Just posting this here for nostalgia’s sake.
That’s your own fault for spending thousands of bucks. I’ve only paid the base game and gotten tons of stuff with gold to gems.
Try nVidia Shadowplay since you have a GTX770. I used to record videos using Hypercam 2, which is similar in function to Bandicam, and it was CPU intensive. Now I record videos using the Shadowplay as it’s not as CPU intensive as other software screen recorders. I even tried Fraps, I found that Shadowplay is still better. Recordings of gameplay can reach up to hundreds of megabytes though, so may need to edit or delete videos you do not need or want.
Thanks! I tried out Shadowplay and it works perfectly. No fps loss at all, even at 60fps capture.
Anyone here use Bandicam to record ingame stuff? Whenever I try recording it nearly halves my framerate. I have a good cpu and video card. I-7 4790 and GTX 770 respectively.
The settings I got for it are fullscreen 1080p. H.264 codec, variable bitrate. 60 fps capture. AAC audio codec.
Ingame graphical settings are most on high except player model and quality. Those are set to low and high respectively. Windowed Fullscreen mode.
Any ideas?
One of the my best deaths was I walked to Bay gate in WvW from home WP with 2 others thru all sorts of hectic. We made it to the gate and then promptly died. It was over 2 and a half years ago and I recorded part of it. Sorry for the bad quality but here it is.
Can’t you set the party to the pvp version in pve? There you go! The health bars!
Yes you can. I’m talking about the healthbar that shows up when you hover over someone. I rarely party with people but I do world events often so I’d like to see people’s health.
I’d like to be able to see allies lifebar under their name all the time rather then only when you hover your mouse cursor over them. It makes it easier to see who needs healing then. I like using “Receive the light” on Guardian but it’s inconvenient when I don’t really know who is low on life.
I saw this little guy too, made me laugh.
Any1 notice the Modrem guards floating around the base of the tree as well?
Yes I saw it as well. There were a few locations with floating objects. Not just enemies. Specifically some floating grass and a floating Charr copter.
Anyone NOT planning on using the new specs??

I’ve tried out Guardian, Revenant, Necro and Mesmer specializations. Guardian is a definite no, Revenant I will use, Necro I will use and Mesmer is possibly use but not sure yet.
Can’t wait to make her for real and have her permanently! Yea she’s just wearing blah armor but whatever.
Anyone else noticed that the song that plays while you have Facets on? It sounds a lot like Crystal Oasis from GW1, which was also reintroduced in Glints Lair for GW2 as a remix. It also seems the more Facets you have active the louder and more depth the notes have. I recorded the song without any other ingame effects and see what you think.
Overall I think things are pretty good where they are. I do think the snipers damage could be reduced a little bit. The smokescales (esp the vets) could use some tweaking as well; specifically “miss miss miss miss miss miss” despite them not even standing in their field. I think the mushrooms could be a tad less damaging as well; getting run over once by them can be lethal.

Didn’t know that Smurfs lived in the Maguuma Jungle but now I have proof!
Ok, maybe I’m blind but I can’t seem to find Herald in my trait line. I was using it before but changed it up and now it’s missing. Is this a bug or something? And can I get it back without creating a new beta char?
There’s a couple skills that aren’t working very well on slopes. Specifically the #2 on hammer and #5 on axe. Despite the visual actually reaching the enemy that is on a slope they are not damaged by the attack.
In Cursed Shore I encountered an Elite Subjacator and it was able to drain my life from infinite distance. Basically it started it’s life steal attack and there were other mobs around and I ended up having to run away. However the Elite was still able to steal life off of me no matter how far I ran away while it stood in 1 spot. I probably ran approximately 10,000 units from it before it downed me. After I got up though the life drain stopped.
For whatever reason any beta character I play turns really dark while playing in Verdant Brink. I’m not sure what’s causing it cause I can go a long time without turning dark or a short time. It remains dark until either relogging or changing maps. I’ve also noticed some of the Pact soldiers that are carrying supplies are dark in color also.

