80 Thief – 80 Warrior – 80 Guardian – 80 Ranger
80 Mesmer – 80 Necromancer
I love the outmanned buff, it has allowed me to level 4 80s, and a level 32 in WvW.
There’s nothing wrong with the buff, it just shouldn’t show on your portrait when enemies target you for reasons stated in the OP.
Either way doesn’t matter to me. I can think of oher areas I’d rather they work on first though.
I love the outmanned buff, it has allowed me to level 4 80s, and a level 32 in WvW.
Some bad Warriors in here. You do not have to give up damage, for defense.
My Warrior has over 3k attack, 3k armor, 27k hit points, and 70% critical once I enter combat. Slot the Superior Sigil that grants 30% chance to lifesteal on crit, and use the food that grans 66% to lifesteal on crit, while utilizing shout heals on top of one of your weapon sets being two weapons, so the second weapon gives lifesteal on weapon swap, and you’re doing both insane damage, and have insane defense capabilities.
In WvW my Warrior hands down is tankier than my Guardian, and my Warrior can do easily 5 times the damage my Guardian does. I’ve shown other Warriors complaining about their class that I can solo Supply Camps, with the Claimant having the immunity buff, and keep him busy until the buff wears off, and kill him. Not once getting below half health.
Warriors do not need to do that much damage with Kill Shot, or Eviscerate in order to be viable, and in a game where you’re paying attention to more than just the Warriors, you’re going to get hit with these abilities, and Kill Shot also works with Piercing. When I was running with a Rifle, I’d get multiple high hits, as the shot traveled its full distance.
Skilled players don’t fear balance, they welcome it.

That dodge roll heal could be abused if you had high healing. If you put in your main + off-hand 50% endurance return you could heal yourself for 5k (while evading) every 10s. I use to do it in WvW with like 5 people chasing me around and they couldn’t kill me unless they cc spammed me to death.
They nerfed the boon duration runes as well and nerfed Guardian shield protection to last half as long because with monk + water + protection runes you could have 100% uptime on protection. It was Save Yourself + Hold The Line + Shield + Rolling Around in your Symbols = lol.
There is still zero reason for them to nerf that heal, and remove yet ANOTHER thing Healing Power effected. They’re pretty much making Healing Power useless.
That 5k in heal over the span of minimum 5 seconds to a maximum of 10 seconds means nothing, when you can be backstabbed for 5k-8k depending on toughness, in a second after you rolled around on the ground for five seconds, with no hope of getting away from the Thief, with your minimal speed. <laughs>
In a game that gives you access to ten times more damage than you can mitigate, and no diminishing returns on crowd control, there is absolutely no excuse to complain about any form of healing, even on dodge rolls by the Guardian, the second slowest class in the game, second only to the Mesmer.
Like I said earlier, I have four 80s. For the fun of it, I just regeared both my Thief, and my Warrior into a bunker build, all exotics to see the difference compared to my Guardian. Hands down the Guardian got screwed because both my Thief, and Warrior have better survivability, and they both retain almost all of the damage they had with their glass canon builds because Vitality, and Toughness scale horribly in comparison to Power, and Precision.
With the ability to have very high crit in a bunker build by the Thief, and Warrior, pushing 70% crit easily, while slotting a sigil that gives life steal on 30% crit chance, and food that gives lifesteal on 66% chance after crits (the food doesn’t seem to have a cooldown), you can gain a lot more survivability without having to sacrifice damage.
This also doesn’t take into consideration condition damage, and how it ignores toughness.
(edited by jkctmc.8754)
Thief
OMG 20k damage using all utilities, so once every 45 seconds, with steal-cnd-backstab from melee range and has to hit in the back to pull off that damage. Forum rages calls for nerfs.Warrior
20k damage, not melee but 1500 range no less, once every 45 seconds i’d guess to charge up the adrenaline, no specific angle required. Forum mentions it but who cares right. Warriors should only get buffs.kitten?
