Sadly, Tybalt/Forgal/Sieran was a price to pay to finally get our hands on that annoying vegetable Trahearne! I felt sorry for killing the hallucination of my teacher, but getting to bring a not-well ending to Trahearne was so worth going up that tower.

It’s never boring in this matchup! I wish Drakkar didn’t zerg when taking the ruins, but oh well. They gave us some epic fights so far.

There was a lot of general QQ about Scarlet in LA map chat as well.

While this new update is one of the better material we got recently and aesthetically well done, all going back to Scarlet as the preview suggests is really disappointing. But I truly hope we can end the bonkers salad once and for all.

Same issue for me – been getting other WvW achievements, but no Dawn of the Season, just realised.
I started the season personally the day after it officially started, not on a reset, but I hope this has nothing to do with the bug.

I’m not sure if this is a genuine bug of if I am really missing something, and I didn’t see if an explanation was given for this before.

I just noticed that I didn’t the get the “WvW Dawn of the Season” achievement. The achi description only says Begin the WvW Season. Which I did, and have been quite active in W3 since.
Did I miss the opportunity to get the achivement because I didn’t beging the season on a reset night? I rarely get the opportunity to play o Fridays, and I’m pretty sure I did some WvWing the day after. And I did get quite a lot of other achievements in the mean time.

Any explanation on this achievement would be much appreciated.

Nice that they sort of kept them as a part of the action. Maybe they’ve listened to the suggestions from the responses to Clockwork Chaos, when everyone said that it would be more story-like instead of a brainless zergfest, if they fight with the players to stop Scarlet et al during invasions.

Had a fantastic TA up + fw/fw with a buddy and 3 randoms. 2 guardians, 2 warriors and 1 ele. Even though we weren’t very synchronised or anything, we did so much damage that the mobs (and bosses!) just melted away. It was supposed to be just a quick p1 run, but party was so happy with one another that we did fw/fw for the heck of it.
Doing one more path is always a sign of a good PUG.

At some point, Anet can just put a price (in gems!) on an expansion – complete new maps and the like, and stop fixing stuff that isn’t broken. I’m sure people would rather buy their precious gems for a worthy cause like that, than for what the LS has brought us.

Screwing up the game just so they could sell gemstore paraphenalia?! Apart from the LS direction, this is the worst move I’ve ever seen Anet do.

Been asking this patch after a patch, but it obviously needs asking again. Anet, can we please be truly done with her and get back to the real story? Ktnxbai.

And the little proverbial bread crumbs we do get, are not in the game, but in a blog post on the GW2 website. If there was a trail, we could speak to the NPCs in Rata Sum and Hoelbrak etc. that appear in that short story. Alas, we cannot to that. Because the story (however small), is always told outside the game.

This Krait update has so much potential to be a good living story on its own, without the poorest villain of all times pulling the strings. So I really hope, they don’t involve Scarlet. If they do however, it’s time for her to die so that we can move on.

That summary…. just made me sad…

Yet we were given quite a fair number of minigames in the past year, whereas the storytelling aspect just isn’t adequate.

Opinions do differ however, so I would like to see some kind of a poll about what players want to see as a part of LS. Cause my experience with LS-update minigames is people complaining about them and then grinding them for achivements.

It is clear from various interviews that profit is being made, that being said you guys need more resources. I also realize that this isn’t really your call and you make best with what you do have. Me as a fan and a player saying “Get more resources” is very naïve. I know it’s not that simple.

Are new resources really needed? They should just re-direct resources from useless random minigames to something useful, like lore. That little thing called ‘story’ which makes Tyria and drives the game.

Why do I usually read the stuff on the website – because the storytelling in-game is SO POORLY PRESENTED that I desperately try to cling onto some kind of lore. Does that mean out-of-game stories are justified? No. It’s just lazyness and bad development. I do understand that it’s hard to do animated scenes etc, but as many people said before, in-game books or a lore NPC would fix the issue.
More stuff like the foreshadowing changes in the Kessex Hills is a good example of the in-game storytelling and Living Story presentation. Blog posts aren’t.

