Time for fullcapping theifs to get more mmr than players.
Ele/scrapper are the best but will be in every match so you can’t really carry playing them.
oldschool elixer s is kinda legit for the extra stunbreak and invis.
Only good assuming enemies are gonna time your stuff perfectly anyway; when not casting would be not forcing out their evasion.
OP is gonna be playing at low mmr and with patience he should be able to 1v1 80% of players since they blow condi clear or don’t have any at all.
I know you’re kittening Olrun, but do people in legendary really not stunbreak + dodge immediately if they get headbutt? There goes your burst.

wars have the lowest skill cieling for mechanics but a really high skill floor/cieling for gamesense.
MACEBOW:
Go to metabattle and play the macebow, but switch some things out. Take the wanderers amulet over rabid, on the mace use geomancy + hydromancy, on bow use smoldering + doom. Swap out the boulder smash for sigil of might. Take the flame buff for GM zerker so that your bow shotgun and f1s hurt more (they actually good follow up dmg)
Basically you try to be patient with your headbutt and skullcracks. They hit super hard but any good enemy knows to try and early roll to throw you off. So you need to be creative to land your stuff.
As an example, open with bow, get in shotgun range and 2. If they dodge roll back you can either bow5 or headbutt, then switch to mace. If you ever see mes/theif/guard/war/rev blocks, pop might and get in a free bow 5 or skull crack.
Wars are actually one of the weaker classes, but they have kittened damage and above average tankyness, but you actually have to land your hits. meta rev has 6 disjoints. Meta druid has quite a few too. Everybody else has 3-4. Against theif just have your bow out and use your anti condi for adren and spam bow f1 for heal.
I would honestly suggest you play other classes before playing war so that you know when they have holes in their block strings.

You got a 4 boon removal on a 24s cooldown. Ele has 3 insta toughness and overcharge.
Your 4 boon remove wont even punch through to ele toughness if they have rev + druid with them. Hell you could cc somebody on your well and double sig and they’d still have toughness by the time they are out.
Here’s the thing: They poop tier in pubs and top tier in tourny. The meta is necro/druid/rev/ele, then either mes or guard. At higher mmr’s they might be better, and at low mmr you can squeze out cheesy 1v1’s you shouldn’t be able too.
lol 150 wouldnt work. That’s a meta match mess up. It would need to be 250.
That’s like the entire point of an extended off season.
You should be dramatically reworking boonstripping so that dealing with teh 800 boons druid/rev/ele dropped is skill based and not gimping those classes (who are dependant on those boons). Right now boonstripping is literally only a thing in a luck based necro build.
IMO increase the effectiveness of the boons, reduce their durations, and make might skipped over unless it has 7 stacks.
1. Pick one of the other less powerful classes, like warrior
2. Save one of your six disjoints for the hard hitting enemy condi drops like skull crack and necro spin.
3. stand near your shout ele (only works for small amounts of condis)

The gist is that you don’t want an gameplay seconds where there is something uncounterable. They failed at this, but no invuln caps is a step in the right direction.
Ele here. Our class is kinda op, it is countered by condi though.
ele and druid are actually the reason condi war/necro are so viable atm, and they have higher winrates at high mmr than low mmr.
IMO the best fix would be overhaul boonstripping.
Like right now you can get 40 boons on somebody, and there’s no way to boonstrip our 3-8 toughnesses, so we just drop those before somebody does phys dmg.
Ele spamming toughness is the only actual reason condis are stronger than power dmg atm.
Remove ALL boonstripping from mes (they already are cancer in 1v1), and give the most garbage trees on other classes a boonstripping option so that they can choose to kitten themselves a bit for some better dps if they are really skilled.

It’s matchup based lad. You should know what the matchup is and play it humbly. If you know you will lose to the two enemies, either split or die on point if you cant run. If they have no damage, then bunker to the side of point. Forcing two enemies to stay on point to babysit you is a bad trade for them even if capped, so just run around cover and survive while they waste their time.
As engi/condiwar/DH to side bunkering, as power shiro attempt burst then split, if mes/thief split.

Its unranked. Nobody cares enough to swap, they just want practice on theif.

Don’t just do open world pvp normally though, then it would just be thief spam as usual.
Firstly, disallow 24/7 wvw matches (make it like 4-6 times a day), and then do open world objectives like rift does. This means wvw players can be seen zerging on a normal day. Up the guild rewards system, so that guilds will compete for power over a server. So basically pvp would be the games main attraction, like it already is because it’s guild wars.
As for small skirmishes, have an actually good honor/rewards/infamy system. So players that are scaled down 80s bullying new users actually have something to lose for their transgressions, ala honor reward system that gives you exclusive cosmetics/dyes that you can only wear when your honor is very high.
Make extra cosmetics for theifs/mes, so they have extra reward to not just go full cancer, and consider a retreat to be some sort of loss.
Salt is not an important part of open world pvp. It’s about making every little part of the worlds terrain actually important and memorable by forcing it to be used as combat jukes.