I didn’t ever mind backstab, still don’t. I don’t particularly mind this either. However get some consistency, if backstab rotations are broken this is too, perhaps even more so.
It’s always in gigantic bursts with these classes. Thief jumps you. 6k backstab then hasted HS face roll spam 3.5k, 4k, and 5k and vanish. 100% to 0% before you even know WTF hit you. This is with HIGH armor FYI.
It really comes down to toughness not scaling 1:1 against crit damage, damage bonus multipliers, vulnerabilities, and might bonuses.
I honestly don’t get hit more than 4k from siege and no other class but thiefs and warriors hit me for over 5k. I’ve never been bursted down by engineers, necros, mesmers, rangers, guardians, and elemantalist, but I’ve bursted down by thiefs and warriors numerous times.
Keep in mind the best defense though, is from having a high crit. The heal on crit items are far better for defense, on top of switching weapons gaining lifesteal on the next hit, that gives the glass canon builds a much better defense, than a defensive build can get. What is worst, defensive builds have to give up a lot of damage to gear out the way they do..
After testing it on my Warrior, and seeing that I do nearly ten times the damage I do on my bunker Guardian, classes I absolutely destroy on my Warrior, I’m in the process of respeccing my Guardian in the same fashion.
It still cracks me up that if a Guardian dodge rolls for a 1600 heal, the masses cry about it, literally. But if a Warrior, or a Thief bursts for 20k damage in seconds, only a select few speak up, with the masses saying the damage is ok.
So they nerf the Guardians dodge roll heal, cutting it literally in half, making a past gear choice worthless, all because the majority, who play Glass Canons had to take three extra seconds to kill the Guardian. Cracks me up every time.
I have four 80s, so I see balance issues diferently. /shrugs

a group of 8 anvil rock hacked their way into our spawn. i have 8 total screen caps. included in the caps are guild names:
ALS, SSFF, Core, Mehnote this is only one screen cap, i have 8.
How is that hacking? they are dead and your alive. Get better Graphics too
How about this then?
That looks like the bug where someone uses skills like “stomp”, and for some reason it pushes you into the terrain, and it makes you stuck, where you have to waypoint out. Usually when it happens to someone new, they have to talk about it before they waypoint out.
Don’t mistake bugs, for exploits. A good rule of thumb is, what is there to gain? If it is minimal, or nothing at all, it generally is a bug, but if the gain is massive, like taking Hills without knocking down walls, or gates, that is an exploit.
This game is buggy as hell, so please learn the difference between bugs, and exploits.
Well, I didn’t need your explanation on what is a bug and exploit. That would be Lightsbane. Was asking what people thought of the screenshot I took. Yes, it is a bug that got him under the ground, but he was attacking myself and others. It was difficult to target him as well as deal any damage depending where he was located. Since he was taking advantage of a bug to gain an unfair advantage, he is exploiting. That gain was not game changing what so ever and it amused me. I did have fun trying to find him since he was using gtaoe, so it wasn’t very obvious where he was and using the tab key didn’t work.
You do realize if a skill knocked him into the ground, and you were still able to attack him before he “GOT OUT OF COMBAT”, he is stuck there until he can get you off of him, so he can Waypoint, right?
It’s natural instinct to try and survive, so you CAN understand a person not wanting to die to you, so they can get out of a bad situation, they don’t know how they got into, right?
His best bet would have been to let you kill him, but he was probably in a panic.
People. <shakes head>
Glass Canon this, Glass Canon that.
I hit this hard with Kill Shot on my Warrior too, and think it is nonsense hah.
The funny thing is, you can get Glass Canon numbers, and still get high defense on a Warrior. I have over 3000 in Attack, and Armor, on top of having 26k hit points, and 70% crit when I’m attacking you.
I won’t even mention how well my shouts heal, on top of other abilities that heal me when I crit, while I’m reflecting missiles each time I block.
