Rev getting displaced out of Raid ring

For Vale guardian, it is possible for a Rev to throw themself out of the battle ring if they are close to the edge and use Sword 3. This happened twice last night in Phase 1 when we were stacked with tank close to Red pillar and the edge of the ring. It instantly kills the Rev and they end up outside of the ring.

Against Vale Guardian, if your tank is stacking by the red pillar for Stage 1 (which is a great spot btw) DO NOT use Sword 3. We had one of our pug Revs throw himself out of the ring twice from doing this. This will instant kill the Rev.

Warriors will be PS to might stack the whole fight, banners (literally no reason to carry tactics banner), a multi rez for downed people with elite banner, some great bar breakers with mace 3/mace Burst, and some small addition to vuln stacking (not great but helps) and Weakness from Warhorn. Some Fury from FGJ, but other classes do perma fury way better.

I think I am experiencing a similar bug with the spoon collection. Fairly sure I completed it and now I only get Broken Spoons. But it says I am missing the Siege Commander’s Spoon from WvW. I’ll wait until I get a Broken Spoon from there and file a ticket for this.

Not to say there’s nothing wrong in your case, but I got a commander spoon last week so they do still drop, and it is in my collection. FYI

I can’t see myself doing fractals again once I finish the legendary backpack. Not a fan of the gold skins and already bought the normal skin I wanted. I’ll try to do all the levels until then for the achievement but there is no reward to continuing after.

If you want to keep going, I suggest you extract your Mighty Infusions and save them in your bank and replace them with the +7s. If you’ve done as many fractals as you claim, it shouldn’t be too hard to replace them all. Would be cheaper than making new gear at least.

If by some chance ANET remembers mighty infusions exist, you still have yours to update.

Agreed with the post above.

Honestly it would have been so much better if to get the mastery you actually had to do what the goal was. Fractal Masteries? Do fractals. Pact Mastery? Break it up: Mentor gets exp through dungeons/meta events and map completion required, auto loot from doing world bosses, run speed from gathering exp, merchant track from crafting.

(I actually think the legendary quest is in a good place, but really didn’t need to make it a mastery. The tasks are fine on their own.)

I would have liked a system like that so much more, but as it is, farming CoF isn’t an exploit. An Exploit would be if you could get that exp without doing any work (like force progressing by abusing wall glitches, etc.)

Rev can’t stack might the way a PS war can. I main War with a heavy focus on Fractals and you always want a PS War. I run Axe/Warhorn/Greatsword with banners and GFJ and I can condi clear, swift, vigor, party regen with banners, might stack to 25 with one 100b, fury (not as well as Herald for sure), access to quickness, and good damage all without changing my set up. I do end up camping Greatsword 90% of the time in Fractals and World bosses.

In SW and Maguuma I run Sword/Shield/Hammer because I need those blocks and interrupts to CC/Cripple. I can survive for quite a while without having to change much.

I’m not a fan of Beserker but I’ve been playing with it in pvp.

Long story short, Warrior is fine PvE, but don’t be surprised that the PS/Banner Zerk Meta is what you find yourself in because it just works the best in a team.

No, it doesn’t. I got Head-shot dazed using it like a million times last time. I’m not sure what you were experiencing but I had it interrupted and put on full cooldown way more times than i’m happy to admit.

Same, I am not sure what was difference between us. Either way it should offer some form of evasion. Hammer 3 I can understand it not doing so, because “technically” your rev is still in one spot, despite animation.

Please consider the following:

- Increasing the speed of Hammer auto attack. As Rev’s ONLY range weapon it just feels SO slow.

- Add blast finisher to Staff #4.

- Make Ventari tablet auto summon upon legend swap

- The trait that grants Fury when using a heal skill would not activate when you used the skill to summon the tablet, only the skill to move it.

- Increase movement speed of tablet when using Ventari’s Will

- Please do SOMETHING with Jalis hammer utility. It’s simply awful and not good enough yet. Give us something more Tanky or cause it to apply chill/slow/cripple/something on hit, increase the range.. SOMETHING.

Not only bosses. Many situations require some party members with ranged weapon (like the platforming part with harpies, that is already pretty bad for the lack of swiftness if you have no hammer)

Again, not REQUIRED. You can melee harpies fine, in fact if you have a guardian with you its preferred to stay close to them for their blocks/reflects. Things like “required” and “mandatory” mean you can not complete something without something. The only ONLY thing in fractals you can not hit without range are oil buckets in Battleground. And EVEN THEN you can just ignore them, break the doors, and run. Anomaly is helped with having range if all platforms near it are missing, but they come back pretty fast.

