GW2 is only about dps. DPS is KING.

Speccing builds/gear sets out side this is infact discouraged and in many cases actually punished.

But that’s just how gw2 is designed so if you want more thoughtful gameplay, there is other mmos out there for this; you won’t be getting much that here lol. ZERG OR DIE!

Would it not be ok to just have a beta npc that is only visible to beta testers that provides free gear to test with that once purchased from vendor is bound/cannot be salvage/forged/what ever else is needed to make sure there isn’t ways to break the economy then maybe…let us keep loots/exp we get while testing? Tis cruel to mix ‘beta’ with live imo, real real cruel.

Also I feel extremely limited when it comes to testing the reverant….I have no access to the things I need to really see what the rev is capable of. But w/e, hope hot releases soon then we shall all have fun with broken/untested things that will be inevitably found after launch. ha. Btw, have not use MF at all….wasted 40+ hours testing rev this weekend for absolutely nothing; testers paid money to do this test btw…the new ugly trend in gaming.

I been using cleric gear with runes of dwayna on it (karma gear from orr)….moving tablet triggers the 6 set bonus which means that would effect other runes like this…the possibilities. But sadly there is no way to access what I need to properly optimize my rev healer to test better so I cannot really comment on the effectiveness of going pure healer quite yet. Darned beta limitations sucks for testing. Grr…

As to staff, I spend most the time just slamming skill 1 for the healing orbs it produces and end up just micro managing the tablet most the time. Staff: Skill 2 is totally worthless energy waster, skill 3 can be ok but it’s too long cd with too short duration imo, skill 4 is pure awesome <3, and skill 5 is only good as a movement spell. The latter also makes the rev the new knock back troll; rangers, you now have competition for h8.

I find that if you play as a healer rev, your game play is extremely narrow with little choices; hit 1 over and over for orbs/micro manage tablet/occasionaly hit skill 4 when its needed/off cd. I can’t switch legends either since that auto nukes the tablet…only reason I would switch is to use the elite skill and that’s it. Class lacks synergy and most importantly choices…other than traits, there is zero ways to customize the class and that sucks. Also being limited to only one weapon means I spam 1, a lot and that’s it. Yawn.

Other issues: being healer has same issues as my other healers…it is extremely hard to get credit for loots/events even though I am providing some serious support, no instead I am punished for it; pure dps gets all the glory. And one other thing that bugs me is a staff rev is a melee only with no range options at all which means…you can’t do 50% the content or more and that is bad…infact I dare call it game breaking.

Unlike others in this thread, I like how the tablet operates. It’s a lot of micro management but if you get used to it…it’s really fun to use even if it produces hyper weak heals; I do not want the tablet to auto follow.

However, I do fully support auto summon on switching to ventari though.

I can’t help to get this feeling while I test the reverant out in the world that I am nothing more than a visible advertisement to the masses to sell more delux/ultimate pre-orders to those who cannot make a rev…meh. It’s obvious the class is not even half finished….the lack of under water skills and missing legend(s?)/traits kinda suggests that.

And this is why I can’t be bothered to test…I will wait until HoT is released to play the rev again. If testing was done on seperate servers, then I would not mind but mixiing it up on live as essentially a walking advertisement for pre-orders is rather cruel imo. The rev is clearly unfinished and missing things…it’s in alpha state far as I am concerned so testing should be done on seperate servers until it is more complete. Anyways, I would 100% support having no ability to loot/progress/use mystic forge/etc with the rev during these tests; you can’t complain if it can’t happen in the first place. Right?

On my ele…I cycle all 4 elements/use skills within them constantly…love it. I love it so much she’s been my main since launch up until recently.

On my beta Rev…I camp in one Legend most the time.

At least in ele’s case every element swap gives unique weapon skills + they get to choose 3 util skills/1 elite from a list…not so with rev. Frankly, playing the class is dull and it has no way to customize it out side of traits which makes things even worse imo.

W/e. Class is now confirmed to be missing lots of stuff so all this is pointless…have to wait until it’s nearer to completion and not half done like it is right now I guess.

Now that I read that rev is missing two legends and what ever else…what is the point of the beta? Is this just a PR stunt perhaps or to sell more delux/ultimate pre-orders? idk!

W/e. I have many issues but biggest on is…I really hope in the future we can choose ulility skils like….every single other class in the game. Rev is now first one with zero choice in utilities/elite at all which results in a class that has no choice what so ever; it’s all pre-determined and players have no control other than traits to customize it. This really bugs me.

I worry that some lottery item (like a pre-cur) will drop while testing the rev so I really can’t be bothered playing it. It’s kinda cruel mixing the test up with the live game and not letting you keep the loots/karma/exp gained while playing. It’s unrewarding. Maybe it’s just me.

