Wow, all you people complaining about the mats needed to craft precursors. Do you have any idea what’s needed to make a legendary?
Going by the current prices, it’s cheaper to buy the pre-cursor straight up from the TP and save 400+ gold than do this legendary journey. Then some say, well just collect mats and it’s free! But it’s not, if you sell those mats and use proceeds to buy a pre-cur…again you will be saving 400+ gold. So what’s the point I wonder?

At least before HoT I’d get some nice buffs for the effort but now those are gone. Basically, my worth as a guildy is now based on how much gold/mats I donate; is this the new measuring stick to judge who is a good guildy and who is not? Apparently…

Before HoT, I could just play doing whatever I want and still advance the guild b/c I could help earn influence just by playing. Now, guilds are a major money pit where leaders/officers are constantly shamming/begging us to pay up. I prefer the old way, since I can contribute by just playing and not how much money I spend. Seemingly many guilds have their own little internal gang where new members are not welcome, I begin to question why I even bother with one now….
Uh diminishing returns kills loot farming, at least in one particular zone until you move; basically loots will come fast and be plentiful until DR kicks in where item drops dry up completely. Only way to get around that is to spend around 1 hour in another zone then go back after so I do not buy that excuse about not allowing HoT event mobs to reward loot due to ‘farming issues’ at all. I think their real goal is to lower gold/item gains to boost TP prices/gem sales and it seems to be working.

Was running acro/cc/dd with staff/sb with mix of maruaders/serker/scrapper runes and it was ok. But then I swapped acro for trickery and my DPS literally doubled due to one single trait with no noticable difference in survivability/stam regen. Acro line needs a complete rework imo, it’s totally worthless in PvE imo.
HoT maps are so unrewarding to play it’s depressing. Only way I make money there is from flax nodes but price in those are dropping every day so that won’t be good for very much longer. Past VB, most these events don’t give loot, exp, or good rewards at all. It kinda sucks.
Ya, I can go do an entire DS event, get 1/100th a level and around a golds worth of sellables for 2 hours or more worth of effort. Suffice to say, I don’t do DS no more.
Heck, I am back to farming cursed shore for money….I had thought I was done with that place years ago but apparently not. Guess they better nerf CS then!
I can play games for fun, sure but in the end GW2 is based around LOOT and the aquistion of GOLD to get nice things. There is no deep Bioware story telling here, it’s all bland and boring compared. So that leaves wanting me to get constant zaps to the brain when loot drops, that carrot on the stick I suppose to keep me going but currently HoT is not doing that for me. I can make more gold per hour farming newbie zones than HoT. Yay?

Here’s how to exp in HoT and it’s quite simple….
Buy heroic boosters.
They have lowered exp rates to minuscule rates in order to ‘encourage’ you to buy the super powerful heroic boosters and that is clear.
Case in point, unboosted I did 4x day/night cycles + an entire DS event to conclusion last night and that yeilded me 10% of a MR level. If I had used boosters I would have gotten an entire MR level. I know this since I have been using some boosters I had saved for a rainy day up until I ran out; the difference is really noticable unboosted/vs boosted.

GW2 direction is towards the true F2P business model with game systems heavily designed around the CS to make people get frustrated enough to pay up. And what is sad, it seems to be working. I fully expect them to nerf loot drop rates across the board to get players to buy the loot boosters in the near future as well.

Just wait, I expect raids will require participants to have most HoT specific MRs at max.
ie. ley line gliding.
Also expect raid leaders to only invite people who have combat boosters and revive orbs…fun (and expensive) times ahead!
My birthday buff and heroic boosters ended last night and…instead of 5k exp per monsters…it’s down to 250 per. Subsequently, my exp rates tanked when those ended so now MR gains is super low….so low it makes me feel like I am playing the usual korean f2p MMO; these are usually designed in such a way with low exp/loots to frustrate you enough to pay up for boosters.
This game is looking like a korean f2p mmo more and more but I guess that is the direction they are going. I expect them to nerf loot rates to push item boosts in the near future. After that, maybe they will also introduce a monthly ‘premium’ service as well. In the past, I have never felt the need to use boosts but now they are almost mandatory to get anywhere since those give 10x the exp as unboosted…I for one am not pleased.

