Some peeps were setting the mouse click to auto and dropping more than humanly possible. Hundreds of instances being spawned was causing people to lag, lock up and in some cases disconnect.

Bugs that cause connectivity issues are usually fast patched.

Lol some people apparently would prefer for the server to crakitten a random time preventing them from playing for an unknown amount of time then to beforced to down load a simple fix that only takes 1-2 minutes at a specific time.

If I read and understood this correctly is that your done with your clovers as well as another 250 ecto needed for gift of fortune and now you have 150 extra just lying around.

Wish you had asked sooner, would of told you to save the 100 ice runestones for the very last part.

The best advice in my opinion and what i would do if i were in your shoes is this:

As highhope said compare the lowest seller price of the rare to what the current selling price for ectos. If its worth more ( I like to use a margin of 5ish silver) then sell it on the tp, if its is at the same price of ecto or within in your margin then salvage it.

The reasoning behind this more often then not youll only get 1 ecto, right behind it the chance of getting none. Using only the rares that cost the same as an ecto will lower your potiential loss meanwhile giving you a benefit to double/triple your potiental gain.

Unless you get a BLSK for free stick with master salvage kits, the current gold to gem converison is horrid.

Using the meathod i just decribe I would using money gained from selling ectos to buy T6 mats as you continue to farm for them. Once you finish your gift of fortune youll be able to sell everything you gain from that point on quickly raising he needed gold for the worst part for many.

Now we come to the mystic forge part. I and alot of other players would strongly advise putting your hopes in it. There are countless videos on youtube of people putting 30-40 gold worth of items only to get a few extoics back worth 6-7 gold. This isnt to say that a throw of the dice isn’t fun/good every once in a while, just dont get sucked in by the allure.

The mystic forge has a 20% to upgrade an item to the next rarity. using items of the same type will guarentee the output item to be of the same type. If different items are used then the output will be completely random. Its best to use green items first to get a feel for the mystic forge. RNG is not to be viewed as a potiental ally.

As much as I really dont like to say it, its best to pretty much plant o have to save to buy your precursor off the tp. Take your time saving up the money and do epic world bosses every day since that bonus chest has the best chance to contain a precursor.

Last and certainly not least, Im pretty sure highhope made an easy to make mistake but since your going for twilight the precursor you need is the dusk not dawn. That would be a disastrous mistake if you end up buying it.

Then you realize gw1 was pay to play at first. servers, internet and employees all require money.
Gw2 is far from being a greedy business model. You are not forced to pay to win, The skins they provide on the gem store are not required to advance in the game as well as they provide no additional bonus besides visual pleasure.
gold that is rather easy to obtain can be transferred into gems to make gem purchases.

Being also from GW1, I completely laugh at your notion of gw2 having grindy achievements because your forced to do 250 clicks her, 150 clicks there, 100 clicks over there.

do you remember how most players got their luck title? people waited half a year to stand on a circle afk for 4 days straight only to barely get 82,918 lucky points towards the need total 2,500,000 need to max the title. tell me how how long that would take with this game being open 4 days a year?

What I don’t understand is why Arenanet considers it so important to have “correct ratings”. It’s painfully obvious that even after we’ll have reached the “correct” ratings matches will be horribly unbalanced anyway because the population difference between servers is too big (even for servers with similar ratings) AND the scoring system exponentially increases those differences.
To me it looks like they’re stalling because they don’t really have a good plan to fix the real problem i.e. the scoring system sucks, so they’re using the “we need the ratings to stabilize” as an excuse.

Or, can someone tell me what exactly we will have achieved once the “new” ratings will be stable again? Do you seriously believe it will lead to balanced matches? facepalm awesome so your saying that players act in a random fashion that the developers should have tested for. You clearly do not comprehend how extremely complex that is, lets take another game, for example a game called socom. One bug was that you could prone slide aginst certain walls to clip through them. Sure they could of spammed every action against every ingame square inch of every wall but could it be done while dealing with a release date deadline, no and so somethings accidently get through the cracks. Another problem is how well do you think testing on a server deals withoutside user interference such as cutting ones ethernet cord to attach a lightswitch to cause controllable brief moments of lag or removing the cover of a console to switch discs inbetween loading screens ( yes these are real example).

The unpredictable actions of the player IS the differnce between a test server and a live server, and when I say server difference I do not mean jq versus sor.

Since this game is ooo buggy and horriable in your eyes, lets have a fun game challange. You name a game which you know to be 100% flawless with no bugs, exploits or ways for a user to get ahead of the game and/or other players. My incredable tedious task is to find one of them.

I feel obliged to tell you about the dodge mechanic that you may consider OP. Now the key is not freak out spam the dodge key as the slow moving projectile moves towards you ( youll end up just wasting all your dodges on one incoming attack). takes some time getting use too though

Your actually right on this one, im really am not/ nor plan to be a game developer/programmer. May Odin have mercy on my sould had I claimed that knowledge, but you my dearest friend that gives friendly advice, you should quickly apply to anet. With all your extensive testing knowledge and plans for future events……why we would never have another buggy mundane unenjoyable event ever again!!!!!

Really it only comes down to whether or not you like/want foot prints or you want/dont want to grind for a twilight. The mystic forge has/is still currently bugged in not recognizing precursors. The overwheling majority of players use a beserker weapons set, so theres not much of a need for a rush fix on that. You have a better chance of eternity getting updated to have footprints then that fix.

