Guerreros de la Ultima Alianza [GDUA]

Actually I do not believe that the henchmen gained ascension, only our player characters. If I remember right this was the reasoning behind why henchmen couldn’t enter the Fissure of Woe or the Underworld, but I do not have proof of this other than the fact that when we ascend it is only the Player Character and his doppelganger. One could say that the others faced a similar trial in order to get through, but we never see this, nor do we have any proof of it.
That makes sense, I tried to find more information about it but couldn’t >.<
Boy I need to replay that campaign, can’t really remember much about it. Yeah I thought that they eventually got ascended because it was required to see the Mursaats (please correct me if I’m wrong), only through Ascension can you obtain the “Gift of True Sight”…

Profession: Support Guardian.
Experience: Path 2 (I believe that’s the one for the Mursaat).
Time: At night during the whole week, on weekends can probably play earlier.
Other: Mostly I want to learn how to do this paths efficiently. I don’t really mind if it takes us more time or we aren’t going full berserker (although I don’t actually aim to make runs with this build). I’m ok with helping people after I’ve obtained more experience.
Ok people c’mon… She was only mentioned once in this thread and given the facts that you guys are taking into account… the obvious winner is Devona!!
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Devona
I mean, just look at the freaking places she has been to, the enemies she has defeated:
1. Captain of the Ascalonian Army and a member of “Ascalon’s Chosen”, group of elite warriors.
2. Survived the Searing.
3. Gained ascension, bested the Mursaats, an Undead Lich and his army of Titans.
4. Gained the respect of the Luxons/Kurzicks and with them beated Shiro (technically Shiro and the Lich were killed twice xD).
5. Recruited personally by Kormir to join the Order of Whispers.
6. Defeated the God Abbadon and beated the hell out of hundreds of Margonites in his realm (although I don’t quite remember if you can take henchmen to the DoA… well before that she killed plenty of Margonites).
7. Defeated a champion of the Elder Dragon Primordius and his army of Destroyers.
8. Witnessed the wedding of Gwen and Thackeray.
I mean… let’s just /thread this.
P.D. I’m aware that the credit for this reasons goes to our characeters, but who doesn’t loves to take her into the party and see how she smashes things?
That’s one very OP fish then…
Yep works fine on my Arc S, very simple which is great. Already using it for setting some personal goals and it’s a great reference, thanks!
I know I’m late on posting this since the salvage ecto thing which i think was ingenious, but I just wanted to add that making my triforge pendant cost 750 piles of dust. I can’t think of anything that uses more of it than that.
Well Bifrost needs 750 piles of dust and if you are trying to upgrade the T5 materials you will need more dust
Thanks again :-)
I’m going to try the Mystic Forge next time. Good tip :-)
I have tried the Grenade kit, but to be honest, my wrist started to complain. And indeed the Flamethrower looks pretty slick, and it works with the mines and flameturret. Often when I have a pack on me they concentrate on my flame turret or healing turret, which gives me plenty of time to spread the fires of doom :-).
That’s what I really like about this game, the way you can adjust your profession and playstyle. Sure I may not be super best damage, but it works. And so far I haven’t seen anyone go mental over it (not like in that other big fantasy MMO game, brr … the horrors there …).
I’ve been reading up on the wiki a bit, and phew, they don’t call it a legendary for nothing.
Many thanks again!
Yeah just play with what you like, don’t worry about the DPS… trust me I’m runnning a support guardian and I do 0 damage… no really I do ZERO damage (can’t crit for christ sake >.<).
Still with the amounts of buffs, specially giving almost full stacks of might, I’m still able to provide everyone with huge boosts of damage, I believe that compensates a bit my lack of damage. So far I haven’t met a single group that asks me what I’m running or needs me to go full berserker.
And yeah the legendary takes some time to get, something I’m trying to do is to purchase exotics weapons with the dungeon tokens and then use them on the Mystic Forge, still if I don’t get a precursor at least I managed to save/get some gold out of those tokens ;D
Tip: DO NOT buy those T6 materials yet, try to get the Mystic Clovers using the “1 clover recipe”, this is by far the safest way to go if you are aiming for those Clovers and you will get some materials in the process.
1. Do you need a crafting profession to get exotic gear?
You can get exotic armor from a crafting profession, although a very cheap way to get it is to buy one with Karma from a Temple event in Orr (giving as an example one of the vendors, take note that each temple has different armor in stats):
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Keeper_Jonez_Deadrun
2. I finished an area the other day (100%) and got rewarded with some yellow items. So i finished another area today, but this time i did not get anything. Why not?
Check on the level of the area, you are surely going to get a yellow item if you explore fully a high level zone.