Been having that oom error, I have tried many things to try to stem it and I have had the most success leaving everything at high but lowering textures to medium. This has allowed me to play all night in VB and AB events without a crash. It seems to me that there is something going wrong with textures that is causing this. Maybe I was lucky though but this seems to have worked. My machine should be able to run high no problem so I hope they fix this so I can run on high again so the world does not look like a game made 15 years ago.
I 500% agree with this thread. As much as I was impressed by the actual skills for the Daredevil, the animations left me feeling rather disappointed (not just the battle stance). I was watching the POI with my brother and as they were showcasing each skill we both kept thinking, “Really? They just recycled the hammer animation?” Actually, we were thinking that from the moment we saw that their battle stance used the hammer animation. I mean really, who the hell holds a bo staff like that? It hardly looks like the thief character even knows how to wield one, like they just kinda picked up a stick off the ground and are thinking, “Ima beat some fools with this thing!” Funny, but not very cool. In fact, isn’t that the animation when you actually pick up a stick or a shovel off of the ground (which is just the hammer anim anyway)?
Of course, this doesn’t diffuse my hype for this elite spec. It still looks like it’ll be very fun to use and I’m still very excited to see how it plays. And some of the anims do look cool, like the vault skill (although I wish the leaping dodge trait didn’t just recycle the vault skill, at least that’s what it looks like). But at the same time, I wish they put a bit more effort into making it look unique, you know?
So maybe we can help give Anet some ideas for what a bo staff stance ACTUALLY looks like…
This is how a bo stance should look like, not recycled hammer stance animation which frankly looks bizzare. The monkey stance thing would be better too. But I kinda doubt they will do anything since that will cost time and resources which simply is not going to happen I guess. :\
In the odd times it does not CTD outright, heavy artifacting, menus losing text, cannot see my chat messages, loss of sound, and people including my char panel become blue/texture blobs is a precursor to a crash; game then lags moments later, and boom CTD.
I had my machine checked out today by the shop I got it from and they stated nothing is wrong; one them plays gw2 and he is being effected by this too, also said he has had many people like me come by to have their machines checked out as well. All three techs stated that this is likely an issue on Anets end and not mine.
It does not matter what settings I use, the game is simply going to crash eventually no matter where I am. HoT maps and LA seems to be the places I get the most crashes though, any where there is a lot of people it seems. When I play in areas that do not have a lot of people, I can some times go up to 3 hours before it CTDs. Usually it’s 9-60 mins though.

I am under the impression my system surpasses the recommended hardware requirements and indeed it runs games that are far more demanding than GW2 on high settings with no issues. I can play tera, wildstar, wow, battlefield 4, gta V, warframe, d3, heart of the storm, hearthstone, etc just to name a few for 10+ hours without a single crash; it’s only gw2 that is doing this. So what’s the deal?
I have tried fixing client, using old/new drivers, lower graphics to potatoe levels, a reinstall, and other things to no avail; this game just likes to CTD. I am no computer expert but this looks like a serious mem leak, one that’s been around for a while for me and HoT has made it even worse. I am having zero issues with other games so it can’t be broken hardware? Please look into this, I have sent in a lot of error reports and even more to come.

I can predict when I’m about to crash. First my glider disappears while flying. Then everyone turns into blue/green no texture people. (Starts with a few, then everyone) After that my game crashes. Either to error report, or just freezes and I have to restart my computer.

How about crashing right at 0% and coming back to a dead instance then getting that message on a re-log. 2 hours of work for nothing. Might add at least 20 other people had the same thing happen to them so it’s not just me. This is not just DS, no this happens anywhere now. GW2 is simply not stable, it will crash. I have sent in a whole lot of crash reports now, over a years worth but I guess they can’t/won’t fix it so I am out of luck. Yay!

Getting to point to giving up. Just now I was in DS and we had boss 0% then bam I get OOM error for the millionth time. So relog, relog into a dead instance ofc b/c mega server INSTANTLY fills that spot I vacated due to that crash. I had also crashed 3x leading up to that point but I was lucky enough to get back in but not at the end.
So I try to rejoin players in my group in that instance and now it’s full. Then after a bit it tells me network error. No one that crashed could get back in either. 2 hours of work, gone. I get no loots, no exp, no end reward, no nothing.
Anet, your client is not STABLE. I have dozens of games that never crash like this, it’s only GW2. So please stop saying it’s our fault and just have a look into this, thanks.
Oh and please put in a grace period, I mean I relogged in less than 30 seconds yet it dumps me into another, dead instance and not the one I was in. I was in there for 2 hours so I should be able to get back in right?
Btw, I had purposefulley lowered my graphics to potatoe levels which I shouldn’t have to I might add and it still crashed. This has nothing to do with what settings I have, potatoe or high it does not matter; crash wars will crash no matter what. In HoT, in LA, in another map…it crashes. I had this issue for over a year now, but it’s even worse in HoT.
Lastly, this is not just me…at least 20 other people had the exact same thing happen to them at the same time as me; we all got CTD and relog into the same dead instance so this is not just a couple people that it’s happening too.

