Before WoW, it was pretty normal for an mmo to have things that weren’t likely to be had by every Tom, Dick, and Harry. I blame WoW’s success, which came because it was overly friendly to the casual player. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with casual play (I am very casual here, and fairly casual in WoW), but the way that today’s gamers expect everything handed to them on a silver platter nauseates me.
I have everything for my legendary but precursor. How can i improve my gameplay? I don’t want to be casual any more. Teach me master!
Better yet, stealth needs to be completely removed from the game. It’s pure crappiness how someone taking so much damage can simply stealth to freedom every few seconds, if not sooner.
if not removed, it definitely should not be allowed to be used if a dot is on the character. Do what every other class has to do, heal through it or remove the condition.
Also, anyone shooting a bow other than a ranger, should do squat for damage and should not be able to shoot the thing like a freakin’ machine gun.
Ok i will do what others classes do:
- i will equip heavy armor
- i will buf my health to 30k
- i will use death shroud
- i will summon illusions
- i will equip shield
- i will use mass pushes, knockdowns and knockbacks

I also suggest to remove cooldowns from skills like “Rapid Fire” and “Point Blank Shot”. Because thieves still have a chance to use their class mechanic. It is not fair, because they can kill us still
Every class must have a button “kill all thieves on this map”! It will be most fun and fair game ever! Haha!

Since having the ability to set a level requirement on recipies took time and effort to program – why would you think it’s a bug? There is nothing ‘accidental’ about it.
Play through the daily achievment on your alt each day. It’s like 2 free levels. You’ll be 80 before you know it.
1) I think it is a bug because i see no reason for it.
2) I asked my friend to craft it for me. It is much faster than level up 50 levels.
MF does not work on chest loot so jormag doesnt count!
MF doesn’t work on chest alone, as in if you equip MF gear or consume food before opening chest, it won’t affect drops but if you have it on all the time during the fight, it does affect the chest loot. I have full MF gear incl. food & all boosters as well, and I don’t get as many rare drops now as I used to get before the infamous LS patch.

1) I mean your conspiracy theories are totally wrong. You know about “Occam’s razor” right? They don’t need to do such things to control the economy. I can imagine many ingame methods to do so, like that permanent mystic forge conduit. All these promotion recipes are not to make you happy, they need to remove large amounts of unused materials from market, they also can introduce new recipes or change others etc etc.
I believe they just made a mistake somewhere in theirs DR rules, like “- How much time people play per day? 10 hours? Ok, others are bots.” Now all who (like me) is doing his job at home and can stand semi-afk in game for 12 hours per day are under effect.
2) About “perceived”… how can you call your “data”? It is right word, really :-/ Your reaction is anecdotal.
Only one thing i can’t understand, why they need 1 month to pay attention to ours complains?

While i can craft any exotic items i must have 80 level just to learn a recipe! O.o

Until this patch (end of january) can you implement 8 strings of code earlier?

Why not let people choose from 1-5 levels? For example:
1 player: 1 lvl
2-5 players – over 9000 levelsthey can choose 1-5. After completion 1 player have 5th level. Now they can choose from 5 to 10.
After 4 cycles all will be high enough to find a group for theirs levels without problems.

they could do it by level range. a level 1 can be carried by level 2 up to level 10. level 11 can be carried by level 12-20. dot dot dot.
Yes, but why not? What the reason behind wasting time in low level fractals? I know – WoW lovers whine about progression. May be it is time correct this mistake? I am very experienced player with lvl 7(!) because i dont want to go fractals with random people, because most of times i only kitten myself for another try. In same time i have friends of different level 3, 5, 6 for example, we all can do any current dungeon in explore mode. But we dont want to waste our time in fractals. Very simple – they are too easy and not fun at all on low levels!

I just want to share my experience. I had 150% mf set prior 15 nov patch and after. Before patch i had minimum 1 yellow item per 2-3 all known farm events in Orr. Sometimes 1-2 from one. My best record was 4 from one event (if i can remember right)! After the patch i rarely get 1 from 5-6. Also i see significant decrease overall drop after a couple events. Just like DR hits me too fast. After first ~3 events i have ~50 slots of loot, but next 3 events give me may be 10-15.

Read the details of the link, and check gw2spidy… there is a huge oversupply of these right now so the price is low when compared to historic levels. The source of this extra supply has been closed off, so once the market works through these extras, the price will rise again.
There may be a speculative bubble as a result of this post, and the price may surge then crash again as people try to jump on for short term profit, but I believe the OP was looking at it as a longer term investment.
The problem is “many bots farming scales” not “one additional summoned mob had a chance to drop something”.
So NO, prices will continue go down, may be not so fast.
TP uses embedded browser like forefox, opera, ie etc. Sometimes browsers cant load additional scripts / styles and you can see such ugly look. It is not a real prolem, just give your tp another chance
Precursors are not something special from those chests. It is just random like from any random mob. Just chests are not under effect of Magic Find and devs increased base chance to drop something special, may be like you have 100% magic find and kill common mobs, also they drop 5 items + 2 crests. It is good for people with 0% mf, but just waste of time who have 150%. If you can kill dragons in 5-10 minutes, it is ok. But when you must spend 30+ minutes… no, thanks.
I did kill 50-100 dragons (never counted tbh) and i got only one exotic from them: named but not a precursor. In same time i got ~5 named exotics from random mobs. I think it is more profitable to farm events with many mobs (big numbers do the trick).
One bad thing is: real life lottery must declare chances (in my country). Arena dont tell us % to get particular things – it is unfair.

