You should mention that in fractals 4x, wile others tank the svanirs in the icestorm fractal you can be firin the torches + AOEing Contitions+Epidemic from the back, they just melt. then… go with x4 warriors +1 mesmer in fractal 4x and get you pace melted.

Epidemic does zero damage to its target, unlike a bomb. It takes two to tango.
All I was trying to say is that epidemic can go from being indispensible to useless pretty quick as the combat environment changes from target-rich to a boss fight. That is the risk/reward system the developers follow. If it was useful all the time, it would probably be nerfed. However, in team play with a bunch of high single-target dps builds, an epidemic condition build can plug an important gap in capability.

as a necro you dont use sigil of energy on staff? try it, its a miracle!
Nope the wraith mask has a slight tint around the eyes. Shows up differently on different skin colours though. So you could try a makeover kit and see if you can make it less visible with a differnt skin colour.
True story, try this, ive the 3 necro, sylvary and elementalist mask in bank and they are awesome (escept mesmer ones XD) but they are good to have XD.

I would recomend this build to new players. It has high EHP, is ranged and doesn’t loose much efficiency if you use all your skills on cooldown. Of course you can do it wrong, but it won’t hurt that much.
Othewise, if you want AoE as a necromancer, go hybrid. Have you ever heard of this Nemesis-guy? He wrote a really good hybrid guide. You should watch it.
Guide is not bad. If you want to play conditions, thats a good way to do it. (Well, I would use Dhuumfire, since nothing but guardians F1 causes burning in the average party, but anyway.)
The problem is: in PvE you need both AoE-Burst (trash) and sustained singletarget dps (boss). And this build has neither. Have I ever mentioned, that my warrior (in organized groups) deals more sustained AoE-damage with greatsword autohits than every conditionbased necromancer? Like, 20% more damage?
maybe on boss, but would like to see someone (not necro) that kills Ascalon fractals 48 mobs baster than my necro, or Shaman spawns, or the icebrod guys in the first part, or maybe… the 4 golems in the last part of the harpy fractals, everithing about conditionmancer in PVE is not about the damage on 1-2 targets its about our UNIQUE ability to almost instagib X6 mobs (Yeh you heard me right X6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i just use plague in WvW for Disabling teams with poison (no good heal), Cripple (no you wont move fast), Chill (traited, no, you absolutely WONT nove fast), and Blind (miss miss miss miss). while my team Wrack them all without taking risk of tanking high damage
in gw2 Guardians are ’’Good’’ but Guardians in general are guardians of ancient knowledge, about faith, about wisdom and about zeal and those things are not Legally GOOD, they may be Evil, or Neutral.

I think that MM is the best one and I’m the last man standing in dungeons.
In PvP , I can kill any one ( I killed 4 players at once while camping ).
You just need to know how to control them and keep them alive.

Soldier armor ( mixed with Knight ) will grant you much Toughness and some Vitality so you won’t worry if they killed ur minions.
begin the fight with staff ( land all marks ) then switch to dagger/focus ( you will get might when switching ) , use 4th and 5th skills , 3rd to immobilize your foe , transform to DS and use 5th skills and 3rd ( to increase 5th skill damage by 200% ) , after that use 4th skill to heal your minions , 2nd to tele to your foe , return to your normal form and spam dagger chain attack , then switch to staff …… and so on.. ( This is how I play )
(Remember that Dagger chain attack is the strongest attack for necros even than axe )without considerin gvulneravility yes…

I personally wouldn’t use Flesh Wurm for running though. By the time you’ve finished casting, you’ve pretty much already reached the location of the flesh wurm, if you’re running while casting. Spectral Wall is great though. Nothing will follow you through that. Just drop it in front of you, so you get the protection, and you’ll easily lose pursuing baddies.
But Spectral Walk and DS are pretty much the only thing you need.
this, + remember yo can use plague just for the stability with bliding/creepling and if you got 10 points in curses you can get the trait that you chill when you blind.
Remember this for this class and anyone, ive guardian, mesmer, thief and necro, there isnt a standard ’’something’’ in you bar/traits, swap them for every situation you face.
like how i do on ara lupi on guardian, i use a hammer for worms, and staff for empowering mates, but when iknow its going to swith to phase 2, i go back, swap hammer for scepcer/shiel/focus and return the fight and faceroll lupi, play with every skill you got as utility everyone of them are there cause they ‘’have an utility for ’’something’’ ’’someday’’ ‘’in some situation’’.

How to beat those Zerker builds out there? Poison their kitten so they cant heal efficiently, and weaken them so they have 50% less damage output, then throw any number of others conditions (no matter if youre Zerker too) so they can erase eficiently your poison and weakness. and Done
the +50% crit chance on DS is only on DS, and in DS you dont get healed not even by lifesteal
I am close to finishing a full set of Celestial gear just to experiment with it and because I like making new clothes. Will post a comment in a couple of weeks. Have six days left, I think, but will not be online for a week. The new armor is based on the Dry Bones style and I still need to define the stat set for the Pheonix skins sitting in the bank.
I really wish there were gossamer nodes like there are for ancient wood and orihalcum, though. I use more gos than I find.
There is a node of infinite Gossamer in the Trading Post, you just have to with how many you want and trhow the $ in the shrine and youll get a mail about you miracle

