This guy must be lying to prevent other players from buying ToT. He must’ve got at least few Phospholuminescent Infusion. Few friends of mine opened around 5k and they got 2. This guy should have got more than 10-20.
Think about it for a second; precursors have somewhere around 0.79% with 2901 trials chance of dropping. You mean to tell me this item has lower drop chance than precursor? 100,000 ToT= less than 0.00001% chance. Haha! Good try. Don’t believe this guy.

lol. I know Enko from LOD opened over 60k bags too and didn’t get infusion. I opened 71k got none and I’m sure mystic doesn’t lie, he’s rich and wouldn’t need to do this to get ‘ahead’.

Just cuz someone got lucky doesn’t mean the rate is that high, each bag is independent RNG roll so you could in theory open a million and not get it.

If you think precursors are lowest rate in the game, ghost dog is a lot lower. I opened 363k ToT bags before to get it, I even posted it on reddit with all my findings and I think that’s partly why it was buyable the year after tbh.

I opened 71k ToT bag and got

- 16 polys (4 black, 6 green, 3 orange, 3 teal)
- 2 endless batwing
- 3 gifts (1 of each)
- 2 legendary luck
- 2 mini charles

Just adding some data in this thread, didn’t really bother recording every single drop.

I will note that the exo weps from last year dropped wayyyy lower this year but they’re still pretty worthless on the TP.

From what I’ve seen, the recent changes didn’t affect top-tier groups too much (qT casually killed Xera with 4+ mins on the timer), but average groups have noticably harder time than before.
Thanks to the baseline nerfs of Druid healing, you’ll be seeing less heals overall no matter the gear (even full magi Druid will do less heals than pre-nerf). This will put a group under bigger pressure and will result in a DPS loss (because more dodges and recovery are needed) in addition to all the baseline DPS nerfs (boon duration, quickness uptime,…).
So everytime you had a “close kill” pre-nerf, it will basically become a wipe now. Raids are overall more demanding and will require much better gameplay.

Didn’t really notice much change in the clear post patch, took out all the necros/thieves/rev and filled it with eles instead, pretty much the same had perma quickness etc and I’m definitely not qT level.

In fact it probably felt better than the old 4-4-2 comp as an Ele since I get much more alacrity so lava font is less aids.

Whatever, long live dual chrono 5-5 comps & r i p my necro/rev/thief and hammer dh.

As a Power Necro who uses GS and Axe, I am actually happy.

Not sure why you’d be happy that your class now instead of being ok at something is now bad at everything.

It’s not like GS/Axe power necro is suddenly useful in PvE, it’s still bad but now with the nerfs, condi is also bad.

Nobody brought a chrono for dps lol, it was always alacrity/quickness which will now be covered by 2 chronos and no revs. RIP REV, already a weak class after sword 2/auto nerfs but pretty much useless now.

i farmed silverwastes for about 4 hours to get a stack of gear and purses and 100 heirloom pouches. opened them all and got 25 hardened leather sections. thats a kittenton of work for that little hardened leather.

Sounds about right, I did 6 hours of Bloodstone fen and got 30 back before Ember Bay came out with map hopping UG and tagging as many events as I could.

It only sounds right if you’re a masochist – and one with no life, to boot.

I know you’re 50 kinds of salty right now but I meant that his experience mirrors mines when I say sounds about right rather than the drop rate is fine.

Nerf to bloodstone crystal nodes?

Same amount of nodes for me with 2 characters doing the standard run. I don’t park them in Bfen though it definitely sounds like diminishing returns.

I had super bad RNG today though on the Blood Rubies, I usually get ~10 or so from the entire node run but today I only got 2 from hitting all the nodes. Not sure if stealth nerf or bad RNG but I’ll probably say RNG until I have further proof.

If nerfing facet of nature is enough to push Rev out of Raids then it means 2 things:
1) It’s completely overpowered and needs to be reduced in strength if teams are soooo worthless without it
2) Revs need to get other buffs to make them more wanted and competitive, something the Rev community should’ve been asking in the first place. I don’t understand how Revs are happy being boon duration bots for their friendly chrono nearby and call it “Exciting”.

