It happens when the downed person lagged. Although, once you hit Ruby and Diamond, pretty much everyone in that bracket has a stable connection and you never see this happen.
Also, the “stuck bug” everyone refers to only happens when you jump and get stunned mid air typically. As soon as you stop spamming jumps like a mad man, the glitch never happens.
i’m in legend and this happens ALL the time
Had this happen last night in a legend match too. Forest, was at the mine and some necro downed his corpse was on point but on screen he was running into the wall lol.
I sympathize OP, I got to T5 diamond before losing it all due to “MMR hell” which was really just bad players trying to do their profession dailies. Had like 90% lose rate at some point.
Had to grind at it for a few days to get out of losing all my pips and back to T3-4 diamond before I started getting back on track to legend.
Those players I had were by far the worst out of the entire league, even worse than amber/emerald when I was moving up early in the season. Idk how they got to diamond or why the matchmaker puts me with them but yeah.
Division doesn’t really reflect skill all that well though, depending on what timezone you play you can have utterly trash diamond/legendary players and all you really do is beat them to move up.
I mean sure on average the higher the division you go, the better the player but it is not necessarily true that a legendary player is better than a ruby player at first glance and even in this system it is entirely possible to grind as an average MMR players to legend.
I had more difficult games in diamond than legend, most people in legend don’t care anymore and just muck around or do dailies.
I’d kill for a 50% win rate/close matchup like SC2 and other competitive games… those games that end with 500-10 doesn’t really help either side improve.
But espurts!
lol necrooms is from team pz, and Partime hero is Darress who was number 1 on the leader-boards when they were up.
So what you’re saying is, he could’ve won the match with an ele yes? /s
It’s not just this, legendaries tend to not try very hard because there’s no real reason to so it sucks when you have a diamond guy trying to push up with legend team mates who are just there for their dailies.
System overall just kinda stinks
But then you’d have bad d/f cleric eles going far on an enemy capped point doing 1v1s all game and being MVP since he never dies, heals a lot but overall really being a massive liability and overall useless.
They just need to fix the triple leap finisher and it’d be a bit more balanced, maybe.
You can say it’s your teams fault etc but after enough games it stops being that and the common denominator is you.
Not really true. Like in my legend games I can have a 90% lose rate and then later on an 8 game winstreak. Team mates matter a lot in pvp, even ESL players can lose games if they have a bad team.
This is what happens when they put MMR of similar people on the same side, even in legend I just get blowouts a fair bit.
2 of my last games out of 3 were totally uncompetitive lol
Just play necro and roll your face on the keyboard a bit for some free wins
Whirlpool usually spawn at the end of the first phase (before first battery) regardless of how well the damage is.
Generally near his foot somewhere
The only somewhat decent warrior I’ve seen was Jay Norio (I think). I don’t think that’s you though, probably never played with you.
Congrats
What? MMR is the ONLY indicator how good you are, regardless of division you end up in.
Hence why opponents should be based on mmr hence why there are so many lopsided uncompetitive matches right up to diamond.
Division and matches should both be based on MMR. The system itself is just uncompetitive when you can be beating over low MMR players to climb/streak to higher divisions.
When you have stuff like ‘good diamond players’ and ‘bad diamond players’, it totally devalues the system and ruins any ‘prestige’ anyway.
Its probably more to do with that theres absolutely nothing to do but raiding. So people are becoming less and less active.
Also so much easier to shard cap now with 2 wings there’s little incentive to rerun everything or anything unless my friends really need help so there feels like there’s less activity since it’s split over 2 wings and only once per week rather than the old spirit vale 2-3 reruns.
Yeah necro looks easy to play but good thieves/DHs and engineers can destroy bad necros. Having 3+ necros on a team isn’t really ideal at all, any decent opponent will counter it either with classes or rotations.
Hi,
We currently have 6-7 static raiders out of our original 10 and we’re looking for 3-4 people to fill the slots of people who left.
We’re looking for people with decent experience in Wing 1 (~45 min clears) and some experience in Wing 2.
Our raid times are usually right after raid reset (6:30pm Sydney OCX) with additional raids if necessary.
We require teamspeak and some minor flexibility in classes would be nice.
If interested please contact Frosty.5401
Wasn’t bugged when i did it. I finished all collection
Blackgate will start winning again once Muntedface makes Blackgate great again with his PPT skills.
It really depends on team comps and stuff to decide if thief or DH is better. Both can be useful but warrior is basically useless.