At very least give us more skill options…I mean like being able to spec a tablet for the other legendaries. There is no choice here in skill selection at all and that makes rev the only class in the game like that which is strange. I will take anything at this point, current status of rev is very under whelming.

Maybe to extreme but w/e…just some thoughts.

Each legend has it’s own tablet. On a legend swap if a tablet is out, it auto switches to the new legend tablet. Then make each one function similiar to ventari.

ie. Demon tablet that focuses on conditions/Dwarven tablet that focuses on defense/Ventari tablet that focuses on healing.

Then move/re-design demon/dwarven skills to these tablets

Basically movable condi/defense/heal batteries…

Downside: doing this could mean way to much micro management and I know many might not like that.

Weapon swap; not sure this will happen, maybe…it would be nice. My other thought is to have it similar to elementalists and elements.

ie. Ventari has unique weapon skills based on healing using a staff/demon has unique skills based on condi using a staff/dwarven has unique weapon skills based on defense using a staff.

Then do this with the other weapon sets….

Obviously these suggestions would require a hefty rewrite (not going to happen) and probably over powered to boot but one can hope for more variety/choice for the rev class in the future. Rev feels unfinished and incomplete for sure, the lack of underwater skills is a good indicator of that. lol.

After more play….I like the class. It has potential. But atm I feel it’s unfinished…it’s missing things (and buffs) to make it stand out. Some proof is there does not seem to be any underwater skills at all atm lol.

Anyways, biggest problem I have is there is no real way to customize the class skill wise which makes game play feel really limited.

If weapon swap is not possible then I would suggest using the elementalist model; each legend/weapon should have their own unique weapon skills depending on what you are using…if that makes sense.

Give rev some vareity in game play please and or more choices to customize the class since there really is none other than traits; no other class is like that…they all can choose from many skills. :S

Tablet: I like this a lot but I have many issues with it. It’s slow, the heals are really weak (even specced as much heal as I can), the heal range is way to small, and other than healing/cleansing it has no other real use. To make this thing work well, you really must micro manage it but the result is rather lackluster for the effort required. It would be nice to have the tablet the ability to produce boons of some type…either traited or skill, what ever. Also suggest either decreasing the size of the tablet or come up with another graphic that is less/bright or annoying. People actually run away from it! An increase of radius of effect would be welcome.

Staff: skill 2 feels like a wasted button press, not sure what to suggest other than give intial strike an interrupt or something like that. skill 3 needs shorter cd or longer duration. skill 4 needs to add another effect (stam regen?). skill 5 needs to have shorter cd and or add swiftness at the end. Either or might help make this turtle slow of a class more mobile.

Like to mention for testers who have not made rev yet…do not. Make sure to put runes/sigils you might use into the bank before creating your first one since the boxes that give stuff is missing many that i personally would find more useful than what is offered in these. ie. there is no +10 heal on kill weapon sigil which is a huge +heal buff. I tried deleting my first rev and put these things into bank but sadly it saves whatever is in there on first creation and cannot be altered after.

Really boring

No weapon swap is just snooze worthy gameplay; I rarely ever use more than 6 skills in combat with this class. Other weapon swap classes get upwards of 40 (ele)! Not so with rev. And then there is the right bar skills, there is zero choice at all…really? And then there is the traits…not much choice there either. So in end this is a low dps class with low support potential; they won’t save no one who is getting bursted + no boons which is crucial for support builds + little choice in skills/traits. It’s dull and not even that effective.

I played my cleric/healer ele exlcusively since launch up until recent…always have issues with getting tags in pve so I went thief beserker and bam, loots and exp every where. Same thing in WvW, support does not do enough dps to get tags. So with rev which has even lower dps but much better support…it’s even worse which is lame. It would be real nice if support was not so punished. It might surprise you that some us like to play support but really can’t justify it cus dps gets all the glory, loots, and exp while support player gets diddly sqaut. Under assumption reason why anet does this is cus of afkers and bots; legit players get hosed I guess.

Another thought…I think the whole tagging system really needs a change…if you do play support including other classes…it is very very difficult to get tags for events/mob kills b/c it’s entirely reliant on damage; support builds with support gear is incapable of getting the damage needed to get rewards…it’s one my major beefs with this game since launch. That needs to be changed if they really want people to play support…it’s one main reasons why most go zerker just to get exp/loots.

Went full clerics and the healing potential is pretty good imo. Only issues I have with the class is the lack of choices when it comes to skills, unlike all the rest of the classes you have none what so ever. That…is pretty disappointing. And then there’s the damage…it’s really low but I guess that makes sense since this class is by far the best group healer in game. I went to SW and stood in line of multiple tegraiffs that charged me over and over…I was able to out heal it lol; any other class I use would not survive that in this circumstance. Also practiced group healing and it’s pretty good, way better than my healer ele…is it like adding a true healer in game? Nah, but it’s ok I guess. Also it’s not a very mobile class and slow. Hum.

