These skills need some more love. As of right now they are definitely better than they used to be but other skills still trump them. (Plz no political jokes). So my proposed idea was treating them in a similar fashion to turrets as well as a few minor changes. Here’s my ideas!
Hammer of Wisdom:
-Damage 200
-No longer knocks back but dazes on 3rd hit for 0.5 seconds
-Command stuns target for 1 second
-Grants 1 stack of stability for 3 seconds. 400 range, 5 targets. Pulses once every 10 seconds.
-Duration 30 seconds
-Cooldown 50 seconds
Sword of Justice:
-Damage 600
-Every hit causes 1 stack of vulnerability for 2 seconds
-Command causes sword to be engulfed in flames causing 2 stacks of burning for 2 seconds on next hit
-Grants fury for 5 seconds. 400 range, 5 targets. Pulses once every 15 seconds
-Duration 45 seconds
-Cooldown 30 seconds
Bow of Truth:
-No damage
-Fires arrows that ricochet once between players healing them for 500 and curing 1 condition
-Command creates a healing chain between bow and 3 players healing them for 1000 for 3 seconds as long as they stay in range of the bow. Range 600
-Grants regen for 3 seconds once every 10 seconds. 400 range, 5 targets
-Duration 20 seconds
-Cooldown 40 seconds
Shield of the Avenger:
-No damage
-Creates a bubble that lasts for 4 seconds and now stays close to player while bubbling instead of staying in 1 spot and can move while bubbling as well
-Command releases a burst of energy, 600 radius, granting 8 seconds of vigor
-Grants 4 seconds of protection. Pulses every 8 seconds. 400 range, 5 targets
-Duration 24 seconds
-Cooldown 30 seconds
In the recent patch to the bag farming in Lake Doric and over the years I’ve noticed an upsetting pattern of decisions made by the development team. You cannot micromanage players to how you want them to play your game. It is in fact really bad PR. It was stated that the area as it was, was not being played to your intentions. To me, this is not an exploit but rather a design flaw. While I am not that upset over this farm being gone, it’s the principal of it. Nor was this farm game breaking or giving anyone an edge as everyone else could do it. My point is that the more you try to force your players to do things the way YOU want the more you’re going to lose customers. And also, why exactly are you so against people farming? It’s a basic core element of MMOs. I don’t see any other MMOs constantly changing things to prevent people from making virtual money. To me this is very odd. Instead I believe the proper action would be to set up spots that are intended for farming. Not discourage players from trying to make gold or get materials. Cause let me tell you, stuff like cloth and leather is a real chore to come by. Unlike wood and ore.
Also I find this extraordinarily hyprocritical because nearly 1 year ago you’ve also said that farming with a Ranger in Silverwastes is completely acceptable. Yet farming with an Engineer is not in Lake Doric? I’m not sure what’s going on over there but I think your teams need to have set rules on stuff, communicate better with both your teams and your playerbase.
I am experiencing this UI issue as well. It seems if you have a lot of items to salvage the window gets huge. Very annoying.
Can you please make it so that the events scale? On days when we have event completer the enemies die so incredibly fast it’s often hard to get a hit in. It’s very annoying and it causes the events to complete too quickly. It’s frustrating when you’re running from a waypoint to an event to have it finish just as you’re about to get there. Thanks.
Have you read the patch notes?
It says “Phantasmal Berserker: This skill now fires a boomerang projectile that inflicts 3 stacks of vulnerability for 3 seconds in addition to summoning a phantasm.”
Doesn’t say anything about changing the animation.
In just the past few days I’ve noticed that casting this skill has a different animation at least on human female. Is this intentional? You do a spinning animation now instead of holding your sword up.
Who do you find to be the most boring race as far as lore and personal story go?
I was thinking earlier it would be really nice if I could simply set a nickname for myself so that every time I type in guild chat it says my nickname instead of my character name. It would make it easier for everyone in the guild cause they wouldn’t have to memorize all my characters names or have to go and look at my account name to check to see who it is. Think you could look into implementing this please? Thanks
Pocket Raptor’s in Draconis Mons are able to hit you from approximately 1000 units away from you while on a gentle slope. There’s something wrong with this. They are attacking with melee and therefore should be within melee range (50-100 units).
I was looking at the LFG and thought to myself, it would be great if there was an LFG spot for guilds. For instance you could either advertise you were recruiting or you could advertise yourself that you were looking for a guild. Sure people often spam guild recruitment stuff in random maps but it’s not always convenient. Not to mention you never know where someone might be advertising something. Anyways, just a thought.
