Those runes are just making the game easier and that’s about it. Its not like they were " omfg so OP, I lost cuz dis guy haz vamp runes"
It just allows you to faceroll instead of actually playing carefully. . Although they can be exploited by using the F skills while in mistform. I don’t think it was intended.
People still don’t understand that this game is balanced around passives. There is passive protection/invul to counter passive damage. ( defy pain vs air/fire)
There is passive stability to counter passive CC. ( last stand vs reaper’s prot)
There is passive condi clear to counter passive condi application. ( IP vs shadows embrace)
Etc… This game will never be 100% about skill . This is not mortal kombat where you dodge attacks and then counterattack.
The only passives that should never be dominating are the AI passives cuz in that case it becomes player vs AI. Every other passive is fine imo. If you don’t like passives then I don’t know why you are even playing this game.
“High RNG damage” lol, you guys probably forgot that engineers exist and have a passive trait called Incendiery Powder and that does more dmg than air/fire combined together.
Same with guard’s burn on block and terror necro that fears you and deals damage whenever you CC them.
If you gonna cry about air/fire then you will also have to cry about many other things.

Totally incorrect. The game is defined by no skill stealth spikes fro zerker classes who jump someone out of stealth and press 2 buttons and get dem fire and air procs.
And i play necro which cannot use cele but can abuse fire and air. So i am not biassed.
you are biased if you play necro. Cuz necros get focused all the time and then just die unless they have an amazing team.
Cele is still stronger, the only reason zerkers are even viable its because its a team game. So 2 people can easely spike some1 down before help arrives. Cele builds are still the best builds cuz they have damage and survivability at the same time.

Then sure the matchmaking works fine if you think that way. You might aswell start the game 3v5 for a better challenge and claim that you’re having fun.
Seriously man.. if it wasent for the ’’expansion’’ people would already quit this game long time ago, and they will do so , if the expansion sucks.
The PvP in this game is dead so it dosent have a working matchmaking system because there is nobody near that MMR range playing at the same time so they just put solo Q vs premade.
And even if they put high MMR solo Q’ers vs high MMR premade, the premade will still win 9 times out if 10 unless they are not in TS and playing some random troll builds.
So the whole matchmaking system is a fail. Not only in theory but also in game.
acro thief is part of low risk high rewards builds category imo. I think its a good change. Even though the current panic strike vamp rune build is easier to play, I still think S/D thief or acro thief in general is cancer and promotes boring passive gameplay that relies on random dodging and hoping to proc air/fire at the right moment to deal enough DPS.
Acro nerf is good imo.
Some people really want to be a girl in real life though. I asked a few people that I know and they said they like being treated as a female for more attention and stuff. Although they have a female name and act like a girl and not simply have few females characters but usually all of them.

Nerf all Instant Kill No Skill Requirement Profession: Thief, Elementalist, Engineer, Ranger
i have better suggestion: delete all classes and create 1 class with 1 melee attack…. very balanced
I agree and buff Shoutbow, medi guard and Power necro. Not enough passives and too hard to play.
geo/doom is just as cancer as air/fire though.. Even if they can be dodged just wait for a dodge and then weapon swap.
Medi guard is countered by all 3 celestial classes and many other builds that arent meta. It dosent need nerf because as Sorel said it does have an advantage vs thief/mes so you shouldnt be screaming OP when it happens to be your counter.

every1 and their mom is rank 80 already. there would be nopoint in putting a rank requirement. If anything there needs to be a certain IQ requirement to click the ranked button.

A braindead build should not be viable. I suggeest they just replace the turrets with something else instead of just being there as useless utilities.
No matter how u balance them, the AI build always reward ultimate passive play. AI builds should not be viable in PvP unless COMPLETLY reworked . And even if they rework them, u shouldnt be able to take the tankiest amulet and put decent damage out.
They will just quit the game. Nothing comes even close to the braindead-ness of a turret engi.
It took so much time to fix this broken and braindead AI build… It was about frekin time.

Panic strike thief is not OP right now compared to cele classes or even medi hammer guard.
But I agree that shadow arts after patch will make thief class a joke. Not because it will be OP but because it will be brain dead easy and every1 and their mom will reroll thief just like with shoutbows and cele engis / hammer guards right now.
They need to delete shadow rejuv and replace it by something else.

Warrior would require skill if they played a Zerker build. But zerk warr has crap CC skills compared to engineer Insta cast 4 secs+ CCs like overcharged shot and slick shoes.
They either need to nerf engineer CC or buff warrior CCs to make them insta cast. It would make zerk warr stronger and wont buff shoutbow since they have no CC anyway outside of fear me which is already insta cast.

