If you put the LFG in a auto form groups system lots of people will never use them because it´s not our freedom of choice, just something forced on us. And when you take the freedom of choice people will be very angry.

What you are saying is, for people to feel acomplishment they must act against the logic and give nothing in return except do something against of logic.

Yeah, very clever.

And if ANY TIME you ever played GW, you will know something about what HARD MODE is for a GW1 player, instead of just mumbling that people must act like idiots just to feel acomplishment.

Hard mode is not about powerful itens, its more about better rewards. GW1 has a cap for everything so you never have something better just because you do something harder, it´s more getting a better chance to get a new sprite or a perfect rune or a rare polymock piece.

So before telling something more just know what people are talking about instead telling them to shut off.

And in GW1 newer players have to complete 100% of something to enable hard mode, so it was never a problem for anyone.

For any moment you try to understand the logic it wil require? The server machine will have to compute not only normal players nerfs or buffs, monster damage, monster getting damaged, degens, regens. You need to create all of this again but for hard mode players. Even using the same instance they will have to create 2 different process for every player if they change constantly it will be hell to the system. And imagine how many people can bug because the system cannot reset their status because some unexplainable event.

So if you use the same instance you have to double ONE machine resource and expect lots of bugs (and lots of human resources to solve them) because kitten happens all time or make separate instances and double the machines, the net band…

In GW1 was easy to do that because an instance use less resources the more time the gamer played them. So it was easy to put more instances on a same machine. But in GW2 monsters respawn all time, events occurring and restarting all time the instance will use 99% of the resources dedicated to her almost all the time if it´s full. And it´s not a real world where you can just copy and paste some documents and put them on a less used disk because the time to make this work in a instance + necessity will just make everything worse. Imagine frostgorge sound, it´s almost empty all time, they put in a less demand server, them come claw and it comes full, imagine the time to copy all the instance to a more demand server. Impossible.

So the only way to implement a hard mode is for dungeons only without turn this a real money sinker. Open world hard mode will always be a resource devouring monster.

Forget what twice dead is mumbling, he don´t understand at all your sugestion.

The simples problem with hard mode is. MORE INSTANCES. Every map is a big instance in one server. The moment you need to make new instances it will make more use of machine resource, net code, net band, etc… More costs to ANET and the need of more incoming.

For a P2P without sub work it´s necessary a minimum use of resources so if it has a low incoming just cut superfluous costs and the life continues. If they have high incoming YAY! new ping pong board…

A hard mode with a increased chance of drops can be good for people who played GW1 and understand how it works (no its not necessary to drop ascended ou uberpowerful +10000000000000 all stats) but it can be something without resources to put on.

Simple solution to this problem.

Use the same web interface you use for BLT, create a site and direct the interface to this site. Problem solved, move to an external tool this way if something needs to be changed just make this server side. Don´t even need (most of time) to change it client side.

Everybody always says… get a decent group, get a competent team…

A decent group, a competent team don´t go to this dungeons because it´s just wasting time. Whit my guildies team we do the 2 first path of CoF in 20 minutes each. In a skipper pug we made AC Detha path in 15 minutes.

Do you really think that there are people interested in make a extremly dificult path even it´s short? NO. No pugs, no decent group, no competent team. We need to wait for one day there are some people wanting the master dungeon achievement and try, like 3rd path in cof.

These paths need more balance, the FOTM take most of the players, the other made just easy and fast dungeons to farm money, just a little really want to try something new, and they don´t even use gw2lfg.

Make it a 10000 gems and I will agree. The work to implement:
1 – Change class
2 – Adapt the makeup to the new class
3 – KILL the story of the player because it´s totally racial and maybe bug if in expansions they need some of these decisions to a new story and they will start whining about not continue their stories
4 – Kill their allegiances and maybe bug in expansions and wait for whining
5 – Change their racial clothes
6 – Change their racial skills and even create new skills bugging along the way

10000 gems at least can cover some of the whining about class change creating new bugs in the future.

