Queue times will probably be hell since they nerfed the rewards for the “not rly pvp players” like asc armor and transmute stones as well as dyes. Also doesn’t look like there’ll be new Llama or titles so yeah idk population will feel really low?
Hammer guard is a good choice. It brings decent support (protection/CC) to the fight as well as being quite easy to play so it SHOULD be fairly easy to find pugs accepting this compared to power reap.
Fishball.. i usually get all wings clear soon after reset. Bcos there’s a handful of EU players doing raids in their morning time at reset on Monday .. which is Australian time 5.30pm (after I return from work) . .. you can jump in and jump out of squad from LFG to get raids done during that time within 2hours w1to3. That’s why I am a bit unsure about the playtime in NA. Though I know i will get better ping.
Oh reset raids are abundant on LFG as long as you have LI and killproof i think you’ll be fine. Not sure how skill compares on NA to EU though.
530pm/630pm (Syd/Bris) reset has a lot of people so no need to worry much about that.
Well I’m trying to do cm b4 first before b3. It is doable but having to pug esp for oceanic players in EU server it’s very unforgiving. Thinking to switch sever to NA just to get this done and switch back after but then there’s uncertainty on that server too as I hv been in EU since beta… Well since gw1 actually. Any feedback from oceanic players in NA pug raids and accessibility?

I’m Oceanic playing on NA, ping is around 250, 200 if you have NBN, 300+ if you have optus (kek).
There isn’t a massive OCX population though so trying to pug CM during our prime time is pretty much impossible. SEA time there’s more people playing so you could try then I guess but the best might be NA prime.
Stay off point and wear them down. If you have rise, use it/minions to proc traps. DH doesn’t have much sustain if they blow their cooldowns, then go in and finish them with reaper form. Also of course avoid the F1 pull or line of sight to make it hard for them to pull.
I mean even if you hate on Mal and his alliance, the majority of TC isn’t part of it and they’re stuck in this hellhole caused by glicko 5-4-3.

Boss 3 CM is cancer with all the bugs like the human exploding/invuln walking, key/lock mechanic desync so people see themselves standing on each other but the server says otherwise etc
Reality check: I have rev, engi, chrono, thief, ele geared for raids atm (ascended, runes etc.) yet i can’t find any groups for any of those profs beside my ele and chrono (despite me being thief main and playing thief for years), just saying.
It’s been a day so pugs haven’t adapted to the new meta builds yet. Wait until qT posts up their benchmarks at the very least and I can tell you right now thief/engi are actually pretty decent DPS-wise and bring ok utility. There’s no longer high pressure to stack 4 eles (for power) so you’re more likely to get a decent mix especially since most people won’t be pulling the 40k dps+ with the new scepter/wh build.

I was the power engi (Kanna) and I could almost match the condi rangers who I think are at the top for condi damage right now. The other engy was condi but it’s a casual run so the DPS isn’t gonna be qT level (which in theory would be higher than power I think).
You can see though power engi (and thief! which I don’t have logs of unfortunately) is totally viable and actually decent right now just need pugs to wake the eff up which takes time.
ps. Pugs are dumb so you should find a group of friends/guildies if you wanna play engi/thief consistently
pps. There was a recent reddit post saying that pugs on EU that run ele tend to be really bad and do low DPS (probably same on NA) and thief would work better for them just auto attacking but pugs will be pugs rip I know how you feel