I been crashing regularly for over a year after a certain amount of time, usually it’s around 60 minutes; I have been sending in these reports for a VERY long time and nothing has been done. So now HoT comes and I am crashing even more. Under impression these bug reports I send get instantly shredded.
And btw, this is only game I have out of the dozen that is on my machine that crashes; it’s only gw2 that does this. Heck, I left warframe up for 3 days straight and only reason I was kicked was b/c they issued an update. This holds true to 5x blizz games, gta V, borederlands, couple asian f2p mmos, and couple others. So why is this game always crashing? Obviously they won’t be fixing this so I will have to suffer or…just not bother at all. Now starting to lean to the latter; nothing like spending 3 hours in DS and crashing 4x right at the worst possible moments. There is only so much this I can take. God, now I know why blizz is my fav dev…their games don’t friggin out right CTD all the time.
Yea, bored already. I have all three maps unlocked and more or less explored now and franky I don’t want to go back so now I am farming in cursed shore yet again…content I have done 1000s of times before. The new HoT maps is just a glorified jump puzzle with grind walls along with really crappy rewards. Other than elites there isn’t much to this expansion at all that I find interesting. The handful of really ugly as sin armor skins you can get for free playing the game are certainly not some thing I will be working for. Amusingly, the good weapon/armor skins seem to be popping up exclusively in only the CS. Coincidence? I think not.
I miss the days when expansions were really expansions like TBC, WotLK, or heck MoP. At least those had a lots of things to do and kept me going for years unlike HoT which is less than a week. This most certainly feels like a DLC labeled an ‘expansion’. But w/e, each their own opinion on that.

Ah now I understand, thought I had used one those 50%/kill streak boosters but apparently not. It does not matter where you go, with these boosts MR will fly super fast. 700 exp per mob to up to 5k was an eye opener. Thought CS boosts were not supposed to be so strong but apparently that’s changed. I apologize. Don’t nerf nothing. wink

Must be missing something, I been running CS for 2 days now and gained 2 levels total. Conversely, many guildies have capped MR in less than 8 hours in CoF. Thing about CS is that DR for loots/exp kicks in rather quickly so I cannot simply farm there forever, I have to move to a new map every 30-60 mins or exp/loots dries up. I am going to assume you spent most your time in CoF then.
Don’t think it is intended to be able to kill infinitely re-spawning mobs this way. I mean you go to any world event and when these end, so do the spawning of mobs thus I have to go searching around for the next chain. Also the exp in the world over all has been nerfed it seems too. I am sure they will fix this eventually but only when booster sales start to drop off since they are more than likely raking in the cash from those now.
So if CoF is intended, I request that world exp from mobs/events have the exp gains increased to match so we have more options b/c currently doing world things gives pathetic exp compared. Fair is fair!

While wiki does have some good info, I find it’s usually outdated and no I am not going to update b/c I go there to find answers to questions yet I rarely get it there…just like these forums, I go to look at “post your build threads” and most them are 2 years old. It seems only the good info sources that are updated is places that have nothing to do with Anet at all.

Great. I am now regretting ponying up 140 bucks for this expansion to find that out.
W/e. I did dragons stand 2x yesterday with my birthday booster and got a whole 1/2 a level for that 4 hours of work. I tagged every mob I could and worked my butt off. So there has to be more to this than you are suggesting. That’s ok, people will figure out this loop hole out and spread it to the masses eventually so you can keep your little secret for now.