Again, I agree Revs need weapon swap and another range option, but not because of fractals.

@DiogoSilva I’m afraid I still have to disagree. No other class is stuck to the same weapon skills. Eles change throughout the first, as with Engi kits. “Weapon swapping” our skills is not fun. I get new situational utilities, but not new attacks. It makes fighting as a Rev repetitive, predictable, and just boring.

If I’m stuck in Mace/Axe and I need to pick off someone at 1200 range I can’t do this. Axe’s range is only 900. I’m totally useless if someone gets out of that range. I can’t even gap close (Staff 5) because that’s a different weapon.

I can’t be the only one who thinks this skill is terrible. I’d rather it be a Hammer Weapon skill than a Utility skill. It’s not offering Utility, but rather (unblockable) damage. The unblockable feature is nice but I feel like we could have a much MUCH better defensive skill in this slot instead of this skill.

Another Tablet change request:
While Tablet is out, it should offer regen in an AoE around in. Right now passing the tablet through you and others is not only time consuming, but weak. While I do like the idea of positional management, these heals are too weak to justify the effort needed.

As it is, Revs have no instant heal in Ventari, the HEALING legend. This is ridiculous. The skill 6 needs a lot more work, because this is YOUR personal heal skill, but it’s terrible if you’re not in range of it. If not granting AoE regen on others then it should have a constant regen effect on yourself regardless of range. (Like Warrior healing signet).

Yeah, for some fractals the ranged weapon is mandatory. Also it’s pretty bad you can’t swap, since some fractals have different phases.
Or at least give the game a good option to swap sets while not in battle. Come on, i need to open the inventory every time, really?
That’s also pretty frustrating when you swap a 2 weapon set with a 2h weapon, since the offhad one just goes in the first free inventory slot.

The ONLY “mandatory range” 2nd weapon in fractals is against Reactor boss. Everything else is fine in Melee. And even then it doesn’t take long to get melee range back.

Rev def needs another range option, though, for other situations.

Things New Revs Should Know

It takes time to learn a new class. Those of us playing should share tips to make everyone’s experience smoother. What I learned last night for PvE:

- THE MOST IMPORTANT LESSON: MALLYX’S UNYEILDING ANGUISH
Do not, DO NOT use this skill carelessly. The displacement effect is annoying in group fights and you will anger everyone around you causing the target to portal around the whole fight. This goes for your downed 2 skill; BE CAREFUL.
Where this is BAD: Single target boss fights, mobs concentrated in one point to spike down.
Where this is GOOD: Point capping, keeping escorts alive, disrupting mobs you plan to skip through.
Examples: Bull escorts in SW, Siege protection during VW, keeping mobs off players who are holding a kit (TT Colbalt wurm for example).

- Mallyx Utility Rotation
Pain absorption (When your team has condi; pull onto you) -> Banish Enchantment (More condi on you means more confusion applied) -> Empowering Misery (heals more with more Condi on you)

- Jalis’ Inspiaring Reinforcement (Road)
This is a lightning field, meaning:
Blasting (Mace/Hammer) gives Swiftness. This is Rev’s only means of self swiftness so far
Projectiles (Hammer AA) and Whirl finishers apply Vulnerability
Leap finishers give Daze.
The stability the skill offers means you should use it in those fights where CC is common (Teq phase 1, Centaur world boss, Claw of Jormag phase 1, KQ) Things that should work but haven’t tested yet: Archdiviner Fractal (stoping 30 stack stun, Diviner’s knockback, Stopping initial stun against last boss), Jade Maw tentacles, Jade elementals, etc
When you should NOT use it: Covering fire fields. This is the worst thing you could do. Prepping for Teq burn phase in particular.

- Ventari’s Will (Tablet)
If either of these legends don’t suit your needs (No CC, No/low condi) healing is the best option. Examples of this is Shatter, Megadestroyer, Claw of Jormag phase 2, Shadow Bohemoth, basically any time people are standing and attacking with low risk. Set up your tablet location and spam Natural Harmony to heal in a set location. You will have more than enough energy if you are consistently attacking a mob to keep healing.

- Mace Axe has some of the best skills so far. #4 gap closes, #5 interrupts, #2 +#3 is area might. You can further your rotation by pulling mobs together with 5 then 2 +3. Offering a Fire Field on a short CD is a huge help in big fights.

- Hammer is our only range option so far. #4 + auto attack creates Lifesteal projectiles. You should try to always use these two together.

- Staff #5 makes you invulnerable as you travel. Good for avoiding dogs in SW lab.