It´s because you are trying to make something easy more easyer. Nothing is preventing us to use some habilities except for cooldowns. But if you remove a cooldown will be just people spamming skill and it will start a new era of the same old.

Keep spamming shield skills and you will tank just like any old mmo mechanic. Keep sppaming heal área… Understand the concept NOW? Only the lazyness to understand the mechanics, learn about the boss and time correctly the use of your skills is really preventing people from learn another way to play, not spam skill, not ONE skill role.

If you need to TANK you just want to apply the old mechanic. Please stop trying to find a way to apply some of these old mechanics. Learn how to use and time your skills because only you are preventing to play this game.

And for me this conversation is over. I don´t want to be dragged to an endless conversation with someone that want the old mechanics trying to say that don´t.

NO TANK in this game. NO HEALER in this game. NO HOLy TRINITY in this game. No remotion or shorter cooldowns just to keep spamming skills.

People just have to stop thinking on old style MMOs.

In F2P and Subs mmo you have a steady source of incoming, so you can hire an equip just to enforce the anti-troll measures.

This game is a P2P without subscription, it need to work on the minimum possible. If they leave margin to people start the rage wave there will be more work without more people. To a system like this works it´s necessary to implement every type of anti system breaking, so they can use their resources to developement and fix.

Yes the actual XP gained is based on difference of levels. I made 3 80, sometimes I followed people on areas 5-10 more levels than me.

And to be something that they are wasting time using a macro to press a key… It must be really less XP than killing a mob from their own level. And this will not work. they will find somewhere else where they can get more XP with their macro.

It will be just lots work for the hacking team.

That´s a good point. But let´s just think a little. Some monsters are just respawning at same spot. You position your char on a spot and start a macro pressing 1 every time. You keep killing that monster, but you are level 20 and the monster are level 80 (well maybe 40). Free fast up.

When you keep those old MMO mechanics in a game there will always ways to exploit them easily because they are testes and aproved on old MMOs.

Sorry disapoint you, Krosslite, none class can tank. NO ONE. There are only some that can take some more hits before have to retreat. And some that can mitigate some damage giving more time to recover from heal colldown. Only this. And lots of bosses is better to jump on the boss, snare him, dps him and jump off than just tank him.

And I have every skill for every one of my chars. It´s so easy to gain skill points that I don´t care to spend them.

I switch very fast my weapons, just have to manage the cooldowns. Just binded the switch weapons to my mouse mid button (i believe everyone has one of these) and change fast to use. and knowing the boss is a good part of this. If I know when to use i can manage correctly my cooldowns. And I´m not even close to be one of those that soloed lupicus or kholer.

Learn the boss mechanics, every boss is a 1, 2 ,3 skill and even tell you what skill he will do. If you pay attention you use the skill only when ti´s needed not spam skill.

And I really believe that I´m very creative in my playstyle. I use my warrior to tank the breeders and scavengers giving the rest of the party time to do their job, I know the scavengers try to knock me off and the breeder just try to vomit things on me, i just keep killing those things and the breeder do nothing. And without even use a shield.

My ranger can DPS heal and support a party using a axe and warhorn and switching to longbow to DPS. My engi can support a party, remove conditions, buffs, mitigate boss regen, dps, heal, stand in front of a boss and take some hits using a shield or the wrench skills, snare, take the heat from a player…

Like I said, lazyness, people are not even trying to use the imagination and stop trying to transform class x in tanker, class y in whatever… I´m tired of the same old formulas that keep people from playing a game.

Let´s make an example. I have a Mesmer in GW1, nobody like to do PVE with mesmers because everyone are PVXsite addicted. Then my guild needed for one more to do DoA and I came with my mesmer, using a DWG build with mesmer energy management and echo. My damage was lower than other RT, but using a mesmer skill on a mesmer changes the way it works. I recovered more energy and faster and give more attacks on the first burst, making more damage before having to recover. This changed the way people in my guild looked at mesmer in PVE.