I have 88 mastery points in HOT alone and have not touched core tyria. it is not that hard and it is not 90 Milion its about 49 million. Just do the events and kill stuff, you know play the game. The exp comes easy enough its the mastery points that hurt, would be done by now but need 23 more to finish HoT mastery tracks.
Ok, what is this trick you are doing to get 88 mastery in HoT; I chained events there, did as many as I could but that gave me only 1 level after 6 hours. So care to share how you did this, I don’t believe you just ran around and casually did events to get that many. I am going to assume you found an over sight like CoF infinite mob farming to get that much.
Still crashing and almost at wits end. If there was a GRACE PERIOD of around 5 minutes to get back into the instance I was in, I would not be so upset. But as of such, the moment I crash my spot is instantly filled by a new player. Thanks mega server! This needs to be changed imo. Blizz did some thing similiar; they allow you around 5-10 mins or so to relog to client and get immedietly back in without having to wait in line again. I’d like to see some thing similiar done here.
Also be nice if they fixed these darned OOM problems but I doubt they will, it seems to be a feature with GW2 to crash. Heck I watch that Wooden Potatoe dude and he crashed right at the end of an important event too so I guess it’s not just me getting affected by this. :S

I like the wiggle but it does have problems, like time I dashed on a narrow ledge and promptly fell off because of that wiggle. Note to self, avoid dashing near cliffs.
Decided to take the plunge and went 6 piece new marauders with scrapper runes, zerker weapons/jewelery, and specced DD/crit/acro lines last nigh since I was getting tired of getting instantly killed in HoT pve. I use staff and p/p now and it’s done wonders with my surviability without effecting my damage all that much. Really glad I did this. Perma swiftness, dodges for days, better healing, ok dps, and better survivability makes the new zones much more managable now for me. Just a thought.

The last concern I really have is to put in a grace period for anyone d/c and or crashed of around 3 minutes so players can get back into the zone instance they were previously in.
Like last night, where I managed to play most of a 2 hour event, right at the end when the boss was going to die I crashed, re-logged in less than a minute, and was placed in an entirely new instance; I lost all progress and rewards. 2 hours gone b/c of something I had no control over. This happens on a regular basis and is really frustrating me.
Even in a group I stand to not get back into the original instance since the mega server instantly fills my spot the moment I crash.
This issue has been here ever since mega servers was introduced so I beg you to consider putting in a re-log grace period so players effected by a d/c and or crash are not so punished. Thank you.

I just want my dang elite fully unlocks and I will never go to that jungle ever again. It’s an awful place that is no fun at all; you will not be changing my mind OP. I thought WoD was bad, but this really takes the cake.
Anyways, back to collecting old world HPs instead since I will not be getting the rest in HoT zones any time soon; many are gated behind needing lvl 5 in some masteries. That’s absurb holding elites ransom like that. I can’t name any other MMO that does this other than really bad f2p korean grinders.

Thief bug with DD dodge roll modifications in old world: I lose all visual functionality any of the three dodges while in the old world. It turns into the un-traited dodge roll animation yet retains some of the effects of the trait used.
Reproduction: it just happens almost immedietly for no reason.
Notes: This is only happens in old world, it has not done this in HoT maps.
Work around: select another dodge trait in DD, dodge once, and then pick the one you orginally picked. This only works for a few moments and then it’s back to having no dodge trait animations from DD.
Ugh, having to use SB most the time now since going melee in PvE on HoT maps is a super bad idea. Once I cap HP on my thief, I am going back to my ele instead since going ranged seems like the best bet over all; I really don’t enjoy being forced to use SB all the time since going in close to player buffed mobs results in inevitable deaths.
My problem is pure survivability. Most non-trash mobs are 100% resistant to blinds/fumbles so that means I can’t get defense that way + there isn’t much in the way to clear dots + none of my heal traits/abilities are good enough to with stand the damage HoT mobs can dish out in the blink of an eye.
Conversely, I watch necros/gaurds/wars/revs tank the same stuff that owns me like it’s easy mode and even out heal/mitigate the dmg they recieve while in melee unlike my thief. Sigh. I have tried many stat combos and nothing is really working; once my 3-4 dodges are done, so am I.

They really need to but in a 2-5 minute grace period for players who get kicked by crashes and or d/cs. This issue has been annoying me since mega server was first introduced. I can’t get any events done b/c when I inevitably crash, relog, and then when I come back I get placed in a dead instance and not the original one I was in…thus all progression lost; this is happening on a regular basis now.

Here’s how I did this quest after 3+ hours of soloing/2 hours in a group with it bugging out at different stages constantly:
1) Get a group, this will make the fight much quicker to do and reset if things go wrong which at this point very likely
2) Pick Canach/norn dude to go into dream since it seems caithe bugs this encounter out more frequently than the others.
3) Slow dps once you hit the different stages and let the NPC role play before dpsing again; dpsing to quick always bugs this encounter out
4) When it comes to glider phase, pick the air vent things to the west; I have had better luck with these actually working on that side than the rest.
5) Make sure who ever is the host of the instance does not die, they are the only ones able to finish the boss at the end.
6) If any attempt breaks at any point, exit it immedietly and try again b/c any attempts after it initially bugs out; it will bug out even more. Usually it will place the portals you need to click on invisible terrain that you cannot get to since there is no floor so you will fall + boss will probably have all abilities next time you try.
This quest is hyper buggy and I am not looking forward to doing this on my alts.

