Like Comon why havnt we get gotten a new Engine yet!! and before yall open your mouths i know this was said before but i ask you guys just why havnt we not gotten a new Engine.I dont ask for much but us XFX users are suffering from bad FPS which is messing up our Gameplay.Better yet would of been better to bring Dx 11 to the Game After HoT
I cannot tell the difference between the pictures you posted lol
Super fast: Craft 3x discplines to 400. Will cost 30 gold but you will be done in 3 hours. Maybe less if you follow a crafting guide.
EDIT: Removed other options

I tend to roam with 2x other friends: condi mesmer and thief.
Been away from Guardian for a while… are the metabattle builds OK for small group like this? Or does someone have a suggestion?
I used to run (and loved) the incomingray 1700+ healing power, cleric/magi build. But things have since changed.
Go incinerator if you are looking to WvWvW(roam < 5 man)/PvP and want to look awesome doing it.
Go Bifrost if you WvWvW (zerg) and love to PvE.
I went Bifrost then Incinerator. I think Bifrost still looks incredible.
If you’re not an explorer, why do you need the maps open in the first place? What need to you have to have the maps opened up?
If you’re going to a zone with a friend to do something…use a teleport to friend. Or just run there once and OH look you have the waypoint now.
Maybe give the WvW hero point unlock thing another option to unlock waypoints in PvE too. Then you can WvW and get your waypoints open that way. If you’re a PvE player, just walk there once and you have it.
Why? Guild missions, dungeons, world bosses and events to name the 4x that jump into my brain immediately.
I think teleport to a friend costs real life money right? It’s a gems tore purchase? No ty.
EDIT: Though if they gave mesmers a port to their location while not in pvp or wvw then Ill be happy with that
(edited by ionix.9054)
It’s actually pretty simple to unlock at least 80% of the WPs of a map: start somewhere, run a circle at the edge of the map, run to the center, wp to the nearest border to the next map you want to uncover.
Queensdale took me about 16 mins just now.
And 70-80% is usually more than enough, even if you won’t have that specific WP you might need in the future – they’re not that far apart.
It’s not a matter of simplicity. We all know how to do it. We just hate doing it. For us non explorers this is the worst.

This is the only thing preventing me from wanting to level alts.
Please yes.
I don’t want loot or rewards or a gold star. Just map access for my alts since I completed once on another toon.
Guild Wars 2 is not primed for a good community. With mega servers, rotating WvWvW servers and the fact a person can join more than one guild hurts it a lot. Further, you can’t craft gear for friends, half the items aren’t tradeable, nearly all the currencies aren’t tradeable and you can’t help friends get items they need because of this games RNG. You can’t do people the epic favors of the past. I finally am good with money, wouldn’t it be awesome to craft the best stuff for my guild mates? Everything can be done solo in this game, and in fact it most certainly seems encouraged.
The in game community in this game is a joke compared to MMORPGS of the past.
Q: Who would really like to see camping come back as part of the game? Actually going some place, taking a seat with some friends, and getting to work enjoying the challenge of this particular set of creatures?
A: I would not like to see camps again. However, camping was an awesome way to “bond” with people, and GW2 is in desperate need for something to fill that void.
Q: What’s missing from the community experience for you?
A: All the reasons I listed above.
Q: What giant vacuums have you come across in this game that you’ve not found in other games?
A: The biggest void is a rule set and content that allow my first paragraph to happen. That is the only critical flaw of this game to me.
Q: What aspects of this game really shine for you and make it worth playing?
A: class design, the combat system (WvWvW), the graphics and the legendary weapons are outstanding in my opinion.
EDIT: Primary games were DAOC and Warhammer Online.

content: WvWvW, dungeons, map completions and level 50 fractals
If you’re just starting them now, then no. It just isn’t rewarding at all, much like most of the stuff in this game. Tons of effort, for little reward. So stay away for now, at least until HoT comes out, then give it a try.
Because in the state they are now, it just is not worth it to get started. Especially with HoT coming soon and the new revamp to Fractals. Like Just A Flesh Wound stated, they need to greatly improve low level Fractal rewards if they want people to actually do them. Cause getting started in Fractals is basically a waste of time. You don’t start getting anything good till the higher levels, and before then, it is just wasted effort for little to no reward.
