I mean the simplest solution would be to limit MMR range within 200 or maybe even 300 across all teams. The problem you describe happens when you have silver players with plat and it’s just too hard/impossible to carry that sometimes lol.

Generally, people within my own rating range would be around my level and I’d never get 5-6 top stats or hard carry.

Feels like you’re just scared your guild won’t be able to grow since it’s mediocre at everything and if people had 10 guild slots or more they’d just join specialized guilds and yours will suffer.

You write these long wall of texts that make no sense using words that make sense individually but together mean nothing.

Maybe if you don’t want to be used as a glorified LFG don’t join or make a 500 man guild, there’s no way you can create the level of socialness like a small guild with such a big guild.

All the guilds I’m in would not hurt wrt social building at all if more slots were added because I wouldn’t suddenly stop being friends with them just because I have more guild slots.

Instead of having so many guilds, why not the guilds consolidate to form a bigger one? If multiple raid guilds combine to form a large one, you easily can find more people to raid with and gets a lot of things done. Likewise for pvp, wvw and pve guilds. Finally, a social guild of a size of your choosing. The main point is the guild is designed to be 500-men large, if people are under utilizing that, it is not anet’s issues, it is players created issue.

Bigger guilds aren’t always better, especially raid guilds. When you have more people it is harder to maintain a high quality of players which is why most raid guilds like DnT/NA/qT/SC etc all generally have at MOST 100ish people, and many are alt accounts.

Then there’s things like WvW where you could be part of a community guild (eg. CERN) and part of a GvG guild and part of a roaming guild. Totally different focuses that one guild does not cover.

And then there’s PvE guilds. 500 man guilds tend to be mainly used for guild missions and upgraded halls. You’d need 2 just to get lost precipice/gilded hollow if you want the skins (shimmering/tenebrous).

If you play multi timezone then you might also need 2 guilds. I know Americans that play SEA and NA and are in 2 raid guilds because of that since there aren’t any decent raid guilds which cover both timezones reliably.

For some older players, we have a bunch of personal guild banks too.

Overall I see very little downside to upping guild slots. If you don’t want them then don’t buy them.

You really shouldn’t tunnel vision into mid-close as the only acceptable option. Sometimes you just can’t win mid no matter what due to comp so it makes sense to go side nodes and force them to be outnumbered while they have a guy afking mid which tends to happen a lot because some people aren’t very bright.

I never said the build was OP or that I had a problem with it, all I’m saying is WvW doesn’t matter at all when people are talking about the build in PvP.

It’s like how symbolic DH is strong in PvP as a 1vX node holder but it’s useless in WvW because you aren’t fighting for nodes and WvW burst is more substantital due to food/more stats so sustain builds aren’t as strong (which also applies to the d/d thief in question).

In a more specific example, Maygi would push Lord on Foefire early and bad players would flock to defend it causing a snowball in the map in their favor and usually still getting the lord kill. In WvW you don’t really have to worry about defending an NPC when fighting the thief nor do you have to consider your team mates picking an unfavorable matchup to fight nor do you have to consider small scale team fights like 2v2/3v3.

WvW is just a bad frame of reference overall for PvP and has no relevance in the discussion.

Wouldn’t mind if PvP got some unique skins say thru league tickets that were tradable for big $$$$ on the tp like GW1 had their PvP skins/trims etc

Nah it’s not useful at all, just something that still works (even if it takes 5 hours). I just figured if they wanted to prevent abuse of a raid boss they’d change the instance itself (revealed when fight starts) rather than change the thief build and not preventing the cheese.

Just felt more of a WvW fix to me than a raid one that’s all but opinions can vary I guess.

WvW has been complaining about ghost thief since the release of HOT. They killed it after a ghost thief solo killed a Raid Boss.

Did anyone else watched The ESL games heading into HOT and then HOT S1.

4 d/d eles and 1 thief followed by 3 mesmer 2 revs tournament teams. And the only reason they changed mesmers was because they were too easily boon sharing in raids.