So, only after several months arenanet realised that turret engi: kitten and braindead AI build has no place in PvP. And we dont even know when the patch is going to come out. Why does it take so much time to balance the game..?
And most people were saying ‘’ there is no turret engis on top tier teams, therefore they are not overpowered’. This is the dumbest thing Ive ever heard. Of course people wont play turret engi if they have some self respect ( or a brain) . Just because Abjured or whatever other team dosent play turret engi that dosent make them any more balanced.
Anyway .. 1 balance patch every 6 months is ridiculous, even dead games with less than 500 active players update more often than that.
I think slick shoes are fine. Its much easier to kill a slick shoes engi than e-gun engi ( for a thief at least )
My point is nobody should ever die to passive procs only. If you died thats probably because you got hit by other stuff aswell not just air/fire or spinal shivers, It comes down to an l2p issue basically.
I knew people would bring the ‘’S/D thief low dmg without air/fire argument’’ but the build would still be cancer if there was no insta cast or passive stuff in the game. Asking nerfs on insta cast and passive abilities is like asking to buff all the crap with alot of sustain or evades.
There is nothing wrong with passive procs unless you just started playing. You know that a power necro can one shot you if you’re close to 50% HP, why hanging around the necro and then cry about spinal shivers if you knew it was gonna happen?
Same goes for panic strike thief, you need to be prepared to have a condi clear or defensive utility off CD if there’s a thief porting to you and you’re low on hp.
If everything had counter play was predictable and had a cast time , it would be super lame. And who ever has the most dodges would win. Just think about fighting a hammer warrior . All u need is maximum amount of dodges to beat it since its extremely telegraphed and predictable.
Without any passive or insta cast dmg, S/D thieves would be the most cancerous thing in the game. Because there would be no way to land damage on some1 that has 70% evade uptime.
crit strikes thief= high risk high reward
panic strike thief= medium risk medium reward
S/D thief= low risk low reward
Isint that how it should be? Why do people QQ. Crit strikes is still good but its just hard to play in this meta thats why nobody plays it. Its much better to play an easier build and do something for your team instead of being downstate food and then claim that your hard build is not viable anymore.
Edit: Also nothing is more braindead than a shoutbow warr or a turret engi. If they nerf panic strike cuz it was ‘’too easy to play’ then LOL are you kittening serious.

AI builds do not need improvement. Arenanet ’’helped’’ turet engis and now every braindead player uses it.

Caed, saying that panic strike thief is easy to play makes no sense when builds like shoutbow, D/D ele turret engi, power ranger/necro exist. Even S/D acro thief is easier than panic strike.

Let’s get real the dmg of 60206 PS isint that great either so it kinda balances out the fact that its easier to play than Crit.
Stronghole is the worst PvP experience I ever had. I’m definitly not buying the expansion. I’m glad they at least showed us what it looks like instead of just taking the money of the customers.

The build actually isn’t that great against ranged opponents. Most of the dmg comes from weapon swaps and if they kite you, your pressure drops considerably. In a 1v1 at least, but a support build like this shouldn’t be 1v1ing very much.
Obviously people who use melee builds are gonna eat the damage if they are hit consistently by the conditions and Final Strike. Standing in the AoE also builds up adrenaline so people don’t seem to realize how it works and let the Warrior dictate to them.
Thats why I said its only strong on point cuz of the firefield. If it wasent for conquest this build wouldnt be good 1v1.

Your facerol build will get nerfed soon, don’t worry. The amount of turrets engis in PvP is higher than all other 7 classes stacked together. Arenanet said they will fix the brain dead AI in few patches.
1. Your MMR is too high to find other solo Q’ers
2. The premade you were facing had actually a bad MMR equal to the people that solo Q instead of having equal MMR to other premades.
3. PvP is dead and the match making is completely random at certain hours.
Also you probably didn’t have enough turret engis in your team to win the game. They are the key to success . Like honestly most premades are mediocre anyway and stack bunkers to win the game . Premades aren’t the problem, turret engis are.
What? Do you even turret bro. This meta is so good you don’t even need to be there to play the game. You can just drop your turrets , go afk and come back in 10 min.
If you are the only turret engi in your team you’ll probably lose when you’ll come back. If you have 3 or more you will win easely.

I’m just tiered of getting farmed by turret engis. Even when I’m in a premade and we run a fun comp instead of try hard comp, still gonna lose to kittening turrets.

Why do I have to switch builds and try super hard against an afk brain dead turret engi that could literally kill anything that isint built to fight them just with autoattacks?
Also yolo Q vs premades is becoming a kittening joke. You might as well delete the matchmaking for shorter Q times. Because waiting 8 mins to fight a full premade with 4 turrets and 1 shoutbow is a big kittening joke.

As a zerker, thief is so much reliable in anyway, burst damage, mobility to stick to the target, and a small time frame of lock down, its way more useful and easier to play, you don’t even need to be good mechanically, all you do is rotation and targeting and +1s, unlike point holders who should be good in order to hold points against multiple enemies and do 1v1s
I don’t think this is true tbh. Shoutheal is one of the easiest build in the game after turret engi. I don’t consider myself highly skilled mechanically and I can beat much better players than me with a shoutbow warr in a 1v1.
It has so much sustain that the player doesn’t even need to dodge properly and would still win any 1v1 on point just with weapon swap and the firefield. Its a very passive game play compared to thief.
And yes thief can be considered easy in tpvp because it doesn’t have to 1v1 but it doesn’t change the fact that 1v1 ing with a shoutbow is extremely easy. And even if you fight another shoutbow player that is better than yourself, you aren’t going to kill each other before help arrives.
^^ some people already tried to bring 3 turret engis in a tournament and they failed.
2 bunker condi rangers can be stacked for side nodes. 2 power necros too for a crazy team fight potential. 2 DPS guards is insane vs a burst comp .
Thief and Mesmer are the only classes that will hurt the team a lot if there’s 2 or more of them .
But I think its not a big deal considering you can multi class and swap depending on your team comp and enemy comp. Only being able to play 1 class in conquest is not enough unless you have a stable PvP team .
You should at least be able to play 1 roamer and 1 bunker/bruiser.
