I do not care about the rewards, I do not care about PPT, I do not care about achievements. The only thing that I want are decent fights, that’s the reward for me in WvW.

If people only go there for rewards then I’m fine with them leaving, less queues for the ones that actually want to get into the fights. Yes the rewards should be better, please please please please stop giving us greens, but the reward in WvW itself should not be the shinies.

Reason: I tend to change my build/gear, I don’t want to commit myself to doing something like this time gated things if I’m not going to use it. After all I can do everything with exotics and it’s fairly easy to re-gear with them.

If memory serves me right, at reset there was no queue for EB. I remember this because it’s usually the first map that gets queued along with our BL, I arrived like 15 minutes late for reset and got a surprise seeing there was no queue

Of course, as time went on we eventually queued it, but at least for the start of the matchup there was no queue in EB.

Hmm not sure how I can explain it, contrary to what most people believe they would like it to become an e-sport, but that’s not their main goal right now.

They want to improve the PvP experience and that’s reasonable, to me it can become an e-sport, but still has a long way to go. Best we can do is provide as much feedback as possible to help them get there.

My Fractal level is 5. That’s nothing at all. I typically run level 2, though, because I PUG and that’s what I get. I don’t want to do stuff with Agony since I have no resistance yet.

Do not fear the Agony, the Agony is your friend, the Agony wants you.

But in all seriousness, you can perfectly do levels from 10-19 with no agony resistance. In fact I would recommend you to start doing them in order to learn which attacks to evade from bosses.

All of the “haha it was so easy” people should also keep in mind that it’s not good for the game when people who usually don’t do an activity get a big turnoff when they try it for the first time. I’m seeing folks who have never tried fractals try this story instance, and it’s not likely any will ever set foot in there again because of the poor experience they are having.

I saw plenty of people yesterday do that, when they appeared dead on LA they said:

“Screw this it is just too hard, I should had never come back to this”

So in turn I whispered them and asked them to try again with some of my friends, they did and we managed to beat it (I did this with like 3 different parties, can’t babysit everyone >.>)

Like others, I believe everyone expects to “zerg” everything, to play content that has minimum to no challenge and get plenty of rewards. I’m not directing this comment at you OP and I understand your frustration. Fractals are supposed to be part of the “end-game” content of GW2, it’s a place where coordination should be a must.

P.D. This post is not intended to be a “lawl I’m pro all bow to me” or “I’m truly generous and kind”, just that after seeing it and playing with them I’m afraid this is not a matter of difficulty. I would expect this story mode to be as hard as the first fractals.

I understand that making a huge update like this probably took up more dev time than normal and thus the T3 rekin and no unique rewards but it would be much better if it was something people could actually use, like maybe a potion which grants 100 crafting experience to any discipline of your choice, or just a huge bundle of T6 mats, which is used to craft Ascended stuff anyways. Heck, I don’t think anyone would mind an Ascended weapon chest of your choice.

People have been destroying their ascended materials because we have too many of them, they said somewhere on the forums that we will need a lot of this ones for something that is coming (ascended armor?).

Maybe this is their way to say “Guys… SAVE UP THOSE ASCENDED MATERIALS”?

I don’t remember well because I did that story instance kind of in a rush, but as far as I know those portals didn’t came from Scarlet.

I believe one of those portals spawned some Ascalonians… And well those guys are not in Scarlet’s army (I think, I’ll have to redo it to check carefully).

I already have plenty of dragonite ingots, empyreal stars, and bloodstone bricks. What I’m more interested in getting as a meta reward are the deldrimor ingots, spiritwood planks, electrum ingots, elonian leather squares and bolts of damask. Now that in my opinion, are some rewards worth going for.

I played GW1 from the beginning, I was excited about the idea of an Abaddon fractal… but we are not yet ready for something based on the Gods.

After all the only way I can see all the updates of this year are like some sort of preparation for the “real version” of GW2, I voted for the Reactor because I don’t want them to do anything with the Gods yet (given how they’re still working on the core of the game).

Call me selfish or whatever, but I would rather like them to expand on GW2 lore rather to go back to something that’s already known (Yes Evonlovers, I know that we also have plenty of information about the reactor). However, if it was something about unfinished stories from GW1 (Scepter of Orr, Murssats, White Mantle to name a few)… well that’s a whole different story…

My guard carries Mace, Hammer, Greatsword, Staff, Sceptre, Torch, Shield, and Longsword….all used for different parts of different fractals and dungeons depending on need by the party (who I am partied with and what they bring to the table).

Something like this would actually be fun and force people to change up their builds / weapons more.

I had the hardest time convincing one of my guildmates to simply take different Skills based on different fights within fractals and not just run with his default set!

Pffft no Sword and Focus on inventory? Come back when you actually have all weapons brah, 1337 groups won’t take you seriouslee

They’re both true. Steal resides in the F1 spot, and when it is used, it takes up only the F1 key. A thief’s skill bar is intact, and steal is unavailable until the skill is used.

I always thought that F1 skill was considered a bundle, so the only way to actually gain a benefit from that trait is by branching every foe in your path? Well guess I could get an ele to help me with a conjure >.>

Every fractal you enter above fractal level 30 will have a special Mistlock Instability which will add new difficulties to that level, or change the way you and your teammates play within it.

If they make them harder or change the mechanics it would be amazing, been running the same fractals for quite some months now (change the routine)

On the wiki the “Environmental Weapon” page says:
Thieves have the steal attack, which provides them with a skill to use depending on the target.

