Runes on Armor

gaspara.4079

First in the future you should put questions like this in the Players Helping Players forum section, not only is that the right place but you are less likely to get insulted by trolls there.

As for your question the 1/4 represents that you can get bonuses for having up to 4 of that same rune in different pieces of armor not that the armor piece can hold 4 runes. Each armor piece can only hold a single rune but minor(up to 2), major(up to 4), and superior(up to 6) have bonuses for having multiple of the same rune in different armor pieces. The runes are designed to give better or more specific bonuses the more of the same kind you have in your armor.

To learn more about runes see the wiki entry for runes here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Runes

Pretty sure he’s saying, he is getting kite fortunes, instead of the bags he normally gets t5-6 crafting mats in, and is asking Anet to not replace normal drops with event drops. At least that’s what I read

This is exactly what he is saying. The kite fortunes were added to the same loot table as everything else for WvW, and with a very high drop rate because they didn’t want WvWers to miss out on the extra buffs and skins available in the living story. However the way the loot table works this means that the fairly common crafting materials bags and even rarer drops are pushed out by the high drop rate of the fortunes. Sadly the fortunes have no monetary value unless you happen to get the gold buff form them and even that provides minimal extra gold to WvWers.

Rather than lower the key gem cost Gnashblade should have promised to lower the Auction House fees by a small amount for 4 weeks. That would have had a similar effect as the Keil offering.

Enough back pieces (for now at least) please!

Back items are the key aesthetic piece in the game. They serve no other purpose than to ad flavor to your character. I honestly think all back pieces should be stat-less and either be account bound or not bound at all depending on how they are acquired. so they are used purely for taste and diversity. I would even go so far as saying it would be awesome if they were considered collectibles like mini pets, so that you could put them in the bank without taking up precious space. However I think they make money on transmutation crystals and bank upgrades purely due to the number of available back options.

8 characters 1 of each class. 3 are 80s (warrior(PVE), guardian(WvW), thief(first character), rest are everywhere from 25-45. I pretty much level up my alts exclusively by doing the daily with whichever I am currently trying to level and then going to work on the living story or do some WvW.

Customer Trust

Personally the way they have done this is way better than the alternative. Giving it “secretly” to the people that bought gems and supported the game financially over the last few months (notice its not just a single month or anything smaller) is a way of thanking those who honestly purchased gems to support the game or to get what they wanted from the cash shop. The alternative would be to publicly promote that buying gems during the next x time would get players a free kite now or worse a free mystery gift later would be a far more shady business strategy and would make me question their motives for the gift.

When I entered pvp and saw someone standing there holding one for the first time I was like “That is awesome, how did he gets this”, but I went to bed right after that without knowing. I looked it up this morning and found it was a gift for players who bought gems in the last 3 months and immediately went to check my bank records to see if it was still June when I purchased gems recently.

Hardest class to master in WvW/Pvp

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: gaspara.4079

gaspara.4079

The thing is your original post is quite vague. As far as difficulty to master is a wide range of things. It could mean which one has the most difficult mechanics to be top notch, which would probably be engineer or ele because of the way their “weapon” swapping is different from the other classes. It could mean which one is currently at the biggest disadvantage, which right now is Ranger in some situations but definitely not all.

It really depends what you are looking for when you say hardest.

Why are you playing a game that doesn’t appeal to you then? That is one of the most silly things I have ever heard. Games are meant to be fun, if they don;t appeal to your sense of fun then you should stop playing them immediately.

Name one other company that has “hundreds of skins” in their game for armor choices.

Any decent game, where the developer releases modding tools, gets hundreds and hundreds of skins all for free!

The modding community makes them, and many modders are far better at armour/weapons design than the fugly crap Anet’s so-called professionals have come up with since game launch.

Go to any mod hosting site and see for yourself ..

Of course you can get better skins in community made content because they can afford to spend as much time as they want making their skin while the ArenaNet artist have a deadline.

