Got the Guild Insignia recipe which says “Crafted from shimmering or tenebrous shards.” Since our guild is Lost Principle, I have Shimmering crystals. However when I went to craft, it’s asking for Tenebrous Crystals. What should I do?
I agree warrior is better then Engie.
However Xyonon is exaggerating (probably hates engie for a weird reason). The best i saw from warrior is 11k burn. Most of time it was down to 7k. Bleeds were pretty low sometimes a 3k spike, but really really rare). So basically 7-11k dps (+ power).
What does engie have? spikes of 16k burn (i admit they are rare, but they are there), stacks poison, confusion, and bleeds also very well in a good rotation. Longbow auto attack from warrior has always been one of the weakest damage things. It still is. 1200 per hit. A nade deals 1500 (sinister), PER single grenade (thats 3 per strike). Pistol 2 does 6k damage (though long channel).
A very well played engie (supported by a group that knows how to handle engies weaknesses, like a druid healing you every now and then), is about 80-90% as strong as the warrior. So reason to kick engie? not at all.
That being said, this video, convinced me, that warrior is the holy grail in raids. Wich is a bit sad. But my v iper armor for it is already half made.
If you mean Nike’s video, he peaks 15k burn on red guard and 13k on normal vale. While it takes a few seconds to build up, it’s more than 7k burns for sure.
Good luck OP! Once you get to the presents your health goes back to full, so don’t sweat thinking you’re almost dead before then.
If there are only Red presents, wait for them to all spawn then head straight forward from the present just to the right of center. You can wait there and see other people take it if you’re unsure which path I mean. If you see a present wiggle that means it’s going to pop soon. This isn’t a problem if you are on it because you can jump off, but if it is ahead of you, try moving to the row beside it and keep going forward.
If blue presents are there, take the 3rd column of presents from the left. They are usually the last ones to despawn.
Dodge roll as you approach the candy cane stick that leads down to the snowball track; there is a snowman to the right that can knock you off with wind if you don’t dodge.
Once you get to the snowballs you don’t need to be reckless; wait for them to pass and get to the safe spots.
At the end you need to jump on more presents but these are always there. Jump on the two blue ones, then travel along the candy cane, then more blue ones until you jump in the big box.
I hope this helps!