I swear the story is getting more convoluted as more chapters are released. I was thinking back to how the dragons absorb magic of other dragons when they die. And we are trying to pit Primordus and Jormag against each other right? Since those 2 dragons can harm each other with their magic, wouldn’t just killing one of them cause the other to die cause it would absorb the magic that does harm to it?… Then it raises the question why are we trying to figure out how to pit them against each other if simply killing one will cause the other to die.
After going frame by frame with the video, it appears that the assault on DR is not from Queensdale but from an area we haven’t explored yet. It looks to be directly north of CM judging by the terrain, angle of the mountains facing DR and the fact that centaurs are charging in, in one shot. Since centaur homeland is in Harathi and it’s directly next to that space above CM…. well I think that’s a pretty good chance it is. The new area may even extend all the way around DR to the north and west. So it seems at least a small part of the Woodland Cascade is being explored.
Here’s a few reasons I don’t do pvp very much.
-Skill rotations are unbalanced. Example: an Engineer may need to pull off a really elaborate combo to do some serious damage. But a Thief can just spam a couple skills and do the same amount of damage. The amount of effort put into a rotation only to have another class trump it with something easier should not exist. If that rotation is really difficult, it should give much better results.
-Too much focus on very few builds. In a game where you can have many different builds, they should all be viable. Yes some more than others but not as extreme as in this game.
-Elitism and salt. Omg, I can’t stress this enough. Superiority complexes and the amount of salt I’ve seen is overwhelming.
-Lastly I’m a casual player and I prefer to just chill and kill **** while having a drink. Not face roll my keyboard in frustration.
I’m just going to shoot blindly in the dark and say April 13th, 2018.
“Nothing breaks immersion quite like…”
Invisible walls…
This I can totally agree with. If I can jump to or fly to some place, then I should be able to. If you want players not to go there, instead put large rocks or some sort of terrain. Not just a solid invisible wall.
This is probably a big stretch but…. you never know. Anise and Livia are possibly the same person. Why do I think this? Livia joined the Shining Blade and was tasked with finding the Scepter of Orr to stop the Krytan Civil War. The scepter has the ability to control others and obey the wielder’s wishes. This obviously seems to of stopped the Krytan Civil War at some point after EOTN. The scepter also has the ability to alter those who wields it’s energy. Meaning it may be able to prolong someones life profoundly. Since Livia was a Necromancer her influence in that type of magic could also possibly prolong her life. However she would eventually look very old. Therefore she took up Mesmery to hide her true image and renamed herself to Anise. Now as Anise she was able to protect Queen Jennah growing up and yet Anise doesn’t appear to age at all. Anise is also especially concerned with Caudecus, suspecting he may cause another civil war. Something she would not want again and why she wants Caudecus back in custody as soon as possible. It feels like Anise has been keeping secrets and protecting Kryta far longer than the current era of GW2. Although this could simply be a coincidence they both wear sexy clothing. Anyways, there’s a lot of similarities between Anise and Livia and both are very sly about things. And if they are the same person. The question of, where is the Scepter of Orr then? Was it a one time use thing or is it hidden somewhere in Anise’s home?
Some of the elite specs feel real good like reaper, thief and chronomancer. But then some others feel sort of “meh”. Not necessarily bad but just that I like the core profession better. Like… dragon hunter traps are really strong and such but the virtues just feel kinda meh to me. And druid staff is great for healing others but I feel like I’m tickling things to death. Whereas I’d rather forego the extra heals for more damage.
I did not get the contents of the steel chest. When I checked my inventory I did not get an exotic or ascended item. I also double clicked on the chest and it said blue longbow inside. And I’ve not unlocked any of the legendary collections to get something like that.
The wiki is probably wrong. The article you quote was last updated in 2013, so things have probably changed but not been updated by the wiki community.
Why would a steel chest drop and contain a blue item in it? That doesn’t make any sense.
I’ve never had this happen before up until now. I was doing events in Bitterfrost Frontier and my inventory was full. There was a Steel Chest on the ground that dropped from an enemy. According to the Wiki it always contains either an exotic or ascended item. And normally this has always been true. But tonight when I went and opened it, it gave me a blue longbow.
Edit: I’m not sure if this is just a coincidence. But at that same moment someone in the map had gotten Zap as a drop. Very strange.

As I was quitting the game, it froze immediately after pressing exit to desktop. It showed everything on screen as if I was still in the game but was completely frozen. I ended up force quitting the program and looked at the error message Windows gave me. I’m not sure if this can help you guys in the future but here is what it said:

In your opinion which class do you find to be the most balanced as far as damage, survivability, utility, etc. Basically the average Joe character.
It was never intended as such.
This is why you can see what’s happening around you when they show off the vista, lol.
It used to work that when you viewed a vista in wvw it would make you invul until the cutscene was over. Now I guess not? It still does in PVE, I know that for sure.