Well, shouldn’t offense > defense? If we could defense spec to trivialize damage everyone would just turtle up.
This has not been true in any game, nor is it true for this game, because you can “focus” damage from multiple people onto one.
In games where you could heal unreal amounts, focusing was how you could overcome this. In a game like this, where one person can overcome the defense of another, by such a large margin, it is trivial to go defense, the issue causes for too many wasted stats, and builds.
We want more options, not fewer.
No one should EVER complain about killing anyone in this game.
(edited by jkctmc.8754)
You get very little in regards to vitality, and toughness, when you consider what you can get from crit hits. They made high damage in the form of “Precision” the most important stat.
That is the biggest reason glass canon is sooooo much better is the benefits you get from damage, most importantly precision. Not to mention, if someone is hit for 16k damage, they don’t whine as much as if they’re fighting someone who heals for 3k damage, and I’m not kidding you. It cracks me up.
To give you just an example of how beneficial Precision is, even for more durability, consider this;
Defense from crit hits.
— Gain 1 second Vigor off critical hit “Guardian/Mesmer” *Note: Dodges negate all damage.
— 33% chance to gain vigor on critical hits. “Elementalist” *Note: Dodges negate all damage.
— 50% chance to cause blindness on critical hit. “Engineer”.
— Siphon Health whenever you crtical hit. “Necromancer”.
Sigils that everyone can use.
— 30% chance to life steal on critical hit.
— 30% chance to heal yourself and allies. *Note: Yes Sigil of Water works off crits, not any hit.
Food that everyon can use.
—60% chance to life steal on crtical hits.
Not to mention all the added damage you can get with crits like.
— 33% chance on crit to cause bleeding.
— 33% chance to cause vulnerability on critical hits.
Because of this there are glass canon builds out there that get MUCH better survivability than the Guardian, and still maintain a GREATER amount of damage. It’s sick.

No.
Many of the sPvP rules don’t make sense, and are balanced against having less gear, not being able to use consumables, among other stuff.
It just will not work in WvW, and would destroy some builds entirely.
WvW isn’t unbalanced, but sPvP is. It cracks me up how unbalanced sPvP is. There are very few viable sPvP builds/classes, yet it is supposed to be balanced. sPvP is boring because of it.
Keep the illusion of balance in sPvP, and leave WvW alone.

Well when you guys get henge and ET, I would expect the whole map to be yours.
It’s a simple case of losing teams giving up. I have been on anvil from the start and have seen it every week. I believe this is the first time we are looking at a win, ever.
Every other time people in our server look at the points deficit and think “no way am I going on wvw, I’ll just get stomped”. Hell, I even used to do it when I was lower levels.I’m sure when you get two easy opponants next week and start winning, all your players will continue to play wvw and it will be you accused of having lots of guilds transfer in…
Oh man, this thread is great. Keep it going AR, plenty of us on BP are getting a kick out of this.
To any new comers curious why it’s so funny, please read this thread.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/11-23-BP-AR-GOM-Matchup/first
Since when does “one person” represent the entire Anvil Rock server? I notice you’re ignoring all the other posts, the dozens talking about the facts.
Quit being childish.
Melody
I logged out to watch TV with the wife. I tried to get those guys to leave the camps, but they won’t.
See thats the thing I’m figuring out. I think older players have a different set of standards when it comes to WvW.
I’m in my 30s. I’ve pretty much left ET alone because they are worst off than GOM.
When I saw Armorless AR players at the puzzle…I left them alone.
Yet I see both GOMMers and AR capturing that area. I can understand AR doing it but the GOMs doing it are wasting time and should be focusing on the other lands that are important.
As I type this, you are 100% green
Congrats but be prepared for a boring week. Because some of us are taking the week off.
I agree, the mentality of the 30+ year old gamers is different. I see it in my kids, and younger cousins all the time.
