Just did a full pug chak gerent 20 mins ago. Not TTS or any other massive guild, full pug. Half the guys didn’t even use food/oil.

I’ve pugged plenty of maps and some have succeeded, some have failed. I only mentioned that Nuhoch kill because you guys were like ZOMG ITS IMPOSSIBRU ITS A HARD LANE whereas the truth is, you’re bad. You’re both bad.
Teq used to be unpuggable too then guess what? People stopped complaining and tried to git gud and look where we are now. Pugs organizing defense teams and killing teq like it’s nothing.

I’ve done semi-PUG maps with LUCK (Deadly cuddles) and he kills nuhoch before phase 3 even happens.
The problem here is that you guys are more willing to complain on the forums for nerfs than learning the fight itself.
I’ve gotten like 5-6 kills already and 2 weapon left for Hivemaster while you’re still here complaining about how hard this map is.
Remember when people were complaining how T4 night VB was impossible and it should be nerfed then suddenly 2 weeks later everybody who organized could get it?

This will happen JUST THE SAME to TD.
Learn the fight. Teach people. Drop some food for players. Tag up. It’ll happen.
I also never said TD is easy, I said it was easier than TT which I’ve never been able to pug outside of EVOS/TTS.
Chak Gerent is easier than TT already. I just tagged up last night like 3 mins before start and killed Ogre Lane’s Chak Gerent with 20 seconds to spare, there was barely any organization and we still got 2/4 downed for the free egg.
It’ll be on farm soon enough once people figure out that nomads isn’t ideal and orange circle/purple circle are bad.
It’s been RIP since HoT launch.

All I’m saying is, before Pre crafting and what not you had to force yourself to do a few dungeons a day to save up the gold to make it over a period of time.
It is no different now but instead of 30 mins of dungeons you go chop 30 mins of wood.
Sure it’s not as fun but in terms of time spent it’s not “100+ hours” unless you count the entire legendary.
Chopping wood IS playing the game, much like dungeons. Most of us just find wood chopping boring as hell but bearable if done on a short time daily basis.

It’s fairly easy to get enough wood to craft your daily spirit wood in like 15-20 mins. People just tend to be lazy/impatient that’s why prices are high.
Taking a bit of time out of your day to gather isn’t THAT bad even if logging is arguably super boring.
I believe I got the Auric sliver from mining. It’s been awhile but I’m 99% sure. The tendril is the one that took me awhile. I thought it only came from Monocot or the two cots that follow after him. I was doing that middle path over and over with no success. Just so happened I did the legendary boss on the south east path and I got the tendril in the boss drop along with the bouncy chest.
I was kind of like you, thought am I doing something wrong? I just couldn’t get it to drop. It is random.
That’s the Auric Sliver (crafting material) and if you have specialization collections, the Auric Sharpening Stone which you get from gathering.
The one discussed is Extra-Shiny Auric Sliver which is an RNG drop from killing Auran the Golden Ooze which spawns on westwatch after the pylons are activated.
The north vine took me like 3 tries and the husk took like 2-3 (south). I just had really bad RNG with the ooze or maybe it just has a bad drop rate. I basically finished everything except the ooze one for like 1 week+
Random drop. I had to kill Auran ooze 21 times before I got the Extra-Shiny Auric Sliver
I think a lot of players were on the fence deciding to come back or not depending on how HoT turned out. I know at least 2-3 guilds and 50+ WvWers who were deciding on coming back but saw the crap shoot that HoT was and didn’t even buy it.
People also expected a rise in WvW activity due to guild missions but that hasn’t really happened either because there isn’t much need to do WvW missions when you can cap out on favor doing PvE.
Even ignoring food price for a second, a raid shouldn’t award less than 20 mins of tree logging in Tyria. That’s just dumb imo.