Another suggestion: Tablet needs to summon as soon as you enter Ventari. None of this Switch > wait > press 6 > wait > now I can use my skills. If you are switching to Ventari you ONLY want your tablet and you want it NOW. There is no reason to hide it behind a second skill. The heal on activation is so small that it won’t even be missed.

Rev really needs weapon swap. There is no good reason not to have it. The utilities legends bring (so far) are just not good enough to justify being stuck in the same 5 attacks.

When playing Mallyx, you use 1-2 utilities against condi. If you are fighting something that doesn’t condi then you don’t use them much (except to give yourself more condis for bigger heals.)

You use Jalis for group stability and sometimes taunt. If the boss is really CC heavy (Centaur would boss, Teq phase 1, KQ) you’re going to be spamming road and nothing else the whole fight.

Ventari you are determined to be in heal mode for the whole encounter so you’ll be spamming your heal skills anyways.

What I’m saying is Rev legends are situational and rarely do you swap between them midfight if you know what your doing. It doesn’t lead to the same diversity Ele/Engi has. I’m always stuck on the same weapon/s for the whole encounter and it sucks. It’s boring. I’m trying to get ooc if I want to switch. It’s just bad.

Staff 4 needs to be a blast finisher. Haven’t played with staff much yet but yeah.

Tablet is fine being manually moved, but it needs to be sped up a little. Not drastically but it needs a bump. I want my tablet to be there waiting for me when I move it on the run, not barely catching up on my heels while I run.

Under Invocation trait, Fierce Infusion grants fury when “using a heal skill.” Heal skill in this case means "using skill #6 and not any heal. When you use Project Tranquility to summon the tablet you are not granted fury, even though it heals you. Only Ventari’s Will grants fury. Since FI is a 20s CD anyways, I think summoning the tablet should activate this skill too.

Killed Teq VERY fast last night. Only one wave of mobs spawned (the ones at 14:00) and we were working on the champ when battery phase started.

Not sure what the solution should be; I liked it being harder but I like bosses can be crit. I’d love to see Teq do more varied attacks but I doubt that will happen.

This is what I run in sPvP; I’m sure it’s not optimal but I enjoy it.
GS (Battle, Energy)/Hammer (Air/Leeching)
Soldiers Ammulet
Regen Sig, FGJ, Dolyak sig, Shake it off, SoR
Def: 2-1-1
Tac: 1-2-3
Dis: 3-2-1

You can play around with Disipline line the most, merciless hammer is great damage increase that the build is missing, but I like having that 10 instant adren from Butst mastery to help with Adrenal Health.

The build lacks Might stacking that other Forceful GS builds would have, which is the biggest drawback. However I can last pretty long in a fight and wear people down or apply pressure. This is not a spiking build by any means, but I enjoy it.

Back when I was running PUG fractals I didn’t care who joined as long as we got it done. I had many Necros (and rangers) join and ask if their class was okay to play, because I wouldn’t specify. Made me feel bad for them that they felt they needed to ask permission to play their class.

Only time I kick now is if our LFG is asking for a specific class and someone not of that class joins. Even then I ask the player if they have the desired class before trying to kick them.

Tried it last night; we ran out of time after the first burn on 2nd phase but it wasn’t a full map and not sure all defenses were full.

I was working N Hills defense and personally I had a fun time even if we didn’t win. Saw a lot of full dead players who didn’t WP, the usual stuff.

It’s clearly doable from what others said but you can’t halfass it. I think it should stay for another week as is and see what happens. I do feel it should be doable with a full map and even if your not luck enough to get into the super guild maps. At least 90% or more of the people doing Teq know what to do; no mechanics were changed. People just need to put in more effort.

No, the hit box is indeed screwy; too high, moving too much, etc.
My friend (guardian) and I (warrior) tried this fight 2 times, baffled that we had to be doing something wrong. I had seen videos of warriors and thieves melee it, but I realize now this was before it broke/moved.

We managed to get it to work with Longbow and Scepter/Torch.

Give it a little bit of time; this is a weird state of the game right now where the dust has yet to settle from the huge impact these changes have made.

That said I agree I am missing my cool downs on my banners. I would only really drop Battle standard if a Rez was needed, but carrying two other banners have been a staple for my build in fractals.

I can see myself holding off on using them now if I know a boss is coming up to ensure they have the max uptime during the big fights.

I don’t understand what you’re talking about. Backpieces won’t replace gliders and we’ve seen no evidence that gliders do or don’t cover backpieces.

Pretty sure they will replace backpacks while gliding. It would look really peculiar if they didn’t and there were mishmashed glider/backpack combinations.

It’s likely but there is just no proof of it yet since beta backpieces were spineguards.

I also fail to see the point of this “LOL schadenfreude” topic but okay.
