Earlier i saw a thief glitch into our sunny, i got his name and tag but put it down to an error on his part. Well, i guess he showed his mesmer friends how to do it because we just had 6-7 FSP players inside our fully upgraded sunnyhill tower, such a shame.

Thanks for the great fights this week. It seems we are going to lose the lead before reset, which is a shame, but FSP have put in a lot of work these last few days and certainly deserve it.

Also, epic fight at GH hills.

I see you guys finally got round to teaming up. A fairly equal prime-time match up has now become an FSP roflstomp. It doen’t matter though we still had fun tonight, i just feel bad that MS is getting the short straw and is taking damage that would otherwise go to FSP.

I wonder if we’ll still see FSP players in here having a go at MS? Probably not.

@LionZero – Yeah, it was fortified and you guys had a good defence going. Sure, we could have brute forced the gate and perhaps wiped a few times, but it was the last point on the map and we weren’t in a hurry. We decided to use the opportunity to test some new treb positions, none really worked out, but it was still fun trying.

@Kaleygh – Our primetime team lacks the large organised guild groups that FSP and MS have, GH is mainly comprised of small 5 man or less guild groups. It may make us less efficient, but you know what? We don’t care, we have a great community, and we have fun (most of the time). If being uberleet breeds your level of arrogance, we don’t need, or want it.

Thanks to all the MS and FSP players who invaded GH tonight, it was a lot of fun – a reminder of how intense WvW can get. I’m a little sad that we couldn’t take back Hills whilst i was there… but there’s always tomorrow

I guess the queueing system could have bugged out. But i think it’s far more likely that your forces were too spread out or uncoordinated.

If you had a queue your numbers were equal.

The alliance didn’t join us, a few guilds from it did. Those guilds are primarily GMT+4 and as such log in early and tend to cap a lot whilst you guys have few defenders, for those few defenders it must suck, but there’s really nothing we can do about it. Also, we are not full, other than reset night i’ve only encountered a short queue on our own borderland once, and that’s when you were rampaging through it and we called everyone back to defend.

During primetime it’s a pretty close fight and you guys give as good as you get. We just have better coverage – give it a few weeks after the scores reset for things to start stabilising.

Unexpected news, but it seems like a good idea. I can’t wait to see the rankings in a few weeks and see how different they are from todays.

I was very impressed with the FR players at GH bay tonight. I don’t think i’ve come up against a random zerg as coordinated and effective as you were, lots of fun. Hopefully this week turns out a lot closer than we’d thought.

I counted six defenders in BT borderland at reset. I knew you guys had a lot of guilds leave, but that was a surprise. Gunnar’s Hold has been through a lot, but even at our worst it didn’t get that bad. I wish you guys the best of luck, i must admit that given the huge numbers disparity i felt really kittenty taking your towers and keeps tonight. I can’t imagine this week will be much fun for you guys.

I had the same happen to me before. I popped a cata near the south inner and was ported underground – it could have been an accident. Did he destroy/attack when he was under? If so that’s out of line and i hope Xoac can find out who it was.

This could be an awesome night. I think i’ve played wvw less this week than i have at any point since release, but i’ll try to be there for this. It may breathe a little life in to what’s been a dreadfully dull week in wvw.

Good luck in finding a new home, you guys have been great opponents these past few weeks. Whatever server you decide to join will no doubt be strengthened by having you on their side.

I think that we on GH could have handled the move of Xoac a little better. We know what it’s like to be outnumbered and know that it results in bitterness and dull gameplay. Ideally we would have asked Xoac to hold off for a few days and let us play out this match before switching, but we were all excited and got caught up in the momentum of it all. I don’t regret welcoming Xaoc to GH, they’ve been very pleasant and they fit in very well, but i do regret that we created further imbalance in a match-up that was already getting rather one sided.

I won’t be posting in this thread again since it’s getting a little too flamey, but i’d like to wish WSR and ROF the best of luck in the weeks and months ahead.

@ventus, Yesterday we had a go at ROF garrison as well. They caught us at the inner and within 30s-1min the place was swarming with defenders. By the end of it we had been wiped twice and i was running around half naked from broken armour. It was a great response and defence by them.

Great video, if i wasn’t so fond of the GH community, i’d have moved to Piken a long time ago. Seems like a lot of fun.

We’ll then, there’s not much i can say to that. It’s just sour grapes on your part. You beat us the first week, we accepted it and moved on. I guess after week one you expected us to be a push over and we weren’t.

Sure, the balance is broken for this week. However, last week and the week before we beat you fairly.

We were going to rise without Xaoc, but without them it would have been extremely difficult for us once we got there. I really wish you guys would stop the sniping, i understand that you’re frustrated, but at this point it just seems petty. Your implying that we didn’t beat you fairly these past two weeks and that’s simply not the case.

I understand your reasoning, but it is an exploit. You’re not supposed to be able to use the breakout unless you have 0 towers or keeps on a map.

Yeah i’ve kittened at people for doing that before Crosstrack. Unfortunately some people don’t know how the breakout event should work and don’t realise it’s not intended. I’ve even seen players on our own server do it.

We’re looking at rising a tier and we need to adjust. If we went there with our numbers (pre Xaoc) we would have been outnumbered during most of the day. We aren’t trying to screw over ROF, we’re simply trying to get ourselves into as good a position as possible for when free transfers end and we rise a tier.