The chest one is just from random chests laying around the open world such that give like 1 currency and chance for rare reclaimed weapon.
The no hint one is in kessex hills outside Uzolan’s whatthingyplace.
Doesn’t even matter if it’s farm mode or not, the loot sucks. 2g and 1 random exotic + rare isn’t worth the effort/time to raid. My food and oil costs more than the reward.
Well it’s available to everyone the thing is whether or not you can do it.
PvP is available to everybody too, but I don’t do PvP because I hate it yet you don’t see me complaining about how PvP is gated/unwelcoming etc.
Raids are accessible to everyone, I don’t have full ascended on my engineers yet I’ve cleared Vale and not been kicked in pugs nor in guild groups.
Yeah the loot is pretty bad outside of Gors giving the 1000g+ Infusions (RNG) which will obviously drop in price over time.
I got like 1 random exotic armor which gave me 0 ectos for vale kill last night after reset. The 2g from the event after combined with all the rest of the loot was worse than a CM1-3 run pre HoT =3
I was hoping for more account bound awesome rewards that good raiders could potentially show off. Maybe even a guild hall statue or something. Idk.
Yeah its terrible right now. Everyone who raids during the week are token capped by the time weekend comes so they get no reward at all for helping guildies who couldn’t raid on week days.
DS is unusually brutal for taxi wars. If you load in to the map at XX:31, you’re probably too late. You’ll join a few taxis for full maps, and then be temp banned from LFG.
+1. Even worse sometimes the party fill up so fast your join button just grey out without getting into party and you’re just supressed.

The merchant at the start sells it if you have mastery for ley line crystals
Bad:
1) Weekly lockout thus no incentive to help other people once u’ve cleared the wing
2) The loot feels mediocre?
3) 10 people kinda hard to get during some timezones
Good:
1) Requires people to up their game to complete
2) Requires coordination rather than 1111111
3) Rewards purchasable with tokens rather than just pure RNG
There was a toy that gave high mobility in WvW which some felt was ‘unfair’ so they disabled the majority of toys in WvW.
I’m not taking sides here I just think it’s stupid to include vistas and point of interests or waypoints as ‘content’.
Did you just compare a vista or a point of interest in GW2 to a fully fledged multi level dungeon in GW1?
GW1 dungeons also had multiple hidden treasures and secret rooms.
It’s probably bugged. I remember when tenebrous crystals first came out there was no indication on what the hell they were and people were just merchanting them. It wasn’t until later they added the “used to craft stuff” text and the requirements in the bottom (armorsmith etc)>

No it’s not worth it lOl.
I just spent 1500g leveling scribe from 350 to 400. Used 20 guild vaults and 7 backpieces.
Then I looked at what I could make at 400 and outside of a grandfather clock there wasn’t much since it’s gated behind other decos/guild level lol.
one of the component for The Chosen collection is Sheet of Quality paper , which is available from lvl 300 scribe, and God knows what getting a lvl 300 scribe would cost you.
it doesn’t make any sense when you can simply buy The Chosen for 400g.
You can buy them on the TP now. I flooded the market lowering the prices on the papers kek.
Still not super cheap but instead of 2000g getting scribe to 300 you can instead use like uhhh 8 gold.
It’s more like the green circle decides to spawn right where your aggro holder/melee is and they can’t move out of the way fast enough which spawns the teleport circles.
That’s the only RNG I can think of.
Raids are new and people aren’t familiar yet. Once you can get people that know what to do, the vale guardian takes… ~10 mins including the trash mobs.
The time investment is only the initial bit, once people get used to raids it won’t be a 30 hour investment every week. Heck I haven’t even raided for 30 hours and downed first boss. NA only took 30 hours because they had to figure out all the mechanics by themselves.
You know what’s worse is I finished this before they added the mini for the legendary and now I don’t have the mini RIP.
Didn’t realize this got nerf. The removal of halloween 2012/2014 ap also happened but they said they will fix it. Maybe send in a bug report?
Not many people here care abt AP so yeah. I cared but didn’t even notice this nerf due to the massive influx of WvW AP boosting it so high