However name one MMO at this graphics level that has had success with community content.

500 AP for GW1 Hall of Monuments Intended?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

gaspara.4079

If the AP rewards for HoM was always this high I wouldn’t have cared, but to greatly increase them now with the addition of added rewards for higher AP feels like a play to get more people to go out and buy GW/EoTN and increase their server population to avoid closure.

I had considered buying EoTN before and will have to revisit it as I quit shortly before Nightfall was released having played since beta so I probably would have some of the HoM achievements completed. However to buy EoTN stand alone is/was expensive, so I decided not to.

I thought it was about £4 on Amazon for the EoTN expansion right now? that’s what I bought it as about two weeks ago.

But what I don’t understand is why, if the AP reward for playing HoM in GW1 were higher to start with, it’s really a problem now? I mean, they’d still be higher by 500 in the cosmetic ladder … nothing really would have changed.

Also, these 500 are STATIC. They’re not increasing every day, and they can’t be added to after those 50 points are received from HoM in GW1. So once this initial shift in the leaderboards (since I can really only fathom that this is what people must be upset about) has settled, they will quickly readjust back to the way they were before. The people who were leading previously obviously got there by getting AP, and they’ll continue to get AP for the same stuff after, whereas the HoM points will stay static. Therefore, the leaderboards will readjust to previous levels.

Nobody gets a case of gold for being at the top.

I looked at going back shortly after GW2 was released and for the expansion alone was $25, amazon appears to have the GW: Platinum pack for $15 right now, but that is still more than your £4, but not totally unreasonable for getting the original game also, even though I don’t need it.

As far as the part that bothers me, its that the timing (the same patch that links achievement points to other rewards) seems to me to be more of a marketing scheme to sell remaining Guild Wars copies rather than a move to further reward loyal guild wars players. I am no where near as bothered by it as everyone else complaining in this thread, I just dislike the timing.

I was cowering a little as i was scrolling down the patch notes tbh. I’ll happily take this, cheers!

Btw, how could you introduce the bug to begin with anyway? I’m thinking it was actually a test to see if 10% was actually warranted.

They merged the 2 traits if I remember correctly both gave conditional 5% damage based on distance and 1 based on bleeding target. When they combined the 2 they just kept the 5% damage of 1 of the traits even though the tooltip read 10%.

Thanks for dispelling my ignorance

Actually the 5% damage vs bleeding foes was merged with the +20% bleed duration trait. So that doesn’t explain the half effectiveness.

I actually like the new Radiant set as a way to armor up a medium class like Ranger to make them look more armored.

The Zenith helms don’t look so awful as medium either. The Zenith backs are definitely not heavy by any means though.

The Hellfire shoulders and helm could also find a place for light armor as they are more fire/terror niche than true armor.

Then you and everyone else doing it can stop talking about people that don’t relate to me or my message about one-time/temporary content.

I say the game has lost players, which is has and people call me a “doomsayer”. I say the game needs improvement and people say “why change anything? I’m happy” Clearly a lot of people are not! And they left and/or are leaving because they are not satisfied with just getting temporary updates. Not a threat! Just a fact!

If what we propose doesn’t tread on what you are getting/already have then it’s completely unfair to dismiss what we have to say to make more people happy with the game. Also when I say we, I mean myself and many people I know.

For the 100th time, I’m not against the one time events. You say I didn’t pay attention to your message well so far nobody has kittening paid attention to mine either when I say that.

ANet! By all means, give these people their quick biscuits but don’t let that stall you in giving other players deeper content they crave this game to have!

But that is just it, they do relate to your message. They are using that same false, loaded words about players leaving to try and incite strong emotional response for why the game should be tailored to what they want from it. Clearly the current model is working quite well for them financially and all signs point to a very healthy supply of new players compared to departing players. So your and others’ arguments that they should change the game because players are leaving is completely invalidated by evidence.