3. Someone talked to me about legendary thingies. Do you need special crafting training for this?
Kind of, there is a item that you need to craft, here’s a list of the legendaries (each has the material / crafting requirement):
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Legendary_weapon
4. When i get items from killing things i usually salvage it. Would i be better of selling it?
As you like, I usually sell white, blue and green items, salvage yellows and sell on the Trading Post exotics… but that’s just me ;D
5. Im on the gunnars hold server, is there a way to find a guild ingame? Like a guild browser thingie?
Not really, your best bet would be the in-game chat or use the article here in the forums:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/guilds/lfguild
6. Is there a way to see your latency ?
Well answered above…
Hope this helps and welcome!! (although you have reached a high level xD)
Don’t jump on the bandwagen but play the game instead. There’s nothing wrong with the drops. The thing you’re referencing was the closing of a few grave exploits. If that’s not allowed, then how could A.net ever balance the game?
People are farming different stuff, which means farming Orr becomes ever more profitable. If only you knew how economics worked.
Exactly, while I’m farming materials I don’t see a problem with the drops. Yes there’s been a reduction to the drop rate, but it’s still pretty stable (or at least for what drops to me, maybe I’m just lucky).
I can only play for about 1-3 hours during the week in which time I focus on quickly finishing my daily and going to farm some materials, in fact I don’t even have to bother about the daily because I can finish it while farming (why is everyone so upset about dailies??).
In those hours I got enough materials (few Crystalline Dusts but still got enough to sell for a big profit during the high cost) and Heavy Loot Bags to keep a big stack of materials. Just gotta say that boy, am I glad that almost no one was farming this dusts, helped me get a ton of gold ^^
And just when I thought I had seen everything on the forums… you NEVER cease to amaze me guys… At this rate Anet will have to shut down the game because every little thing that they do is wrong.
If you’ve made it this far, I thank you for taking the time to read through my drivel. Happy adventuring!
Right now I’m filling a support ticket to Anet, I didn’t got my achievement for reading :’(
But in all seriousness, I’m with you. This type of content wasn’t as good as the F&F one, I’m not really complaining because I liked it (Crab toss was fun, and also looking at all the irritated players dying from the Karkas at the Canach’s Lair entrance xD).
There is still a lot of improvement to be made, but I’m OK with it because this feedback helps the developers experiment and learn what the players want, thus improving on the following events.
I would give it a 7/10, it was fun and made people head more into Southsun, but still some things lacked content (dungeon was too short) and the storyline didn’t felt as immersive, would had been nice if the Karka Queen looked different from the other Karkas. Thank you Anet for keeping the game fresh with this new events
I’m gonna hop on the “Thank you ANet” train for this topic.
All I wanted of it was the animation change back to the normal harvesting animation. What I got was a massive revamp that made it much more interesting to me than the Molten Pick.
In short, the Consortium Sickle is a tad step above the Molten Pick and leagues above what it was before. Thanks for the fixes, guys. Appreciate ’em.
Besides, why would it having the same animation as a Hammer skill be a negative? The Molten Pick didn’t have a enough mining animation other than the lava effect.
Yeah I’m also grateful that the animation was changed, thank you Anet!
And well I’m not against the usage of other skill animations since they make this tools look awesome, but it’s funny… has no one seen that the Molten Pick uses something similar to the Elementalist #2 Staff Skill? (Lava Font) :P
Still, the Pick and Sickle are pretty awesome ^^
Hello,
Well the problem is with the complains that every type of gamer does in the forums, this is a battle that the developers won’t be able to win, EVER.
I too would love to have more challenging content, but we have to remember that there is still a big portion of the players that are “casual” (I think, that’s what it seems with all the “PLZ NERFFF” posts), or those who complain about not being able to do everything solo (I know it’s crazy, on a MULTIplayer onlline game…).
Anet should just keep doing the dungeons like the latest one, provide a way to solo it and a more challenging one for a team, hopefully that way everyone is pleased.
For the legendary weapons… idk I think that they’re ok right now, it’s something in which you have to do different aspects of the game and it’s something that the casual players can’t get without putting some effort. Placing some skill requirement in it would make it feel more legendary… but it’s not something that bothers me.
The Normal and Hard mode from GW1 would be awesome in here, Normal mode for dumbing down events and Hard mode for the challenging part.
There IS a test server. It’s whatever server you play on and the changes are tested there after being patched.
…and then we have to deal with a wonky game for hours to days before they realize there is a problem.
Still, even with a test server you can’t guarantee that all the bugs will be fixed. Yes there are some that could had been easily avoided before introducing the updates, but the live servers are totally different from the test ones.
Just look at the other games, even with a public test server some issues still get into the live version. I think that they get more feedback by introducing the updates directly to the live servers instead of just testing with a handful of people, WvW is very dynamic and it’s better to test if you have “thousands” of players in different matchups…
This gets us to your comment, which leaves us a buggy gameplay that of course no one likes…
Edit: Wanted to add that still I do agree that there will be some benefits if we get a test server, just that we can’t expect that the server will be the miracle solution to having absolutely no bugs due to the type of gameplay in WvW.

