I take the hours long silence that John has found signs of the approaching doomsday within the code of GW2, researching this has now claimed his life. Spouting truths within the ANet halls, he has been removed, but he knows the truth. He is going on a spiritual quest to reveal to the world what he has found.
I’ll be honest, not very Charr-y at all. I’d prefer they stay out of the game.
can we please just get more sets of armour in this game? I’ve been stuck with this same look for months. Weapon skins aren’t cutting it anymore, especially not RNG ones. I got one of the Molten ones and a Halloween one and I’m done with those, I don’t need to gamble for any more of the sets coming because I don’t have any armour to match! For a game about looks there isn’t nearly enough customization.
How is it sad? I’m enjoying it and it’s not like I walk around everyday without a shirt on. For people who don’t know what it is it’s just another dragon tattoo, which aren’t exactly rare and people who do know what it’s from know that I’m a pretty dedicated fan. I could probably find ‘sadder’ things for you to see if you like.

I got my Guild Wars tattoo done today, and I’m pretty excited about it and want to share it around.
(The reason it’s back to front is because 10 years down the track and Guild Wars doesn’t exist/Something has ruined it for me/Whatever, at least I have a cool dragon tattoo that’s not in the shape of a 2.)
People forgetting the ‘Show Me’ button on the letter, which takes control from the player and moves the world map, zooms in to where it wants you to go, all the while narrating why, how and where you’re (going to) do this.
I don’t mean to be rude, but you would have a valid complaint, but you didn’t read the text given to you, and that’s a big part of RPGs in general.
Colin has already stated that the mentioned statement was incorrect and apologised. Let’s not beat a dead horse.
All I see is skin. No nipples breasts or anything. I don’t wear gloves in public, am I displaying nudity?
Asura anatomy is different than humans and their ‘bits’ are different than ours, obviously. It would be a lot worse if you went to a farm, those cows don’t wear underpants man.
Dominion of Winds mostly, was very interested with Tengu during GW1 and would like to see how they’re doing.
Secondly the Crystal Desert. Though bland it was still pretty interesting in the original and now with jumping plus probably influence from Palawa Joko it would be more fun to explore, plus we don’t have a desert zone in the game currently so would be a nice change of scenery.
Not sick of any of the quotes yet but i want a special mention for norn guardian using his eli- THIS IS MY WRATH THIS IS MY WRATH THIS IS MY WRATH
Logan Thackeray, major guy crush on troy baker voice and Logans looks.
I am a massive fanboy of guild wars, have always been, and probably always will be. But this RNG rubbish has got to slow down. I did not say stop because I think RNG does belong in some places but in the cash shop Ive had just about enough. Part of this is me getting burnt, of course, but also partly because month after month, without a noticable pattern, its RNG heavy and RNG light, the original Southsun Cove update sold chests that guaranteed you skins and everything, coming after the halloween one which was hard to get skins.
Fast forward 6 months or whatever and last month we had a repeat of halloween, coming after the super adventure box which was the first thing I can think of since launch where if you played the game, YOU COULD EARN REWARDS. only 2 things have been similar to this, the molten gloves and the backpieces in the newest patch. But most new cosmetic stuff for our guys have been locked away behind RNG. I have no issue with cash shop = cosmetic upgrades, hell probably the best way to do it, but it doesnt have to be the ONLY way. And it definately SHOULDNT be behind RNG. I bought the quiver because it looked cool. I spent $10 on gems, got EXACTLY what I wanted, and leftover gems to boot. If I wanted one of the new eyeball skins, I dont know how much Id have to spend, and that in a way is scary.
Sure theyre probably making a lot of money off the RNG and all the power to them, but 1 set of skins + 3 items as free fanservice in almost 9 months? the content is fun yes, but I and Im sure everybody else would like more to show for it than being able to fill newer players in as to what has happened plus some words under our names. Making us give you more money probably without reward is getting kind of old now.
You left out the guild weapon skins and the SAB weapon skins you could get quite easily from your post. I agree that the BEST weapons have been locked away behind RNG but not all of them.