I have win 7 64 bit and I crash every 30-120 minutes randomly with OOM errors, I have sent in a ton of reports on this already. I lowered settings to potatoe levels and it still happens. I have tried old and new vid drivers; still the problem persists. Due to there being no grace period I can’t even complete these 1-2 hour events since once I come back from these crashes…I get put into another instance. I am getting really frustrated!
No other game is doing this, I left d3 and warframe up (8 hours or so) when I went to sleep last night to see if maybe they crash too; no issue, both these clients were up and running + played fine. It’s just GW2 that’s doing this since HoT release.
Like to mention while my computer is not top the line, it is not a potatoe and surpasses the min requirements by quite a bit. I can play games like GTA V with setting on high with solid 60 fps, a game that has much higher requirements.
I am at a loss how to correct this. I do notice other people’s crash log is very similiar to mine. Most notably Light Bolts and Boworange, what ever they are is in most these reports similiar to mine. Also noticed a couple crash reports by players here have same card as me; gtx 660 ti.

That hearts and mind mission is super buggy, I have now spent over 2 hours trying to complete it. Every single time that portal I am supposed to click gets placed in the middle of the air on a side and cannot be touched because there is nothing to stand on. Also many attempts now I try to redo it while it’s partially done and get insta gibbed by the boss before I even load in. Also those rocks are heat seeking missles, there is no way to avoid them…only tank them and pray. The one time I got past that, good old portal was placed in the air again making it impossible to interact with.
Lastly, this is related to the vast amount of crashes that kicks me out and when I come in I am placed in empty map instead of the one I was in; I request, no infact I beg you to put in a grace timer of a few minutes so I can get back in. It’s annoying to spend over an hour, crash, then lose all that progress when I come back from the 100th OOM crash. If you are not going to look into that bug at all, at least put in a grace time so I can reenter the instance I was originally in please. Thanks. :S

I been using dare devil and…dying a lot if I use that staff. No instead I am using short bow and pressing 1, 99% of the time b/c going melee with pretty much any HoT mob as a thief results in instantaneous death. I have tried a mix of valk, soldiers, serker, clerics, etc now and it’s always the same thing; try to melee mobs and then get insto killed b/c mob flipped around and instantly hits me for over 16k in a blink of an eye. Then I watch a reaper solo champs and out heal them. Not all classes are meant to be equal I guess!

Here’s my suggestion after playing for a few days; grind until you have updraft and mushroom hop. Once done, go to the Dragon map that is basically a moba then grind events over and over. If you can’t get there by your self which is probable, find a ‘friend’ who has access there and use a port to friend thing.
Once you get enough mastery levels to access HPs, go back and hope someone has posted a guide to get them.
What ever you do, do NOT stay in any other hot maps; the exp there is pathetic and there is next to no chained events. There are some but they usually break at some point so I really suggest going to the dragon map instead; this is where EVERYONE is heading to now.
On that note, this moba event is on the level of TTS in needing coordination to complete so you will have to be content to farm the chains instead until it inevitably fails. Pugs will never succeed in this event but at least you can get good exp until then.
Lastly, they have pretty much increased the level cap, added grind walls, and also ‘reputation’ grinds on top of that. Bascially, HoT has an insane amount of grinding. ie. doing the exact same things over and over again for a very long time.
I can understand why they did this, they did it like this is to put up grind walls to slow people down to a crawl.

You can upgrade to Windows 64bit free of charge, depending on which Windows you have. Might consider investigating that.

I get CTDs every 50-90 minutes constantly.
I will be playing any where and then game just crashes. I only have win defender with real time scan on, nvidia control panel, and Real Tech audio as third party apps running in the back ground. All my other games do not crash.
I have no idea what this crash report means so I need to know if this on Anets end or mine. I’d like to play and not crash, so any help would be appreciated. thank you.

This happens once I get past 50 minutes and only after, never before.
I can play flawlessly up until this point with no issues, game runs great.
Then it dies, with this same error.
OOM suggest a memory leak but I am no computer expert so this why I am posting!
Why am I crashing?
I get CTDs every 50-90 minutes constantly.
I will be playing any where and then game just crashes. I only have win defender with real time scan on, nvidia control panel, and Real Tech audio as third party apps running in the back ground. All my other games do not crash.
I have no idea what this crash report means so I need to know if this on Anets end or mine. I’d like to play and not crash, so any help would be appreciated. thank you.