It really isn’t. I can be happy for those who got a precursor. But I just don’t want to play a game where luck is deciding how well I do. If i wanted a game based on luck, I’d go play at the local slot machines.

My problem does not push me to cry about karka rewards.
I need ~2 stack of T6 mats + 100xIcy Runestones + precursor. When i think about T6 mats and Icy Runestones, i know how much money and time i need. Every day i closer to my main goal. But when i think about precursor, i can’t undertand when i will get it. May be i will never get it! I can’t plan anything it is just random which has no normal solution makes me angry.
I only do them when i semi-afk at the game. And at jormag i just farm his crystals. Funny thing is on some events it is more profitable to farm event and fail it than complete the task. Claw of Jormag spawns crystals ~2 minutes, mobs can drop Corrupted Lodestones + other craft mats, but the dragons chest drop ~10 silver in sum. Same with Temple of Grenth, it is more profitable to farm minions then fail it and start again. It is how the game designed. LoL.
When mobs dont drop anything – nobody wants to spend 30 minutes for 10 silver.
It is envy. I dont complain, but i think i can understand. People dont need the chest, they need a precursor for theirs desirable nice looking items. Arena just destributed a portion of VERY VERY VERY valuable items to some lucky people and the rest feel arena hates them.
I really dont understant why arena put so much korean random to game, that rewards random casuals who may be play 1 day this game and punish others who spend much time and apply personal efforts to get something useful.
Someone put hundreds of items to mystic forge and gets nothing. Someone just login to the game and get the reward! Later 2nd one will finish his legendary faster than 1st probably. It is unfair, plain and simple.

It is the same since you can craft rare items then salvage them.
It is better than other resources. They can remove tons of T5 crafting materials from market by implementing it.

Yes, that was a joke, but…
1) They need something to identify recipes – 250x pieces of item type (orichalcum blades for example)
2) 250x Ectos – nice resource, you can buy it, salvage, etc.
3) Utilize a lot of low level resources. Let’s make a gift of “pure” metal (/other resources) = 250x metal1+250x metal2+250x metal3+250x metal4
4) I look at icy runestones and i think 100 gold is ok for arena.net, they will make 4th component a Gift of Trolling – N amount icyicy runerunestones.
5) They made precursors very rare, very low chance from MF recipes for a reason. So, they will not break it (otherwise they could buf %). Then scavenging hunt should be either one time use or expensive recipe.
I think they will put precursors recipe into a frame 100-150 gold depended on materials from market.
Once we find out how Anet will put in that scavenger hunt process, the prices will drop quickly. Sellers will rush to fill all the Buy Orders to score as high a price as possible.
… or not. I don’t really think it will be easier to get than before. 100% chance against rnd is always more expensive. So, i expect something like
250x white items of that type + 250x ectos + 100x Gift from Dungeon + Gift of Something Expensive

I want to create a website about GW2 and most important things for it are items database and trading post data. I know a couple of ways to gather data from game archieve file and TP web interface, but i dont think it is a good idea.
I think many people in the world need these services:
1) Items database
- you spend some time to write some sql queries
+ you can choose what to show and in proper time
+ we have actual data from 1st hands
2) Trading post data
- you spend some time to write some sql queries (may be some code for cache)
+ we have actual data
+ less stress for yours servers (less frequent requests)
All these things are easy to implement i think. In same time we can make better services for you and for community!

1st of all, sorry for my english.
Well.
1st day. Completed one fractal. Second fractal with bug (titan, hammer stuck in mid air after fall), port to start. Completed two fractals, someone disconnected. Gave up. I can only lvl 1 (a couple of hours wasted).
2nd day. 1st fractal completed. On second one person disconnected… ok, go further… he returned and … we all autmatically ported to LA! Great! Go next! OK! One fractal finished, on second someone said “i must go, job etc”, ok, go in 4. One fractal finished but not counted (no achievement), but we have the window with ready button. Ok, next fractal with asura and golems, looted chest and … nothing, no windows etc… We must port back to start area without special boss, no difficulty lvl increased nothing. Again a few hours wasted.
Afaik 1-9 are insane easy! You forced us to complete all these totally easy bore instances through all the bugs for what?
I just spent some hours for nothing. Very annoying. Hire better testers please.
Please remove this “level” system please.
I did not expect to get something for cheaper price. So it is ok. Just another way to get something another.
I don’t think it is waste of money. I like 250x gathering and salvage tools. Someone wants that skin and he will buy it, even if it will cost more gold compared to same stats weapon.
I am definitely working on the precursor scavenger hunt, but like others have said, things like this take time and I want to get it right. Not to mention, it’s not the only thing on my plate. Please do not expect to see the precursor scavenger hunt in the next patch. I may be awesome, but I am still only human and this is a fairly large amount of work to get done and done right. Please be patient!
Ok. And what about lodestones?
They are very rare! 2 gold * 100 = same problems with precursors :-/
When you fix problems with precursors, lodestones will be next problem (and even worse IMHO).
I cant see myself when whole crowd of people (especially chars and norns) jumps in front of me.
Please reduce amount of people per instance to 3-5!

This happened yesterday. On ~50% of its health it was hard to “focus” even using TAB button. Mesmers and random attacks still damage it. When his health reached 0… you see on screenshot :-/ Nothing is happening here now (many hours in row).
Restart this event on Far Shiverpeaks please.