Legendaries assume the highest rarity pvt stats, when ascended weapons do eventually come out they will be upgraded to ascended pvt. keep in mind that release could very well be still several more months down the road.

When you transmute an item its rarity becomes w/e stats you choose during the transmuation. ie if you chose a blue stats witha green skin it would have the blue rarity. The exception with legendaries though is that you keep the purple lettering regardless if you choose to keep stats or the skin.

Holding your breath that our transmuted legendaries ( which are now extoic quality from previous paragragh) will upgrade to ascended w/e stats they are transmuted on is as about as meaningful as the suckers keeping their legendaries in pvt mode thinking they will be able to choose w/e stats they want .000002%.

If by the minicule chance im wrong then….

Welcome to the party bros and sisters, you were prolly too busy transferring to w/e server was winning in the highest tier at the time but there are servers that have been expriencing blow outs for months regardless who the 3rd server is.

1 up 1 down does nothing to solve the problem of stacked servers and will only continue to add more transfers to those servers.

contrarily to your tinfoil hats, this new system will not destroy wvw, it will destroy this prenotion that being in a higher tier automactially makes you and your server “stronger” because you can field max players consistantly at hours of the day vs the other 2 your against.

Yes the larger server players will get bored and less competitive, which is to be expected since theres only few other servers able to compete numberwise.

Your incorrect about the losing servers though. This is where im in a uncontrollable laughing fit at the mid high tiers that are suffering their first few beat downs. Yes youll lose moral and the weak souled players ( mainly the ones crying here at the forums telling their server not to play) becuase your gonna lose several times by landslides. However in time the high populated servers will get bored faster ( face it what are 80 people gonna do when a map is fully their color for days).

Thats the true beauty of this system, since anet wouldn’t dare move players into other servers ( imagine all the rage if people from JQ woke up one morning in ET LMAO!!!)

TL;DR
If you truely want to fix wvw matches you should be asking anet to reopen free transfers to lower populated, you prolly could even maybe convince them to give guild owners an item that will give them guild respect in relation to their current upgrades to get them a headstart.

If not then continue the high chance of either being roflstomped or twiddling your thumbs with a full map for days with a slight chance of getting an equal numbered match.

This may have been so they could join up with other equally committed players. In my case, living in Asia, I had to join a US server with an Oceanic/SEA presence in WVW, meaning a top 2 tier server.

I stopped reading after this gem and started laughing.

Actually a few of the lower tier servers have deceant oceanic presence. ioj for example, They are not T1, not T2, not T3, not T4 nor T5 and yet they keep up.

You choose to transfer to the top tiers for a silly number next to the tier and now your trying to rationalize it because of a timezone. now your mad after your stacked server goes aginst nonso stacked servers. so much irony.

Anet see it to be fit to put FA aginst ET/FC for 3-4 months straight…… no scratch that why should they get all the fun substitue DH in one of their place. Im sure theyd be happy to be seperated for a while after being joined at the hip for x amount of months

Bandwagoning is really what has killed the entire system. Tiers were never meant to be based on skill. They were supposed to reflect server population. Less populated servers fight less populated and large servers fight larger servers.

Its this nonsense that assumes the tiers are some sort of skill ranking is what really is the problem. Being tier 1, 2 or 3 does not mean you are awesome at WvW. It means you have a ton of people who play WvW at all hours.

There is a clear and distinct difference between a T3 skill level and a T2 skill level. It’s like night and day, when you put a new T3 server against experienced T2 servers.

Yes, population has a ton to do with winning, obviously, but 30 people can wipe 60 people if they are “skilled” about how they do it.

oh yeah i saw that difference. I guested from DH ( T6) to JQ (T1) to visit some gw1 buddies. A member called out taco up so i decided to dropin. 30 people died on his first breath, leaving me standing there saying " lol what?"……

The concept of tiers has little meaning at this point and you should try to stop thinking of matchups in those terms. Servers are matched up by proximity of rating, not proximity of “tier”. You can undoubtedly run better analysis of the scenarios than the players can, yet you still went ahead and implemented it with a random factor range that was too wide. To be straight up honest I hope the “super servers” get paired up with the lower severs for months on end. My chuckles would have no end then. LOL people being mad they have nothing to do for the rest of the week after they painted wvw their color an hour after reset. Isn’t that the reason you mostly likely transferred to that server?

hmmm? No, I am actually serious lol. I tend to record alot of crazy fights in WvW, but i do have footage of some no-guild players (and a FURY player) fly hacking into the lord room of towers (and even our garrison) and taking it.

Not to mention the blatant use of the zoom bug, combined with arrow carts to hit places normally out of view :P

Well my friend you were in the same tier as said cheaters, therefore by Through relations everyone on the tier during the matchup are cheaters!!!!! ( ohhh i do see the fun)

its the same for all dual equipped legendaries, only the main hand shows. would be sweet to have electric fire though

for someone who has some/all the supply carry unlocked, could you tell me if guild claim stacks on top of it to carry 20?

ie. instead of normal 10 you can carry 15.

Actual variety armors instead of " oh look have a choice of being a pirate , part of a trenchcoat mafia, or a ninja"

armor that had to be crafted, instead of this kitten dunegon token system leaving millions of low tier mats to rot

Dungeons/ elite bosses that had specific drops

old style attack bar.

group synergy where even the least played classes could get in on the action….. compared to this now zerker war/mesmer only thing