I half pugged this with a non meta comp (we had 2 chronomancers).
Make sure you pick Eir and Canach. Canach requires you to break his CC bar and just DPS. Super easy fight compared to the rest.
Eir you need to DPS the pet down and then DPS/AoE Eir as she tries to res. You have to dodge the flame circles. Not that bad, just takes a while.
For the final boss part not really that bad, the fight is mostly the same as normal mode except the last phase which requires you to dodge his big orange circle once every few seconds.
You get spirit shards from logging in and champ bags.
Same as experience scrolls.
Spirit shards are different from hero points. Hero points are only obtained from skill challenges in the open world and leveling up to 80. Spirit shards are the old “skill points” which you can obtain in dailies, champ bags and so on.
So basically each character you want to use in WvW will need hero points to build this elite spec which means some level of PvE mapping.
But yeah hero points really aren’t that bad to get since most skill challenges are just easy “commune here” types. Just bring a lot of mobility stuff and speed/centaur runes.
Flippers barely make any money for the effort they put in lol. It’s far easier to just grab watchwork picks and go on a rich node hunting spree.
I also like flippers since they keep the market spread low for me when I wanna buy and sell stuff

Launching a game is an enormous undertaking and our teams need time to address any issues that come up. Therefore after launch we must move WvW reset to Saturday. We will keep resets on Saturday to address issues and once we are in the clear we will evaluate the best time for WvW reset both for us as a company as well as for our players.
Since it is clear that we cannot pick a time that will work for everyone, we will be maintaining our original plan of shifting reset by 24 hours, to Saturday evening. That time was based on data for when prime time occurs in each region.

We understand that launching HoT could impact WvW and shifting reset temporarily would not have been met with such resistance if you had been forthcoming in the first place and explaining why you had to do it as well as mentioning that the switch was temporary.
The fact that you guys tried to twist this as a “for WvW players” thing when the majority did not ask for a reset time alteration probably didn’t sit well with people.
Personally I’d be ok with giving up a few resets and ability to play with my SEA friends (temporarily) if it means you guys can iron out any issues with HoT launching/WvW new maps.
If the reset time changes are permanent though then I’ll go back to grabbing my pitchfork because I like playing with SEA people
Unpopular opinion: It’s 2-3 hours of the week; I’m actually fine with it. If my guild doesn’t rally, I’ll follow along with a different guild and then rally as normal in the evening. Carry on as normal.

Lol what a joke. Reset = 5am Sunday for OCX players and 2-3am Sunday for SEA players. Great job now 2 entire timezones probably won’t be able to play reset in addition to losing half the weekend of competitive WvW.

Just when I thought WvW couldn’t die any faster you guys pull this off. 10/10 I couldn’t kill WvW this well even if I tried.
I won’t be doing them at all if they nerfed it that hard. At that point I might as well go snooze train eotm or something for that pay out rate.
Dungeons were already effort having to get people, food/oils etc. Just ain’t worth it to me to bother for 26s lol
They could’ve deincentivized dungeons by making other content more appealing but since they aren’t doing that it goes to show that ANet themselves lack confidence in their HoT content standing on it’s own merits.
If they had said the raw gold generation was the main problem, one could sympathize but clearly this is not the case and it simply looks like ANet is forcing dungeon runners to do other content by ruining dungeons.
There was no real need to gut dungeons, their rewards were already behind SW chest farming, tp flipping and selling fractals. Heck even gathering with a watchwork pick yields more nowadays.
I’m seriously considering not buying HoT right now since they’ve ruined WvW and now dungeons. Raids don’t exactly tempt me and gimping all the other stuff that I play doesn’t scream ‘buy this now’.

I don’t understand the nerf to dungeon rewards, they were already like 4th or 5th on the gold/hour scale behind other methods such kitten chest farm.
Does the reward team even understand how to hand out rewards properly? People already flock to what is profitable (eg. world bosses, SW chest, dungeons) and ignore content that isn’t profitable. Rather than nerf dungeons they should have addressed the paltry rewards in open world events not killing off what little incentive there was to do dungeons.
If things like SW chest farm aren’t addressed then this just looks like ANet trying to shoehorn people into doing raids by making dungeons undesirable.

50 has better rewards I think. Like higher chance for tonic, wep chests and stuff?
I still get rings so I prefer selling my slot for 20g :P
I feel that water field blasting and cleric guardian will still offer better healz than druid