So wait till HoT. Then see if it gets better.
Worth it? umm yes….
I do 1x fractal 50 a day. Within a 7 day span I get anywhere from 1-3 ascended drops. I would say it is rare that I don’t get any ascended drops. Plus roughly 7 ectos per run.
Fractal 50 takes 20-30 minutes with a good pug.
I thought ANET said they are extending fractals. Why not get your rank up ASAP at a chance at ascended?
Making the new Legendarys requires PvP, now I know I don’t need to even bother with it.
Except they stated that the items obtainable through PvP/WvW will be tradeable, thus you can still keep on doing PvE only and buy the PvP things from TP.
Please tell me the PvE items will be tradeable
I still use it like normal. I find deep freeze awesome in the usual fights.
Server: Sea of Sorrows.
Description: There are 3x of us, rl friends. We have had a small close knit guild that has focused on roaming since release. No one in our guild plays anymore, so it’s time to move on. I will be descriptive about us, because there are very few like minded gw2 players.
Purpose: Find like minded individuals to play with. Preferably a guild with ~15 active players on concurrently in the evenings.
Playstyle: We primarily roam to find fights in WvWvW. Since 2001, the only games we have played are DAOC (~10 years), WHO (we are Mythic fans) and GW2 since release. We prefer 1-5 man roam groups that just kill red names. We are anti-zerg and actively avoid running with the blob on our own server. When we flip camps or kill dolyaks, its more of a knee-jerk reflex bc it is in front of us. We care 0% about active point contribution… we just log on to roam, have fun and kill.
With that said— given our Mythic backgrounds — we do enjoy a Fractal and ripping out some dungeons for $ and a shot at ascended. Looking for guild open to trying raids.
Also, looking for a guild with no dumb rules:
- We believe in joining one guild, so we will rep it. If repping is a listed a req, we are not interested based on principle. (though if guild missions never occur in what we join, we participate in anothers for the tokens)
-We want no required play times
- No boots from the guild if we don’t play for a while
etc.
We want to roam and enjoy fractal/dungeon/raid when we feel like. We are very much, throw something together last minute
Classes: Currently, we are playing elly thief/necro and Mesmer. But we each have every class, and have mained others at some point.
Play time: We have full time jobs. Core hours: evenings, 1-3 hours at a pop (usually longer session on the weekends), 0-7 days a week depending on life.
Typically, guilds we get along with are guilds with others that are rl friends, long established and like minded. Especially with the same roots. We are nice people as well
I would craft it. This way you can play with it now… and if things change then just convert stats. It costs basically nothing compared to your initial investment.
If your not willing to convert stats, then obviously wait. But I it doesnt cost much lol
I spent around 1600 for both Bifrost and Incinerator
Side note: I got my BS in CS. I am now getting masters in ee/ce. I wish I got that degree first. If you have the opportunity, consider switching for your bachelors, especially if you are going to a top state school
I agree with crafting ascended zerker now and changing later as needed.
I run AWA, d/d
Which should I choose between Sigil of Battle, Sigil of Intelligence or Sigil of Bloodlust? (is there any other?)
Looking for the most oomph
This thread is on the same level as the in game tyria racism threads
Elementalist community begs for elly nerfs, elly gets nerfed.
Good job all
3 chests and 0 keys
OK, Summary:
- Thief community thinks it’s OK. It is well balanced. Nothing should be changed.
- If I want more balance I should get out of wvwvw and go to spvp
- Entirely a L2P issue on my part. W/ more experience I should be able to beat them no prob
- Mesmers came up a few times for some reason
- The guy who uploaded the video was mocked for being bad.
Thanks for the responses!
And this is different than running into 3 PU condi mesmers?
Not really sure how this is related to my original post…
People died, without seeing any of the thieves.
ANet should definitely nerf the runes so Thieves go back to having ONE viable build.
Some people died without even seeing an enemy. I thought hax was going on when I first saw this lol. Commmmooonnnnn dude….
Last time I saw something like this was back in the culling days ( *whistles * )
One trapper thief killed nine of you? You all either suck or you’re lying/exaggerating. (I’d admit to the second one if I were you)
Two Ghost Thieves vs 6 – 10 Players at Splendans
Albeit takes longer than 3 minutes for Two of us.
