Guerreros de la Ultima Alianza [GDUA]
#TeamKiel #TeamPrecipice
Maybe as to keep with her “Hero” portrait; she wants to do something that will impact the current world, by cleansing the chaotic energies and aid the Asura nearby? At least that’s what I believe is her goal.
I’m also wondering why should Evon care about the “Human Gods”, I mean I read around there that he is from the Flame Legion… I don’t really see the connection between the fractals and both candidates…
DUDE stop taking those precursors away from me!!!
Seriously you’re getting them all, with the increasing Diminishing Returns that may account seems to get per day I’ll never be able to obtain the precursor from the Mystic Toilet… boy am I glad that they’re adding a new way to obtain them later on T_T
As of today (haven’t attempted to use the Forge in some months now) I have dumped 400 rares and 50 exotic greatswords… one day… one day…
I’d like to hijack this thread cause i got a question that goes in the same direction.
Everyones like “CoF is the best way to make money”…but what’s the second best way? I hate this dungeon with a fiery passion cause i’ve been there too often and finding groups is always annoying, anyway..
I’d like to know what’s really the best way to make solo money. Lodestones farming? Events?
I’m afraid that I can’t really say which is the best way to make gold, CoF is only the simplest way to make money in the game, the first path is way too easy and the drops are more profitable than in other places.
However there are many ways to make gold, it might not be as fast as CoF but still you can get some decent gold from them, I tend to do a bit of everything during the week:
- Crucible of Eternity runs: This dungeon is very easy to do and can be done really fast if you know what to do. There’s also a chance to obtain Charged Cores/Lodestones which sell quite well on the TP. There are also some easy ones like AC, TA, SE and HotW… althought the bosses in HotW are more like damage sponges…
- See image: There are many benefits to gathering the materials, if you have a stock of materials you’ll be prepared in case they suddenly rise in price, avoiding you to have to farm them later on due to the high cost. Of course it’s not like you must have 250 of everything but it’s good to have some available.
Also you can get other items like gems and unidentified dyes, it’s pretty random but you might sometimes even get rare dyes from it which sell well.
- Do world events and get into a farming group for areas, each boss provides a rare item which is rather a quick ~20 silver (minimum) or 0-3 ectos (~20 silver each). You can also farm for some hard to get materials (I believe from T4 onwards there is some profit to sell them, at least for me I don’t get many of this materials unless I go straight to farm them :o ).
- Play with the Trading Post: This is more like a trial/error process, I have 0 knowledge about economics but still I’m able to get some gold from selling items. Keep an eye on announcements in case that they detail that we’ll be returning to a zone (like what happened with Karka Shell for the previous Southsun event), take a look at the best selling items and see if you can craft something that is selling well on the TP (like dungeon accessories which are available only from a recipe).
Thanks for the in-depth response!
I haven’t tried WvWvW yet, but I do plan to give it a shot, so let’s not discount Thief just yet.
Apart from that, I’ve tried necro and ele (albeit at low levels) and their playstyle didn’t quiet suit me. So far I’m in love with the SB and by that logic, I owe it to myself to give Ranger a shot as well.
So I guess I’ll delete either the necro or the ele and create a Ranger after I’ve tried Warrior.
Here’s to hoping that I finally have my main finalised before the upcoming long weekend
Hmm to me Ranger would be the best suited for you, they’re great for support and with the pets they can solo a lot of things.
PS: The only profession I don’t see myself playing is the Engineer and from the responses I’ve gotten till now, Mesmer seems out too.
Don’t rule them out just yet, try them and see how they play. If you plan to do some PvP it’s good to have an idea of what the other classes can do.
Even so at first I didn’t wanted to play a Guardian, was decided to start with an Elementalist. But then when the game released I made a Guardian just for the heck of it… And well somehow it ended up as my main >.>
That’s the 2nd time I’ve seen someone get Dusk using a Molten Greatsword.
I smell something.
Don’t worry I’m afraid it’s still RNG, tried with 40 of those CoF swords and got nothing T_T
Yup that’s the idea, I honestly hope that the amount of CoF running lowers with this patch, that way people will finally understand that there are other ways to make gold instead of repeating a certain path.
Just in case, remember that you’ll only get that 1-3 gold once per day, not every run.