Hi,
The best would be to get more bag and bank slots, that extra space is actually really useful (but in my case, it’s more space to throw more garbage
)
Right now there are some limited time miniatures for 400 gems each, just in case you would like to take advantage of this (possible?) one time sale.
And well, permanent gathering tools are very convenient, but get them as the last option since more slots = win!
I’m aware that some fights might be harder for some people and pugs, and I’m not trying to be an elitist but that fight is still very doable in level 10, please don’t nerf it.
Just like Shuguard said, just stay away from the boss to prevent the agony or have a reflect. This encounter is great (or at least to me
) because you are in constant movement, not just spamming auto attacks to kill the boss.
Just my opinion, hope you can get the hang of the fight and enjoy it.
Hi,
To be honest, I don’t think that anyone that has been successful at investing on items will tell you their secrets in public places like this, where everyone can do the same type of investments.
My tips would be:
1. Learn from your mistakes: There is no secret formula for investing, you should compare what happened with your previous investments and see what’s wrong (which you asked, I know). Sometimes the problem is that people wait too long in the hopes of getting a big profit, like 60g per item (taking as an example the Super Greatsword Skin).
You need to learn to develop that cunning eye, to foresee when an item has too many offers which might (sometimes, as I’m saying you can’t really take for granted all the times) when it might become a price drop. Start by analyzing and playing with the Trading Post and keep an eye on how the prices change.
2. Study the market: Keep track on how popular items are becoming over the weeks, look at the “News and announcements” threads, hell even on the other threads in here or around the web, usually there is important information about upcoming changes or events that people overlook.
For instance, some weeks prior to the Southsun LS event, Karka Shells still had an “OK” price, that would had been a great time to sell any surplus shells before the event was even announced by Anet (there was a lot of speculation before the announcement) and still get some profit (Karka Shells are dropping way too easy now, lowering the demand).
In short, study the market, keep an eye on events. Can’t get into much more detail because it won’t be good for the investors ;D (Btw, sorry if my post was kind of confusing, English isn’t my main language).
Hope this helps in some way, if anyone feels that I’m wrong don’t hesitate to bash me, we can all learn

Keep it classy, San Diego.
Hopping on the bandwagon a little late; but foly huck, what did you do to get Palace to talk?
It’s an omen, kitten’s about to go down -_-.
I got late too, I couldn’t help but cry when I saw those words coming from that name, will save this image for future generations of WvW’ers :’)
Always search the wiki first ;D
- The story instances scale with the number of players participating.
Sauce: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Personal_storyline
Although to be honest I don’t feel that the Personal Story is much of a challenge (well counting out the final dungeon since it takes some time), good luck you guys and have fun!
Got this from the wiki:
— Depending on the damage and type of attack, whenever a player attacks an enemy, that player generates an amount of threat. —
Also, on the “Gaining and losing aggro”, they do mention that for neutral mobs shields and toughness is taken into account.
Sauce: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Aggro
Hope this helps.
Srsly though, guys. Even if all changes aren’t well received, it’s really great to see WvW getting some love lately. Keep up the great work.
It was pretty much ignored for 10 months… in which a very high % of hardcore pvpers left the game… hopefully this is not a case of too little too late.
I hope so too, the PvP aspect of the game needs some loving. There’s still many things to do, but I believe that with time people will come back after some fixes
It won’t end in a dungeon. We have however included an instance that will open up that has a single player version, and a more difficult multiplayer version.
The ending is different
Nice, hope we will get more things like this (dungeon would be awesome, but well I guess we first have to see this instance
)
Hopefully this will keep some people happy (yeah, I’m looking at you people who wish for more permanent content, solo versions or hard content dungeons) >_>
edit: booo my smilie didn’t worked… had to change it
Well… the idea is to fight against other servers… not fight a Dragon while the enemy is taking away all your territory.
Oh shoot, there goes my inspiration to make my character the next Michael Phelps… was going to create a guild event themed to the Olympics >.<
I mostly use MF to farm materials (hello pretty lodestones). Been farming Karkas with ~400% MF and the Vials of Powerful Blood have been popping like crazy, as well as a ton of Karka Shells and Venom Sacs (not sure if possible but sometimes a few of the Veteran Karkas are dropping 2 Karka Shells for me :o )
Ohhhh, trust me, they never stopped to translate something just because it sounded silly in spanish, thats why I have the client in english, the translations made in spanish from a latino’s point of view (or at least mine) are: LOLWUT?