I am not saying that they shouldn’t be working on and adding some permanent content, but I am saying that bi-weekly content even if it is largely superficial far exceeds what I have come to expect from the industry. In fact its whats keeps me checking the forums and logging in regularly so that I don’t miss anything and can see whats next.

Multiple snips

I have seen absolutely zero complaints about the content being temporary in the game. The people playing are happily enjoying everything about the game. It is only the doomsayers on the forums complaining. Everyone wants the game to be perfectly tailored to them, but that is not physically possible. ArenaNet has and will continue to develop the game in a way that suits their vision and aligns with profit because that is how the software industry works.

Also people quit games all the time, all reputable sources of information for population degradation say that Guild Wars 2 is a very healthy game. It is only the doomsayers once again that preach how so many players have quit and continue to point at the statistics from the first 3 months after release. However the first 3 months population graphs show the same population degradation curve as every single other game including World of Warcraft in the first 3 months.

Now you have two options, go enjoy the game or continue listening to the doomsayers and becoming one yourself. Personally I would much rather be playing the game right now, but sadly I don’t have that option sitting at my desk at work eating lunch.

I’m not a kittening doomsayer so stop labeling.

I’m saying people want permanent content. I didn’t say they don’t want the temporary content or that it should be removed. GW2 is a healthy game and it could be a helluva lot healthier across all servers if they would focus more on bigger content rather than side shows.

Now you have two options, open your eyes and pay attention to what people are typing and stop assuming you already know what they’re saying or don’t participate on the forums so we can have less confusion.

I’m sorry if I offended, but you didn’t pay attention much when reading my post. Despite mocking my last paragraph you completely missed that I wasn’t calling you a doomsayer I implied that your change to a “People are leaving” statement to support your argument is the first step to going becoming one.

You have some valid arguments for what you want, but you completely missed my main paragraph about how ArenaNet is trying to do something different and is clearly seeing success with the living story because they are both hiring and increasing its cycle time.

I for one feel the living story is a great change of pace from the typical mmo content model.

First in response to your earlier reference to WoW and the Cataclysm. That was the result of the release of an expansion, which is almost certainly in the works for GW2 and had no foretelling or back story to predicate it at all so it was terrible fro ma lore point of view.

Also the living story is leaving behind more and more concrete pieces that shape the world going forward. Also much of its fits in with the established lore of the game and some sets new precedence for the lore lovers to get excited over.

Why must the content be permanent? In every other MMO players play the new content tons and tons until the next new content comes out then 80% of the population never touches the previous content again and it just sits there dusty, taking up world space that could be reused in the future and bloating the game files. Why not remove it, if not to make it feel like the players are actually changing the world, then to allow for re-purposing of the space in the world?

Has a lot of the temporary content been a bit silly and unrewarding? Sure it has, but they are working on changing that. This is something utterly new and as such will take some time to perfect.

they fixed a bug.

why are some people angry over a bug fix?

There is a difference between a bug and a mistake in programming, although in this case it doesn’t make a difference. I’m thinking it wasn’t a bug, but Anet realizing that it was just too much for something that could be done repeatedly by one person. That’s okay though, imo it makes sense.

They did say “bug”, which is still unlikely for something like this. I guess its better than them saying “we made a mistake”.
We’ve seen many things like this in the past too, many resulting in permanent bans. Hopefully nobody was banned by what would surely have been labeled an exploit.

Actually there is exactly no difference between a mistake in the code and a bug. Having a typo or incorrect value in the vendor price of an item is still just a mistake in the code causing unintended results which is by definition a bug.

This particular issue was huge and needed to be fixed quickly before it had a serious effect on the economy. A free 3s, assuming you want to sell it, is more than enough reward to go along with the other chests in the puzzle. It wasn’t meant to be an easy way to get more money for everyone to do, so some of you need to change your perspective.