Will you place 15 champions in every dungeon path with the exception of CoF p1 in order to kill the farm? Pleeeeeeeease?
Or well just demote every foe to veteran, also works.
Hmm can’t really find when it ends, but by looking at previous updates:
- This will at the very least last 2 weeks, since it’s their new cycle of updates.
- Generally it begins with a sort of festival the first two weeks of the month, which then they introduce a new part for the last 2 weeks.
So you might be able to play this new content, but who knows let’s just wait to see more information about it.
Well Ascended gear is coming and current Celestial gear is exotic… so yeah if you want the best stats you will have to replace it.
My suggestion would be to wait, I also want to get a Celestial set for my Elementalist but in the meantime I’m trying to get as many Charged Quartz as possible. I want to see how they implement the magic find replacement and the stats of the new Ascended gear before I’m forced to throw a good set of exotic gear.
People like you two are the reason why every kid gets a “participation trophy”….
Respect is earned, sportsmanship is for sports or something that would at the very least qualify as such. Maybe you should go play My Little Pony’s Pink Palace of Periwinkles if you want everyone to be nice and butthug each other….That does not mean be a kitten to be a kitten, but also does not mean cry for the sake of crying, then tryng to apply real life morals to a game.
Forums? We griping about random text on a wall from random people?! That gets your goat? Good luck in life kid….
lol Savannah you always manage to get me a laugh or two xD
Now cmon people we’re only a few hours away from ending this matchup, let’s enjoy the rest of it. But seriously in regards to the last posts I don’t believe that there is “sportsmanship” in an online video game, or do you expect me to go running past a huge enemy zerg and get greeted with /bows and /claps??
Hello,
Well to upgrade from 60 to 80 a nice start would be to use the greens that you get from doing events/dungeons. It should give you a decent stat boost even for that quality, work your way to the top.
Also you can get the best gear from many ways:
“Cheapest” would be to get it from a karma vendor from any of the Temples in Orr, note that the vendors sell different types of armor and trinkets (stats). Just to give an example here’s the Grenth vendor (you can browse the armor sets on the table that is at the end of the page): http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Keeper_Jonez_Deadrun
You can also craft them, although if you aim for an exotic version you’ll need some ectos and T6 crafting materials.
If you do a lot of WvW you can turn in some Badges of Honor in order to get exotic gear, there isn’t that much to do with this Badges and the vendor has some good stat combinations: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Armor_Master
Best of luck.
I honestly don’t get why most of the community wants to rush the idea of creating something Canthan themed or an expansion that gets us there, we’re not even done with Kryta and now everyone wants to move to the next continent.
I mean don’t get me wrong I loved GW Factions it was a great expansion; but still everyone says that if they don’t remake the Canthan district people will rage.
Seriously as of now there isn’t anything Canthan in the game and you don’t see posts everyday about it, if they place something else in there we’ll be in the same state, with no Canthan influence so I don’t see the reason to rage.
Keep calm people and stop grabbing your pitchforks and torches everytime you see something like this.
TL;DR
Experiment yourself with different builds, check some online and see what they try to aim, it really much depends on how you like to play.
My biggest tip would be: Play with what you like, not what others like or force you to run.
This is a site that I use for “theorycrafting”: http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/
For guides to builds: http://intothemists.com/guides/
Also if you want you can post here what you like to run and I’ll try (focus on try) to make a cool build.
End TL;DR
Well it all depends, I can’t really give you a more specific explanation unless I know what is your play style/profession.
Still, generally I try to do a mix of the following stats (the number is the amount I try to achieve):
- Power: Don’t really care much about this one since it’s everywhere, something around 2500 would be okay to dish some big numbers.
- Toughness: From what I’ve seen having something near 1.8k or 2k toughness still makes you a bit squishy (but maybe it’s because I only get that with thief or mesmer?), I usually tend to be near 2.3k but as what happens with “Power” there are lots of combinations that include it.
- Vitality: As you can tell this is an important stat because conditions bypass armor, I would say that with 18k it’s pretty decent (there are some professions that have something like this as base HP, like necro and warrior so I don’t have to worry much about gearing them some vitality).
- Precision and critical damage: If you want to hit hard you need both, having something around 40% critical chance and 30% critical damage can make some increases, the more the merrier. Although if you aim for high critical chance it means that you need a lot of precision, cutting you off from some other stats.