If you want to be creative use your imagination, don´t try to change the way the game is because for the first time a game don´t try to make people make boring things, force the use of macros and addons and promote DPS.

And how about to use your skills to do something instrad just push one button. You have 5 weapons skills, 1 heal skill and 4 utility skills, and for some there are even belt skills.

And engy can use an total of 14 skills to support group. Lots of them can revive, remove conditions, give regen. It´s not like a bomb heal healer but can support a group that can stand by themselves as well as one. and thats the question. People that just think of his own self, don´t try to respec and make more versatile char (I have a warrior that tanks lot of dungeons silver and have a good damage, without the need of a bomb healer).

Tank in an generic MMO is the most boring thing in the world, just a wall to boss keep hitting. A healer is an mobile healing potion. The only player trying the achievement is the DPS because he is the person killing the boss.

The GW2 way is more dinamic, everyone participate actively in every role in a well balanced party. But people just look your own self and go to dungeons with GC builds or MF gear and keep slowing the party and being good for nothing.

This is where we need to balance this game. Force people to stop thinking as if he is the only person in the world. Not bringing old and boring mechanics that don´t work anymore. It´s just dragging players that keep addicted to them more and more, and it´s because it´s easy to implement in every MMO mechanic. Everybody know how this works.

And when someone make something that everyone can be the MVP in a party. When they tell NO HOLY TRINITY (gods, they are telling this when the first alpha arrive, everywhere they tell this) people keep trying to make the holy trinity works at all costs.

Some people tell, guardian tank, heal. I saw engineers tanking bosses better than most guardians. My ranger can get some bad hits before I need to run and recover, and do some DPS and even support with healing spring.

It´s just this lazyness, this loss of imaginative ways to do things that make you keep repeating the same formula, we need holy trinity.

Stop! This game has only 3 months, try to adapt and learn something more funny than be a brick wall or a moving healing potion.

You can always rewatch the vistas even with the same char. Just go to the vista and appreciate.

And I can´t remember a view that let me use it when I´m in combat. Everytime I had to kill the mobs, then I can use the vista. So giving me plenty of time to look around.

Anytime people are treating as WvW as PvP. It´s not PvP, just a kitten go alone all time in WvW to look for other player alone and duel PvP.

It´s a big GvG, a real big one. What´s the matter if a zerg kills you? It´s not a player, it´s a zerg.

I can´t see nothing good coming from knowing the name of my killers because they don´t kill me, the zerg kill. And if I´m exploring and eventually get killed for someone I get angry about that I want to tell the person who his mother really are. Knowing these peoples name just make more grieving than necessary. For me and lot´s of people will be better to never know.

An don´t come with “you can not talk to enemy or asking to talking to enemy” because if they implement, this is just what will happen.

There are lots of games with the holy trinity. And all the problems that it come with. Unbalanced parties, people that want to play a role in the party but can´t because the brother is playing this role. You love to play tanker but the guild leader tell you to roll a DPS because there are lots of tankers in guild.

This game can END with this kitten because every player can be better than just a one skill/role player.

There is a level cap at everything and will be like this for a long time I presume. for me if a game don´t give nothing more powerful than what we have at almost from the beginning of the game I can´t see any vertical progression to talk about.

GW1 had some weapon and armor gear improvements in the past. People don´t start vertical kitten about that. It´s logical for some that they will need some new gear.

Making this another two year to get cap level is not make something better, is just making players play wow with another name.

They already downscale not only your stats but your weapon and armor stats when you go to lower locations. My p/t/c engi can´t solo champions from 1-15 áreas without a good amount of work from my side. Even some events I can´t kill mobs 1hitko. It´s just more easier. And I have a 40lv mesmer full rares. I don´t notice great difference in a 25-35 map than my full exotics eng.