It is true that this particular story wouldn’t really work well in a book. But then, Writers please get a grip and write something that fits in the game! Don’t waste time/resources on random stories, players would appreciate if you use your time to improve the hard-to-come-by lore in game.

This! Anet, it’s almost 2014. If 90’s and early 00’s games can have a book system, surely this game can too! A little less development on pointless mini-games and more on the lore implementation and voilà.

But I really do hope, for the sake of the game, that we can get one interesting piece of the changing world without Scarlet Sue being involved. Krait in themselves, and more so Krait and Tengu connection, would be far more interesting than the return of the crazy plant.

But but… with Cleric there is no death there is survivability.
I did have a zerker set and found that it works beautifully with a decent group, but cleric can save many a PUG.

OP - which server are you on? If it’s EU, just give me a shout in game and I can show you best ways to kill AC bosses. Done this dungeon until my eyes have bled for armor sets and Gift of Ascalon, and yeah, it is one of the worst when it comes to pugging.

Spider queen can be killed in 2 ways: stacking if you’ve got a geared group with dps, or partly ranged partly melee with cond removals.

Whatever is coming next seems to have a lot of potential. I just hope there’s more in-game than on blog posts.

Teq site in Sparkfly Fen is a desert everywhere where people don’t go for an organised kill. It’s just not an event you accidentally stumble upon. So players who are doing it need something more than just a random timer. It would also encourage people on many servers to indeed go for some organisation. cause tam, all that waiting time is putting people off on less populated servers. Organisation would be easier if people now when it will happen.

Scarlet might be an interesting character. We don’t know that yet, as nothing of a sort was presented in game. Furthermore, like so many people in countless threads here have posted, she feels so disconnected from the rest of the story, real GW story. There are so many loosed ends from not only GW1, but also MAIN GAME GW2 itself: Personal Story, Pact story, Destiny’s Edge, future of Orr etc. So this much focus on a plain cardboard-cutout character who is evil for teh lolz feels like a distraction. People bought this game with some expectations, and judging by the cries of outrage, those expectations are not being met with the whole Scarlet business.

I don’t hate Scarlet per se (even though she is quite poorly written from what we’ve seen), but I do hate how they’ve implemented her into Tyria and the way LS is progressing (or not progressing at all, some might argue).

After attempts to organise this on my home server, and ending up in countless overflows on more populated servers, I eventually gave up trying to do it the “regular” way, by which time most of the Teq guilds got filled up.
I can operate, turrets, defend or take part in the main zerg (lvl80 cleric Guardian), will you TS, Mumble or whatever. Have attempted multiple times and got bellow 50%.

This seems like a really fun event if ppl do what needs to be done, but Anet generally kittened up things with the overflows and AFKers. Anyhow, I would really like to take a part of it, so I hope one of many brave Tequatling guilds out there would find a place in their hearts for me.

Indeed, there hasn’t been a proper dungeon team for months. Devs haven’t bothered at all to reply to the numerous threads on the Dungeons forum – only the TA one. The result after a year: nothing was fixed, but simply removed, and we got just one new path focusing on Living Random Story.

I truly hope they hire more people for development the real game and waste less resources on LS.

Contrary to the overall state of the game, apparently there is one. BobbyStein has been around on the forums, but sadly he only chooses to post in an odd isolated Scarlet-is great thread…

Short stories were good, bravo writers, but c’mon, put that in the game! just how many people read the blog, 0.001%?
Dirt on Caithe is a step in the right direction, though. Its the only thing that made me tiny bit interested in Scarlet. What’s worst, I’m pretty sure that the story they have for us is ok, but with the current snail-slow plot pacing and very poor character presentation, it’ll be years until we get anywhere. And with so many plots (with seemingly more potential) left unfinished from Personal Story, Dragon lore, Destiny’s Edge and GW1, I don’t really see the point of wasting time on Scooby-Doo-ish villains like Sparki, Slick and Scarlet.