I understand how bad it feels to lose 2 weeks in a row and obviously i would rather we faced opponents in a fair contest. Unfortunately, this week will be unfair for both you and WSR, but you need to understand that we didn’t plan this to screw you over. It’s not personal.

Even if that was the case (it’s not btw) you have no right to complain given that you teamed with ROS against us. It’s entirely hypocritical.

For what it’s worth we’re currently outmanned on 2 borderlands, and its been like that most of the day.

Good fights on GH BL tonight. ICON gave us a bit of a scare early on and i had to call in some backup to get them dislodged. Whilst we were fighting them, some sneaky WSR players nearly ninja’d our hills.

As for numbers, I think we probably outnumber ROF quite substantially, but not because we’ve had a large influx of players from other servers. It’s because we’re winning and have a lot of backup from our PVE players, and because you’re losing they’re staying away. Sure, we have organised very well in recent weeks, but that can’t be the only reason behind our 600pt tick this morning.

Unfortunately your actions during the first week (alliance with ROS) left a sour taste , especially with me. And as a result, I tend to focus on ROF more than i do WSR, i imagine other commanders and guilds are doing the same.

I would avoid the lower tier if you want to avoid the zerg mentality. Vabbi and Surmia just had an influx of hero guilds who’ve come down from the upper tiers to save the day. It’s gonna be painful down there for a while.

I’m on Gunnar’s Hold in tier 8, and even here zergs are an important part of the game. Most of the time though they’ll be around 20-30 players and will seek to engage each other rather than avoid and cap towers. Unlike in the higher tiers, we don’t need to cling on to every last point, we don’t need to be efficient when capping towers or retaking camps – it’s a lot more casual.

Likewise, kyus. Piken was a great opponent, very skilled and gracious in victory. From what i could tell our servers had similar outlooks and perhaps that’s why we had such fun against each other. It was all about fun and fair fights, kitten the points, lets get stuck in and beat each other up. I still remember it fondly.

As for any GH PVE players/guilds wanting to try out WvW – please get in touch. Don’t worry about feeling lost or messing up, we have community members who give regular wvw tutorials and who are very good at answering questions. The GH community is amazing, we have dozens of guilds working together with no egos. The glory hunters left long ago and took the drama with them. What’s left is a committed and mature playerbase whose primary concern is being as good as we can be without compromising our integrity or letting points get in the way of a good time.

Right now we’re a tier 8 server who are currently working hard to reach tier 7 – which i think we’ll achieve in the near future. However, with some more players and hard work we could go even higher. We have the infrastructure and organisation in place, and thanks to a number of people, some of whom have posted in this thread, we are improving day by day.

Recently we’ve had a few guilds join us and they’ve played an important part in our recent success. It’s been a long time coming, but finally our prospects are looking good. If anyone else reading this is looking for a friendly and mature server, for themselves, or for their guild then i’m sure we’d love to have you.

We had a ROF eli from VS guild glitch in to our tower today. I understand it was probably an accident, but next time maybe just jump over the wall rather than try attack us from inside?

Had a great fight in the ROF eastern tower tonight. Lots of fun.

Here’s one that’s been bugging me for a while. Are the mesmer hiding spot on the south cliffs of bay, and in the north east of hills intended? I’m pretty sure the hills one is an exploit/bug because you can see the water through the ground, but the one in bay has a pretty obvious path to it.

We [OS] will not move from WSR for now. This week will be really bad with all the guilds leaving, but sometimes we love to be the underdog. We had some nice fight, mine gank team managed to survive some 1:2 and 1:3 too.

Sadly, we can do nice fight but this can’t stop a massive zerg to take the tower/camp whatever.

I understand the feeling, look at this chart (http://mos.millenium.org/matchups/evolution/eu). Gunnar’s Hold were underdogs for months, we were consistently outnumbered, and were beaten pretty much every week. The experience as a whole wasn’t fun, but our more memorable fights were against larger opponents. Nothing we’ve seen recently can compare with our fights against servers like Piken Square and Aurora Glade. They were brutal and relentless, and our victories, though few, were well earned. This weekend we’ve clearly had a numbers advantage, there’s been very little for us to defend against, and the gameplay has become rather stale. Here’s hoping that both ROF and WSR are in the middle of a weekend slump and that their numbers pick up during the week.

You know, i could deal with the imbalance this sort of server hopping generates in the lower tiers. It’s a by-product of Anets flawed WvW system and as such no one is to blame but Anet. However, every time we see guilds from the higher ranks down here, inevitably there’s cheating. I don’t know if this is because cheating is rampant and accepted in the upper tiers or if the type of guilds who move down do so because they have been ostracized because of their cheating, but what i do know is that we don’t want it.

Unfortunately since your resurrection of vabbi, cheating has returned to the casual tiers, entire guild groups have been caught on fraps bypassing gates. The fact that this is so rampant and accepted amongst vabbi’s new playerbase is pretty astounding. Even more astounding however, is the fact that hardcore WvW guilds won’t face the casual servers in a fair and honest fight. So leet.

To Wing guild, please come get your commander back. He’s being a nuisance.

Unbelievable, every time a low tier server gets players from the higher tiers this kitten happens. If you want to cheat stay up in those tiers, we don’t want you. kitten off.

Had lots of fun tonight. Tried hitting both WSR, and ROF borderlands, which were very well defended. I think my team managed to get the eastern tower on both, but not much beyond that. See you again tomorrow