As a last ditch effort to hold onto our keep I went up to a vista and waited till any enemy came to me. I then used the vista so it would make me invulnerable as I watched the cutscene. But it did not work. As I was watching the cutscene I saw my character knocked back off the top and died from falling. So…why wasn’t the invulnerability function working?
So I returned to the game in mid Oct after a 9 month break. And just a couple days ago I saw what looked like the Vale Guardian pop up out of no where next to the TP in Lions Arch. I went up to it and it said “Anomaly sighted”. Now everywhere I go I see it pop up constantly. It doesn’t matter what map I am in. It’s getting really annoying. How do I stop it from randomly showing up?
Mesmer in GW2 resembles mesmer in GW1 in name only.
So I’m guessing none of the skills are even close to the same then?
How does the Mesmer differ mostly between GW1 and GW2?
So I was looking at my combat log and I noticed that “Imagined burden” did damage. It’s not supposed to. It’s just a trait that gives you might when you use your AA on greatsword for Mesmer. How on earth can it possibly do damage then? Check out the screenshot.
Any particular reason why this event was removed from the desert borderland?
So I took my elementalist to wvw tonight for the first time in a while. I was following a commander and when he went and put siege down I couldn’t help build it. It said something along the lines of “You are not allowed to build siege.” Yet half an hour later I could build just fine as I always have. Is this a bug or something?
This definitely needs fixing. I just used around 150 snowballs to get the 10 hit. It didn’t matter if the AOE circle was directly on them, slightly behind them or far behind them. It was just very random when it actually hit them. It almost always went straight thru them or even if it hit right at them sometimes it still wouldn’t register. Very frustrating. Why the snowballs work great on people and not Skritt I can’t understand.
Can someone please tell me what PPT is? Last time I checked it meant points per tick. But those in Maguuma chat don’t use it in that sort of context. So I’m guessing it means something different now? I asked but I just got a lot of flack and no real answer.
Is there some way to tell who you have selected in a huge enemy mob? It’s a sea of red and particle effects. Can’t tell what’s going on cause it’s so cluttered looking.
From what I’ve heard team chat is now multi-map wide? Last time I played in wvw it was just map-wide. When did this change happen?
UTC doesn’t change for daylight savings is what gets people.
I meant, in the past when I would change to server time it would stay the same time. For example server time would say 7pm, and I’d change the setting back to local time and it’d still say 7pm.
How come switching between the 2 settings in the past never used to change the time then?
Didn’t the servers used to be based off of PST? and not GMT?
It’s also possible it’s reserved. I couldn’t make a character named Egaile because of Gaile, even though she had a different last name, and the E in the front.
Well, I just checked the name and it isn’t in use by anyone. For whatever reason the system did not like the word “Kals” in part of the last name. I have no idea why.
I am truly confused why the game rejected this proposed name. Is there some sort of swear word that I don’t know about or something?
So with Braham’s unexpected aggressive and crappy attitude, who wants to bet that he goes charging in, gets captured, and get turned into a dragon champion for Jormag? And we have to “free” his soul so that it can be at peace and with Eir.

I can’t seem to stay connected to the game for more than a few seconds. Also the official website keeps going down as well.
I’m so happy I don’t have to watch 50 billion more political commercials anymore.
Ok, first off I’m a bit late to the show since I took a considerable break and only recently came back. From what I’ve read on Dulfy the very first thing to do is go through a Class 1 rift near Gillscale Pond in Fields of Ruin. I’ve spent the past 45 minutes here waiting for an event, looking around and being bored. There’s no rifts here or anything. And no thing in the water. But I guess that doesn’t show up till after you jump into a rift? So like…. what’s the deal? Did they remove the rifts from this area and you can no longer pick up this mysterious item?
We should be able to craft a gift box where we are able to either choose to put a real gift into it or a joke gift where it blows up and downs the person you send it to when they open it. The person will never know if they are getting something nice like gold or something nasty!
Ok, so we know that Mordremoth’s weakness was through the dream. What about Zhaitan though? He was allergic to cannon sparklers?
Also, logically Primordus should be weak to ice right? And Jormag would be weak to fire. So… are we going to end up having these two kill each other at the same time? Considering these two have both become active at the same time….
So it’s been about 6 months since I’ve played and just recently come back part time. Where is everyone? I go to SW and it’s dead. I go to DS and it’s dead. I go to that new Fire Isle map and it’s dead. Did a million people just suddenly leave or something? I don’t see hardly anything in the LFG except for the Labyrinth.
So… any chance we’ll be able to get these weapons? I thought they were really cool in the HoT beta long ago. And I still wouldn’t mind having them a year and a half later….
Please?….
So we got the magic carpet toy thing but what about it as a glider? What could be better than sitting on a carpet and gliding. Do the Aladdin!