Simply remove the force spawns mechanic and give one team a small points/min bonus for holding mid.
Also, make more maps like moba map, but make optional ways to fix build bias, such as buffing archer minions.
stone stunbreaker and magnetic auras are great for denying blocks.
Nothing against you OP, we can tell by your portals/ blinks that you know what your doing. but this video proves arena net’s kittenation.
I mean, he just casually got a kill but throwing a max range gs out and decided to put it in a fragmovie.
They may be solid opponents but they definitely aren’t good fights.
Ele/war player here. Our class is sleeper OP, if not the strongest in the game. Only weakness is condi clear and poor stacking, but every team that cares about winning should run 1. Their healing/support is around 3/4x as strong as druid.
Ele problems are being boring to play and only having 1 viable build. Ele easilly has the worst dps builds of any class in spvp.

I know I destroy revs if they mess up, but retribution revs that know how to fight wars should easilly be able to survive against macebow war, normally at least. They have more invulns than there are skull cracks.
Stick to atacking necro , u will not have any of those problems, but becarefull because necro has a second life bar…..
Both of you are massive scrubs. First of all, you don’t focus necro because they have toughness. You swap bursts on ele, druid and engi. You need to set up and burs quickly, like rev rolling into an unblockable stun whilst necro gets a spin off.
No idea how you’d lose 27 games in a row. I’d eventually win a 4v5 every 5-10 games.
Just swapped out boulder smash with signit of might on macebow war. No idea how I played without it. It’s not physically possible to kill mes/guard/rev that would just save invluns and dodges for your mace attacks.
Anybody drmatically improve thier build by going slightly off meta?
Unranked players are 10~% worse on average and sometimes 40% worse than ranked players. But you can also play the achievment maps in unranked. So farm achievment maps on your worst classes and play ranked for git gud.
Did you do raids, Migraine, completed fractal Ad Infitum?
If you want difficulty, do some of that. If you find that easy, come back and complain to your hearts’ content.
But I want the games main content to be fun. Fractals seem to just be gear/grinding, raids are alright, but a small part of the game.
It’s really easy atm. Like, the difficulty of traversing heart of thorns content should be the difficulty of level 1-25 zones (make thiefs do pocket raptor dmg), and it should get harder from there. You wouldn’t even need to balance anything else, the price of tough to get goods would go way up.
Right now open world is mostly a waste of time and not an accomplishment. The only thing hard is finding the direction you’re supposed to go for new users, outside of that its 80 levels of auto attacking trashmobs.
This doesn’t make sense to me because from what you’ve posted I’d see human females more than any other and that’s not the case.
I’m also female who plays female characters and there are quite a few females in my guild. Actually the leader of the guild is female. I think there are more females playing than the numbers show.

In order for the more played race/sex to be the majority, there’d only have to be 2 total combinations. Something with a 30% pickrate could be the most common combination.

Becuase outside of that overwatch is garbage. They chose to mimmick one of the most dumbed down fps of the past generation and so the game showed up with an insanely stale meta.

You should PvP in GW2 if you are trying to relax from playing other competitive PvP games, and want to grab your friends and cheese thru PvP till season 5 comes.
You should PvP in GW2 because it’s pretty easy once you and your friends get yalls rotation down. At that point yall will stomp a large percentage of random teams ANet feeds to yall.
Lol what games are you playing that this doesn’t happen? The only ones that come to mind are sc2/quake, and those are 1v1.
And most comp games are simpler than gw2. It’s not that gw2 is outstanding per say, most comp games are little tykes level.
I know dota has solo mmr, but don’t try to hype that up as something that’s a fun, heartwarming experience to grind out.

GW2 is PvE game get over it.
Maybe in actuality, but not relativally. It’s got some of the best pvp and worst pve of any mmo.

Retention from weekly tournies would give way more users than all the people with gaming pcs from Madison square.
Most of the profit does not go into NCsofts dividends, if that’s even how that works. I’d assume they hire quite a bit for each expansion, and gems go into wages of the teams that work in between expansions.
They can 1v1 druid and ele, meta classes. They are also more rewarding to keep alive than condi war, the other hunter of those two classes. So they are meta with ele + druid.
Instead of having an annual 50k tourny with no losers bracket, have 500$ weekly wvw and spvp tournaments. Just give gems for the wvw players, since there’s no point in splitting 500$ across an entire guild.
No esl = no huge tourny cost, so just give weekly gems to the best wvw guilds.
Plus we actually get to see people like the abjured in something other than a botched match.
There’d be no lan, so you’d swap from na to eu every round to swap advantage.