- Condition damage: I only like to run this if I can place Bleeding and Poison/Confusion, maybe Burning also. Still professions like Guardian don’t have that many conditions (but their Burning hits hard) and have to acquire it from other sources (Sigils are a cheap one), I only run condition damage if I can benefit from it by placing many damaging conditions, otherwise I go for more critical/power. My aim would be to start with something like 600 (or whatever number that you get by only getting Condition Damage gear, not accesories).
- Healing power: I haven’t really tested this but I’ve seen that healing power doesn’t scales too well as one might think, having 1k of it isn’t much of an increase to healing if you had something like 400. I avoid this unless I’m going for a more supportive build that can pop multiple heals.
- Sigils and runes: That pretty much depends on the play style, although I believe a fairly common ones would be Sigil of Force, Superior Runes of Melandru and Sigil of Accuracy.
- Ascendant jewelry: My only tip for this is: DO NOT buy it unless you are confident with your build, test it with exotic accessories before getting the ascended ones. This is just to avoid wasting those Laurels, easiest way to gear up for ascended is (at least worked for me):
1. Rings: Drops from fractals, don’t buy them.
2. Amulet: Purchase from laurel merchant in WvW for 20 Laurels and 250 Badges of Honor.
3. Accesories: Purchase from Guild Commendation Trader for 5 Gold and 12 Guild Commendations.
4. Back piece: It’s grindy but you can get the Prototype Fractal Capacitator, plus has a nice animation :o
Best of luck, feel free to correct me if I’m wrong somewhere ^^
I say this from experience… I wasn’t always known as Esplen.3940.
What secrets are you hiding Mr. E???
Ex. Do two Sigils of the Night stack?
GW2Wiki has this to offer:
Static bonuses stack with themselves when used on dual-wielded weapons, except for Superior Sigil of Force (only +5% bonus to damage) and Superior Sigil of Accuracy (only +5% bonus to crit chance).
-
I would like to assume that it means the answer is yes, Sigils of the Night stack, but I’ve come across several threads now (on other sites) that seem to suggest otherwise. Is the wiki information still quite accurate? Do two sigils of the night give +20% to all damage at night?
I believe that what they are trying to say is that you can only use different types of static bonuses, for example:
If you use a Sigil of Force on the main hand and an Acurracy one for the off-hand, this 2 sigils won’t stack and you’ll have both the +5% damage and the +5% critical chance.
However, if you are using a Sigil of Force for both the main hand and off-hand, you won’t gain a +10% to damage because sigils that give static bonuses stack with each other.
So in short, I don’t think that 2 Sigils of the night will give you a +20% damage, only 1 will work.
Wow. I don’t know why you want it to be so expensive and penalizing. I honestly wonder how many people would bother with it at that point.
It seems to me that coding “Human Cultural Armor A” -> “Charr Cultural Armor A” and/or “Human Personal Quest Choice A” -> “Charr Personal Quest Choice A” wouldn’t be that difficult.
I can understand some level of discouragement to inhibit ‘abuse’, but if it’s too detrimental it’ll become a mostly unused service likely only purchased by people who have soulbound items like legendaries they don’t want to lose.
But then how about this title?
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fashion
By making the cultural armor change to the new one (which we all agree would be the logical thing to do) I can get this title way cheaper by just buying this item 4 times. Next time you see everyone will have “The Emperor” title.
^ Yes Aurora’s Remains is one of the most missed areas, for me the one that I missed (can only access through an event) is Calx’s Hideout:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Calx's_Hideout
Best of luck.
I doubt Evon’s interest in the past isn’t entirely…religious.
Coming soon, godly weapons, infused with the harvested power of the gods themselves!!!!
(available as a rare drop from rich godly coffers, for sale on any black lion trading company near you)..
In that case they would be a very rare drop from Black Lion chests, Devon can use the discount on the Black Lion keys in his favor to earn gazillions of gold/gems.
It saddens me that the vote will be a matter of which fractal we want to unlock and which 4 week bonus we prefer, rather than about the characters involved and the direction of the living story.
The chance to unlock a peek at some key moments in Tyrian backstory is overshadowing the fact that we’re shaping Tyrian nowstory.