Mentioned SAB but correct I did leave out the guild skins, apologies.

PLEASE fix this ANet. I thought it might be a cool new look for my Necro but upon entering Death Shroud, my tentacles dissapeared and my face sort of dropped.
You can also buy something from the laurel vendor which help convert cores – lodestones
Oh yeah, I forgot about that.
To my knowledge, that replaces the Elonian Wine in the upgrade recipe.
Effectively, it turns a laurel into 25 silver.
Funnily enough, that seems to be the standard approximate exchange rate for a laurel.16 Laurel = 2 Letters = 2000 influence = 4g to buy. (25s per laurel)
10 Laurel = 10 Mystic Binding Agents = 10 Elonian Wine = 2.5 g (25s per laurel)
5 Laurel = 10 UnID Dye = ~17s each on TP = 1.7g (*.85) = 1.45g w/ tax (~28.9g per laurel)
Buying the Heavy crafting bag with T6 materials gives you 3 T6 mats, easily going over 50s each time. Unless you’re unlucky, but most days I get 1 blood or 1 dust at least.
Well ArenaNet did say that they would have Ebohawke established during GW Beyond.
That plus a continuation of Palawa Joko’s story as well as Evennias.
I don’t think I’ve commented in here and I don’t really want to write an essay on why I think Cantha should be in the sequel but it was my favourite one of the 3 originals and I really want to play a Tengu guy. I’m behind the idea to include it.
I don’t know if I’m going to get an infraction because it’s not Guild Wars 2 but lack of an official forum (that I can find, I did try) I’m going to ask here.
Is Guild Wars Beyond content ever going to get finished? Guild Wars 1 is my favourite game ever, and even though I don’t play it regularly now, instead I play Guild Wars 2, if new content came out for the original I’d be there in a heart beat playing through it, and I’m sure a lot of other people would too. On the wiki there’s a list of all the content mentioned that would make it into the game, also quoted as still in development
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_Beyond
Will any of this be completed or do we just stop waiting for it? Thanks in advance.
I am a big fan of capes, and I’m aware that they were omitted due to issues with Charr PCs. Charr are my favourite and I’m under the impression they’re working on it, and its on one of their lists.
If they made it work but excluded Charr from getting capes, I’m not one for tantrums but I would throw a hissy fit of epic proportions.
Hylek won’t be playable, in the collectors edition book it was stated that if they ever need a lesser race in despair, Hylek were made to fill that gap.
Tengu are a given and a must considering their past presence in lore and everything already have been set up, plus they were originally going to be included but the team settled on five being enough races.
There are nicer ways to say the things some people have said in this thread. Let’s make the guy feel welcome..
Jeff Grubb once said in a Q&A (I believe during PAX) that their 5 major races have around the same population as each other.
I suck and my prof got nerfed so ANet/GW2 is the devil. You sound like you’ve been offended personally by this. If you don’t like it anymore quit playing, I don’t think anyone will care about that one guy that sounds so kitten about the game because elementalist lost some numbers VS the thousands praising the game.
As far as I know the old Iron legion capitol was in Ascalon until the humans moved in and kicked them out, the Black Citadel is the successor to the old capitol and the only one since. Blood Legion have theirs in their homelands, and Ash is unheard of.
More people should go to Divinity’s Reach, the bank and trading post are right next to each other, plus the crafting places are right below you and waypointing is quicker since it’s all in the one spot. Only thing missing really is dungeon and guild vendors. But people will ignore this since if they afk in Divinity’s Reach there’s less people to see their cool stuff.
Judging by those hours you may have a problem..
No, it doesn’t equal dungeons, but it does include dungeons, and the past however many patches have not had dungeon content, this one does. Catering to all types of players.
When Arenanet works on an expansion for GW2 I doubt it will take long to develop. They make games that are easy to build upon, just look at GW1, if we were playing the launch of GW1 now, we would already have gotten Factions, it took 6 months to come out I believe.