Boon sharing mesmer got killed because of WvW. It’s still 100% quickness chrono in raids so nothing has changed really for PvE apart from taking 2 chrono instead of 1.

The ghost thief still works to solo Sloth, just you can no longer use the traps so only rely on caltrops which makes it take 2x longer. However it is no longer stupidly broken in WvW.

Shrug. You can call me bad all you want but I tested it in a group of similar skilled players and necro was underperforming every fight except matthias compared to other more optimal DPS roles.

Epi is useless if your comp isn’t going to spread condi to mobs, so it’s only useful at like Deimos for me (which I mentioned) and Condi transfer is only useful at Matthias which I also mentioned. Even on Deimos, only the 25% splits mattered since we don’t bother condi bombing the prides, just 1 immob/entangle and let it be. I get like 1 epi in off the Saul because they die so fast with our group DPS.

Also I was talking about taking FtB over ice bow without a necro in the first place. ie. is it better to have 2 eles take FtB over 1 ele ice bow and 1 necro which requires extensive testing that I’m not gonna do.

• Impossible Odds now pulses quickness to you and up to 4 nearby allies.
• Impossible Odds now only has -7 upkeep.
• Ventari’s tablet now pulses 2s of alacrity on up to 5 nearby allies without requiring Natural Harmony to be cast.

That wouldn’t do much since you’d be taking shiro/ventari which means you don’t pulse heavy boons like Herald which means…shared empowerment only does so much. Then when you swap out of either legend you don’t get either quickness or alacrity.

I also have a feeling that the build would do very little damage since all your energy would go towards ‘buffs’.

They just need to rework rev completely from the ground up instead of trying to band-aid fix

Tested necro pretty extensively across bosses last week using Arc and BGDM. I’d say only matthias warranted necro as the strong pick and every other boss condi ranger (or mesmer), ele, condi warrior were all better. Even on matthias I’d hit 17k dps and the condi mesmer can hit 19k.

That is not to say necro is trash, it’s actually pretty good but I don’t really need the utility of epi in my group so there is no reason to sacrifice any sort of dps for it.

Still you’d be better off with a necro at Matthias than an Ele for most cases and probably Cairn and deimos too. I was mostly comparing it to other DPS roles like Condi ranger/Condi warrior etc.

Didn’t really test the ice bow thing that requires a lot more testing especially since the Ele can take feel the burn instead of ice bow for personal DPS.

ANet’s matchmaking has always been a joke, only more obvious now that nobody plays

I had this issue last week. I’d lag on specific IP addresses 38.210 and sumthing else while the rest would be fine.

It happened in fractals, raids and PvP. Not sure what to say, pretty sure it wasn’t my ISP since every other instance/IP was fine. It fixed itself after the latest patch for me so good luck to you lol

It’s a sale because for people who buy gems with real money they get more for their gems. Also applies to those who stored gems up using gold→gems before the sale.

DPS depends heavily on your buff uptime.

Buffs like grace, might, fury, quickness, spirits etc all matter.

In an ideal raid situation (static groups) you can probably hit 85%+ of qT benchmarks but like other people said you just wanna make sure your DPS players are top 4 slots, PS war next 2 (condi), and condi druids are the next 2 (unless druid is magi then chronos should be next 2 and magi druid at the end).

It also depends what meter you are using. If you use Arc then it doesn’t pause during split phase at VG for example then your DPS is gonna be like 14k which might actually be really good already. BGDM pauses during splits so it will show higher target DPS at the end.

On BGDM for example for VG I’d pull over 28k DPS on a DPS class but Arc would say maybe 15k

esportz was never a problem to progression of PvP. ANet was.

The fact the PvP team is unable to balance anything (due to the balancing team being separate and answering to all 3 modes) totally killed PvP. Bunker mesmer in S1 lasted almost the entire season. S5→S6 meta no change at all basically etc

This is what happens when the majority of your playerbase quits ranked PvP :^)

Also, I already said last season the whole legendary thing is dumb because it depends on having enough people to distribute rating instead of going by a top XYZ system. For example, top 25 would be legend, top 250 would be plat and so on. It’s just more obvious now that there are no players that the system is flawed.