Please fix that ANet. Please make sure the narrative repercussions of either character getting on the council are foreshadowed well before voting starts. This is the first time you’re giving the players a chance to influence the living story in a direct way, it’s a milestone in the living story and Guild Wars 2 and it’s discouraging to think you guys felt that the story itself wouldn’t be incentive enough for players.
It’s not that we don’t like the story, I will place my vote for the one I think is the best for us later on (I don’t trust Evon, we want to make a trading arrangement with the Zephyrites… Evon only cares about the profit that comes with them).
The thing is that this are elections, there have to be some promises in order to persuade the weak voters, buying them by just giving a bunch of shiiiiiinies.
Evon knows that he wouldn’t win without giving us something as epic as the Abaddon fractal, which makes me think about what Anthony said:
“I doubt Evon’s interest in the past isn’t entirely…religious.”
I just hope that in the future we can get the other option, I can’t decide which of the 2 options to pick
1. Abaddon: GODS, nuff said.
2. Reactor: It intrigues me to know what happened there, what were the Inquest using to release such chaotic energies?Seriously Anet please, let us have the second one some time in the future
YOU ARE MY HERO. I love that advert! That little girl is a legend!
Thank you kind sir, she truly deserves some love ^^
Hello and welcome to GW2, I’ll try to answer using some WoW references for playstyles (haven’t gone too far on RIFT).
1) I hear ranger is pretty weak overall, but then theres few that are true to it saying they’re strong if played right. Is this not true for every profession? As in every mmo? Although there is always going to be that one bit of extra strength another class has.
Yes this happens for every profession, it’s true there are some that DPS way faster than others (warrior slizzzzing hehe) but in the end if you are playing right it’s what matters.
One thing that I always try to remember is that there is no DPS meter here, there are no DPS races to show off how much damage you can deal or how well you can do a skill rotation.
Just play the way that you want, Rangers can pop some good damage if built for that purpose (as everyone), so stick with what you like.
2) Is it possible for someone to make a brief outline of what classes have what kind of playstyles (kudos to anyone who can relate it as close as possible to rift/wow specs/classes). This would help me get an understanding of where to start & go from there.
- Elementalist: Mage (Has a bit of every spec), resto shaman for water heals?.
- Guardian: Paladin (Has a bit of every spec), maybe also a bit of discipline priest since we have a lot of blocks/damage mitigation.
- Necromancer: Affliction warlock (conditions), demonology (minion master), destruction (power builds).
- Ranger: Huntard.
- Warrior: Probably a more DPS focused warrior of WoW, something like Arms (I don’t really see that many… “tanky” warriors in here).
- Thief: Rogue.
- Engineer and Mesmer: Now this 2 are tough ones, honestly I can’t see a relation to this classes since they are just very unique in their playstyles.
I may have more so if your a person who likes to answer these feel free to watch this thread
Thanks in advance =)
You’re welcome, there’s a lot of people in here eager to help.
Edit: Forgot thief.

I just hope that in the future we can get the other option, I can’t decide which of the 2 options to pick
1. Abaddon: GODS, nuff said.
2. Reactor: It intrigues me to know what happened there, what were the Inquest using to release such chaotic energies?
Seriously Anet please, let us have the second one some time in the future
Not only are we using a dead dragon’s bits but I doubt they all came in similar sizes originally. That means they pain-stakingly carved up the remains.
Dude cmon don’t make it worse on me T_T
Yeah I also have every weapon, just in case I need to change to something more useful for that situation.
I have changed my support build because previously I went with staff + mace/shield, focusing on boon duration and all soldier’s gear, obviously this meant 0 damage but I could pop perma might and was hard to kill.
Now that I’m focusing on getting some more damage (knight gear, sentinel weapons, berserker + valkyrie trinkets) I normally run:
- Mace/Torch for heals, block, condition removal and AoE damage.
- Scepter/Focus for damage, regeneration, blind, more condition removal and 3 blocks.
I’m still testing it, but so far it’s been great. Can still pop a lot of might due to criticals, lots of condition removal and can finally see some nice numbers in damage
So… We’re actually using pieces of Glint in order to use this aspects? My God I’m using a dead dragon >.<
Please Anet keep doing this, maybe even place another achievement on the JP for each borderland.