I’m weighing in that the Pact Leader you are trying to rescue throughout the Raid story is a valid candidate. At the moment he isn’t listed by name but is “well respected by his peers.” The whole thing has an air of mystery to it. Who ever the person is we are rescuing I feel will be of some importance.
I don’t mind moving the tablet but they NEED to make the tablet an instant summon. There is no reason to have to hit 6 twice.
I never have luck with Sword 5 in moving targets. The block is nice situationally, but Axe is so much better.
It would be improved on if there were less waves (it takes so long) and had swiftness boosts randomly throughout the map like in Snowball Mayhem.
Also what is the point of the mortar cannons on the far platform? One game I got one running but they are just too slow. By the time you aim and fire, the wave is moved or dead.
Agreed. I love Mayhem but the rewards are crap.
I don’t care. This is why companies don’t give definitive dates for releases until they are 100% sure it will happen because God forbid you say something is in the works or will come in a broad timeline. People rant as to where it is and the “broken promises.”
They said it was coming in HoT. They said you could start working on it in HoT release. They never said when the final recipe would be implemented.
You need to try a bit of everything to see what appeals to you most. Everyone has their own answer. Some people like PvP, some like WvW, some like raiding, some like doing Adventures, some like working towards legendaries, some like role playing, some like hanging out with their guild, some like making 20 alts.
^ What Blaine Tog said. Freedom of Speech is not as applicable as people seem to think it means.
That said its ridiculous to ban someone for spoilers. I’m getting flashbacks of FOR THE WATCH meme.
Honestly I’m terrible at Choir. I’m not perfect at JP either but it’s much less stressful for me to do JP than Choir. I suggest doing the thing that doesn’t make you want to break your keyboard in half after 30 minutes.
Seriously. There are a lot of mastery points gated behind insane tasks like the diving, getting all the cultural armor skins, and coin collections. To that point, there are complaints about those too, but there are also more mastery points than there are masteries. I think that’s worth mentioning that to get the collection item requires the JP as opposed to getting all masteries that doesn’t require the diving achievement (though I did get that over some other ones…).
But if you have physical limitations, either personally or due to bad ping/ISP, wouldn’t most Mastery tasks be just as difficult? Adventures, gliding, challenging fights- not just JPs or Diving. And these are much more vital to playing HoT content than a holiday shoulder aura.
I have friends who just can’t do raids because their glider fail on Gorseval is too much of a problem because they have bad pings. But you can’t ask Anet to remove the updraft a from the fight to cater to them..
Not to devalue what OP is saying, but what exactly do you expect Anet to do about this? You can’t expect all their content to be “easy” for everyone – that’s unrealistic. You also can’t expect them to make everything “hardcore” either. They need to add both. There is literally nothing they can do for other people’s ISP issues.
I just don’t understand what people expect to be done when it’s impossible to cater to everyone’s situation at all times. And all this hostility seems to be centered around, let’s face it, a vanity item. There was no where near as much disagreement when Masteries dropped. Where these same problems affect people doing the new content.
Revs don’t have weapon rotations, but utility rotations. Whether you run Shiro or Mallyx depends on what the team needs.
VG: Run Mallyx if you need to boon strip. Run Shiro if you need extra Breakbar skills.
Gor: Either work here; I’d lean more to Mallyx because Gor’s breakbar is infrequent.
Sabetha: If you are doing cannons/turrets, Shiro has good burst DPS since you’ll be away from any Mesmer quickness.
Make sure when you are in Glint you use up all your energy so Facet of Nature automatically goes on cooldown (4-5 seconds) rather than consuming it (20 second cooldown).
Well, after trying many many times to complete the WD JP last year and failed, I can see that these shoulders will not be available for me. I’ve never even done it one time let alone 3.
Have you tried the different routes? I started at one and was getting totally demolished by it. The game timer expired and reset, which put me on a different route. This one was MUCH easier for me to complete. I had no idea there were different paths before that.
Correct me if I’m wrong but those presents show up for everyone.. And disappear after a time; like the Skritt robber. It has nothing to do with other people stealing them.
The JP is its own instance with a bunch of other people, so it is totally possible to get a “full” world. It crashing you isn’t right though; I’d send a report for that.
10 bags per jumping puzzle. About 50 for beating the dungeon. If you’re really good at the JP that might be fastest, but a good group for the dungeon seems decent too since the challenges aren’t hard at all (I solo’d it last night to see what it was like. Took me like an hour solo having never done it before). Toy apocalypse takes too long it feels like and your team mates are random.
You can buy them with karma too.
What do you consider a lack of Quantity? The Gem store has been releasing new things nearly every other week since before HoT dropped, but especially now.
It may be that you are not aware that the ‘NEW!’ tags on many Gemstore releases are somewhat factually inaccurate, in that those items were previously released months or years earlier—they may be ‘new’, this month, but my post is largely about my experience of having been a long-time customer.
The earliest “new” item I’m thinking about is the focus fan skin. Wings are still pretty new. Gliders. BUNCH of new minis recently came out (tiger, wyverns, etc) at least 3+ outfits. At least 5 BLT skins sets ( which you get keys for gems so I consider that gem store.) That’s what I’m thinking off the top of my head in the past 4-ish months.
Maybe I’m mistaken since I took a year-ish break.
IMHO TD is the best map, BECAUSE is complicated
After all i LOVE JPs…anyway after you learn the main “ways” it becomes easy like any other map
TD is very interesting. I do like it; I just have no idea where I’m going.
Really didn’t like VB.
Then I got to TD.
Now VB feels like a dream.

It’s pretty obvious it’s a bug then. Why would they let people keep the bugged item? Trying to twist support’s arm to get what you want probably isn’t going to work out how you want it, so I suggest not buying a bugged item and reporting it.
I’m aware it’s a bug.
But people who weren’t aware and bought the Winter’s Presence orb from the TP for 800g not knowing it was a bugged Queen Bee; how are they going to be compensated?
It’s not an insane stretch to think ANet might actually add a legitimate orb version of Winter’s Presence to the game considering there’s one in it right now, albeit not intended.
Then they will have to contact support about it. This is a problem for them to resolve and if you haven’t bought it then I don’t see how it is a problem of your concern.
Look at it this way: You are asking and expecting a Dev response here hoping they will keep the Winter item. If one did come in and say “yes, we will give the winter item for those mistaken” suddenly everyone is going to buy the wrong item and say “oops I made a mistake /wink”.
I assure you, them keeping the bugged item is slim to none. If anything an offended party will get a gem compensation.
Please consider curly hair for both genders next time. Long and short styles. Please!
Ugly maps…? Well if that’s what you think. Frustrating is what I’d call them personally, but I never looked at them and thought “ew.”
Send me your Wintersday drinks if you go. o/

I’m surprised there isn’t more complaints about mastery points hidden behind JPs, which is a more core function right now. Shoulders are a luxury item.
Is the orb still called the same as the Bee? Either way you should send in a support ticket.
It’s almost as if they have limited man-power to work on things in the game or something…..
Seeing all this salt just makes me want to grind and get the achievement more. I’m more worried about needing 150 Mystic Coins.
If you have trouble with that insignificant cost, you should give up right now.
it’s 20g vs 1000g, just saying.
It’s not as easy as you’d expect since one present exactly give you one alcohol and worth exactly one point, which is a rather dumb design.
Oh- you can buy Mystic Coins?? Wow I never noticed. This just became a whole lot plausible, since I have no need or intention of buying drinks. Thought Coins were only from login rewards and couldn’t be bought.
Never did the holiday events last year so I’m enjoying myself quite a bit. Enjoying this more than wiping on Sabetha for 6 hours a night.