Haha same goes for me, I sometimes have to change the client to spanish because I don’t know how the developers name certain item, even though spanish is my main language and I could just probably say my best guess (like Divinity’s Reach, “Linde de la Divinidad” seriously??)
Even there with spinal shivers and corrupt boon, its not that bad for the guardian, i can still kill necro that do that. I mean with purity and my signet its already 2 conditions gone every 10 sec. Then i run the three shouts with pure voice.
But i know what you mean, you guys are painful XD. I just wish necro would get a buff in pvp for power builds and be more efficient in different builds, i love the theme of your class but except being a B-tch to kill (with a boon/knight guardian), i dont picture you guys really strong in pvp nor in pve.
I might be wrong though, my only necro got to 22, had some hard time starting him to go over lvl 10 alone with no gear bought. Most of the necro i come accross as my thief, ranger of guardian are mostly a free (but long) kill.
Hehe totally, condition removal is something that guardians can do really well. Yeah I also wish we had more viable options, minions AI isn’t too good compared to the ranger pets and the power builds are lacking a bit
Testing out a power build, having trouble killing unless I rely on conditions, it’s hard for the enemy to kill me but in the end they always get me lol
Gaurdians ha! My necro laughs at them! Boon your self, yes do it! Those will be your own end! (spinal shivers and corrupt boon for the win)
Finally another fellow necro that understands why we can render useless some builds on the other classes
All those bunker builds or guardians using “Save yourselves!”, watch how my lovely corrupt boon destroys those buffs ^^ (yet I’m a main guardian user, but I see that shout being used way too commonly on PvP).
Hi,
Yeah I agree that the dungeons need some reworking, I also hate the fact that people only run CoF path 1-2 to get easy loot/gold. I’ll be honest I go kinda frequently to those runs, but I also help other guildies with different dungeons (both story and explorable) and it’s actually quite fun.
Before AC got harder, it was also one of the most frequently runned dungeons, now that the fights got a bit harder no one wants to run it because they get less gold from it, difficulty does matters but everyone (guess myself included) just wants to do them to get big rewards.
For the group finder, they said that they are working on it (sadly that was 3 months ago), so hopefully in some months we will get the tool. Best changes to get a group right now is ask in LA, join a guild or use the LFG website:
www.gw2lfg.com
If you look on the different forums you can see that Anet is responding to our feedback, we just have to give them time to improve and implement this changes.
Hello,
You just probably missed the Super Adventure Box:
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/april-2013/
It was fun, kinda refreshing to see something like that in a MMO. I haven’t gotten that far into fractals yet, but I think they remain the same with the difficulty change and the chance to get infused rings / fractals weapons the farther you get.
The past updates have added more content to PvP and WvW, soon on May 14th we will be getting more PvE content, the bosses are still scheduled for the reworks and there’s no ETA yet (as well as the rewards).
In short, there hasn’t been any big changes to the dungeons (apart from the Living Story…).
Hope it helps.
For me, I mostly do WvW, but also have fun with my guild and friends doing Dungeons (not only the overly farmed CoF), Guild Missions and doing random events (like a cooking contest, who could prepare the best menu xD)
Just remember that we aren’t paying a subscription for the game, yes there’s many things that the game needs to improve on, but they’ve been working to fix them and to also provide new content.
My advice would be, if you get bored of the game go do something else, you aren’t constantly paying for it so there is no need to “max out the money you payed”… The game will always be here even if you only log in for the monthly events, too much of something gets boring.
P. D. Sorry if the last part looks like I’m being rude, just a friendly advice.
Hi,
Don’t worry the tag is character bound, if you transfer to another server you will still be able to display the tag.
Hope this helps.
Hello, I don’t think it will get the ascended stats (been searching for information on this topic, since no one wants to “waste” their legendary). From what I’ve seen on a thread, the item will lose the Legendary status and it won’t upgrade.
Here’s the link to the thread, hope it helps:
http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/73054-to-those-with-legendaries-have-you-transmuted/
Hello,
First of all, welcome to Guild Wars 2. To be honest, one of the problems of being a new player in this game is that it can be confusing as first, just like it seems it happened to you.
My advice would be to complete 100% the map you are currently on, this will ensure that you have the right level to go to the next zone, as well as receiving a bonus chest for map completion (yay!). Also, try to gather the material nodes when possible, it’s always good to have those materials available for leveling your professions.
On the beggining you will be leveling slowly, it was intended to be that way, at higher levels the curve will remain the same, just be patient
For the gear part, well you can use the trading post to buy armor corresponding to your level, but well some things are overpriced… if you do gathering you can create some armor for yourself (here’s a great webpage with a gallery of each armor http://www.gw2armorgallery.com/index.html)
tl;dr
Complete the maps, gather materials, advance your crafting discipline, with a bit of exploration and a few more hours of playing you will get the hang of the game… Good luck.