Why are you playing at 6-7 am? No wonder you’re getting so little. Play during prime time and you’ll get +10 per win and -15/20 per loss. (I’m r19 right now.)

6-7am NA is literally my prime time in Australia.

Not everyone can afford to play during “NA prime time”, especially on NA servers where there’s a 24/7 population around the world that plays on it unlike EU servers.

Just another reason not to play ranked this season, play during these 2 hours or don’t bother progressing! Yep sounds great to me /s

Wow that’s actually terrible and it’s only 1780 rating. Probably almost impossible to get legendary like that (even w/ >90% win rate) climbing from Plat.

Gold t3 is like pretty high on NA, that’s like top 100 so probably rare to find people in game better than you

Ele still wins for my group on Mursaat since we do the qT strat and let 3 come to us and just protect. There isn’t really any use of epi there except maybe 1 pull of the ads which doesn’t make up for the DPS loss on the boss itself.

Deimos CM is the one place where I really liked using necro simply for epi on pride but in normal deimos I’ve tried necro but it didn’t really feel useful. Condi rangers handled the entangles (or druid) on prides easily.

I duno, I like my necro and I want to play it but it just feels so bad compared to everything else (except Rev).

FYI, I play everything even condi ranger, power engi, power DH etc so I’m not an ele main talking down necros. I actually take my necro into raid clears with a good group and try to make it viable but it just seems so bad.

I agree with this. If you balance around gold players, anybody better than gold would abuse the eff out of the broken build(s) and be OP. If you balance around ESL players then there aren’t OP builds since you’d have to be that good to utilize it.

They’ve been trying to slowly numb us to this for ages. People first complained when they put in some account bound stuff like the LS3 map scrolls (bitterfrost vantage) etc but people were defending ANet saying it’s just a thing that doesn’t give any advantage or looks!

Then they snuck in a glider, outfit and skin for Wintersday and people complained but were drowned out because the candle staff skin was pretty common (even by bad RNG standards) and the outfit was also on the gemstore.

They’ve been pretty much trying to be more and more aggressive in their account bound RNG stuff in BL chests and I’ve had it, not buying anymore keys ever.

Just using it as an example of how ‘bad luck’ can ruin it for someone.

$160 on keys and still not getting the skin sounds like one of those P2W/RNG box MMOs people love to shame but unfortunately it’s a reality right now in GW2.

Just because you don’t care about the skin doesn’t mean I don’t. I am an avid skin collector and this is basically my end game but ANet decided to gate it behind trash RNG in trash boxes which is just as bad, if not worse than RNG box MMOs.

Sure you got the drop in a low amount of keys so of course ‘it doesn’t seem that bad’.

You just had good luck, doesn’t mean the system is good right now or fair to the rest of us.

Unranked is a joke lol y do people try and play competitive in that with no matchmaking, joke players, joke builds etc. I only go there for daily and farming achievements, there is no competition at all just a joke all around.

I find SEA to be somewhat ok, there’s quite a few top 250 NA players that play during SEA whereas OCX is just r i p

1 game every 72 hrs, technically you can stretch that to 1 game every 72+24 hours since that 1 game will remove the 100 decay.

Why are you comparing S6 to S1-4. The matchmaking is totally different in these seasons you can’t expect 20 win streaks in S6 unless you’re a plat/legend placed in bronze and you’re duoing with another plat/legend placed in bronze.

Since you played in S5 you’re already around your ‘established rating’ so 50-50 is normal. I’m seeing 50% win rates here what’s wrong?

Depends on what server you play on, there are some IP (38.210) that give me extreme lag and 2000 ping spike in PvP but the rest are fine idk why. Chat and everythig is fine.

Why would you take the Eles ice bow on your necro when you could just replace both with condi rangers so neither has to struggle.