They have said expansions are going to be a thing, so it’s just a matter of when, and it wont be years down the track I don’t reckon.
In the tooltip on the Gem Store it says ‘Available for a limited time only.’
I think the Molten Pick has one big flaw, and that is the item itself. It’s going to be a big quality-of-life change to those that buy it against those that don’t, but I really like the animation it gives you while mining.
My character is fire-themed, and the volcano thing is really up his alley, so I will buy the pick, but the fact that it’s limited time is kind of a killer for those who miss out for whatever reason. What I propose is you sell the animations themselves. So you could have sudden downpour instead of a volcano when you mine so that there is choice, and it’s not a big ‘haha I played GW2 then and you did not’
I don’t know, maybe this is something you were going to visit in the future, but selling the animations instead would help our characters get much more customization, opposed to an item.
Well the beauty of the dungeons only being 5 players, if you don’t want to come into contact with people you don’t want to.
Oh baby cats yes please. This game needs more sinister light armour, my Charr is restricted to CoF set mostly, and I’m getting pretty tired of that look, but my only other choices are cultural armour and that green set in Orr.
I’m not trying to come across as a kitten, but your first sentence says enough for me to suggest that you stay in WoW. The style of end game present in other MMOs is not found in GW2, new content has been added accessible by max level players, but not the typical end game fare. Different beast completely here, and if it didn’t appeal to you before it probably still wont.
I’m pretty sure they have not talked about this, but I’m willing to bet it will be a limited thing like the other black lion chest stuff.
yeah its doing well
If you want elves for lore reasons, Humans are your race. They are old sentient beings who are good at magic. Looks wise, just go Sylvari and pick skin-toned colours.
I go with the Razer Naga. I wanted to make the switch to the Guild Wars 2 mouse simply coz it was Guild Wars, but I can’t be parted from my Naga. You’ll pry it from my cold, dead hands..
Definately the Engineer. Then probably Necromancer or Ranger?
It’s an alternative. Is your fantasy world still there? Good. Now there’s this if you decide you don’t feel like killing dragons today.
What if the April Fools joke was them saying they were going to take the box away, when that wasn’t the plan at all? Mwaha..
I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that the chests were a 1-day thing.
When you get to the ramp leading to the long bridge on the last part of World 2-1, go to the right and all the way down and around til you reach the bottom, flat square. Dig in the middle and voila, purple Bauble worth 50.
It’s not that much of a grind really, I’ve managed to get a staff and sword skin. Learn the routes of the levels and play through them with different characters (not much different to the games of old) and your bauble bubble pile builds up quickly.
Yes please. Plus all the worlds on the map
Not trying to make excuses here but Engineers can still use shields. I understand that that’s not a popular engi choice but at least there is SOMETHING. I wanted an axe skin for my necro but I’ll have to settle for staff.
Don’t know if I have to point it out but the soundtrack for the first world is an 8-bit (?) remix of the original guild wars 2 song ‘Logans Journey’
Because from all the flaming on the forums, ANet took it all the wrong way and decided to hand us a alpha version of Guild Wars 3, now with no gear and no stats, 2 currencies and no levels
(This is satire; I love both Guild Wars 2 and Super Adventure Box)
Lifts his foot in a direction = stand on the lillipad furthest from the foot
looks like he is going to throw up = get to the back of the room
looks left and right = get ready to throw a crystal into his mouth
to get crystals, throw a bomb whenever you can at the crystal necklace he is wearing, hold a crystal at all times and follow these prompts. If you fail at throwing the crystal into his mouth, he hits the whole room with an unavoidable tongue attack. After throwing the crystal into his mouth, his head will drop and you can whack him.
The game is not empty. The world is big plus instances and PvP, people hiding everywhere. I have never not been able to find people. If under 50 people in certain areas = the game is dead, then yep, it’s dead. So is Warcrafts new patch area, but apparently that game has millions. You can’t look at one piece of scenery, not see x amount of people and cry that it’s dead.