A well deserved nerf but Revs would also need some serious buffs. The main problem with that is Revs are really powerful in PVP, if they buff their DPS for example, they might become competitive in PVE, but it will have some serious consequences in PVP, it’s the same reason why they can’t buff Scrapper in PVE. Unless they do some skill splitting between PVE and PVP buffing Revs (and Scrappers) is not easy.

Your #2 is basically spot on. #1 isn’t the case as teams already can run without Rev since Chronos can do 100% by themselves without the 50% from Rev. The F2 on Rev currently just barely pushes it into “ok good enough” to take along.

Most of us that played Rev before they nerfed the kitten out of it knew that they would be nothing more than F2/boon bots once the DPS nerf hit. Some of us complained about it but since it was OP in PvP most people felt the nerfs were justified while it got shoehorned into a boring role in PvE/raids.

So yes Rev and Scrapper need some serious buffs to be useful enough to take along in a 10 man comp for raids but also yes they are so strong in PvP there’s no room for buffing without breaking PvP “balance”.

I disagree with the way anet goes about it, but the personal dps/healing and support a druid brings is absoluty ridiculous.

Have you ever played druid or looked at the numbers? Druid DPS is amongst the LOWEST of all classes.

That doesn’t apply in this case since boon sharing is a problem in both WvW and PvE raids. In raids it is only an issue for speed running since you can easily finish all raids without the OTT boon sharing.

Boon sharing has never been a PvE/Raid problem, don’t talk about things you have no idea about.

Raids will still finish at the same speed now it just kills diversity since we’ll take 2 chronos instead of 1 and remove all classes that don’t benefit from alacrity (RIP thief, hammer DH, rev etc).

Even with the SOI Nerf we’d get every boon we need, that isn’t even a problem for PvE since we don’t stack everything up to 3 minutes like WvW.

I don’t understand why the game was modified to allow for just wvw or spvp or pve balance changes but is not being used in this case? This is clearly an issue in wvw/spvp and pve is going to have to dearly pay for it as a result.

Severely disappointing. This is making potentially rev and mes (who both have crappy dps) not valid in raid after this and ruining druids chance to do anything other than heal.

And they’re like thinking of buffing Rev/Mes DPS which will push them in the “a lil bit OP” in PvP while “still probably useless” in raids.

You would think this would be well received, now you guys can come up with new comps and actually put some thought into beating those scripted encounters. I bet the “hardcore” (lol) gw2 pve folks will treat this like a minor speedbump.

The comps already been figured out, 5-5.

Like you said GW2 isn’t exactly rocket science and the meta isn’t hard to figure out if you’ve been playing for a long time.

All this change really does is push away other classes like thief, DH hammer and rev from PvE raids since they have 0 benefit from alacrity.

It’ll be back to staff eles and the like.

You know how commanders in WvW are like we need more frontline and chastise every other non frontline? Well it’ll be the same in raids but with eles vs everything else.

2 & 3 have nothing to do with solo/duo q. For example people may have gripes about the matchmaking AND mixed queues with premades in them.

We know ANet considers 1 already since they polled WvW before and people were questioning whether or not they were ‘real WvW players’ so I’m sure they’ll check the numbers here to see if they’re mostly ‘real PvP players’.

Don’t wait for people to teach you, go learn the raid yourself by watching the 1000s of videos that are online.

Sabetha is like so old now there are clear guides on what she does and what you need to do. If you don’t know where to throw the bombs (hint: it’s marked on the minimap) then it is a clear sign you didn’t prepare yourself accordingly.

Also this might be harsh but you probably think you’re better than you really are. Occasionally doing T4 fractals and full ascended doesn’t mean you’re good and it’s hard to really gauge how good you are even though you’ve cleared bosses (could’ve been carried).