I understand your frustration but they never claimed to be adding the final recipe in this patch, did they?
So I’m new to Ranger with a Druid aimed for healing (Skirmish, NM, Druid) and I’ve been practicing while doing the DS meta but I’m finding very often my Bristleback going down much faster than my Tiger. Constantly. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong since Bristleback is ranged and I would assume out of direct damage more often.
That’s DS for ya. My guess might be since it stays stationary (for the most part), it leaves itself vulnerable to remaining in Sniper flame trail shots, Torment AOE fields, and M. Shadow Leaper poison fields.
Sniper trails seems to get my pets more-or-less because they are fired at another player’s position and my pet is in the line of fire. If it’s not that, then I don’t know.
Thanks for the reply and peace of mind it’s not just me. I’ll work on calling it to me more often to keep it out of crossfire.

Another Range option.
Facet of Nature’s +50% boon duration only applies to newly applied boons that are applied while the effect is on you. (So you can activate it, consume it and then immediately use Impossible Odds for some extra quickness).
Afaik superspeed out of combat is not faster than quickness out of combat.
That is good to know about newly applied boons; I wasn’t sure when it took affect. I’m thinking more about keeping it up so the Chrono’s Quickness lasts longer for everyone.
Edit: Realized Superspeed is ONLY movement speed and not attack speed. This makes more sense. Thanks.
(edited by cocowoushi.7150)
This is aimed towards group PvE play.
Basically I’m learning when is the best times to use these facets since the others are no-brainers. Should I be constantly using Nature for the boon duration? Or should I only use it when I notice I have a boon I want extended (Quickness, Protection)? Does activating it when I already have the boon affect my current boons, or only ones received while having the buff?
I also have been using Choas on cooldown when CC isn’t needed for the super speed when I see we don’t have Quickness. Is this right, or should I be using its Protection instead?
Ele. If you still want to be in a damage roll and not a support role. Plus you have about 5k less hp so your skills as a player are more important.
Sabetha seems to be full of questionable quirks. Many times her Flamewall will jump a whole 20 degrees in rotation for no reason.
She’s also very fickle about who gets the timed bomb after her Flamewall. She should target the closest person, but even being practically on top of her doesn’t ensure she will target you after Flamewall. The one/s she uses after that work as intended.
Raids… I’d love to do more with my time but all I manage to do lately is log in at reset, do daily fractals, maybe squeeze in some daily pvp before its raid until midnight. Once we can get Sabetha down it’ll give me more time to relax the rest of the week.
It’s not required. You don’t even need a condi-heavy group.
But how is it challenging if it’s made easy?
I think the most important thing when it comes to Raids is to do it with friends. PUGing it will likely not be a fun experience. My current raid group consistes of some guildies, some friends, and some people we met from LFG (who are now friends.) Playing with friends eliminates any serious gear checks or assumptions there is only one kind of team comp.
I also don’t understand something: if people (not saying OP) want easier difficulties for the raids, then how does that make it Challenging content?
Personally I think the first wing is well done; it’s the right amount of damage, skill, and mechanics. It’s nice to see the progression your squad makes from the first try to the later tries. Especially Sabetha is basically a big trust exercise for the squad.
I’d be astounded if slick shoes was working as intended. One skill shouldn’t negate a breakbar. If what you’re saying is true I imagine they fixed slick shoes.
Last night Slick Shoes was still getting rid of about 70-80% of the bar on its own. I’m curious to see how much Mesmer Moa Signet would take out (not that anyone would use it) since I believe it’s been considered to destroy breakbars on its own too.
I don’t play engi so it would be nice to know if Slickshoes changed on anything else’s breakbar.
Our group notices last night that Gor’s breakbar wasn’t being completely taken out by Engi’s Slickshoes. We had two engis try and both couldn’t solo his bar, when the day before patch they could do it easily
Has anyone else notice this change? Is it a buff to Gor’s Breakbar or tweeking to Slickshoes in general?
I believe they can also be Feared.
Druid had amazing heals that Ventari can’t compare. However, Ventari does have a moveable projectile block which is amazingly good in its own way, but it’s situational.