Yes, a mistake in the code is a typical cause of bugs. I was saying that they put exactly what they wanted in code, the mistake was their decision to let them sell for that much.

How do you know they meant 60s? How do you know that isn’t a typo? My whole point is without them telling us we have no way of knowing what they intended.

My opinion about what things should change

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

No the fact we don’t like is that is that GW2 is more and more like thousands of other main-stream mmos. Unlike what first GW was.

This! Thank you a million times. In short – Guild Wars 2 is becoming what other MMOs are. Colin’s plan for the support of this game is every MMO’s plan with a fresh paintjob. To me, when a game is forced to rely solely on grinding to define its endgame, that means the studio has run out of creativity.

I don’t get why people are so defensive of Guild Wars 2, like it’s the Holy Grail of originality. It used to be this completely different concept. Now it’s reduced to basically a standard MMO without gear grind and nothing else to substitute that. You’re not paying for subscription and the micro transactions aren’t a pay-to-win mechanic. That’s it, really. Everything else this year has been cookie cutter classic.

Bi-Weekly temporary content is just like every MMO? Along with that multiple cases of special skins to these temporary events that will in the future give a glimpse at what a playrer has done and how long they have been playing.

The continued improvement to s/tpvp and wvw?(which both have a basis in past MMOs but neither follow the industry standard mold)

The constant interviews and posts about what they are working on 2 weeks, 2 months, and even 6 months out? That is certainly not a standard for already released MMOS.

Have they made some mistakes while trying to be/stay unique? Of course they have and they are working on a remedy for those things. Such as Group Finder, Guild Halls/ Home Instance, Lack of difficult content for groups larger than 5, all of which are in the works for the relatively near future.

Forging your own path is not easy, there are a lot of challenges along the way and most of them are not overnight fixes. The best part about Guild Wars 2 is if the road is too bumpy for you right now, put it aside, play something else and try it again in a month to see if you like the changes. It will still be here, will cost you no money, and might save you from spending more on other games.

Or
4. Do you reach a certain limit of achievement points and get the skin mailed to you once?

What they have already said makes it quite obvious it will either be 3 or 4. You will be retroactively awarded pieces you have already earned implies you don’t “spend” the points.

I see about 120 (maybe 50 unique posters) posts and about 40 different opinions here. That just goes to show all of you that no matter what you think will make the game better. only ArenaNet can see that actual data and will likely always due what is most likely to keep profits up. So I am sorry, but if you don;t like the decisions they make you have two options. 1 Keep playing anyway. 2. Find a game you enjoy more.

This game was never designed to be the perfect game for everyone, simply because that is physically impossible. Until someone release a game where every player can make their own content just by thinking about what they want no game will ever have a chance at being everyone perfect game, and I bet even then some people will “dislike” that game.

1) This survey has a major issue in that it broadcast through the forums which is filled with ignorant people, but is filled with topics claiming Rangers are the worst at everything and Warriors are the king of the game. Look at theives for example, the forums are filled with posts saying they are totally OP in WvW and others say they are useless because popular opinion is that they are excellent roamers and 1v1 duelists but die instantly in zergs.

2) Just because it is popular opinion doesn’t make it true. Look again at thieves, their reputation as dying instantly in zergs is based solely of the fact that many ignorant thieves join the zerg in berserker’s gear because a forum post told them to only where berserker’s so they get a reputation of not being durable enough to be part of the zerg.

For the Record I picked:
Open World: Mesmer (Thief would be second)
Dungeons: Ranger (Necros would be second due to how conditions are handled)
ZvZ: Ranger (Thief would be second)
WvWsmall: Warrior (Necro would be second mainly due to their inability to disengage but I think this new patch has helped them a lot I just haven’t had enough time to test)
s/tpvp: Warrior (Thief is second, although Ranger might be now I haven’t played enough since the patch to know how much the nerf hurt them)

Of course in the end your skill level, your build and that of your opponents and how your build fits your playstyle matter just as much or more than your class selection.

