Okay so this little asura girl said that humans and norn have the smallest body mass to brain size index. That makes little to no sense. Charr would need a slightly brigger brain if they wanted human tier sentience combined with the nervous system administration to run their body, but that should still result in a lower net brain to body mass size given their muscular mass compared to humans.

Just talking about mmr briefly. cs and dota don’t do well because of their underwhelming mmr system. In spite of what you think about the games, league and sc2 do ladders better.

Dont disagree but id rather see other things come first considering xev resources. I joined a pvp guild thaf uses voice, and play unranked when i cant play with a team. I dont care too much about shinies, i got my characters to look like the thing i was going for.

Id like to see proper ladders if anything. Do something like sc2 so you have ur highest rank achieved and your current rank.

Stats would be nice however.

Blind them on their third auto attack, save your stun breaker for when you get hit by knock down, save your dodge rolls for rock throw and stamp.

The chance of getting rampage crom elixer x was reduced to 10-20 percent recently so it rarely ever happens. If engi tornadoes and then runs away you have won the point.

Id be for this, but this game doesnt give out cc like wow does. Its more erratic and the game is balanced around 5v5. If cc removal was stack based it would sometimes uselessly dissapear instantly or sometimes last longer than stability does.

Damage vs tanking healing and mobility seems to be the focus over wows stuns vs stuns removal and thats not a bad thing.

Engi is the least played. It’s pretty darn versatile but your 1v1 requires the enemy messing up most of the time.

I started a match on lost temple and noticed that we were struggling in the mid fight. Checked my minimap and saw 3 allies capping safe, all of them standing still on the cap point at the start of the match. I would say it was my gamesense that lost us this match but i’m unable to convince myself so.

Also you can pvp at level 3 and be auto scaled to 80. Just get to level 11 though, ecause if you go into pvp nude you wont get any scaling. Make sure your armor slots are full (level 11 u can get shoulders by pressing o and using market)

Just play mes

They arent super strong but i think the nerf bat didnt hit them hard enough to hurt their pub play. They are versatile, have clutch potential solid teamfighting,1v1 and can stack well (2 rogues is bad for a team, two mes can be forced to work)

Ele is top tier atm but the nerf bat is hunting them so u may not want to pick them now.

Ranger on the other hand is very sleeper. Their 1v1 with powerbuilds is actually good and they wont get nerfed for a long time.

Regardless, get 20 matches in each class unranked to learn their basics, and play 100 matches with a class before judging its strengths. Use metabattle for cookie cutter builds then custimize ur build as u feel out the class

As for guardian you have to spec for dps. Their dps build counters a few classes and is tanky vs condis. Bunker spells heal allies and being immortal helps for rezzing

How does getting unlucky = stealth nerf?

There is a 0.1 chance of this happening(at a supposed 50%), and anet doesn stealth nerfs and doesn’t give actual stats in the tooltips.

Haven’t noticed transfers failing due to blind, at least not with Putrid Mark or Plague Sending.

I haven’t noticed it with any of our Transfers. Partly because RNG was never added to transfers.

the only thing strong about it is the comboing. If you guys saw that at the start of the match and switched to 5 guardians the outcome would have been different, no?

Elixir X RNG is tipped toward Rampage over ‘Nado 60/40… even though it doesn’t feel that way most of the time.

As far as i know only guardian and ele have huge condi dps and that requires allies/stacks to stunlock u while they lay it down. Otherwise you can dodge roll out of guardians.

Nothing, though sometimes it’s fun to abandon the team and just go for score. It’s hard not to when you see people on your team duo capping points and whatnot.

I think this was a half patch some of the employees wanted to poop out while they were hard at work on HOT. I think ele nerfs inc still.

So I went into a pug recently and the enemy had 5 rogues on their team. I’d like to say the composition of my team and their skill level was so statistically average that this match reflects this matchup in the most pragmatic way possible, and we won the match handilly, although one of our poor blokes spent the entire match getting spawn farmed.

This being considered, I think rogues should be buffed so such a pathetic display does not reoccur.

Im not super experienced as engi, but id say we have good teamfighting. In addition, im glad grenades are the most viable weapon since they take relati e skill to use, and although i dont like engis in their current spot im glad the interesting kits are the viable ones. People say its a burst meta and a tanky aoe dps serves little purpse in that.

At the end of the day we are ele but with worse sustain and worse 1v1 but with more cheesy we win buttons, such as mass moa. I think devs have ele nerfs planned and our utility should be compared to theirs after the nerfs

Currently there’s no counterplay to it.. at all!

I rather it worked like Stone Heart. The trait only takes effect if the Ele is in Earth or Water Attunement so that condi players can offer counterplay, rather than being completely countered by a single trait.

This! I find the eles sustain more annoying to deal with than their fire dps. I don’t want to nerf cuckold classes and I love that a complex class is very viable but the strength of ele needs to be moved away to some of it’s other utility because it’s not fair where it currently is.