The best thing for you is to go to training raids, make friends in those (the good players) then eventually they’ll invite you to some raid or you can invite them and form a semi-organized group that way.

People who play in premades are a minority though and they’ve had 4 seasons already where they could farm solos so I’m all for having 1 season where the solo players get to have a more balanced playing field.

People talk about team queue competition etc but this must be an EU thing because on NA 90% of the premades are trash and the other 10% are people farming solo q players or stronghold.

Look on the bright side, now people that actually suck can’t complain about premades stomping them

Hardened Leather Section

There’s more than enough leather in the game. Anet really can’t do much because a majority of leather mats are being hoarded up by players. If drop rates are increased, then there’s too much leather. There’s no reason to unload our stacks into the TP, because no one wants to be caught with their pants down should a new recipe requiring leather mats be released.

I have to wonder how they get this information from the data on their hands. Just because someone has X amount of T6 leather and isn’t selling any doesn’t mean they aren’t actively going to use it.

I feel like most of the playerbase falls into the category where they need say, 250 T6 leather but have 100-200 in the bank and don’t want to buy them at current prices instead opting to wait/farm for it. From ANet’s point of view they aren’t actively using the leather and are classed as hoarding but in fact they have a very real demand for the leather in the immediate near future but just not willing to purchase at this price point.

From my point of view there is so much demand for T6 leather in almost every area of the game the supply really doesn’t keep up with the demand even if ANet’s “data” says otherwise

Considering SC just did a 3 man VG you guys have no excuse for not being able to 10 man VG unless your game play is subpar which isn’t an ANet problem but a you problem.

If you want an easier VG just go do unbound guardian because quite frankly if you can’t even do the current VG then you’re just so bad you shouldn’t even be raiding.

Artificially close matches by putting bads with the not as bads isn’t really fun though. Sure the score might be close but when you’re killing people 1v2 and your team wipes 4v2 it doesn’t make for a fun game.

I’ve also seen so many games in unranked where one team definitely has no chance of winning because they get like 2 totally new players on their team and the other side doesn’t have any new players.

I guess a 350-500 (non legacy) match could’ve been turned around but there’s just so many games where it is legit a waste of everybody’s time.

I added a screenshot of my last 8 unranked games as a solo q player. Only 2 out of 8 were what you could say “close” (> 300 points), the rest were pretty lopsided (even the 200ish points ones) and there are even 2 games where we have less than 50 points. With a proper matchmaking system this really wouldn’t happen.

I mean only ANet has the data for that but I really don’t believe that the supply of coins/T6 leather outpaces the demand.

Demand is hard to measure, supply is easy. The problem with demand is that it shifts with price points and at the same time like I said before staggered demand over time is also a factor especially in MMOs like GW2.

With the likes of mystic coins maybe there are more coming in then being used because most players need 100 or 250 of them to do anything so while they’re waiting to accumulate it. Which means they “hoard” them for months until the login rewards manage to get them there.

I don’t think most people are against high value items bottoming out a bit (eg. let’s say T6 fine mats or ectos) because most players are on the “poorer” scale compared to the super rich (200k+).

The problem is when the average player needs so many mystic coins and T6 leather to do what they want to do and the prices are so high yet all the other stuff they farm (eg. AB) yields lower and lower gold every day.

In the case of T6 leather and Mystic Coins the demand outweighs the supply by far and it isn’t even due to speculators or “evil TP barons”. The fact is, ANet added far too many sinks but not enough supply or at least extremely inelastic supply (ie. I cannot go out and farm T6 leather reliably).

Their “data” might tell them that players are hoarding and not selling but have they thought about the fact that maybe the players actually need this material for their own use? Say a player has planned to make Eureka but only has 260 Mystic Coins so they have to either buy more or keep logging in for the next couple of months. They might decide not to buy (since they need money elsewhere) and the data looks like they’re hoarding 260 coins when in fact this is legitimate Mystic Coin demand.

