Idk if I’d want main- hand shield, but I do wish we could have some more skills for off- hand only weapons. (Shield, WH, Torch, Focus). I love smashing my shield into things, I just wish I had more ways to do it.

It might of been planned, but the romance done it that show was horrible. Only Bolin and Varrick was decent and it didn’t take their character development away unlike Mako or Korra. Asami well was just there to be there besides being a engineer specialist. It got nothing to do with hetero or non-hetero couples. It was the story and how the writers presented it. Who knows maybe the potential of that show was gutted down due to Nickelodeon stipulations. However it just shows lesbians are still easy to implement in a story than gays. Not that it’s a bad thing, but it’s redundant if you ask me.

(This is wildly off topic but I agree, the relationships in LoK were nowhere near as good and fluid as ATLA, probably because of the shorter run. And many of them were bad, but I’d argue that Korra and Asami’s relationship was the one the did well. It was complicated and matured over the seasons, which I felt was more satisfying. Bolin’s character took a terrible blow in development because of Korra/Mako being the main focus. Then putting him an abusive relationship wasn’t great. I’m glad he got his development back in later seasons. I’m also so glad Zhu Li stood up to Varric, though I think she forgave him too easily, but she clearly loved him. I think it’s a shame to claim Asami is just the non-bender mechanic. She is very supportive, selfless, and has complex relationships with many characters- especially her father. She’s strong and independent and accomplished. Believe me, I didn’t like her at first either but she soon changed mind as she developed as a character.)

Back on topic, I think the problem is that people think they have to include a minority and then shower it with sparkles and flashing lights and go LOOK LOOK WHAT WE HAVE!! When that’s just not the right way to do it. Minorities are like any other character and should be just as deep, but they just have different backgrounds/aspects about them. Having representation doesn’t mean there has to be a “hysteria” to meet some quota. Just write the character and add it as something about them, otherwise people get the impression that they need to be treated as unicorn tears when really just having the character there, that someone can relate to, is usually enough. In a story like GW2, these aspects shouldn’t define them as characters. (In other stories their difference might be the focus, but I don’t think that’s the case here.)

Don’t sweat the PUGs. Every one I’ve been in has been very patient and understanding that we all need to start somewhere. Ask for help or for them to explain what to do if you’re not sure; every fractal usually has its own mechanic you need to learn. It doesn’t take more that a couple minutes to explain at most.

I did find it funny Braham is the only male member of Destiny’s edge 2.0
Whats Frostbite?

its even more noticeable if your are a female pc. Quotas are dumb. but when you line up and its 5 to 1 it looks funny.

Welcome to the world that female gamers have been living in for decades.

I can just imagine how frustrating it must be for Non-binary players, who get next to zero representation.

I have never in my life felt the need to play a trans character in game to represent myself.
That is not how or why people play games. They don’t need to be represented at all.

Also there has been ample female player choice for decades, in the vast majority of games. nevermind games like this with create your own character.

I’m glad you feel this way. I have quite a number of trans/non-binary friends who don’t feel the same way. It’s also my understanding that some people have a strong connection to characters/games they can relate to. That’s not always the case, but I know it is for some people.

I’m not sure I would call it a “vast majority” when it is clearly not the majority. But if I’m incorrect, I’d love to see the list; I could always use more games to play.

I can’t say much for the other girls Kasmeer and Majory. Their relationship felt forced in my opinion similar to Korra and Asami.

lmao get the hell out of here, that ship was planned WAY in advance by the creators and the hints were so obvious after season 2. Just because it wasn’t a smooth course doesn’t mean it was forced, it means it was REALISTIC.

How many countless movies/games do a hetero pair suddenly fall in love!!! The crisis is over and GUESS WHAT I LIKE YOU! I might have just met you but I love you!!!!

Some people will call that forced (and it might be.)
Maybe the character/s were too shy/stessed/occupied prior to the victory.
Maybe they shouldn’t be held to the same romantic standards as others; what about Demiromantic or Grey-Romantic people who are very selective about who they care about?
What about people who fall in love easily?
You can’t say none of these aren’t possible because they ARE possible.

Just because it’s a non-hetero couple doesn’t mean it’s any different.

Full set of exotic armor and first weapon set comes to about 70-80g without runes (and you can got with cheap runes first). At about 10-15g per hour farming Silverwastes or even doing other things you’ll have the gold in about 4-5 hours tops. Maybe 10 hours if you do other stuff like dungeons etc.

How is this not considered “easy to get”?

Because you need good gear and great game knowledge to farm remotely near that efficiently?

You can’t even reliably get into dungeons with exotic gear so…

That’s just not true. I haven’t been asked once for my gear in dungeons. Most ppl don’t give a crap. If your party is one of the elitist wannabes, leave it.

Seconded. I’ve never been asked to ping my gear, even in Zerk “required” groups. As long as you don’t keep screwing up and are actively taking part in the dungeon, most people don’t care as long as they can get through the path.

Actually, thinking about it, since you use GS almost exclusively, get a Bloodlust And Strength Sigil instead. It will be much better suited than a Battle one.

Now this is just my opinion. I’ve only just recently got back into the game too (2 year break for me) so I know how it feels to play catch up on a budget. Given how armor and stats are going to be changing when HoT hits, I suggest the following:

Soldier gear might be best suited for you. It’s not as expensive as Zerk and its better suited for World Bosses and SW survivability. (I say this because I have been switching my Soldier armor over to Zerker and the SW hurt noticeable more the more Toughness I lost.) You’ll want exotic quality because Ascended just isn’t a good enough reason right now for armor if you don’t have 500 in Armorsmithing and aren’t looking to do Fractals.

Which means you’ll either want to look for Dragonic gear or you could get similar quality from dungeons. AC and SE both have Soldier armors. You could also look into getting some Zerk pieces from dungeons (CoF, CoE, Arah) if you want more damage.