That is like it was last night. Except there were 3 of them against a large group of us. People died without seeing a thief.
I’ll restate that.
People died, without seeing any of the thieves.
OK. Well we had 3x of these thieves tonight. Must be a serious L2P issue on my part
Just came back to the game and encounter a trapper thief. Are we all completely OK with this? Balanced and working as intended?
Closest thing I can find to my experience tonight

Choose the highest population server you can get into.
I predict a price crash. I personally will not spend 1K + gold on a precursor if I can get it another way. The only reason I dish that money now is because I cannot get them any other way. I bet it will be quicker to do the hunt and craft then it would be to farm the gold required.
You will be able to buy mats for multiple legendaries at the price of a single precursor. If you are guaranteed a precursor via scavenger hunt, why would there be anyone bidding at these high prices?
If elly is nerfed hard it is you all to blame. I have read thread after thread of ellys calling for elly nerfs.
I have never seen a group of people playing the same class bandwagon together asking to nerf that class as you people have done.
Yeah it’s dead. 99% of the time it’s people attempting to get to their zerg.
Rotating weekly match ups prevent players from knowing each other. Better question for games where match ups are static and you can experience a certain person and guild consistently over a period of time. Usually then things become clear and people make a name for themselves (imo).
1. mesmer – done
2. Elementalist -needs nerf
3. Guardian – needs nerf
4. ???
OK guys. We need to find who is next in the nerf queue. As classes drop we need to keep this thing filled. So who is it going to be? I dunno, some thieves hit me pretty darn hard in wvwvw…
If you have time, how did you solve it?
Did you re-install windows?
Did you delete the .dll?
Did you uninstall another program that removed the .dll?
Right click on directip.dll and click properties —> Details . Take screen shot and post it.
Also, what Windows version do you have?
because 4 silver is just too much?
If the amount is considered insignificant, why should it even cost anything?
Sometimes I do fractal 50 with a random group, stack and I never get hit. Other times I do Fractal 50 my friends and we get smoked over and over. Further, I see videos of groups stacking on a boss (like lupi) and burning him quickly without taking a bit of damage.
So what changes from group to group? Do some guardians cycle blinds and block better then others? With a meta composition, what strategy can my friends and I use to stay untouchable while also pumping out massive deeps?
Say we are something like:
warrior ps
staff elly
staff elly
guardian
thief/mesmer/ranger/necro
Any help is appreciated guys/gals. Ty
So yeah probably Mac/Linux… Apparently people like those platforms…
Guild Wars 2 is my last Windows dependency. I welcome a Linux version.
Any weapon could be amazing. How can you people say sword would be better then warhorn? ANET can literally make up anything they want for the weapon.
I was holding out before I bought Zap. Now I know I am going to buy Spark. Aesthetics is all we have to work with at this point.
Players I run into:
1. High deeps players who don’t die and could solo the dungeon.
2. High deeps players who don’t die but can’t solo the dungeon.
3. High deeps players who die all the time unless everyone is playing max deeps.
4. Mid deeps players who don’t die and could solo the dungeon.
5. Mid deeps players who don’t die but can’t solo dungeon.
6. Mid deeps players who die all the time unless the boss dies fast.
7. Low deeps players who don’t die and could solo the dungeon.
8. Low deeps players who don’t die and couldn’t solo the dungeon.
9. Low deeps player who die all the time and are basically a drain to the party.Meta bullies are almost exclusively #3. They are noobs, but pretend they aren’t cause they have zerker gear. 1s and 2s are the kind of people willing to carry 6s, 8s, and 9s. I met someone who normally solos arah but was puging because that is more of a challenge. He was a bit elitist and meta, but he was still fun to play with because he wasn’t shouting at people.
More and more people are falling into the #1 category which makes puging very pleasant.
My war is full Zoja’s, but I don’t like the zerker meta, so I use her to climb fractals. Easy content like dungeons, I’ll bring my 4s, (odd thing to censor?) 5s, and 8s.
That is so unfair.