Say right now I have 60 mystic coins, I have planned to make the legendary sword in the future so I am obviously not gonna sell the 60 I have. I feel like there’s a false assumption in that if players aren’t selling their loot and aren’t using it immediately they’re hoarding/creating false demand which is wrong.

Players don’t adhere to a fixed weekly participation, it is not something that you can analyze by simply looking at play hours.

Some weeks I might play 40 hours of WvW other weeks I play like 0. I’m not alone in this regard and would make balancing a nightmare.

Also just because I play a 4 hour stretch of WvW (due to the commander giving me fights) on Shard A doesn’t mean I’ll play 4 hours if the next link gives me a PPT Mander who I have 0 interest in following on Shard B.

Flax is hardly a good example. We needed thousands and thousands for the guild hall and other stuff like Oiled weapons for specialization collections.

People weren’t paying 3-4s because they thought it was worth that much, it was because you guys added so many sinks at once that even parking 20 characters are the flax nodes in VB wasn’t enough to grind for it (this was me at HoT launch, 30 characters at VB flax farm).

The only reason now it’s dropped below 3s is because most of us finished the sink and can sell our excess as well as the fact you guys added so much flax drops to the mobs in every map and even bloodstone fen has a few flax nodes.

Also the fact that you think Mystic Coins and T6 leather are similar enough to Flax for comparison really shocks me. Flax is highly farmable with plenty of nodes (TD/VB/Bloodstone Fen patches) yet the other 2 are relatively static in supply (low as well). There isn’t a reliable way to farm T6 leather unlike flax so it isn’t we believe T6 leather should be 25s each but rather we have no way to obtain the leather reliably ourselves outside of the TP.

Then take a look at mystic coins, get 20 a month and need 500 or more per legendary. Over 2 years of logging in 1 account and you wonder why nobody sells any?

There has always been a ‘best farm’ for years.

CoF1, Cursed Shore, QD/FG Champ Trains, Silverwastes, Dungeons, Fractal 40, Fractal 90 etc

The point is, if you’re trying to min max rewards every minute of game play you have then you’re going to have to forgo something because there’s always a best farm and not everything is rewarding in GW2 for the time spent.

Originally mostly for the achievements (finished my thief title with the new map, last one I needed so cbf now) and sorta the reward track since I hate doing any HoT metas I’d rather do the track and get stuff that way.

5.2k games played here and quite frankly matchmaking has never been worse.

In the old days when we had solo/team q, even as a solo player I’d get way better matches in both team and solo q than what I get now. The sheer amount of bad players in both ranked and unranked just puts me off from playing for ‘fun’.

Only time SW chest farm got nerfed was when there were like 20 chests spawning right outside Amber.

They nerfed it by reducing the chest amounts spawning there as well as crest drops from the chest so that it wasn’t self sustaining because people just ignored the entire map and chest farmed there.

Legendaries and expensive exotic weapons fluctuate a lot so hard to say what happens really but precursors have been trending down since AB Multiloot gives more rare to forge = more precursors.

I definitely feel that a lot of things are cheaper now unless they are specifically required for a new shiny (eg. elder wood for Eureka). This isn’t too bad since Gold feels like it’s worth more which helps people that get like 2g from dailies.

S1 had extra pips if you did well but still lost so every game was worth trying the very best. It was also the first season so plenty of people playing = matchmaking worked a bit better since the pool of people were larger.

S4 has nothing going for it, trash MM, long Qs etc.

I only win 1v2s vs really bad players.

Player of similar skill 1v2 I will always have to bail or lose.

Interesting that you say unranked is better than ranked yet for me I get 5 signet warriors, triple stance warriors and stuff like that in unranked but I never see anyone THAT bad in ranked.

My MMR definitely settled since I played for salty sea dog and eternal gladiator as well as additional games to finish off my thief title recently.

I don’t see unranked as quality gaming at all, it is just stomping noobs or be stomped because you have noobs.

After 4 seasons of PvP you hardly classify as a ‘new comer’ Ithilwen.