It should be 100% dependant on your analysis of your team. If you think they can come back, then keep playing. Otherwise just get some 1v1 practice in or listen to music and jump around.
You shouldn’t be using the scoreboard to gauge or your teams skill.
Why remove depth over nothing? Ctf is a gimmicky mode, you know that right?

I do play and have lots of fun with Elementalist, when it’s on daily. Elementalist is not worth playing for the reasons already stated by so many players in the past few months (since HoT). Why play support in a meta designed for power creep? Why try to do damange when all attunements combined in 10 seconds can not output the damage of any other profession in same given time? Why weewee against the wind? Seriously, you have to be insane to choose elementalist in PvP.
Like stated by many others, the only moment in history when Elementalist was good, was that moment when for PvP existed Celestial Amulet, because every spell had it’s small place in a big picture. Right now, I do not wish to play with half of skills (or half of profession), just because I play only support or only dps. Elementalist is a full ongoing concept bug, because it has to be reanalized from scratch. And, as we all know the design is made with PvE in mind (because it sells) then we will have to wait a long time for Elementalist back in meta for PvP.
Meanwhile, I strongly advise all players to not choose elementalist in PvP, but instead learn something new, something with lots of dps and and have fun with it. Elementalist is like a fluffy little kitten, you love it, it’s cute, but it will die fast against angry professions with burning swords and poisonous axes in their hands.
Ele support is viable, and by choosing diamond skin/stone heart you can make yourself nearly immortal in several 2v2. The toughness and healing pulse is enough to keep ally necros alive to pump out dmg.
Turns out if I want to one shot people I use Warrior/Berserker now. =/

It really doesn’t work in ranked, and war gets soloed by a lot of classes when you go power.
I mean firstly you should be running Marauder’s or Destroyer’s, zerker is not a ranked amulet in the first place unless you’re a robot. Could you clarify what str/gs is? I know gs, not familiar with str. GS is a difficult weapon to use due to predictability and lack of defense, tbh I wouldn’t recommend it in Ruby+. It’s an AoE weapon and Warr is best used when singling out a target and shutting it down, it’s why smart people don’t 1v1 a decent Warrior. That is just my opinion. Warr does have good AoE options for power, I’d suggest mace/shield GS if you want to participate in node fights. GS 3 and its bursts are great, and remember that Skull Grinder is a blast finisher. That means it has excellent synergy with Eles and Necros. Rifle is also a power option though you’re not going to do good damage with it without Fury, it’s more of an attrition weapon than a burst weapon.
I mean berzerker, I use demolisher. Power and condi war 1v1 are 100% matchup based. You lose some without a choice, others are a stomp. Condi war can kill elementalist/druid, but is meh against other classes, can not kill necro. Power war can destroy necro and beat a guard if you suprise them, but not against good ones. Something like mes/theif should never be dying to a warrior ever. Just save blink for condi mace and deny power war adrenaline. As far as I know rev is a tough matchup in 1v1, but you can pressure them in teamfights. Gs is required for power builds, then its either dual axe or axe/shield. You can drop discipline for strength if you take rune of the traveler with power.
You must have about 3 months experience in pvp to write this. Elementalists could use a boost but overall going back 4 years it might be the number one class for pvp since the start of the game. There have been very few periods of time when Ele has been non meta.
Being up isn’t a problem. Being boring is.
Hell they’re really good rn. You can easilly clock 600k total healing and 250k damage every game, with a lot of ally damage mitigation. But they take very little skill outside of bodyblocking/timing/reads.
Menders is the only actually viable choice, sages is a gimmick build that barely even nets you more damage. Fresh air stomping in unranked is worthless. There are dps builds with mountains more utility/tankyness.
Like, why ever take fresh air over scrapper/mes/staff theif/rev?

Have you seen the Anet group PvP?
I saw about 2-3 of them sitting in the PvP lounge, and none of them were in ruby ranking.
Not even Anet cares for ranked game play and if you spot people streaming seeing Devs in there match, ohhh man the farming that happens. OHHHHH so much farming
Probably because they know how toxic the ranked community can be. I know a few people who were legend the previous season but didn’t play this season due to the increased toxicity of the player base.
Pffft, any competitive team game. Go play 1k hours at 3k mmr dota only as a position 5 support, then come back and tell me gw2 community is toxic.
We didn’t really get nuked though. I’m still playing with shout bow druid and having tons of success.
That’s hardly noteworthy in the offseason. Longbow druid is worthless against any good ele before the patch.
It can be abused. People could whisper players about the other teams overall position and performance on the map. Heck they could buy a free account incase all forms of communications is blocked during watching the game and u’d still get spies relaying the above and more. And if A-net somehow prevented the same IP from having 2 account online at the same time somehow. They are still tons of other services, programs to communicate over vast distances.
I don’t think this is a good idea. Heck it’s not even spies. U can have an player who is good command the entire team as the unknown 6th member.
