Sign me up for the “I hate geo-ip” club. Google does this all the time, but they do have an means available for you to turn it off.

AFAIK the only way you’re going to get it to stop doing that is to proxy to an english-speaking country.

In another post, we found out why.

You are only supposed to get that skin via your Personal Story, in a specific story path/branch.

So, they reverted the weapons that were obtained otherwise.

If you like the skin, you need to join the Order of Whispers in your Personal Story and purchase it.

There’s nothing to compensate for. You were never supposed to have that skin anyways, unless you went that path in your story and paid specifically for it.

Your pet comes out any time you take damage or enter combat. You can put him back shortly after leaving combat (or if you just took fall damage, immediately).

It would be nice if there is an option, but I most definitely don’t want it disabled. Would also be nice if it didn’t function for fall damage, but only damage from mobs or players.

Try turning the catalyst AI off/down and see if you still get them?

I specifically was curious if you could use the skins you buy in pve in pvp. Kinda ruins the point of pve if I cant use my gear in pvp.

SPvP is it’s own little world. If you want more interaction with PvE, go do WvW.

Your bank should support MBNA Shopsafe. If they don’t, ask them to.

In reality you can use the Trading Post to make way more than vendor price, but when the TP is down it looks to me like you have to carry around 18 different tools to make profit.

Or just a bit of patience, and sell it when the TP is back up.

If you can’t find Lion’s Arch for some reason, queue up for WvWvW. When you get there, you’ll see a Gate that can take you back to Lion’s Arch.

Go to the south docks area of Lion’s Aarch and you should see a bunch of gates going to each race’s capital. Starting area is usually just outside.

Important to note that your attack simply needs to originate in, terminate in, or pass through the combo field.

You can also combo your own fields.

Here are what all the field types and finisher types do.

WvWvW: The shorter range on the shortbow makes it a lot harder for me to hit targets without walking into AoE. It’s also just about impossible to hit people on the walls with the shortbow.

As well, if one of them comes after me, I can Point-Blank them back into the meatgrinder.

If you want to go melee, one thing to consider that doesn’t seem to apply in any other MMO (except Terra) – if there is someone or a mob in the way, the hit will strike them instead of you.

So, as long as you’re on a server where everyone knows instinctively what they’re supposed to do, there’s no problem.

But if you’re on a server where they don’t, you shouldn’t expect any sort of coordination, or attempt any (by the way, ‘coordination’ != ‘zerg’; I have no idea why some of you are interpreting it that way).

In short, if you’re on a server that’s not full of PvP guilds, just don’t bother with WvWvW is what several of you are saying.

That’s not very helpful.

It will only be messy at first. Once the matching system is got everyone figured out, you’ll be playing with other clueless worlds, while all the PvP-heavy worlds will be busy fighting each other.

Down is not dead. You’re not actually dead till you get the WP re-spawn button.

I would report it as an exploit.

Or if you can get a bunch of people involved, lead the mobs over and see if you can’t get them to attack the idler. He comes back and finds he’s been dead for 2 hours, he might not do it again.

Keep in mind your entire world gets various bonuses for being on top in WvWvW.

It behooves you to stay on top, as it helps everyone.

Trying to read 0×0? Sounds like a pointer being used either without proper initialization or after “deleting” it.

If it looks like you might get hit, move.

Even if the mob is targeting someone else, if you are in the way you are going to take the hit.

Sounds like your ISPs are to blame.

Leapfile may do the job for you guys. My own company uses it to get around customer’s unreasonable email attachment restrictions.

An incorrect action done with intent is still incorrect. It’s a bug.

I’ve noticed that the launcher strips file permissions from gw2.exe, Gw2.dat, and Gw2.tmp.

This is dangerous, as it allows any user (including unauthenticated users!!) to modify the files.

If I manually correct this, the launcher reverts the changes I made on the next launch.

I’ve come up to a boss that was almost dead, got one hit in, and walked away with a gold.

Other times I’ve been there since the start and gotten a bronze.

Well there was definitely something wrong. Why it keeps recurring though…?

Just remember. At launch time, people who can play are playing. You only see the complainers here and it will be like that for a while.

Have you considered CHANGING YOUR PASSWORDS!?

Not enough by far. You should let it run for at least one pass, preferably at least 2. Let it run overnight is my suggestion.

I find it hilarious that the chat filter applies to non-player text, like NPC speech :P

Heck, revive downed NPCs if you have nothing better to do. As you say, more things for the mobs to get distracted by.

- Check if your skills can start or finish combos. There’s plenty of info on the wiki under Combos. Makes things even more fun if you’re with a ton of people like the group events, trying to land the combos!

Lets you boost your participation even if you’re not directly dealing damage!

Binding “walk” to a key, and learning to use the mouse to walk forward as well, can really help out in jumping puzzles.

They will balance out eventually.

Once people stop flopping around and decide what they want to do:

The active WvW servers will get matched to each other. The moderates will get each other, and the non-participants will get matched together.

As well, when are you looking? On my own server, map control swings wildly about based on the time of day. Usually when I get on we are getting mauled, but hours prior to that we have dominance.

It’s not intended to be static. Front lines change.

I don’t think you should have to wait 2 weeks. You reached out proactively.

While on the subject of passwords.

Creating good memorable passwords is not intuitive. I know it’s a comic, but it’s a good way to do it.