This is just getting old and boring, what about the people that don’t like to PvE? Should they also spam the forums asking for the removal of every achievement or that they should be placed in WvW?
If you are having that much trouble to get there try going in non-prime hours, at least for our server there is 0 (yes, ZERO) coverage at night. It’s a PvP zone after all so you shouldn’t expect everyone to be kind when they see enemies (there are no rules in PvP).
Holy cheezus
I managed to read it all and I’m afraid to tell you some things that might be bad news for you:
1. The previous dungeons will be coming back as a fractal, with the difficulty/length being reduced to be able to place it as a fractal.
2. Even with the dungeons returning, the achievements and the special rewards (like the Molten Jetpack) won’t be coming back.
Much like everyone else, we would love to have everything being permanent, but this topic has been raised way too many times in this forums… We’ll see how this goes when they bring back those dungeons, just don’t get your hopes real high since there’s always going to be temporary content.
Sorry to be the hopes crasher, oh and if I’m wrong somewhere with this information please feel free to correct me.
Everyone wanted to be able to jump in GW2 due to the lack of it in GW1, this is their way to tell you: SUFFER!!!
Have you guys looked at the full zoomed out map of Tyria? My guess is: until we will have all of it filled with explorable zones, we wont see any new continent/expansion.
The living story opens little by little the whole map. It is very possible that the other teams Colin’s talking about are assigned to develop different zones which will be added to the game though the living story.
This is something that I like, I’m eager to see how the rest of the zones become available and the impact that it makes in the world. For example:
Imagine that we start pushing north (even more from what the Pact is already trying to do) in order to beat the hell out of Jormag. With the Living Story we can fight our way through his minions, conquering places lost to the Icebrood and beating his champions (maybe something as awesome as the Dragonspawn fight from the books
), to which that story arc will finish with the defeat of Jormag.
This type of story arc will surely make the world change, opening new zones and enemies. Even better, our deeds will feel more heroic than just culling some crazed Karkas or a bunch of pirates (not that I’m against any of this battles, just saying fighting dragon minions are waaaaaaay cooler), with this the opening of Cantha/Elona will be truly epic.
I think we still have more to see from this game and it’s getting there. I really wish they try to do something like this, give us story arcs that involve opening new zones and fight some epic bosses (Dragons plzzz
), just give them some time to experiment with the Living Story and most importantly let’s keep the feedback going!!
P.D. I’m not a Dragon lover in any way.
Would be best to have a different set for medium and light armor (let’s wait for the patch and hopefully in the future this section will be expanded)… But I’m actually happy for this because I can finally make my Elementalist look something like a “warmage”
Closest would be guardian, but the spells don’t look as magical as the Elementalist…
I don’t really see much of a problem to this ranks, the game isn’t even a year old and we still have plenty of time to get to the last rank (even as casuals). It gives even more prestige to show the Dragon emote if you know that it’s something that can’t be achieved in just a few months.
Just take your time…. you’ll get there eventually.
Edit: Interesting (not sure who it is or how close), it seems someone is really close to get to the last rank.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/PvP_Rank
“As of June 2013, the highest rank bracket currently achieved by a player is Phoenix (70-79).”
(edited by ghost.3208)
+1 to that… they really need to put some kitten Streak-Breaker into their code.
They basically already have with all the Diminishing Returns on farming everything… too bad they didn’t extend the same effort towards those people who are continually UNLUCKY, esp with the Forge. (Y’know, there used to be a Title in GW1 for that…. hmm, I wonder why there isn’t one here?)
That would be way too easy for me to achieve… ~300 rares and 20 exotics… not a single precursor… I seriously don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
Maybe I should stock all this rares and then use them all at the same time? Because buying 20-30 at a time has gotten me nowhere T_T In fact please Anet make that Unlucky title happen so that I may get more points in the upcoming patch!
Edit: Just in case, I know that since it’s RNG I won’t get any higher chances of using them at the same time… but at least it won’t be as depressing.
But then the same should apply for players that only like to do PvP, it’s great that now I can do my dailies in rather sPvP or in WvW… but still for all these new events I’m forced to go to LA in order to experience them fully.