If it makes you feel any better I had a loss rate of 80% at one point (t5→t1 diamond) cuz I got so tilted by baddies and overall just played worse since I kept losing.
Take a few days break and come back, i started winning/doing better after a break. Never play more than 3 losses in a row too, it could be the other team is stronger or you just get queued with baddies, either way take a break and don’t tilt.
Yea a lot of people who aren’t very good made it to diamond which makes the entire experience frustrating. I feel your pain OP
If you’re stuck below ruby and think you’re above average just get a friend to ‘smurf’ you with an average MMR f2p amber account and get you out of the hell hole.
So i finally grinded my way out of diamond hell hole into legendary.
My experience was really terrible, I got to T5 diamond, fell to 0 pip, lost like 60 games with an odd win here and there and was basically in MMR hell hole. I got paired with stuff like thief x 3, mesmer x 4, warrior x 2 and just generally unplayable comps. It didn’t help I played weird timezones so the MMR bracket was probably huge. I was getting rubies and even at 0 pip one game I fought my friend who is in legend.
I know most people will say MMR or ELO-Hell isn’t real but the quality of players I was getting was really embarassing to say the least. Eventally I made a few friends and climbed out of the hell hole with duo queue. Got a lot better towards legendary, I could actually play around my team depending on comp because I know that they can actually do what their class requires them to do.
Many of my enemies (and sometimes team mates) throughout diamond do stupid things. Like ele solo push far on enemy capped point as a d/f cleric or druid who could sit on ledge and watch home/assist mid on legacy but decides to jump into the mid fight and loses home etc. People like this makes game so much harder than they have to be yet somehow they’re in diamond because reasons.
T7 diamond was kinda bad, I kept getting people in legendary that were just doing profession wins and mucking around. Unfortunate but whatever.
Anyway, this experience has been terrible in part due to the MMR system not really working very well at all imo.
ps. I also hate Java from PZ for stealing all mah pipz on an alt account

If you want this legendary armor then you have to raid to work for it.
There’s no easy mode PvP for the legendary backpiece, I don’t see why there should be an easy mode raid for the legendary armor.
Last night i was queuing (as a t5 diamond) and got 3 legend on my team + 1 on the other. I just don’t think there’s a lot of people who play at this range.
Over 450: 0
400 – 450: 2
300 – 400: 4
200 – 300: 1
100 – 200: 2
Less than 100: 0
My last 10 games. None were that close
I just lost my win streak cuz other side had team PZ again on alt accounts. Really frustrating and puts me off of PvP seeing all these legendary players trolling lower leagues to stroke their kitten.
They never announced it but I’ve been in matches with at least 35 pip difference during offhours.
I think it’s because the population is dropping for PvP so it has to pull further and further away for matches
2 of my latest 4 wins were like 500-42 and 610-120. Matchmaking is broken af in diamond and probably other areas too. There’s just way too many players with incorrect MMR in the wrong divisions, even in diamond I’ve seen signet of malice pistol whip thieves, p/p engies and other stupid stuff, they shouldn’t be in diamond at all.
Looks pretty dead to me, diamond NA prime PvP q = 5 min+ solo.
Tried to do vinetooth prime in OCX/SEA time, not even a map with commander tag or taxis. Had to wait till NA prime right after reset.
Maybe overall the game pop is fine but man if you don’t play NA prime (or EU prime for EU), good luck getting anything niche done.
League divisions should be based on prestige, only good players should make it to legend and this should entirely be based on MMR like SC2 or some other games.
However you also want it so there’s more people playing PvP so the legendary backpiece should be accessible to everyone who wants to farm for it. Simply taking out the division crossing in the league achievements would make it accessible to everyone. Also, the prevention of division/tier drops needs to be removed so that it is a truly competitive system.
This way, we have both a competitive and rewarding system for everyone. The elite players who want prestige can play to legendary and climb that ladder whereas the pve carebears who are only there for backpiece can grind it out in the lower tiers.
The matchmaking should of course also match your allies/enemies based on your MMR (which would be pip range in this new system).
The system right now is not prestigious nor accessible. People are frustrated with unwinnable or total stomp matches and there is no prestige since it doesn’t matter if you beat pleb team A or Abjured, you get 1-2 pips either way and MMR has nothing to do with pips/division/tier.