Melody

its not a HUGE boost in population! AR may of gotten 15 people so far but the PVP population is coming from our own PVE world . They been seeing us in WVW doing really well the 1st 2 days and more and more PVErs been showing. I do hate Free server transfers the servers will naturally fill up as time goes on and game improves. Free server transfers wipe out WVW for 1 side. Like what happened to AR before the new bunch of AR’s wvw alliance showed up.
I’m sorry but the WHOLE MAP IS NEARLY green. I am not stupid. You have three times as many people as you did 3 weeks ago.
Oh and some of you really seem to ENJOY zerging small groups when your zerg is over 30 players.
And you guys even killed me when all I wanted was to finish the map. I just need the one vista in the jumping puzzle. I dont give a frig about the free siege.
I WANT to complete the map. Thats all.
Seriously have fun being all green. Its too bad you can’t fight among yourselves since most of us are likely going to ride this week out doing other things.
Its more fun when its even and right now its not.
We didn’t gain that many, at peak we hit a queue once on the weekend. You guys just happened to lose a lot of players to both Anvil Rock, but mainly to Borlis Pass. Your biggest guilds left, which is going to destroy any server.
That said, you guys did really good.
Thanks but alot of us are too demoralized. I’m taking the rest of the week off.
oh and some of your team seem to getting overly big egos this week. That will be your downfall in the long run. Don’t trust them.
Go take camps, so I can take them back, and level my alt, he just hit 31.

We do outnumber you, just not for the reason you state.
That said, you guys did really good.
The matchup is just starting for some of us. Don’t get comfortable.
I’m waiting for you brother, bring it.
@Gates of Madness
You guys should hold your heads up. You put up a mad defense all weekend, and it took Anvil Rock a very long time to take your keep in Eternal Battlegrounds. There is nothing to be ashamed of, you guys gave it your all, and I would like to thank you for giving us such a long fight.
But low and behold the second you get a bigger population, your server has been inuslting us left, and right.
If you want to talk about insults I can repost some of the private messages you sent me. I think it’s better if we just ignore each other, so this is the last message of yours I will respond to.
Yet you did respond, and you’re going to bring up my private messages, which are not in context to your insults you dished out long before anyone retaliated in kind. You’re the first person to insult, and it cracks me up that you constantly report people when they retaliate.
You still take offense over facts, and can’t get over the fact Borlis Pass has a larger population that helps in winning the point totals in a game that runs 24 hours a day. This isn’t a new issue to MMOs, and even Dark Age of Camelot oh so many years ago suffered due to population issues, and night caps.
Recognizing facts does not make for an insult, but you seem to think it does.
It’s so crazy seeing this thread. GoM/ET are saying the same things about AR that AR said about BP. AR is saying the same thing BP said, lol. Oh this is great.
Can’t wait for next week, this weeks wvw is boring. SF gave up, and HoD is more worried about trying to duel people than actually capture anything. AR was like that at the start. Tons of thieves, but you couldn’t take anything. Then you realized “hey, we should try to win” and you brought out your real players. Started taking stuff, and actually made it fun.
Read it again.
Unlike Borlis Pass, Anvil Rock knows we out number Gates of Madness, and we have said so many times, even last week when we said; “We feel sorry for the decline in Gates of Madness pouplation”. You see, Anvil Rock isn’t under some delusion that population doesn’t play a major role in winning a 24 hour game, that requires participation during all hours to win.
Gates of Madness is suffering because a large portion of their server left, most to Borlis Pass, the rest to Anvil Rock. Gates of Madness is also suffering because Anvil Rock no longer has to focus its entire force on holding back the larger Borlis Pass force, so we can focus primarily on Gates of Madness because Eredon Terrace is non-existance, and isn’t putting up a fight.
Notice how Anvil Rock isn’t insulting Gates of Madness, unlike how Borlis Pass continues to do to Anvil Rock? We have better class, and are far more mature.

i don’t think limiting the siege to each person is a good thing as there are commanders that put down the siege when needed. i think we sould simply be able to take unwanted siege down that could fix the issue.