Hell even if you want a legendary you are forced to do PvE content (dungeon tokens), I like both types of contents but my point is that the PvP only players also have the same problems as you do. At least the Obsidian Sanctum got into a separate map but I’m afraid this won’t make any changes, you’ll have to fight players in some way since it’s still a PvP zone.
Well that page has been updated (or so I believe, tried yesterday but the image took me nowhere):
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/july-09-2013/
Well I head there with a group of friends and we end up with a decent amount of materials, sometimes rare items. The loot isn’t that great (lots of blues/greens) but all those mats make up for it.
Yay for us I guess?
This is like the ultimate ignorant casual post.
Lovely! Keep it up!
How is it ignorant? OP asked if anyone is still there farming, to which I replied with what I do with some friends and our results.
Oh I should had bashed Anet for destroying all the farming places in Orr? Sorry my bad.

Sea of Sorrows Scavenger Hunt—Begins June 25
In this new permanent content, retrace the steps of Cobiah Marriner. Twelve plaques have been set up to honor the history of the city and its founder. You can find clues to the plaques’ locations in Sea of Sorrows. Complete the scavenger hunt to earn five skill points.ya their alredy got a scavenger hunt and you get a wate for it …….wate for it……. 5 of the greatest itoms in the world…..SKILL POINTS!!!!! omg yes we have been answered we have a scavenger hunt that rewards the players. (player chimes in) but what about precursors. ahh yes those itoms that everyone wants and needs for a legendary. well WvW you have a chance to get them and Zermous is always likely to give you one and also you can go fight dragons to get a chance to get one.
and yes I’m at 2.5k hours and still nothing i clock in everyday for 3-12 hours in hopes I can finally get mine.Seriously? You are still hoping that you’ll get the precursor just for logging in and killing a few foes?
I suggest that you find other ways to obtain them instead of pure luck, give Zommoros items or save the gold for it, getting gold or mats is already incredibly easy.
Boy, in some way I’ll just ask a developer to mail you one just to stop looking at this much whining.
LoL i have been on this legendary quest/hunt/grind since October i keep track of all post about Legendary changing legendary s and even the Potential Scavenger hunt. there are people like myself that play this game and dont receave anything for their hard work and dedication. also i have dumped a lot of Rares and Exaudics into the forge for that 1 lottery Ticket still not luck and i decided i will not keep track of the attempts because If i did i would have quit the game. don’t get me wrong i love this game i even pursed the collectors edition because i loved Gw1. and now because of 8 Months of Grinding/RNG/Luck I am taking a break from this Horrible RNG Legendary Troll. and i noticed, that i had stated I have played this game for 25k hours what i meant to say was 2.5k hours.
All I want is for the Legendary to be obtained as a Reward to yourself not a Luck based or Trading post manipulation. Keep the components as is with the Gifts but allow us to have a legendary Personal story Quest line that is challenging and rewarding.
I also have the same problem, I have 0 luck in getting the freaking precursor even tho I spend all my dungeon tokens to exchange for exotics and save all the rares that happen to drop (with eventually buying some).
I actually meant what I said, save the money and buy the precursor. After months of not getting anything I saved the gold and bought it directly, but still I do agree that there must be some way to obtain it rather than Mystic Toilet.

Dagger – Bloodlust
Optional 2nd warhorn – 2nd copy of Bloodlustrather than 2 bloodlust sigils why not use an on crit or weapon swap sigil. its really a waste of a sigil slot l
^ You can improve damage by replacing that
I haven’t fully tested my necro (update goes live on work week -_-) but yesterday I was playing with my guardian in PvP and got incredibly roflstomped by a necro. They’re amazing now from what I’ve been able to tinker, Lich Form’s #1 Skill dealt a ton of damage to me.
IT’S MADNESS I TELL YOU MADNESS!!
I’ll update when I have played it a bit more, but I can tell you that we received some love in this patch ;D
Guys… seriously you should keep an eye on the other threads in the forums or at least for the Dev Tracker one. This topic has been discussed countless of times, I hope this helps to give you guys some information/relief for the time being (since you know, there is no ETA for this):
This is not completely what people are talking about in this thread, they are re-releasing a fraction of some of the content, most of it will still remain swept under the rug and forgotten about, except by players that never got a shot at the FULL events.