I’ve never been asked when joining a PUG to ping my Zerk gear, even if they state they want it, so I wouldn’t worry too much about it; just know some groups have expectations and will list “Zerk” in their description if that’s what they want. Join or don’t, up to you, but it won’t be too much of a hassle to find a group to do dungeons.

Treat yourself and get a good weapon/ trinket. Zerk ones, because you’ll want a decent crit rate for Forceful Greatsword. If you want to try doing some level 1-9 Fractals you can get real nice Zerk rings (Red Ring of death, Crystalize Ring) for just 10 Pristine tokens a piece. If you see a Fractal daily, do it. They’re like dungeons and it won’t take you that long to get enough tokens for those rings.

A Crafted Zerk sword off the TP will run you ~4g 80s. If you have the Mystic coins saved up from logging in and enough Skill points, you could instead make a Mystic Claymore which, buying just the blades/handles, will only run you ~2g 83s. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_Claymore

I never use Rifle so I can’t give you much advice here. Same advice I guess.

Runes/Sigils can be expensive but there are some alternatives. Get rid of the Sigil on the Mystic Claymore if you go that route. It’s crap compared to other options. Battle is the usual go-to because of might granting on swap (which means it’s one of the more expensive ones). Also use Superior quality, it’s worth it.

Runes you have a few options. Strength is the preferred Meta, but 6 of those will get costly. Hoelbrak is almost just as good, a little cheaper, but not by much. Pack is also popular if you’re planning to always be grouped up for what you’re doing, though Swiftness isn’t super critical in PvE as it is in PvP/WvW. Personally, because I started with Soldier Armor too, I made up for my crit rate/damage with Eagle runes because they were pretty cheap (~1g per vs 8g for Strength). They’ve served me pretty well but now that I have Zerk gear and transfered them over, I have between 50-70% crit chance depending on buffs and over 200% crit damage.

I’d say do dungeons and get your armor and money, daily Teq for money and chance of exotic weapon drop, and SW if you are sturdy enough.

I wish I could give you better idea on prices but I crafted most of my armor and I’m still learning, too.

What sort of PvE are you expecting to do? Open World? Dungeons? Fractals? SW zerging? All of the above?
What are your Crafting levels like and do you have interest in getting gear that way?
Which weapon/s do you use on your switch?

Without these answers I can tell you right now that the “meta” is using all, or almost all, Beserker gear for Dungeons and Fractals, as DPS is considered the best option. Some PUGs will kick you out if you don’t have Zerk gear.

Open World content like world bosses you might want Soldier gear, since bosses can’t be crit’d and the extra toughness is nice for survivability in SW.

Runes have more wiggle room. Let me know what you want to do.

Please let us use 2 Major or Adept traits...

I’d suggest instead of asking for double adept/major traits in a line (I think it’s safe to say it’s just not going to happen. They put too much work in this new system to change it) make suggestions for better Grandmaster traits. The devs clearly want feedback on the kinds of traits classes get, but the likelihood of them changing the entire new mechanic just isn’t high.

HoT is a physical box.

Which means its not going to have a release date announced without 3-4 months of advanced notice to retailers. August is now the absolute earliest and even that gets less and less likely every day.

Can’t say I remember the last time I saw a physical box for a PC exclusive game. Maybe it’s just not a thing here anymore but viable other places.

I think we’ll get more info for E3, even if it’s just Beta dates.

So now i HAVE to get signet mastery or something? because the active is still a TERRIBLE amount of healing.

Lower passive, higher when activated plus you can’t get conditioned for a duration of time.

Q: Will the fall damage trait be removed and implemented into each class as a basic class feature?

most logical guess, fall damage will be tied to some core mastery. The special effects other than reduction will probably disapear

Take this info as you will, but Revenant beta tests showed to have a Fall reduction trait option. This information might now be out of date.

Absolutely not. If someone is REALLY being abusive, use the report feature. Not knowing what to do, being casual, being elitist, being they wrong class, the wrong gear, the wrong level, not enough power/ap are NOT reasons Anet support should be getting “abuse” spam cloging up their tickets.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that the GM have better things to do with their time then going over “I was grief kicked because I didn’t have 5k AP” tickets.

Then add the fact certain stats such a +boon duration are not on armour but were tied to trait lines. How will Anet address that? or will they at all? Most likely they will expect us to eat the stat & trait loss without having any option to do anything about it.

The fact is we don’t know yet. Just because they haven’t revealed it doesn’t mean they decided to scrap it.

AP being a requirement isn’t a good fix imo. Anet has stated, they would rather not segregate their dungeon community and this is one of the reasons why we don’t have Hard Mode dungeons (like in GW1).

Ap measure is stupid, I agree.
But as I wrote earlier there should be a requirements filter (similar to TP filter maybe?) where you choose dungeon path, level, profession, gear rarirty and maybe gear prefix (however I dunno about last one because some people mix gear) so only people that fill the req can see LFG

Please consider the consequences of what you’re asking for. This would at best create long queue times for new players, at worst make it impossible for them to find a group for a dungeon.

People who like to play a necro/ranger will find it hard to find a group.

What about people who dont go for ascended gear or maybe not even full exotics?

This change will drive people away! and for what? so that people get to finish a dungeon a few minutes quicker?

If you want a specific set of filters for your team create your own group. The LFG tool is there so people can find other people to play with. Restricting their pool based on filters would make the system worst not better.

This. Either ask friends/guildies if you don’t want to “take the risk” of asking strangers to your party. Does it suck that OP lost their progress? Of course. Should they have understood that people joining is basically a blind grab bag? Yes. Assuming that AP = skill/ experience and denying people spots before even giving them a chance? Also dumb.