I based mine entirely off playing all the classes in multiple aspects of the game.

Warrior and Thief are really close, but the warriors travel rotation is SO much easier to carry out at a high efficiency compared to the Thieves, so I would say the answer is Warrior. However if the runner has the perfect conditions and executes perfectly I bet the Thief would win, but the slightest mistake will lead to combat speed and a big time loss.

After getting a character to max level I was saddened and stunned to realize all you had to do was have a maxed out profession to craft some exotics, browse the auction house for your other stuff you weren’t able to craft and you were done for 80% of your “gearing”.

Then iirc (it’s been a while since I quit) you had to get fractal level ten to get access to the ascended items, was only a matter of time till you had that one, if you already didn’t had it by doing those monthly/daily “achievements”.

There, you’re geared. Now what?

No other activity what so ever in this game will give you better stats. Every kittening exotic is the same. The only reason to run dungeons is to get vanity skins. Jezus kittening Christ, even the legendary doesn’t have better stats.

This is were I realized this game isn’t for me. I want to be challenged, be rewarded, be able to be min-max and kitten around with my gear, try out other things. A new dungeon? Cool! New gear? Ah no… No… But yay there’s a new backpack and new vanity items. That’s great for people who like that but that won’t help my dps or make my char grow, get better, push it to the limit. We don’t want all that, we want everybody to be the same and stay where we are… How does that make sense?

Oh yeah, it’s not about gear, it’s a bout skill, right? It’s about the experience?
Well… why not ALL of it? So everybody can have fun.

Not all of it because if you can obtain better gear, than much of skills goes out the window. Lower tier content becomes trivial and pvp becomes more based on what gear you have than how skilled you are.

This game has plenty of things to work towards, but it lacks something that apparently many gamers need. It doesn’t set your goals and challenges for you by having staggered and advancing rewards. It expects you to set your own goals whose rewards are mostly intrinsic. Its a much more adult game for better or worse because it does have a carrot on a stick held in front of you but instead lets you head for tha blueberry patch over there, or that mountain in the distance or even shoot for the moon.

If they wanted to have a f2p game, then the client should be free. GW operates on game and expansion sales, and should not depend on a cash shop. Unfortunately too many people are easy prey.

GW2 operates on both, they are a business it is their job to make money….

As far as patch balancing, I think many of you are vastly under-estimating the difficulty involved in balancing classes in all 3 mediums (s/t pvp, wvw, pve). You are also giving the developers no credit at all suggesting they just threw this together in a couple weeks.

The statement about their being more than enough conditions already and that some are useless clearly only plays burst builds because there is not a single condition that I dislike. But crit and crit damage are vastly overpowered with the design of most situations in the game.

Torment and specifically the new necro death shroud 5 skill can have a major impact on pvp and wvw.

So what is this game about?

So what is the focus in this game?! I’m trying to find this game goal and as far as I know there is none!

The goal is the same goal as in any other good game: to have fun.

People are too used to mediocre games (aka MMORPGs) these days.

I totally agree, I might like guild wars 2 but it doesnt change the fact that as a video game it sucks. it might be one of the best mmorpgs I haved, but it is still a horrible video game. Guild wars 2 is like the smartest guy in a class for kittens. It doesn’t matter you are still kittened.

Perhaps your personality and preferences are just not suited for the MMO genre. Its just like movies and books. If you don’t enjoy reading science fiction, well maybe you shouldn’t be surprised when you dislike the next science fiction book you read.

Every single person enjoys games for their own reasons and if enough of your reasons aren’t supported in a game you less likely to enjoy it.

Best WvW/PvE server for NA/US

At the bottom of this page is the predicted ranking order. The servers at the top are likely the post populated in general. Some have a bigger PVE presence than others, but the top few will definitely have WvW queues during peak US hours.