AB still gives the best reward out of all the metas from HoT. Whether it is worth it, depends on your value of time.
It’s not uncommon for people to know how to play 2 or 3 classes. But take me for example, I play all 9. I love playing all classes, but I simply can’t with the current ranking system.
I’d argue people swap a lot less than you make it to be. They know exactly how many people swap in all rating brackets. And I am wiolling to bet that the matchmaking will show that those who swap classes cause unfavorable matches (I.E the system said 50% chance to win, but because they swapped, they lost 60% of the time, etc)
Even people in legendary ratings have main classes.
A legendary elementalist is going to perform better than someone who alts an elementalist at the same rating; do you see what I am getting at here? It makes perfect sense, someone who has thousands of hours on one class is going to do better than someone who hasn’t spent the same time.
I mean you’re not wrong, not everyone swaps and not everyone can play at the same level obviously for all their characters.
The problem I have with voting yes is that it will create games where I have slim chances of winning due to the comp which is also out of my control. Say for example I get 3 necros who refuse to swap, I could at least go swap to an ele and support them and pray to god the other side doesn’t know how to rotate but if they lock comps and I’m stuck with 3 necros then it’s RIP for my team unless I get lucky.
Until the devs can come up with a good reasoning/way such that these situations don’t happen I see no reason to support giving the matchmaking system more power over my matches. A balanced comp makes winning a LOT easier compared to weird comps that have no support even if there is no class stacking. The meta also shifts a lot depending on balance and as such no algorithm will be able to predict correctly how to balance team comps.
This matters even at a lower level where people complain eles are unkillable or DH is OP. What if the matchmaking system doesn’t give you any Eles or DHs but the other side has Ele and DH? Nothing you can do about it either since you can’t swap classes.
I want professions locked because that is a prerequisite to stopping class stacking. It’s straight up logic. You cannot cap the number of a given class on a team without locking professions.
As a secondary motive… it might finally force ANET to rethink a couple of the classes that are consistently stacked. I’m looking at you, DH and vault thieves.
So if you end up on a team with only 1 ele and only 1 ranger but the ele is running s/f DPS ele, the ranger is longbow power and you have 0 team support you’d be happy with that?
Or alternatively you end up in a game with a Rev, a thief, a mesmer, a warrior and a necro vs a balanced comp like scrapper, druid, ele, necro, DH which is almost an instant loss assuming they don’t throw or be bad.
In the end you guys are arguing for less choices and more reliance on the RNG that is the matchmaker to give you non bad comps which I would say is stupid considering the matchmaker can barely give good games as is (eg. legends vs silver players hello?).
ps. nobody stacks classes in plat or above because anything more than 2 is almost an instant loss as all classes have their strengths and weaknesses. I mean you guys should just learn how to play the game instead of trying to mess the game up for everybody else who isn’t bad.

You cant, other case people will quee with their lower mmr toons and swap to the higher mmr ones in the warm up or just after queing, so it will end up distorting all.
Problem here its like you said, if class stacking isnt adressed, its eliminating the only tool players have to counter bad comps. So this should be tied with no class stacking, because the choice people will have in this poll will be influenced by the existence of it.
You can. In the end of match just do MMR calculations based on the class you played with. You will gain almost nothing for beating plebs on your main when you’re trying to abuse it by queueing on a low MMR character and then swapping.

The current matchmaking system can’t even do some really basic stuff (eg. not put legend duos vs gold players) and you guys wanna trust it to make you a good team where nobody can swap class or build (because lets face it, 1 minute isnt enough to full change build w/o template).

The majority of the playerbase is BAD at pvp. They can only play ONE CLASS and likely ONE BUILD. They are extremely biased and prefer this poll to be yes.
At the higher levels people multi class and realize what needs to be swapped to make their team viable (eg. 3 necro = bad with no ele, 2 nec + 1 ele at least sorta ok).
Yah I got 99 stack and didn’t get petrified, could still do everything just fine.
So the last boss of Wing 4, sometimes the pink “hands” that spawn don’t render as quickly/properly for people running on lower settings or LOD is disabled or whatever.

Yep this farm is atrocious, the amount you get is not worth it at all for the effort and returns are even worse than farmin Laby when ToT bags tanked which speaks a lot.
I don’t understand why they made it RNG and T5 majority when they specifically said they wanted us to have a NON RNG WAY to farm T6 leather. This isn’t NON RNG.
This is just like bloodstone fen farming the hides and stuff which is probably better right now tbh.
I would not worry about the titles, everyone who pvp’s know’s they are tainted. Remember when the Wings were suppose to mean something then we found out anyone can get them? Remember when getting Legend in seasons 1-4 was suppose to mean something then we found out anyone can get them? Seriously there was a post from a player season 3 I think where a guy played 400 games had only a 40% win rate and still made legend. Let’s also not forget that yes a lot of people exploited their way to titles but a lot of people were legit.
All games are going to have this toxic behavior of cheaters being cheaters but don’t let something like a title ruin your day.