I get your point and I assure you that I would also like to have all this content permanent, with something like the Scrying Pool from GW1 which was used to access the previously done missions. But still this is part of the “Living Story”, we can’t have everything stay.
It would be weird that after beating the Molten Alliance their facilities and sonic periscopes would still be around. Supposedly this is used to make the open world more dynamic, with the events making changes in the zones… Sadly I don’t think new players will be able experience all the previous chapters…

Here someone proposed the idea of having a Historian so that new players can do the previous dungeons, to which Colin replied: In the future, you’ll see certain types of content that was part of larger story experiences be updated to work within the fractals dungeon and return there where it makes sense to do so.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/What-happened-with-phase-2-of-dungeons/page/2
And just in case I’m adding this one since he comments about the dungeons updates/reward system: We’ll be continuing to permanently update our dungeons and rewards for dungeons this year and beyond, these updates will be part of living world releases in the future as well as we expand the scope of living world releases to include more permanent updates to the game.
So… seems like we will just have to wait. To give my point of view about this temporary content, I like it because they can use them to get feedback about the dungeons, which in the future will mean updates to the current ones and a better living story. If something goes wrong (like Southsun) they don’t have to worry about it because it won’t be permanent, they can learn from what happened there and improve.
Phew, tl;dr, yes some of the previous content will be coming back, seems like as part of a fractal dungeon.
P.D. I’m aware this thread was to know each other’s thoughts, but well most are concerned about not being able to play the previous dungeons. Oh and I’m not a Colin stalker >.<
Yeah anet decided they disliked people who die in dungeons so they decided if you die you cant have fun and rejoin instead you can either be resurrected or wait ’til the whole party is wiped.
Dislike people who die? Well sure let’s just make the game a dying fest and remove the probability to break your armor when dying…
No it was made this way to encourage people to follow a fight mechanic or actually become better, learning when to dodge, block, rez your allies and so on… Although I’m really not sure if you were being sarcastic >.<
Hi, taken from the event’s page on the GW2 site, we still have like 2 weeks:
“New Story Dungeon: Aetherblade Retreat – June 25-July 9”
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/june-25-2013/
Hope it helps.
we’ve seen folks feedback and are adjusting that strategy to include a much larger mix of permanent updates going forward.
Dungeons will be part of this strategy, living world teams will be doing work on our permanent dungeons rather than them being ignored,
This is the best news I heard since launch.
This is also my favorite part, honestly I didn’t read all the thread (tried to but the amount of whining is too kitten high) but there’s a reason I like the living story and it’s temporary content.
This is the best way to test things. After all the content, dungeons and stories that they have given us with the living story they have a pretty solid amount of feedback. Just based on the forums (sadly too many complainers) they know everyone loved the F&F dungeon, hated the SSC and some mini-games, and also loved the way the current story is showed (Marjory cutscene).
Give them time folks, they’ve been providing us with updates through this months and I’m sure that we’ll get our revamped dungeons and rewards. Yes it seems that we’ve been ignored on the subject, but I prefer that they take their time to analyze the feedback and give us some quality work later.
It’s friday!! Reeeeeeeset night! It’s been fun SF and DR, we will miss you! But I’m sure we’ll meet again! I wish lots of fun for you in the next match up! <3 <3 <3 <3
Come on now… hugs…!
I’m going to miss all this gifs T_T
Yes it is now working for me, the tabs didn’t displayed well before.
Thanks!!
Holy when did the thread became a gif fight
So trying to get back on topic (hopefully someone can post an in-game one
)…
Wow people seriously just chill, it’s still just an idea and I’m sure that they’re figuring out a way to provide this reward without making everyone feel that they must go to the #1 server (I don’t think they would like that)…
For those of you who might know me i like to have some fun in tkitten JP. chase some people down till they decide to duel when im bored. cause a little havoc here and there with some guildies. but when someone finally challenges tto a duel i always accept. now these guys are a bunch of [insert expletive] and im calling you out. i tried partying with you to ask for a duel but got nothing. {JEDI], [GDUA]
There’s some of us in GDUA that like to duel, we even host an inner tournament in the guild, but well you just happened to have found our mindless killers :o
Liking this matchup, fun fights everywhere. Hope to see more coming and I’m really glad that we’re not getting a spam of AC’s on every camp/tower/keep