And will aways have players who have full playerskill and can beat the kitten from some boss. And if they make everyboss uberpowerful, the mid level, the begginer and casual player will just be disencouraged from play this game. It will be just a elite game.

So there´s no vertical progression to talk about, just people that want a vertical progression or just want people whining about this for loooong time. Solving the vertical issue when there is none is just kitten. No extend the time to get level cap, casual players level up fast enough to enjoy the game and power levelers will always be like this. Changing the skills so elite players will level slower is making slower people (casual and mid players) just telling this game to kitten off. You must never balance a game because some people have fingers and know how to use them, they are a minority and will always be. The boss encounters isn´t for only elite players, if you want that ask anet for hard mode like GW1.

And what I see in a resume in the end. Skilled people must act like kitten because if they don´t do that they will get less rewards and will be scaled down… lol.

And I see you never played GW1. If it was necessary to change an abused skill they always change and rebalance. Even on GW2 there is a lot of skills rebalanced.

If they want to fill the role of something that the mechanics avoid, try to find another game. From the beggining (3 months) they said that they will not put the holy trinity in the game and people need to learn new ways to play. Now putting 10000000000000000 posts trying to change the game to the generic mechanic MMO game is the greatest lazyness for me.

And to tank, someone need someone healing, or anyone can just kill the monster by exaustion. Os just tank and give those glass cannon the time to dps. WHAT DIFFERENCE will be from another generic mmo?

Why people can´t move on this kitten about vertical progression? It´s only a 3 month game, not an 10 year old game that totally changed his mechanics and give better gear every month.

It´s just some mechanics, they can´t have the time to put in the game on the launch (a lot of other games do the same and i don´t see everyone vertical kitten about this). If they put this on the launch like they wanted you never know about vertical progression.

And given some time they will have new ideas about new mechanics that will need new gears, and it will start again.

Stop here. A game that play the same mechanics forever is boring and stagnant. they said that the ascended gear is the most powerful and will be the last, so there´s no vertical progression, only something to get.

If the gear before ascended wasn´t so easy to get I at least can agree with some of your arguments. But no, exotics is easy as leveling a player. So you can spend more time trying to get your ascended gear.

Yeah, it has to be black and white because what lazy players want is to make this game an generic mmo game. So they will not feel like noobs when they don´t learn how to play and run to another generic mmo game.

And being a one thing player is the laziest way to play this game. why not think about be a real help to the party lookin for what you got and try to put skills to be more helpful than the 5s warrior or the heal heal elem?

Don´t you see the videos about lupicus and kholer? Someone SOLOED them. It´s not necessary to whine about get the holy trinity to this game. it´s necessary to learn the mechanics on how to play better.

My warrior can buffs and get players from downed faster than every other. My mesmer can get players from downed with revenge giving them the time to kill and get out of revenge state. My eng have an elixir that helps a lot to get people from downed state. A thief can even ress totaly a player and help more people to ress together.

An engi can help heal, remove conditions, buff, give retaliation, cripple and poison without changing the weapon. A ranger can remove conditions, heal and give might and swiftness to the party and even can damage the enemy and with a fast switch give some good dps and aoe. A guardian, well let´s not talk about… A elem, everybody thinks on heal and dps, but i prefer only their DPS part…

I don´t imagine another reason why we need some dedicated healer if everyone can help FULL time a party more than just being some heal bot.

OMFG! When they make suspense in LS event and get all the problems because people thought that the only one event was only a cinematic there are a torrent of players whining about ANET not informing them.

Now they inform people about what will be for them so they adjust their times and be in the events then people whine because they are telling too much.

It´s because pure healer role in a party is more about macros than real playerskill. When someone don´t know how to play but want to be welcome in everyparty just play a healer. Everything works as a charm. Start your macros and be happy being a dead bag in a party.

The kitten generic mmo games mechanics created this lousy players. And don´t even try to tell me that I´m wrong. Good players know that more than be a healer in GW2 they can be a support for their party (removing conditions, creating combo fields, using combo finishers, shouts, buffs…) and even have one or two skills to help the DPS amount.