I think one of the main things that causes less character attachment in this game as GW1 is the fact that we handpick less skills in this game. In GW1 you had the wohle bar to pick 1 by 1 so you picked every skill for a particular situation and knew when you wanted to use it. In GW2 you pick 1/2/3 weapons 1 heal 3 skills and an elite, but the weapons you pick pretty much determine your playstyle and often effect how you pick your other skills. This means that your doing a lot less picking skills to fit situations are much as you are to fit your build.

Any new content coming?

Just started playing Rift again. very good cash shop. no reliance on Gamble boxes and more importantly – the game is not designed around the shop. I just has convenience and shortcut gear. Unlike the “hey we only sell vanity items” (and gold, sole currency for everything) in a game where vanity items are literally the only thing to strive for. It’s all GW2 has lmao. Plus I miss mounts and the trinity, but that’s not the point.

And Gaspara; if you can’t see the issue with temporary content versus additive, then I don’t know what to say. Alright, I’lI state what should be obvious : if WoW (or any other mmo for that matter) had gone this route it wouldn’t be the content-heavy juggernaut that it is today. It would still be vanilla.

In this game , unlike all other MMOs except the cheap F2P knockoffs that we love to disparage : you can’t tackle new goals at your own pace, giving reason to play day after day. You burn through the time-limit content and move on the whatever other game scratches that itch, until the next crappy temporary gimmick.

How do you stay invested in a game like that? only through social pressure (friends, guildies) which is a pretty fragile thing when you start hating the game you’re playing. The whole no-sub but cash shop approach is destroying good game design lol

First off WoW is a shell of the great game that it was in vanilla and BC because it has been bloated with content and their attempts to homogenize because its the only way to even somewhat balance 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 80v80, PvE and raiding.

The real problem is that no matter how you release content someone will complain. If you make it progressive the casuals will not have groups for the beginner dungeons they need, if you make it flat the hardcores run out of content and then complain. At least with time constrained content those special skins I unlock feel special because chances are they will be unattainable ever again.

Too many of todays young players don’t actually stop to enjoy what they are playing and instead spend every second trying to be the best and chasing shinnies.

Any new content coming?

Whats wrong with the temporary content? As long as they keep pumping it out and they don’t just start repeating stuff there should always be something new and different to do in the game. That is way better than getting a single new dungeon every 3 months but it stays forever and the world gets more and more crowded.

Expansions will come eventually and bring with them new zones/dungeons/Classes?/races?/lore but the game is less than a year old so an expansion is definitely no closer than 3 months off.

Once again undeserved nerfs to PvE

So once again you are nerfing weak PvE professions…..

PvE players are being treated like series C players…they either rolls warrior and guardians or they keep getting nerfed and less competitive.

The situation was broke moths ago, but somehow its not ignored but made worst for PVP sake that nobody plays.

Can we have some sort of feedback just to know why you are ruining PvE experience?
And gimmicks like making professions identity useless is not what people expect from balance……

In the meantime guardian and warriors players complain the game is too easy…..

You are aware both the Warrior 5 signet leveling build and the standard Warrior Max %dmg %crit increase speed clear build are being nerfed/pulled apart right?

If the supposedly leaked patch notes are what I assume your complaining about, the signet precision is being level scaled meaning warriors won;t have 80-105% crit from levels 20-50 anymore and the +% dmg/crit based on adrenaline level are being made into grandmaster traits, meaning they can no longer take both of those and forceful greatsword.

Also based on your signature you complaining about the loss of two stun breaks in the invincible ele cantrip build and I think you have no reason to complain because no build should be able to contest a wvw point for 20 seconds and run out alive by themselves.

New Condition is a slap to the face...