That will only allow those putting up the siege so you lose, to take down siege so you lose.
Doesn’t fix anything.
Hey, you guys have the best mortar, and treb operators. They never miss, even with the first shot, and can take out opposition siege like champs.
I have never understood the desire to cheat.
The best way to fix this is by putting a cap on individual players. Each player should be allowed to have a max of (6) pieces of siege up at one time so they can place them around a keep, and move as needed. When they want to replace this siege somewhere else, they should be able to savlage siege they have down, recover some supplies, and begin placing siege at another location.
This makes other, normal behaviors more difficult though. Guilds will no longer be able to have designated siegemasters. Oftentimes (at least on my server) you’ll see one person managing the siege pieces for a large group and it doesn’t take long before they’re up over 6 pieces.
While it could be a workable solution, it certainly has downsides.
It would be better than what is happening now.
I’m perfectly ok with it. Maybe if they take the time between now, and February to work on it, it won’t be full of bugs, and potential exploits.
While they’re at it, they should really encourage people to be in world vs world;
— like enhanced expeirence rewards for participating in a defense by giving the experience each time the timer ticks down, and the attackers havn’t taken it over.
—item, and/or crafting supplies per keep/tower take.
…and so on.

@GSS
Not a single person has said that Borlis Pass hasn’t improved on organization, not one, nada, zilch, zip.
What we’ve been telling you is that you have gained a lot of players, but you take offense to that one, simple fact, and in this game, numbers win. If you can’t put any amount of defense on three, of the four maps you are going to lose no matter how good you are, or how bad you are.
I came over to Anvil Rock months ago from Henge of Denravi, when all of us were fed up with kitten queue times, that reached 7 hours during peak time ON ALL MAPS. When I came over, there was an alliance on Anvil Rock in an uproar over fighting a high elo server, and if memory serves, it was Ehmry Bay. This entire alliance left Anvil Rock, and rumor has it by those who were in the alliance that didn’t go with them, that half of the alliance went to Borlis Pass.
Not long after that another guild left Anvil Rock, about the time Gates of Madness entered into the tier, when Gates of Madness could actually field some numbers. During this time Borlis Pass picked up a guild by the name of WAR, who showed very good organization skills, and got things done. That caused more fair weather players to leave Anvil Rock.
It wasn’t a week after WAR joined Borlis Pass, and we see an even greater increase in Borlis Pass numbers. You began fielding enough players to fight on three maps, while Gates of Madness noticably lost population, and could barely hold their own on one map.
It’s hard when you’re on the receiving end, not to notice brother. I’m sorry you’re taking offense to that one simple fact, but fact is you got a HUGE boost in population. I don’t recall anyone from Anvil Rock saying bad things about Borlis Pass, when you didn’t have the population. But low and behold the second you get a bigger population, your server has been inuslting us left, and right.
Doing Karma/XP runs on camps, the lake, rinse repeat, I’ve leveled the fastest toon in 8 days, the longest of those four in 11 days. Every toon had 11 to 12 gold, which was spent on jewelry, and weapons, all exotic of course. Then I spent 5-7 days finishing my Karma out, to buy the Exotic Karma gear in Orr, from the Karma merchants.
Which Karma/XP runs during leveling, “the lake” places did you use? I only recently got my first 80, and I’m gold starved and trying to farm for exotics, so I’d like to level up my next classes that way so I can equip them correctly at 80.
Go to an enemies borderlands, peferrably with the outmanned buff for the 33% bonus. Make sure you have a group, if you’re all low levels, or 3-4 if you have an 80 with you. You can even do it as a Zerg. Take camps, but don’t make it too obvious which one you’re going to next, and the enemy goes back to reflip them allowing for a constant run.
Intercepting Dolyaks is more useful for your team and it’s more likely you get to snatch some lone opponents on the way for badges.