I think most of you miss the point. A non 5 man q in ranked makes it competitive for the majority of the community and makes PvP more fun for most soloers too since they don’t get farmed by 5 mans. Helseth supported this and he was right, S5 was pretty good with some issues which will hopefully be fixed in S6.
Pro league is a totally different issue, these guys play top tier and compete as a TEAM. They don’t wanna queue ranked as a team lol, they’re too good for that. They want to compete with other teams on a pro league/cash tourney level which ANet hasn’t organized for almost a year. If they can’t play as a team there’s nothing for them to do in GW2 since they’ve already reached the top as a team, it makes sense to move on to another game for now if not permanently.
I actually don’t really like Helseth, I think he is too arrogant but you can’t deny he makes sense in the video where he talks about competitive ranked and not having 5 mans there and this video too. He’s also much better as a person, and player than everyone on the NA pro league scene.

I figured there’d be a rush at the end for rating, the top 250 on NA went from 1750 to 1795 or so towards the end, kinda crazy :/
The problem is there’s no way to see how many people are around 250 but not in it, it would’ve made it a lot better if I could tell how much rating I needed to pad to sustain top 250 in the final days.
I will agree with this much: the 15% TP fee is game-saving for the economy.
Events like Halloween, Wintersday, and New Year are great gold burns because they award “bags” which are sold in great numbers, draining gold from the economy.
I would be interested in seeing what percentage of the 15% sink is from the 1% doing flips, and what percentage is the “commoners” performing basic buys/sells. Only then can we really say if the 1% is helping the economy in the way the OP states.
New year doesn’t rly drain gold, envelopes give 3-4g profit a day if you buy all 16 and insta sell.
Edit: which by extension means every envelope you open on average has ~1.2g (@800MF) or more worth of junk items..

1794 right now for top 250 lol. Lots of effort put in on the last 2 days by folks playing legit.
PvE players are fine it’s just the rating at start is too high and matchmaking puts 1200 vs 1950 sometimes.
Make the rating for new player 900 or 800 and make the MMR limit on teams within 300 rating or something.
@Impact there’s like nobody playing on NA right now lol most of us just hoard the rating and sit afk.
The problem is the rest of your team is gonna be silver or gold cuz nobody wants to queue and lose their rating which means you have to hard carry AND you’ll lose -16 or -18 and gain like nothimg since the average team MMR is gonna be gold or lower.
You have to queue during NA prime or expect huge losses
Park a level 50-ish character at Jumping Puzzzles for RNG chance of plat doubloon. Forging is also an option but RNG/effort etc.
Same thing for me sephiroth I’d run into top tier duos all the time and I’d just end up getting frustrated and not queue. Also I’d start queue dodging too since as a solo q player I had no chance vs that in gold/plat (they were legend).
This just made the problem worse as everyone queue dodge or don’t play and in the end it even affects silver league players :/
You can’t compare EU and NA ratings since they’re different regions with different population player density.

From what I recall when I did my decay matches, a loss with a DC doesn’t count to removal of decay. A win against a team with DC does count though

The #4 is the same person as #1 who is a well known cheater in the PvP community on NA
There’s actually a pro league NA duo (hint: same guy who throws Helseth’s games on EU) right now who are cheating by having alts “disconnect” or throw on the other team. I don’t doubt that some of the top players are very good and capable of high win rates but there’s a lot of cheating going on in NA which explains some of these win rates.
The other thing is, legendary players can match up vs silver which makes their win rate also very high since there’s no way a silver player is going to beat a legendary duo without having a legendary duo on his own team which doesn’t happen often.
It’s not that NA is worse (it might be) but there’s less people playing so the matchmaker just puts silver vs almost legendaries which means you have no idea if the player is a bad plat player or he might actually be silver and you’re making the wrong assumption about their rank.
Obviously as a silver player the only way to truly gauge your skill is to put you vs almost legendary players! /s

I don’t wvw anymore because server stacking, pop imbalances and the general unfun HoT meta has made it realllly boring. I used to play wvw every day but now maybe once every 6 months if lucky lol. It also doesn’t help there’s not much reason to play either.
PvP I do it but out of rewards only because it’s not fun for me. Conquest is boring and there is little to no build variety. Matchmaking sucks and half the time I’m being farmed by pro league duos or I’m farming some poor gold players.