(edited by fishball.7204)
you can do ethical tanking by “disconnecting” so they lose nothing but you’d have dishonor which would make it take a lot longer
I got to diamond t5 pure solo q then i lost all my pip now back between t2-3.
Most of my pip losses are because people play their profession wins but not being good or like you said some low rank dude (who isn’t a good player on a second account) is in a premade on my side.
Occasionally of course I lost because I screw up but that’s like 2 games out of every 100 where I know for a fact I let my team down by doing something wrong. Most of the time, it is just decided right out the door who gets the win.
@darres
you can check here https://gw2efficiency.com/account/statistics
The current system could be tweaked to make it more bearable. For example, your team has the same MMR as now ok that’s fine but the opponent needs to be within a certain range of say, 30%+ chance to beat them.
500 points to sub 100 wins or losses should NOT happen, that is not fun for anyone and quite frankly having to queue up for 6-7 minutes for that is insulting.
Between this and fixing new player MMR as 0 rather than average would go a long way.
@ Evan Lesh
You are confusing elite with prestigious. The elite in this case being formed by pre made team groupies who are willing to stack specific classes and builds.
You are correct. Though I am curious to know what is bad about pre-made teams that perform well reaching the top of the ladder. When I play with friends, we perform no better than solos :P
Of course you do, which is why it’s unfair to the rest of us who solo q.
In season 1 every match was trying to be even, but this allowed players to grind through the ladder. Season 2 is the opposite of this, but players are clearly experiencing matches that are too volatile. Once players reach a division relative to their skill, the only blowout matches that should be happening would be from people coming late to the season. I feel there may be balance between the two styles of matchmaking that maintain prestige, but avoid an abundance of blowouts.
I just had a 500-5 game in diamond. You might say I’m just a really bad player but still this stuff shouldn’t be happening.
Waste of everybody’s time and unfun.
Heck I scored that 5 point cuz I killed someone.
+1 agreed.

What would make legendary players happy to keep playing the game? Is it just quicker queue times? What if you could do other things while waiting? What if there was something other than leagues all together like unranked arena that legendary players could go to until more players make it to legendary?
How about asking the question what would make all the ranked players happy to keep playing the game, cause right now I am disheartened and completely de-motivated by the system. Its making me hate spvp.
Why are you disheartened? Is it the inconsistency of match quality?
Yes, most matches are blowouts even in diamond division. I rarely get close matches.
^ this is me basically. 90% of the matches are decided after the first fight not because we give up but because it’s obvious which side has more better players.
I even lost a game 500-10 last night because team PZ’s Java was on an alt account which is kinda dumb and made it unfun for me.
If you check my matches from 2-3 days ago, you will see a lot of sub 100 point (my team) or sub 200 point (enemy team) to 500. It was unfun, and I probably stop playing PvP now since I got my legendary backpiece.
I’d kill for a 50% win rate/close matchup like SC2 and other competitive games… those games that end with 500-10 doesn’t really help either side improve.
1 pip from Diamond and I get this game….
What a joke.
Dw, making sure team PZ has fun trolling on their alt accounts is more important than the rest of us plebs getting fair matchmaking.
The MMR stuff is just broken beyond repair. Some games I beat the other side 500-100 then next game they’re on my team = insta lose.
Some games I get pros like team PZ on my team where I’m clearly a liability compared to them and other games I get kill shot warriors on my team who contribute nothing and lose us the match.
You can always go do what you enjoy and then buy the raids to get your legendary armor.
I don’t enjoy raids but I don’t see how killing off raids would make stuff I like doing any more fun. I’d rather they keep the 4 people working on raid on the actual raid than anything else.
Would love to have a bit more obvious notifications (eg. like sabetha’s red text time bomb) at Mathias for poison and stuff. It’s hard to see with effects everywhere.
I’m not. I have no idea how the MMR stuff works, sometimes I beat a 3 man premade easily 500-100 and then next game they’re on my team which means insta lose cuz they’re bad.
I’d rather have some semblance of fun matches rather than stuff that’s decided from the start. Very few of my wins are clutch wins, either landslide wins or losses even in diamond.
I don’t really care if people are better than me. Abjured/PZ etc are all better than me in pvp and SC/vC etc are better than me at pve.
All I’m saying is people wanted a division SKILL BASED system and this is what you get. There’s nobody up there because you’re skilled/dedicated and nobody else is there.
The only salty one is you. My Q times in diamond are just fine lmao.
Isn’t this what you guys wanted, the best being at the top? This is what you get.