Anyways, I think I will def make a healer version in live. Atm I can’t be bothered to test much b/c you keep absoulutely nothing for drops, exp, etc and thus it’s just pointless to play imo. If there was an incentive to test I would do it all weekend but by looks of things there is none so back to farming on my live chars instead…..I shall wait for hot to truely dive into rev.

Last thought….I really really think this class would be much better with a weapon swap instead of just one; there really isn’t much complexity to it at all.

I am averaging 1 ecto per 4 salvages…just dinged 9 and didn’t get a single one. People say it’s impossible yet it happens to me consitantly so why so bad luck on the salvages yet it don’t effect other people in this thread?

It’s called…pay 20 bucks to move like I had to. They really love to milk them forced server changes if you want to play in WvW that isn’t dead. Be thankful OP that you are actually on a good WvW server and not on a dead one like my original server I been on for three years; it was once in top 3 until everyone left to join the opposing teams BG/JQ after a few losses and now its at the bottom with barely anyone playing.

It’s all in the probability. The odds of someone getting that many in such a short time is the same for everyone. Just because I flip a coin and get heads 100 times in a row doesn’t mean that I’m inherently lucky.

If heads was win and tails was lose then I have flipped that kitten ed coin millions of times without seeing heads. If this is probability, would it not have landed on heads at least ONCE out of all those tries? My coin is broken I guess, it has tails on both sides.

Then explain why I know people with under 1k hours who have found 5+ of these things from world drops. Great loot is literally thrown at these people constantly while others get kitten all. .

Btw, i did that karka event too way back and…never got a leg there either before it was nerfed. There is more to this than just luck cus some people have it in spades while many have zero, like me.

This game is DPS centric, it took me 3 years of playing my healer ele to finally figure this out. Healing is junk and has been nerfed multiple times I believe. I mean I run around with over 2k healing power and it heals people for next to nothing. It’s better to go full dps and res the dead later. And this is why this game will never ever be as popular as the trinity MMOs; it’s a brainless zergfest most the time and DPS rules all.

Same…there is some accounts that are lucky, some that is not. I mean I have found one exotic in 2 months of grinding all bosses + SW every day. RNG hates me, infact I believe my account is incapable of getting a precursor…it is impossible to drop. Ha.

On the plus side, you can buy gems…sell them for gold…and get all the precursors you want for 1/100th the time! Yea, I don’t do that but I know for sure many many others do. This game is designed to be a grind with super low drop rates thus you gotta spend lots of RL money…it’s the business model so it’s expected.

W/e. You can make all the ascended weapons you need for most of your chars and save 2k+ gold. Legendaries are so common on other players it’s not unique no more, many used a CC to buy them heh so it’s nothing to really brag about lol.

This really is not that true. It took me 50 minutes of begging chat for 4 more people to help with defense. In the end, it was just me and three others.

Regardless, nothing like spending over an hour of begging and pleading to set up a rudimentry defense only to get a sunless rune. In that same time I can go to SW and get 4x the gold or more. I guess it’s time to nerf SW!

Add 2-5 minutes to the encounter timer is another option imo, the current amount with the large increase in teq hps is not right. Anyways, glad a big organized guild such as yours has no issues and really you should not.

For what it’s worth, I just salvaged 19 rares and got 27 ecto. (Which proves nothing, except that my drop rate for a short period was outstanding and that I am expecting a long bleak streak to match it.)

You are one those lucky few. Be greatful for that imo.

I joined map 1 hour before start today….there was organization as well…it still failed.

So 2 kills after 2-3 attempts per day since patch.

It’s called, get lucky and try to mooch a kill from pre-made guild groups I guess.

I use mystic forge kit, I will never use black lions on these since that is like lighting money on fire. I just salvaged 100 rare items I had chucked into my personal banks from the past few weeks and end result was only 38 ectos. If I sold that 100 items on the TP then I would have made way more money is all I am saying.

People have stated that it’s a .8 or some thing rate to get ectos from salvage but since patch I estimate it’s far less than that. Just salvaged 100 rares and got 38 ectos. I lost a lot of money, should have just posted on the TP.

RNG is RNG? Idk about that, feels nerfed. But I wouldn’t discount my absurb bad luck in this game though, it’s bad…reeeal bad lol so who knows.

You may have not found a precursor but on other hand you are lucky to find items worth that much to sell, after three years my the most expensive item I have ever sold was an exotic beserker ring I found a few weeks ago…I made 13g. 3 years and biggest item I have sold is 13g lol. Also, playing the auction house is not my idea of fun…I rather kill stuff and play the game to get nice things. Weird, I know.