Even if the damage is minimal, the point is that we’re gonna be punished for moving now…While warriors being in need of more sustain, rely heavily on mobility..and now our leg specialist is being cut down ( Why actually…is 1 sec immobilize Really that Op to be having for a warrior..? ) ,ontop of it we’re being punished for walking aswell..Prob,some kitten will jump in saying, well then just dont move untill the condition is gone…So,we stand there not moving, also not attacking because retal hits like a truck, confusion hitting you aswell…I think in about 4 patches warriors will be just sitting ducks standing around being worthless because were probably gonna be punished for breathing in air aswell.

Leg Specialist is being changed because the third attack in the main hand sword combo string is being changed to a 1 second cripple, so to be able to apply a 1 second cripple that applies a 1 second immobilize ever 1.2 seconds means you can perma-immobilize anyone without certain traits/runes/food which would be ridiculous.

As far as torment goes it is really designed around the buff to Necro Death Shroud adding the new skill that will torment an area and start a timer that if the effected opponents don’t leave in time with cause them to be immobilized.

“Death shroud: New ability #5 – Dark Binding: You tether all enemies within a 600 range, constantly dealing Torment to them over time. At the end of the cast, Dark Binding immobilizes all affected enemies still within the radius.”

Basically this forces the opponents effected to decide do I move out and take the damage or do I stay in and take the loss of mobility and the immobilize at the end. However if they added the condition only to Necros people would have whined, so they used it to make a slight buff to a couple other condition builds. (Thief Venoms and Mesmer Scepter which wakitten hard by the confusion nerf)

Best Boon/Best Condition?

Boon – Stability because it blocks so many forms of CC

Condition – Immobilize because its a hard CC that can’t be cleansed with a simple stun removing ability.

It is part of their largest balancing patch to date that is coming next week. Check the main page news to read more about it.

Torment - Dont run from thieves?

Look at Anet patch history…we have the right to be a touch cynical based on experience.

How so? Thieves are far less scary than they were near launch with the 1shot downs and the unkillable stealth condition builds.

Where I can really see this condition being amazing is by a necro in combination with fear. A condition that causes more damage the more they move and a condition that makes them move and can be traited to do more damage the more conditions on the target gets a whole new condition.

Also the change to weakness will really hurt a lot of thieves because you just weaken them when they appear out of stealth and their burst is ruined and their burst>stealth rotation is thrown off. It will also serve to make some thief builds specifically those that use lotus poison(assuming it is unchanged) to have the potential to survive bursts without being forced to gear both toughness and vit.

People also need to learn to swap weapons/traits if they are going to be running alone back to the zerg or to an objective. A Staff Ele should never bee running around alone… switch to D/D or Sc/F to run then back to Staff when you catch the zerg.

More temportary content, just what I wanted.

Why do you need tons of permanent content when they introduce new temporary content literally every two weeks. In many games they introduce this level of content as permanent content at half the speed, but players only actively use the newest stuff, so the old stuff just sits there making the game larger and using up space in the world.

This way the unneeded stuff goes away and players are left with rewards that feel special (because they are forever linked to the event) and the world feels like its actively changing every day.

The hate for talent

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

gaspara.4079

I am not talking about boasting etc, I dislike skilled players who despise average players, but I like competition, I like to dream, I like to strive to be the best (in a healthy way), I like the fun and the motivation I get from being challenged! yet people hate me for my yearnings.

Elitism is not the problem here, what is wrong is averageism !!

I hate to have to be the one to tell you this, but calling people who are happy just playing and never getting better the problem is elitism. And for you to try and tell them how they should play is what is wrong.

I’m sorry if you don’t find this game challenging enough for you, but plenty of players do. If you need more challenge there are plenty of things you can do. Such as play with all whites or all greens or all rares, try a new class or a different build, try to accomplish something fairly difficult without dying or as a speed run, try to carry some of these less good players through some of the more difficult content, try to complete as many achievements as possible or find some other interesting way to handicap yourself so that you feel accomplished when you achieve something.

At the end of this game is what you make of it and trying to blame others for your grievances will only result in them pointing the finger back at you.