Meanwhile the “Improvisation” trait says:
Note: Steal is not a bundle; the damage bonus from this trait affects found items that replace the weapon skill bar such as Conjures and Banners.

… Which one is true then?

Guesting because of party (game is buggy with parties when not on same server for dungeons also because overflows). Fractals still works different party-wise than other dungeons. I really am not sure how its works these days, been a while. Still you can’t play with EU servers even for fractals if this OP or you are EU.

LFG is useless. Not many know how to use it in TC, or don’t care, or make that logical leap to knowing I post there and people know a party is being formed for x content.

The LFG tool is not fluid enough to be used properly just saying. You literally need to open it up to see what parties are available. It could be less detached from the game, by say, going to an npc/animated bulletin board (like an airport arrival/departure screen? Too bad GW 2 isn’t that Sci-fi genre wise) or a message that pops up in your chat window (one does but its short lived and possibly drowned out by map/etc), or a hint bubble (every map change (toggle-able) "parties are available. hit “Y” to find the LFG tool and find content to join."

I actually like it because I know what I’m getting into, if I want to do a speed clear because I’m short on time I’ll prefer to get into the group “Only 1337 warrs berserk gear check no nubs luuuulz”.

Otherwise I’ll just pick any group that I find, you do not need to guest since all the dungeons are multi-server (of course, if you are NA you can’t party with EU). Only problem in fractals is that if you opened the instance you can’t change characters.

My guild will be doing progression runs for all levels this week, if anyone needs to progress to a specific level send me a PM and we’ll try to form a party

I remember that once I completed a fractal lvl 42 with 2 necros, 1 mesmer, 1 ranger and 1 engineer… It was quite interesting…

Although to be honest the run went quite well and in part I think we had to thank the fact that we didn’t got any “hard” fractals (like ones that need reflects or something like that).

Yeah I believe there will be a lot of people that will try them out now, with no AR I think you can do levels from 1-19 (but be careful with the agony on levels +10).

Don’t be afraid of them, if you need help just whisper me in-game ;D

That’s what I’m most excited about, I really liked Mai Trin and her fight, it’s a shame they didn’t used her for more updates before jailing her, she was really cool

Not exactly.
Leveling up fractal levels was one of the few things that you could replay with alts.
It also sounds like the boss reward chest is going from daily per char to daily per account.

Oh well the reward chest per account sucks.

Then I was totally wrong with alts, I thought people wouldn’t like to run that many fractals per character, given that if you want to take your Ranger (for example) to a specific fight you don’t have to be penalized by level.

… But there’s not much difference rewards wise if you are level 30 compared to level 50, what you’re missing out is some additional fractal relics, as well as being able to do more fractals for the chest (5 times given the difficulty scale) but that’s time consuming as hell.

If you like challenges then you’ll have more progression now, which will give you more of what you like (at least that’s what the release notes say). Altoholics will be pleased with this change since you don’t have to grind to 50 with 8 characters.

Although I do agree that getting to 50 takes some time and it would had been nice to get something from it. Btw how come this didn’t bothered people before?

Wow, just wow. So rather than help someone, you would just run past them ? Amazing. See ArenaNet. This is the kind of player you are creating by insisting that the only way to complete something is to zerg it.

I dont mind hard content, I dont mind dying. However this zerg mentality where the only way to do something is to run around aimlessly is killing the game for me. I had high hopes for this event, I was looking forward to it.

lol don’t worry, I’m still and always have revived as many people as I can, but as I said in this kind of events sometimes you can’t stop to revive others because you’re just placing a big red target icon on your head.

Sometimes the option is not available and they have to waypoint back (try to revive someone as a non-thief with a group of foes near them), it also happens on some of the world events but people expect others to revive them while the boss is still at 95% health and they can perfectly run back to the fight…

And just in case I’m talking about the defeated state, not downed mode… Best of luck to anyone doing the event!

I have seen some Tengu near some of the events, there was even a Tengu fighting on one (I believe it’s one that starts south of the tower).

However, I can’t remember if they were there before, but at least it’s good to see that they are aware of this problem ^^

Um… As far as I know ascended are not meant to be a huge increase in stats and in any case the problem with condition in the game is not the damage, it’s the number of stacks that you can place on a foe, kind of renders it useless to have a party with 2+ condition stackers.

Fine maybe they can increase the damage of the bleeds but it won’t be increased for a lot. But hey look on the bright side, that +2 bleed damage will surely make foes drop faster ;D

^ I really want to get a “battle mage” character and I made a Sylvari elementalist for that… Seriously those shoulders are such a let down they look huge on a Sylvari, wish they get reduced a bit…

Who were the bad guys for the Zephyrites? The Sky Pirates. Who makes up the Aetherblades? The Sky Pirates augmented with Inquest technology. That is how the Zephyrite arc is connected to Scarlet. She took the Sky Pirates and hooked them up with better gear to make a more dangerous organization.

Wait what? From what I remember the Sky Pirates and the Aetherblades have always been the same organization. Remember the Aetherblade Retreat Dungeon? Remember that at the final fight there was some ships that we had to blow up?

Well down below the Zephyr Sanctum there was a couple of this crashed ships, the Aetherblades ships, this guys were a pain even before the Zephyrites even bothered to come to trade.

I would believe that their connection with the Zephyrites comes from wanting to retrieve their treasures from those ships, and well since they are “Pirates” a little plundering from the Zephyrites goods will come in handy.

Ranger with pets makes it a breeze to do PvE content, would definitely go with that one.

I think they did this before with the Tequatl Rising update, my guess is that they don’t want to spoil it and wants us to experience it first in-game.