It’s only PvP and maybe WvW people complaining. PvE is having a ball right now.

I’m sure if the pve mobs could have a say they too would be telling you that the last patch put this game out of balance.

(lol)That and HOT seems to be mostly updating wvw/gvg/pve

I’d like to see an actually debate on this. The threads i’ve so so far havn’t convinced me. Upping dmg means that classes have more windows for 1v1, such as pushing a warrior off point when they don’t have rampage up. Although the infinite sustain possible on eles is incredibly annoying, they should be getting toned down in the next patch.

So.. is HoT good for us?

Anet had 300 employees in 2013 and probably less now, so they need to be smart with investments. DLC is not popular these days and gw2 appeals to a niche market that like bang for buck. That’s always been a niche gw2 has benefited from. Expansion packs are easilly the best company decision for them to make regarding the financial meta and their intellectual property.

Rampage takes a lot less setup than ranger burst, and you get 45,000 hp. You can force your enemies entire hand and still fight on the cap point. Although us warriors like to say rampage is our only skill, if either we or an ally set up a stun combo we can follow it up with 8,000 dmg.

Considering mesmer/ele are better 1v1 and in teamfights the rangers ability to contribute to fights while commiting little and being OKAY at 1v1 is nearly useless in tournaments imo.

What if instead of mass vulnerability you get a larger damage condition on the enemy but it required switching weapons to activate. This would remove the thought of rangers being too strong at either ranged(annoying) or melee(what) but it would give them a better place in 1v1s. In addition, I don’t think weapon switch speed should be so long on ranger if at all.

Imo give them a 5 second switch time and rework their skirmisher trait.

Warrior will be fine if they don’t buff Engi, Ranger, Necro, Thief, and they nerf Mesmer and Ele.

The problem isn’t they are weak overall, it’s that over half of it is rampage. I mean, either you completely kitten in 1v2 scenarios vs squishy classes or you can’t contribute to a 3v2 because you don’t have any way of going uphill and your enemy does. Not enough engagements are decided with your skill being factored, just the matchup.

You shouldn’t 1v1 balance because we have support skills/traits.

Is the net skill that comes from support skills worth invalidating a few classes every patch? I’m a bit new(low skill), but I find my support skills aren’t that hard to set up and sort of have a bad risk/reward on attempting to deny them. I see things like power block on the mesmer which looks interesting but he’s not gonna interupt my mass moa or anything like that. Maybe just deny a guardians might/heal channel and that’s hardly a lot of the utility guardian offers. He does however interupt rampage and the guardians immortality and adds a 15s cooldown.

I mean, over 99% of the pvp is pugs, so although balancing the game around top level players who don’t ever main classes and only play for the tournament money is cool and all, it sort of devaluues pugs, aka the pvp we all play.

IMO balancing the game around high skill pugs > high skill tourny play because it drifts through the rest of the game better.

@abc but only a few classes can actually spec into that. The rest of the classes are dependant on their team due to having support skills instead of duelling skills so playing is just rolling the dice and hoping your team is good.

5v5 balance isn’t that bad. It serves it’s purpose and plays out well in the top level. It also gives new windows of balance and allows new and interesting teamfighting dynamics.

However, it means you can’t really main classes or have favorites. And it clearly means some classes aren’t played at all in the meta, and some are just trash for months on end.

A 1v1 balance(across classes) doesn’t make 5v5 really uncompetitive. Why not try it?

Remove rampage from warrior and buff the rest of his skills. Outside of rampage it only feels like vs warrior or meditation dps guardian are skill based fights and the rest are matchups.

Short Answer: No.

Long answer: It takes 1 person to kill a D/D ele unless they are really good. Bring chill or just don’t fight it, rotate elsewhere. 99% of D/D ele’s cannot kill anything anyways, just watch out for the few good elementalist players.

look, these fake statistics from pubs are really annoying. Nobody cares what goes on in low skill matches, you’re just rolling the dice to see which team is less garbage. ELE is clearly strong in pro matches, and although I don’t like linearly nerfing classes or something but they are the strongest teamfighting class and the second strongest 1v1 class.

In the kitten ed least, they should be required to spec to one or the other

“bring chill or rotate.” Sounds perfectly balanced to me boss(lol?), but you forgot to mention you have to rotate from the teamfight if they show up to that as well.

Beyond Rampage: Warriors in the Meta

Why should rampage be nerf’ed? I really like zerker warrior being viable in the meta, essentially competing with mesmers and medi guards.

I am fine with certain classes not in the meta, aka ranger. That class is too poorly designed. The pet mechanics needs an overhaul.

Rampage being meta over getting to actually use warrior skills in a diverse and skillful way is bad design. Rampage should just be removed and warriors should have their actual skills buffed so we can play a video game instead of facerolling.