A meta ele, for example, HAS to be number 3. Eles are sitting ducks while channeling their devastating attacks, which they have to cast while still having 25 stacks of might. If the boss isnt dead by the end of the cast, chances are it already killed the other ele, or you. You can play it safe, time your casts and be conservative, but then you wont do top damage and most likely the boss will be dead by the time you even olace vulnerability on him
I don’t agree with that 100%. Yes ellys can’t soak damage. If the group is stacking and others aren’t providing blinds, it’s up to you to use Sandstorm or Arcane Shield to get off a Meteor Shower; you must be self sustaining. This means you have to swap out Arcane Blast.
… It’s a video game …
People chew them out because many individuals have twisted mindsets in that having yourself and others delegated to one task(dps, healing, or tanking) to clear a dungeon, pvp match, etc, is “fun”.
What I liked about old MMOs was the fact that there were designated jobs. I always had fun helping in a way that wasn’t the same in nearly 99% of games out there; I didn’t have to attack.
It was also fun to become known for your role… where people begged you to play with them because you rocked at the job that you did. If you got bored of healing, then switched toons to be main CC, or MA, or tank etc.
In this game, everyone does the same crap. Zerker attack mode. I find most people I associate with don’t even care what their group composition is in WvWvW. As I say in every thread I post… it feels like a red/team blue team halo match to me. Everything that made MMORPGSs unique and interesting to me has been removed.
And I agree, what I loved about MMORPGs are not popular with the rest of gamers these days.
And no. I never played WOW.
I’ve played this game since day 1 (broken trading post and all) and twice in the past I’ve taken extended absences due to a lack of compelling reasons to keep playing. Sure, it’s nice to have 6-12 months of content to work through when I get back, but I very quickly feel like I’ve run out of things to do. Silverwastes was great for a while and fractals held my interest for a while but I can only do the same content so many times.
PvP doesn’t do it for me either. WvW feels like a disorganized mess and sPvP, while better, doesn’t offer a significantly better PvP experience than something like league of legends.
In a world where balance changes are slow, (condition builds made viable YEARS after the game’s release) poorly tested, (massively overpowered burn stacks, gamebreaking guardian sigil bug/exploit) or outright broken (non-functional traits everywhere, incorrect tooltips are common, and…rangers…) What keeps you motivated to play?
I like the core experience of GW2, but I don’t feel like Anet is really dedicated to making sure their game continues to improve…except as far as new cash shop cosmetics are concerned. As more and more content starts to vanish behind pay walls (living world season 2, the heart of thorns “expansion”) I find myself wondering if GW2 has a future as a game worth playing.
If GW2 has a future as a game worth playing? What does this mean? Any game you play doesn’t mean squat in real life. Play when you feel like playing and don’t when you’re bored. You shouldn’t be playing if you feel it’s wasting your time. In fact, honestly, no video game is actually worthwhile.
Why did you have to make a thread.to dramatize “I’m bored?”
TP. Saved since I started playing to buy The Legend
On a side note… Long gone are the days of helping a guildie or friend gear up. The RNG model that game companies seem to love today are just one of several design decisions that discourage community and socialization. Joining a guild, making friends, helping and depending on them allowed people to progress. Unfortunately, many players will never know what a true MMORPG community can be (pre 2005 era) because of implementations like this. MMORPGS today are nearly as shallow as a red team/blue team halo match.
Back to the regular thread.
If I do a fractal level 50, do I have the same chance for the same loot (ascended armor/weapons, skins) as a level 49 fractal?
Also, if I do a level 50 fractal and get the reward at the end, can I also do the 49 fractal and get a reward at the end?
Thanks
Consider that they already nerfed a lot of “broken” traits and disabled the guardian trait that was bugged, I think anet is ok with this.
No word about it, nothing changed. I’m gonna enjoy doing this for as long as possible.
You’re right. ANET is OK with this.
After the Change, I constantly get hit by 4k and 8k crits that kill me in 2-3 seconds. Not a big deal. I kill those ppl equally as quickly on my burst build.
We need to get over the previous meta which espoused moderate damage on tanky builds (shoutbow, cele d/d ele, et al). The new Change said you can’t have your cake and eat it too. Be bursty. Be tanky. You don’t get to be both.
Or we could nerf it all and go back to boring 2 minute duels where we’re waiting for someone to slip up on a heal.
You’r not going to convince any one this is OK. It will be nerfed -.-