“Fixed client crash” Why? Cause it means nothing new or interesting added
Just… this building is very happy. Maybe cause the Inquest have left it now?
I don’t have my 3-day headstart character anymore. Do I still get the outfit? I pre-ordered the Collectors Edition of the game.
Yea it’s supposed to be this way. Kinda sucks but…. you’d have serious clipping issues otherwise
No problems with mine. I’m on a ranger. Doesn’t matter what weapon I use it seems fine for me. Dyes I’m using are summer grass and freshen.
When HoT releases will you be able to play it at lvl 80, when you do personal story or when you complete all of Season 2? Or will it be all of the above?
Cause when they were on sale for 1 day tons of people wore them then got over it. I see it more now but not as much as before cause lots already have them.
Laying in the grass works for me
I don’t really recall but I think the one from yesterday was about 260
I did it today and it worked fine. Took long as hell but it always does.
I was thinking of a title for next year and thought “Dedicated” sounded good. Just throwing that out there as a suggestion.
I would recommend using windowed-fullscreen mode. It doesn’t minimize the game. It keeps it playing in the foreground rather than putting it in the background processes when you alt-tab. Other than that idk.
Doing PS with a new character, and in the dialogue cutscenes, the voices drop. Usually after switching to a new npc starts talking, the first thing they say is just silence, while the second thing is audible.
Anyone have this issue and can it be fixed?
It seems that everyone is having this issue, or at least a lot of people. Friends I know and it’s been mentioned in the forums a few times at least. It doesn’t seem like there is a fix. It is most likely on Anet’s end. Something isn’t triggering correctly for whatever reason. The fix will most likely be with an update hopefully not too far in the future.
Arenanet can you please consider moving the 2 champions in Malchors Leap that spawn and camp right next to the skill points? It makes it impossible to get them unless you have lots of stealth, a group kills it or a pet distracts.
A lot of people are feeling HoT is taking way too long to come out. Especially since it’s still very beta.
Arenanet, is this expansion also releasing slower than you had hoped for?
Am I the only one who struggled with condi removal on the Rev? Especially with those husks immobalizing the hell out of me.
I vote for SAB also. I haven’t seen it since world 2 first opened. Need happy pixels.
I never use shield
I’m guessing it’s probably happening for all races with any path chosen. It’s always the npc and not my character and it seems pretty random. I’ve noticed that sometimes when Logan does talk, his first few words sound kind of cut off and quiet, then it’s fine.
Oh I thought this was a poem at first. It’s not p2w. You only pay for outfits n stuff. And even then you can just trade gold for gems.
Dragonhunter, Reaper, Tempest, etc…. are these coming before HoT releases or with the release?
I love the super banana honestly. It doesnt bother me at all. The only mini’s that irritate me are the toxic krait and the wintersday golem that chimes his bell nonstop.
Here’s some of my views about the beta.
-Story is pretty engaging and interesting. The dialogue without the cutscenes is very nice. Some bugs with characters not saying their lines.
-Verdant brink is beautiful and lots to explore. Although it is complex to navigate. Events are pretty good except for them bugging out often.
-Enemies are challenging. A few enemies are too strong in my opinion. Especially if you’re running by yourself. The bowmen who can down you instantly and the shadowstep dino are a bit too dangerous. I only played at night and there were some areas with too many mobs for running by yourself. Overall the difficulty is appropriate except for those few things.
-Revenant felt much stronger this beta. Particularly with the damage, although I think it could still be a little higher. Maybe by about 5-10%. Energy consumption for some skills seemed too high though. Traits felt pretty good depending on which legend you were using. I did have a bit of trouble with removing conditions consistently though. Particularly immobalize and stuns.
-Guardian longbow was decent. I think the damage of the auto-attack needs to be a bit higher and projectile speed increased. The charged shot is right where it should be. The destroy projectile skill didn’t always function properly. The fire ring attack on longbow feels like it should be bigger in radius as well. The rain of arrows with chains felt good. The traps are ok but not great. They need a damage increase in my opinion. The elite was not that impressive as it was basically just a stun.
-Mesmer felt very strong. It was very complex at first but after awhile I got into a decent groove. However I felt the F5 skill was odd. The wells were pretty good. Some of them could use tweaking though. The shield skills worked great. I was able to keep slowness on my enemies very often and think this may need to be toned down a bit. The elite on giant enemies was funny to watch. Alacrity felt right where it should be.
-Necromancer greatsword auto attack felt too slow for the damage output it did. The #2 skill only felt useful when the target was below 50% life. #3 skill felt very good. #4 skill was good as well, especially for lifestealing. #5 skill on greatsword was decent although I think a small range increase would be good. Shouts were overall good. Especially the one that gives might on how many targets it hits. The shroud skills felt strong except for the #2 skill. It was very cool looking but felt like all I was doing was spinning forward while doing minimal damage. The autoattack with Dhummfire works very well since it is a fast attack. I feel like the #3 skill should be a stun break since it gives stability also. The #4 in shroud was pretty strong. The #5 skill was good, although for such a big wind-up I felt the damage needed to be increased and/or the cooldown reduced.
-I did not get a chance to play Elementalist.
-Overall the beta felt better than the previous ones. Some bug fixes and tweaks are needed in my opinion. I enjoyed the beta.
I’m still in the beta…
Same, I’m able to play on my beta revenant and even are able to represent a guild.
What blue dye is that?
The blue dye is Enameled Sky. I mixed it with some Abyss and Celestial.
Also, I dc’d again ankitten ot able to log back into the beta char, so ANet has fixed it now :P
Yes they just fixed it for me as well
I’m also able to send mail and sell on the tp now too o__o
I’m still in the beta…
pics or it didn’t happen
This is my beta char right now
I’m still in the beta…
Well what doesn’t make sense to me is why you’re given 2 opportunities to create a phantasm by either blocking, which spawns it sooner, or waiting till the skill ends which creates it later.
Ok so this skill creates a phantasm when either you block or when the skill ends. If you block you basically get to use the same skill again. What I don’t understand is why youre given a phantasm when the skill ends. It feels like it should be on block only. Similar to how #4 on sword works. It’s kinda weird cause you can either wait the few seconds for your phantasm to spawn or have it spawn immediately by getting a block. I do like the skill but it seems a bit odd to me.
I got the same message and I never did get the titles from GW1 cause I didn’t earn them. Nor did I get them from that bug awhile ago. Don’t know why it sent me the ingame mail. Nothing has changed lol.
If an enemy is behind you while trying to use the longbow on Guardian it just says “no line of sight” Your character won’t turn to attack them like they do with any other weapon or class. For instance if I use scepter and I try attacking something behind me my character will turn. It’s very inconvenient and takes away from the fluidity with this line of sight thing
