I like that they are going with different plotlines to what you would normally experience, but I can agree that there does need to be more ‘traditional fantasy’ in the mix as well. Flame and Frost was good but missed that fantasy mark a little bit.
This is working as intended.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Achievement#Achievement_rewards As is you can’t get all the skins according to the wiki, unless they add more chests afterwards.
Hand armour is in the 3,000 AP chest, so you’ll get another Zenith skin at 2,000. Another at 4,000, so on..
Keep in mind new players will have to work for this, everyone is getting them now because they’ve worked for the achievement points earlier.
I’d like to pick Evon. Don’t know why they portrayed him as a shady character in that cutscene, the Black Lion Trading Company were portrayed as good guys before in contrast to the Consortium.
I’d like it to look more appealing on Charr, as is it looks like the skin just cuts out along our neck/spine/whatever that part is on cats.
They said since the beginning you would be rewarded for your progress in Guild Wars 1. This is yet another reward, and not that big of a deal. If it is, Guild Wars 1 is cheap, and there are many guides out there to help you fill your HoM.
Zenith is the third reward you can get. Since it’e technically day 2, it is not a bug that you have not received one.
Scavenger hunts are fun, I haven’t given the zone a good crack yet but I looked around and it seemed cool. Got rid of all my copper and got some stuff for it so that’s a bonus in my book. More fun than the dungeon I got half way through and couldn’t do it because I got bored, plus my group wasn’t very bright so my progress was hindered.
The new one is good, the old one was bare bones, boring, and lacking info. This one is nice and fresh, fun to use and look at.
I don’t think you can stress this enough. People seem to think that they need to be constantly playing, and if the game can’t supply the content to meet their huge demands, that they should leave and never come back. Finished all the stuff you want to? Good on you, go do something else. Work out, read a book, go camping, when you come back there will probably be new stuff for you to do.
Considering all the features and stories and everything that fit into this monster of a game, what is your most favourite part of it? It can be anything.
Mine would be the combat system as a whole. I like the feel of everyone doing the same thing, but doing it completely different, and having so many choices in what you do. Plus I feel like such a hero dodging past enemy attacks in an attempt to pick up a team mate who’s gone down.
I play alone, yet to find a Guild that actually enjoys playing the game. I had one but they left after a couple of weeks. I don’t mind it but someday I would like to do Guild Missions and Explorable Arah.
Buy the Black Citadel so my Charr can declare himself Khan-Ur and have crazy naked dance parties in the big dome.
I kind of like it, but the fire is a bit too over the top, but I will get it, my guy is fire themed because I think it fits the Charr look (though maybe not the lore so much) and I’m not 12 years old either so there you go, someone likes it.
So now we need to farm and achievement points? Just great.
giving ‘high-end’ skin rewards
You people are keep saying this, like it’s the only reward. Read the blog post maybe:
Permanent account bonuses—permanent boosts to Magic Find, experience from kills, karma gain, and more. Earn achievement points on any character and get rewards for all of your characters.
Currencies – gold, gems, karma, and laurels.
Which is even more good news, I was just stating the skin rewards because I see a lot of people asking for those so I assumed it would appeal the most.
So now we need to farm and achievement points? Just great.
With Living Story stuff coming every two weeks you will be earning achievements faster than ever before. At least its universal currency you get for pretty much every single action you do, and its prestige, giving ‘high-end’ skin rewards to people who wanted this sort of thing, like myself. I think it looks fantastic and can’t wait, and hope they keep adding to this.
As an Aussie I agree during primetime, servers are spread thin. There used to be an unofficial Aus server, but since some people thought others should the the Oceanic server, most Aussies/Kiwis spreading elsewhere after launch and just simply it not being marked anywhere, we all can’t get together and play properly. Put simply, it’s a pain in the kitten .
Rebreathers ARE serving their purpose by being that thing that lets you stay underwater forever, making the world mire immersive/make sense. However they do need to be improved upon with better quality ones available and whatnot. Suprised this wasnt a thing when fractals was released given they had hard underwater content.
So what you’re basically saying is that you’re just saying whatever you wanted to, regardless of the thread topic or content?
Why not post it in the Guild forum?
Not exactly, the Cof point had come up and it can easily be applied to the dragon bash stuff, if you don’t like it, don’t do it, just because everybody else is doing it. It’s not that hard to make the stretch.
I don’t know, I haven’t run CoF P1 in quite a long time, and haven’t struggled money-wise. I suggest you play for fun, stop worrying about other people and what they’re doing. I’m aware this wasn’t your main point but to that I say, if it’s not fun there’s probably something else out there that is. Not to be a kitten. Also aware that’s a stock standard ‘suggestion’ but come on,almost 10 months in, do you expect anything else, any dramatic change?
If you’re looking for an opinion, don’t ask on the forums, boot up your game and have a go, all you’ll get here is doom and gloom and trolls, people telling you the devs do not exist, RNG is the only thing in the game, and the rest of that crap. Not true, of course, so just give it a go yourself.
The closest thing Guild Wars 2 has to WoW, is it is by default W to move forward.