But it cannot be achieved with macros because macros and addons don´t think.

A real good player in GW2 is the one that real work in a group and do multitask role, but the laziness of some players is really annoynig me.

Speculations:

1) Minis in the forum of reindeer, snowman, and a Grawl grench…maybe.

2) Lion’s Arch still being the most important focus of the entire event, and the small visits to the other cities by Tixx being insignificant at best.

3) People complain that they missed the event, and so want the rewards to last 2 weeks after it so that they can obtain them (whether these being people suspended, banned, or “on vacation”)

4) A rare/exotic weapon and/or armor set that few obtain, yet everyone wants, and thus the “fairness” crowd will push their way into claiming that everyone should have it equally and that holiday items shouldn’t be rare.

5) Holiday Joy and Cheer will be ruined by complaints, hate, bad attitudes, and spoiled selfish behaviors.

It´s not speculation, you must have come from the future and seen that.

Anyway, what I wanted is another bring your friends to know and envy you for playing a kitten game.

It´s because some people are lazy to learn how the mechanics of this game works. My ranger as healer is much better than any elementalist, at least I can use a relatively fast area heal/condition remover/water field and give a good amount of damage without having to wait for the cooldown of switching element. I can even support with a warhorn+healing spring. Or give some fire field for warriors using a torch and some multi-enemy damage with the axe. My engi can use light field and give a blast giving retaliation to my teamamates. And even heal and remove conditions. And whitout switching weapon can poison the enemy.

My warrior is a master of AC, when I get some weak pug that can´t do well because the breeders can overcome if not killed fast I change to my warrior an give them time to do the job when I keep distracting the breeder and killing their spawns.

It´s just learn how to play. And there are lot of lazy people that don´t want that.

And directly respond you Krsitine, yeah I love people who know how to do a dungeon and can work as a team instead someone who can only do one thing and are a dead bag on the rest. That´s my preferred group.

Please people, stop trying to make this another generic holy trinity mmo game. Learn how to use a class and you can see a lot of help or support for the party, not the usual heal, heal, heal, heal, hela, buffs, heal, heal, heal…. Learn how to use combos, some friends love to do a dungeon with my ranger because I normally use healing spring for group supporting, someone with blast combo finisher can blast the water field and spray a good amount of heal to everyone.

Light fields (enginner and guardian are better to use them) can be blasted for retaliation.

1 – Looks like someone just get the last rock in the head and cant finish someone…
2 – There are a limit of how many people can ress a player.
3 – If someone is ressing a player they are locked for some time, use this to get more people to downed state
4 – Even downed you can continue hitting them and get your rewards when you kill, but everyone just like to be the kitten uberlooking kitten killer with finish him (personally I like some good safe distance).
5 – A zerg will always have advantages in open space where you can go and finish someone. If you jump a wall just to kill someone downed in the middle of the zerg you are the kitennest person I know.
6 – A revived or rally person come with less hp and every downed state give them less hp in downed. 4 downeds, instakill.
7 – If I remember there are 30 seconds for someone to recover one tick of downed. So if someone need to recover downed state will be at least 30 seconds with someone less.

And why I will go to a low level map that don´t give me nothing but some low level whites and eventually a high level WHITE…? There are people that don´t have the time or requirements to do fotm run (I even can´t do that because the DC kitten and problably can´t do in a long time). And if you can have some exp, maybe a SP, karma and some silver without the kitten of a dungeon, well, I´m all for it .

And not everyone is a gold farmer, some people like to made different things, you can see by some posts. And be rewarded for doing that is better.

This game rewards us for everything we do well. Why not revitalize the maps?