After DS ends you can’t use your heal and utility skills at least for 2-3 secs, that makes DS so much useless. Died a lot of times because I couldn’t heal or use my skills after DS.
Another big problem are the necro stun breakers (SA and SW) They don’t break stuns like “knock down” that makes it so much useless again.
it has passed me before, i enter DS with about 10% HP, iuse my DS to continue things and with the CD of my heal on my mind, i turn off ds and then ive to wait about 2-3 secs till the heal skill + utilities appear on the bar so i can be healed but… im alreaddy dead …
necro is not op, some players know how to use the necro and fighting with other people that dont know how efectively use their clases, are OP
the Question is.. can REGEN HEAL us or DS while in DS? no? Then why in the kitteng hell do the damage overflow? if they change it so we could get heals while in ds then the change is ok.

i dont like, the way it is is PERFECT, remember we are the class of conditions, and i dont mean the kittened bleed, i mean CONDITIONS; even as a power necro i like my condtiosns to LAST, as a power necro i like DS and as a DS user i like having there the crit damage, its not like building a thief, or building a warrior were everithing is straight forward, if you wanna be sussesful as necro you have to see deeper in the traits to really see how devs wanted us to see the things, y do you think they did a tree of crit chance + dondi damage? its cause as a condition mancer you will need presision for barbed presision. and again, i really like it the way it is
Remember that they think necro is a just a class for using nice armor skins and taking pics of th elogging screen they just test the content in eles, guards and warriors, all the other clases are just for looking good, (they test in thieves too but just in pvp content)

I just tested it in the Heart of the Mists and they didn’t seem to.
Remember that on swap sigins procs when youre ‘’in battle’’ so you have to be in battle and dodge x2 times + F1 for testing if this works on DS or not
Just make sure to use the trait that apply chill when you blind in conjunction of well of Darkness
well i use sigil of energy ON EVERY CHAR I HAVE, on my guardian staff/focus, shield. on my thief xbow/pistol, on my mesmer focus/staf/GS, on my necro staff/focus/WH/dagger,
i just cant live with that xtra dodge in fights, i dont really need those on my guardianhaving 101% time vigor but its neat to triple dodge on lupi XD. but in Necro its… AWESOME!,

thats why ive never done the story past entering the order in any of my characters.. if defeatinng Zaithan doenst resolve the problem… they why care defeating him? they should make division of TIME as in Perfect World (Yes, that PAY TO WIN game, wich has the richiest lore ive ever meet in a game). it has the present time but has a Crono key wich you could use to move to the past of a zone (Heavens Tear).
So they could make a key wich you could use for entering the Or Map After you and your party memers has allreaddy Defeated him, so you could see the zone Healing and less Risen in the zone. as the thing thats happening in the karka land.

The two now being connected affects that simple bit of style, taste, and lore for me, and really takes away from what truly made the Necromancer so unique to me. I really just think it should not be connected to Health in such a way. Before, It allowed us to negate huge burst damage, and allowed us to shroud dance, where we could pop in and out of it as often as possible with as little Life Force as possible and use it very affectively. Now, it just seems like a little bit of extra health, that we use at the expense of all out healing and utilities and weapon skills.
I agree. It feels like an interesting game play mechanic was removed from the game. I used to love popping in and out of Death Shroud as well, it was great. It added some depth to the class…. and now it’s gone. And all for a pax tournament. I don’t even play pvp!
Ditto, I’ve mained necro from the beginning and loved DS for damage mitigation. I would pop into it just before the big hit from boss fights, survive it, then continue. I find that now I’m dropping in dungeons MUCH more because they will not only knock me out of DS, but either down me or reduce my life significantly. Meanwhile my mesmer friend activates blur, Guardian has Aegis or any number of other boons, Warrior goes invulnerable, Thief uses one of his dodges because of insane vigor or just stealths, etc.. Meanwhile I’m out of dodges and best I can do is my DS which no longer protects me in such fights!
Game Masters/Designers/Developers: We dont care if you die, we dont care at all you know? we just care about our PAX event, we dont even care if you leave the game, cause we will make this MMO a E-Sports even if most your our gamers base dont give a kitten about it. we dont even care if you are lv 1 or lv 80 cause you can join the spvp even at lv 1 and just play that mode so next year you can join us in PAX, more important without being redundant… WE DONT CARE ABOUT PVE AT ALL!!!

well, fractals teached me how & to dodge, im 45+ on my thief. and in lupi on my guard i dodge nonstop having vigor all the time, my necro is lv kitten… but i just cant imagine HOW ill be able to hand lupi in the fight without having nothing there dying for getting LF (of couse lf when a mate dies but… -.- im not that emo), Can DS aborb the damage of the green buble that doesnt let you dodge over it?
It is 2 stacks on the initial impale then it goes up in stacks capping at 5 then decreases the same way back down to 2 stacks and then goes away.
I have a mesmer, thief, and warrior tbh the easiest application of torment is the necro. Thief has it on p/d skill but its 2 stacks that require you to be in melee range kind of meh.
Mesmer block is pretty good but pets can set it off and you miss the application.
the warrior one is pretty good but it is single target while the necro one is aoe then you can epi it. Warrior condi builds needed a new condition before it was just bleeds and burns if you ran bow with sword. Most people run builds now that can wipe 1 condition pretty easily.
Dont get me wrong but in my eyes condition warrior is as a healing thief… they are not supposed to exist XD

I use to run 30 pts in SR. Stopped a while back. The stability in DS is really helpful. But i no longer find I needed it. I know dungeons well enough to not rely on the safety of DS. I still have 15 points in SR so I still get last gasp which is nice. Although if I ever get round to soloing lupi on necro. I probably will go back to 30/10/0/0/30 for that fight.

No, thankfully. Which is why cliffs were considered the necro’s only escape mechanism.

sometimes you cant be 100% in melee, 50% crit chance + fury isnt 100% crit chance, 50% crit chance +DS =100%, wells on ds = 100% crit chance too