My sarcasm radar just broke. You know, if you don’t like it, you don’t have to pay for this stuff.
Maybe they got tired of it who knows
They finally make armour sets, and people bash them for not making them in the style that they wanted. Be happy you’re getting anything at all, clearly they are good in some peoples eyes, and bad in others, doesn’t make these sets flat-out crap. I don’t like them for that matter, but I’m glad ANet is finally making some.
Yep! You got the game, that you paid for, plus the extras, that you paid for. I didn’t complain to Bethesda when I bought Skyrim years ago however long it was now, and now all people who buy the game get the DLC for free. This is business; this is how these things work.
I really was not expecting that. And when I saw the picture, I thought it was another commemorative bag, but no, here’s ANet giving me something worth over $5, not something many companies do, just for being a part of their game. Thanks guys
Charr Necromancer.
I was making a Charr right-or-wrong, loved them, yet hated them at the same time in the first game, hearing they were now playable made the game an insta-buy for me.
I usually always play the warrior, that’s my arch-type. In one of the betas I tried Necromancer because I rathered play a character I wasn’t going to get attatched to so losing him at the end of the beta was no big deal, but I fell in love instantly. I felt Necro had the most personality in the profession, the most unique style and mechanics, the only problem I have with it is that a Necro is a Necro, with a warrior I could customise my guy to be a knight, or a evil warrior sort of thing, and it would feel totally fine, but the Necro feels like it needs to look a certain way.
I have a feeling it’ll either be a new piece of gear (Molten Gauntlet-style) or we will get a weapon skin either to pick from any of the previously limited-release weapon sets or for an entirely new “Anniversary” set of weapons.
Warriors get more love but not that Necros are bad. You have to work a little harder to be a ‘better player’ but they are still a good profession, and leagues ahead of Warriors in PvP I understand.
I think you just need to find a group of people who play the way you want to play and try and ignore the people exploiting and ‘grinding’. This isn’t easy, but they’re out there.
Honestly I just thing the change of appearance = new design, no lore reason at all, lets be honest original gargoyles were not fun to look at. I will say that im having a hard time coming up with any other creature than changed appearance of the same magnitude as the gargoyles though.
My Necromancer, menacing as ever.
Tier 2 Light Hood
Deathly Mantle
Flame Legion Vestments
Molten Gauntlets
Flame Legion Shoes
You sound pretty salty. I don’t mean to be insulting but I’ve played this game non stop since first day of head start and not once felt the urge to grind for something. I play WvW and dungeons and I don’t feel I’m at a disadvantage from not having a 5% lower stat sheet across the board. I am level 8 in fractals, and have gotten enough stuff to make 3 ascended back pieces and infuse them all. Did not have to grind for those. Grinding is there, for people who like it, just like PvP is there for those who like it and WvW for those who like world pvp.
Summon Bone Minions
Summon Twenty Bone Minions
Damage : 1590
Farming would be a breeze
Dodgy wording yeah but I’m pretty confident in sticking by that they will be guaranteed. Hell would you rather kitten and moan about something you don’t know about or stay confident about something you don’t know about?
because NCsoft is not only a publisher, it’s a parent company that owns Anet. However they also pay their developers, invest into expanding Anet and give money to the game to continue produce the content, so I really don’t get those screams of panic.
Exactly, ArenaNet gets money. You don’t work for 10 months with only box sale profits and churn out these sort of updates monthly. It is in NCSofts best interest to keep Guild Wars 2 going.
There are Rich Dragon Coffers which guarantee a skin drop, so not all RNG based.
Why do people keep saying all money from BLTP goes to NCSoft? I’m almost positive NCSoft gets a cut, NOT all of the money made. That’s just how publishers work.
I’m pretty sure with every bow, when your character draws the bow string, the bow bends. This isn’t the case with the Sclerite Longbow, and since some people may have paid money to get it I think it should be fixed.
EDIT: I’ve also noticed the eye on the bow doesn’t blink, not sure that is intentional but other weapons have blinking eyes.

BASH THE DRAGON! SMASH THE DRAGON!
Thanks guys. Been almost a week now and I love it. Some people have known whakittens from and got a few “did you design that yourself”s. Big thanks to whoever at ArenaNet came up with it.
Dragonbash, new version (probably) on the old Dragon Festival in Guild Wars 1. Can imagine it will be quite different, since we probably wont be celebrating the Empire of the Dragon.
Thanks much ANet a lot of other games would say you’re poo out of luck but this is welcome
Working on a fix implies that it should definately have been ready after 8 months. If the UI doesn’t even work as it should, that is a major flaw in my eyes.

Just hoping it will still require some sort of player interation, unlike other MMOs where the game groups you up on its own and no player interaction is needed.
Easiest to Hardest:
1. Warrior
2. Ranger
3. Guardian
4. Thief
5. Elementalist
6. Necromancer
7. Engineer
8. Mesmer
Yep I think this post is pretty spot on. Maybe Mesmer a bit lower down though would be the only thing I’d change.