If it´s a thing to revitalize a map I don´t see any problem in needing a level to certain áreas were the Zaishen send you. Because to revitalize a area NO ONE will create a new char just for this. NO ONE will use a weak alt because will be faster to use their leveled char. So doing a chain of events being in a party to complete as a Zaishen mission (or even reativate some hearts mission) will be for leveled players. If someone is not leveled enough it will just be like GW1 again.

Even a weekly event will never be for everyone, if the event will be in Fields of Ruin a level 20 won´t go or all those events will ever be in 1-15 level áreas and it will not revitalize a lot of maps. And a FULL world event will be just people going for the easiest or the better reward. So the rest of the maps will stay empty.

A Zaishen will be better because it can rotate daily the map, even can have more maps for some brackets, people choose their mission and get a reward. And if it´s some grinding, kitten, there´s no MMO in the world that don´t have even a little grind. And it will note even be required for nothing. Just something more for a player to do and get a reward.

But the idea of an underflow server will be better than everything discussing here and for me that´s the idea that everyone must put they efforts on.

Not every charr is happy to be friends with humans (and vice-versa). Like centaurs, dredges, frogs, monkeys… they have “the potential”. So there always be a faction in a war and every nation have to treat not only the elder dragons but internal problems. So you can see a problem with politcs inside the walls of their nations (charrs vs flame legions, humans vs centaurs, etc…).
It´s not necessary to put a politic problem in cities with a multicultural diversity like lion´s arch.

And the religion, you must go to Brazil, and see what a multireligion people can be. We can even have fusion between religions forming new religions. Just like Tyria. You can see in their cities the segregacionism, even some NPCs can respond different to you because you are of another race, but in Lion´s Arch the multicultural ambient turn the religions intolerance off.

Humans and Charrs simply don´t get Magitech from Azuras because they are in WAR. Charrs even don´t liked azurans (I saw something ingame about two charrs talking about them). Humans was almost lost send to corners in Kryta. One corner they have charrs, the other Centaurs, it hinders a lot contact with other civilizations.

Azurans aren´t the best neighborhood. Their magitech not always is reliable and they tend to show it with a loud bang. They prefer to experiment on other races than talk and give technology to them (Skritts, Silvary) and prefer to be left alone.

Charrs, a segregacionist race. They don´t like anyone and even can eat other races with satisfaction (maybe not the frogs…). If not for the dragons they could stay like this forever.

Norns, they love their life style (me too). Drink, dance, hunt, more drink… It´s hard life but for them it´s pleasant and a good way to honour the spirits.

Sylvaris, a curious and young race, they can adapt well with everything because their relation with the pale tree, the dream and their hive mind. And they come in the beggining of the war with the dragons and the stop with the hostilities between charrs and humans. their curiosity and ingenuity given the time will surpass even the azurans. But at the moment they look happy to adjust everything to their needs.

Why not put a simple system like there are in GW1. A panel where people choose where to go. Simply they go to desired map, and there are a button that open a panel where he can choose one more os less populated. It even can be better to mantain constant tests on events because there will always a full populated map and a empty map and even between.

Its another of their DR system. If you do a dungeon really fast an repeat it very often it just give you half the tokens. Wait at least one hour to redo dungeons again and it will be fine.

In meanwhile just do another dungeon.

The people who exploit dungeons (not talking about skip a trash mob instead of kill EVERY TRASH in our way) are the first ones to complain about when they hotfix the exploit.

Why that? Because they are so addicted to the exploit that they don´t know well how to do it right and fast. And if we ignore the whinning or they will discover another exploit or learn how to be effective or just quit (thanks kitten).

Advice for first time with a PUG

There´s no way to know if you will be sucessful or not. I got PUGs that are faster then my guild group to advance in a dungeon (without skipping major/problematic/boss mobs) or using every exploit to do this. And I get in PUGs that even people skipping and exploiting there are a lot of semi-wipes, wait for players to skip mobs and every problem that make a easy dungeon looks like a SE in nightmare mode.

The best you can do is DON´T USE the MF set. Try to be as prepared as you can and pray to others do the same.