I have 64 bit win 7 installed, every 50-90 minutes I CTD. The bug report states this is a OOM related error. I have 9 gigs of ram so that should not be an issue. I will list the details next time it crashes which should be in a little while b/c it will crash without fail. I have only the windows anti virus with real time protection on, nvidia experience, real tech audio manager, steam, and bnet browser as third party apps running. I need to know if this OOM error is b/c of me or them. It looks like a mem leak of some sort.

Remeber when we had to use weapons and exp them up just to unlock skills? It was removed, removed for good reason. Yet now HoT just took that to a new and epic level in grind. I play f2ps that are less grindy than this, how exactly is that possible.
They should put a 400 hero point pack in the cash shop, I am darned certain it will sell by the 1000s in the first minute.
How are people getting full mastery in 8 hours, I have played over 16 and I have friggin only gotten 1/2 and that’s with 122 points to start.
I am going to assume it’s either EotM or some sorta exploit. Please tell us how to do it. All I want is my elite specs entirely unlocked, then I can enjoy this expansion but not until then.
Around 4/10.
- elite grind is a chore, in order to get hero points you have to grind masteries…all of them. And not just first levels, all levels. I have to do this on all chars, some of which do not have even near world completion thus along with having to do hot + mastery grind in it’s entirety…I have to 100% every char I intend to play just to be able to use my elites. Wth!
- events are far and few between and give very very little exp. I am now grinding static trash spawns since with kill booster/food this is 2x faster than wandering around aimlessly looking for rare events. I expect after mentioning this, they will nerf static mob spawn exp post haste.
- event flow here is non-existant, they seem to have gone for a completely random design. this is not like SW where after a few runs it’s not only easy to understand what to do…it also ‘flows’. ie. there is no question what to do or where to go. Not so in HoT, endlessly running around in circles. Oops, I died for the 100th time to some unavoidable mechanic that my elite if fully unlocked might have prevents, well lets have that fun super long walk back and hope it’s not over by the time I get there. Opps it was. /camp
- speaking of rare events, when I do find an event there is NO people. Most these events need at least 5 people if not a zerg to complete. People who come after this intial rush are in for a suprise when they can’t advance since people before, due to bad experiences will not be coming back to help. GL completing these a month or two from now! You’ll need it!
- map design is like zelda but worse; it’s a maze from hell. There is no openness, no I am being funneled through and endless cave that is filled with dead ends. This cave is also three dimensional which makes it even worse. HoT is essentially one gigantic jump puzzle, I hate jump puzzles btw.
- despite this being a expansion launch that should have a massive amount of people, yet when I play in these new zones I rarely see anyone. Infact I went 1 hour last night wandering around and didn’t see a single person. I have reloged/zoned many many times now to try to get into a new instance with people but it’s always the same; hot is dead player wise. It’s either there isn’t many playing or mega server is not working right.
- this game now crashes without fail after 50-60 minutes with an OOM error. Assume this is a memory leak. this is really frustrating me. No other game I have does this, only gw2.
- and speaking of that crash, due to the design of events where you gotta be participating for the entire 2 hours of night/day and also get dumped into different instances once I re-load from a crash…I can’t get any thing done! Thus, like I said, I will have to grind static spawns to get exp. Fun? hardly.
All I can say, from the moment I logged into play HoT there has been kitten blocks at every single turn of the corner. Oh want to go next step story or get that HP? Tough kitten, you gotta grind like a dog. I should be having fun here. In the end, if I had full elite spec unlocked quickly without problems I think my opinion would be completely different…
As of such, playing HoT over the last few days has actually given RL headaches. The asprin company must be pleased.

I feel like a rat in a gigantic maze filled with dead ends and walls trying to go after the cheese. The ‘cheese’ being hero points. I am now rushing on main and will rush on my alts, so I am totally not payiing attention to story line, art, graphics, etc; I am grinding blindly just so I can get my elite and start to actually ENJOY the game. GG?
All these hero points need you to have masteries grinded and that should not be how it is imo….
Elite specs should NOT be tied to masteries, period.
A number like 40 seems like it is attainable in a small amount of time but in reality that is not the case. This elite grind is job and I do that enough in RL tyvm.