The ones rewarded are the ones who play regularly and consistently. This is the way it should be.

Agree but this hasn’t happend to me thus I kinda feel all this work is like working for sweat shop wages. :\

W/e. As said, some accounts got the luck and others do not. People say RNG is RNG but in my case it really feels like it was pre-determined the moment I made the account on launch day….

Some accounts are lucky…some are not. In my case, that would be a not; no matter how long or much I play gw2 I will never see a ‘lottery’ item drop; it hasn’t happened in 3 years so it won’t happen ever. And when I mean ‘lottery’ item, I really mean anything I can sell for over 10 gold…every thing I have earned in this game is from grinding and selling items that are worth pennies. Thank goodness for craftable ascended item though.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that bad but it just gets rather….depressing to know a good thing will never drop for me in this game. Never seen a precur drop after three years. Sigh.

Always hated under water combat and avoid it at all costs. You are so limited in skill choices and many classes are really boring to play in it. Also it’s really hard to judge distances so it just isn’t very fun to me. Land combat >>>>> underwater imo.

Many things that annoy NEW players in this game that vets will never see unless they get another, fresh account. Many things you have to unlock now (this is account wide unlocks btw); if you already have a higher level character, you will never come across frustrating things. Like say being able to mail, use the TP, accessing bank, ability to enter pvp, etc. It is ANNOYING. All these things were not there when most of us started to play and now they are. Lastly, hearts just well…suck. This is one the few games I really really dislike leveling up new chars. And again, if you are a vet you will more than likely have lots of level up tomes to instantly make a new char 80…a new player has to slog through all this boring heart content that has had experience and gold nerfs..

Why? Because you collect more than 150-200 of the T6 mats a day? Or do you just want to drain your backlog of unused T6 mats so you can reclaim your Bank or Loot Character slots?

I would prefer the those ascended mats got moved to the currency page…I have 3 alts filled with this junk that I would like to play. If I had the mats/gold I would finish off last three craft proffs, use mats for 450-475, and then nuke it all but that’s not going to happen any time soon. Rest in pepperoni 3x char slots.

In the end I feel the 100% buff is way to much and it should be more around 50% instead. If you want to make it harder, start adding new mechanics rather than simply adding zeros and calling it a day imo.

SW is too easy as well. I would love for Anet to bring back Marionette. Vinewrath is a pale imitation of that fight.

Before the patch, I often seen SW failed. Now it never fails.

And the reason why? Because of the dps increase to all classes. Heck, I gained 30% or more in that patch so you add in everyone else…and now SW is super easy. No one should be surprised about this imo.

So it’s either nerf people or buff the events….but not simply just add more zeros like they did with teq.

2 lvl 80 eles because i did world completion on first one and decided to make another to do that all again but with a different route in the personal story.

1 lvl 80 thief b/c she is super good at getting tags for events where my ‘support’ eles always had troubles with since neither do much burst dps that is required to get credit/loots.

And then rest are all low level alts. I plan to play them one day however they are all filled with the ascended mats (blood stone/dragonite/emp frags) which I plan to eventually use to level up the rest of the crafting proffs since it is the cheapest way to go 450-475.

Really really REALLY wish those three materials get moved to the currency page. This is clogging up my alt’s inventories big time so I can’t play them. At least bandit thingies got moved, that freed up a bit of space though.

So where does this skin come from? PvP maybe?

Wiki says this comes from AP chests but 5.5k later I have never seen it as a choice. The next boxes that have the zenith skins in them do not have the pistol listed either. I have wanted this skin for a long time and have had to choose other things instead so far. :S

How am i fighting against that.

I said I am all for them adding harder content.

But I also want to say that you do not want to leave the less than hardcores behind.

Adding super hard content leads to people wanting better/exlusive items and going that route opens up a whole lotta problems if done poorly.

I am over 40…not really a kid….but I prefer games like GW2 now…it’s accessible…I can get top gear and not have to raid or join some giagantic guild that is merely just vehicle to loots…no I can do it alone or with complete strangers here…that’s just…awesome?

I do agree that there should be difficult content for the hardcores but on other hand cutting out the casual market is a bad idea and has killed more mmos than I care to list.

Yea, killed teq only 2x since patch. In both cases it was because of gaurdian bug. Just tried to do teq tonight after they disabled that skill…there was an insane amount of gaurds there and end result was…a total fail. HP bar barely moved.

Well if this is working as intended, there is no reason to do teq no more; I got far better things to do than be frustrated like this.

Elitists want their exclusive content and now they got it. Have fun without the gaurd bug though! Oh and enjoy that spoon or vendor fodder rune for all that effort…so worth it!