Interesting. You can kill those as you’re moving around the map, taking all the camps, all the Sentries, which also gives you points, that goes towards the total your server needs to win the match.
A camp that is yours, isn’t sending your enemy supplies.

I’m glad other servers are finally seeing it, and they can’t claim it is just us making things up. We had them ghosting through the water gate at Bay, climbing the mountain at hills, among other stuff.
Then our server decided to do it, and it made for a long two weeks of nonsense.
Why are anet staff running with GoM this week? It’s cool to kill them an all, but tonight, GoM seems to have a very large morning crew.
Henge will put up a good fight, the best fight it’s put up since TA left us to our slow and painful decline in the rankings! And to those Borlis Pass people who had to get past my arrow cart in the jumping puzzle well done, I honestly didn’t think you could jump all the way to me with an arrow cart on you!
Guess we know which server is the new AR for this week.
As for the black screening, I can believe it. WvW seems buggy as hell. Can’t keep a stable connection, but anywhere else in the game I’m fine. No idea what is going on.
You guys have to forgive this guy, and his insults. He doesn’t know, nor understand the state of the game, and how Henge of Denravi, and the Titan Alliance owned every server pre-release, and when queue times got to 4-7 hours, people left Henge of Denravi in mass because of it, and because of other issues.
He thinks you’re making excuses, without knowing the reality of the situation.
My prediction is that Anvil Rock scores big this week, moves up a tier, and Henge of Denravi moves down to this tier.
This is a prime example of how the server transfers ruined servers, more so than the population Borlis Pass gained. Because of long Queue times, two of the top tier servers ET, and HoD had a very large amount of players leave those servers, and they’ve been going down ever since.
Server Transfers need to have a 21 day wait before a transfer, or a limit of 2 transfers per account. They ruin matchups, and mess up the ELO system.
The bags do drop at your feet. For me the bags I miss out on are the ones that appear after I’ve been downed. Cuz it’s just not that hard to press the loot key, you can do it while you run, while you’re using skills….
In a game with no consequences for death (you don’t even pay to waypoint in wvw),…
I want my enemy to sit looking at his corpse and feel the bitter sting of knowing those sparkly bags will never be his.
Cuz I can’t de-level him, I can’t loot his corpse, or nuthin.
In terms of design — there’s a reason we get huge amounts of karma for playing wvw. Go snag the exotic karma gear, there’s some acceptably good assortment of stats, wear it til you earn your Invaders.
There’s also a reason you get coin and mats in wvw… It’s not like it’s pvp where the only tradeable thing you get is dye.
I’m all for risk, vs reward, but you’re being delusional if you think this provides that type of atmosphere, when you can get fully geared up under many circumstances, much, much easier.
It’s a broken mechanic, and see my post about my 4, fully geared 80s.
This nonsense about making someone you kill suffer, is laughable, and I’ve played all those games that allowed you to loot anothers corpse, and they were illusions, because gear was so easy to get, it didn’t matter, except for UO, or EQ1 where it could take years to get good gear.
The mechanic for Badges of Honor as loot is broken, and there needs to be a fix to it, or remove them from the game.
This is the build I run for myself, which allows me to keep Swiftness, Fury, Regen, and 3 stacks up Might near permanently or permanently on my group if I use the 20% boon duration food. The added 90 Precision, and +10% crit damage is just icing on the cake for the group.
With full exotic Beserker’s gear I have 70% critical to hit all the time, and a very high bonus to crit damage.
@Oglaf
I have 4 fully geared 80s; Ranger, Warrior, Guardian, and Thief. None of these classes can outdamage my Warrior. I also provide to myself, and my group perma Swiftness, Regen, Fury, and 3 stacks of Might on top of the 90 Precision, and +10% bonus to critical hit damage, the entire time I’m on my Warrior. What those boons, and extra damage brigns to a group, far supercedes the mystical lack of tanking you think there is.
When I ask people I run with all the time, do you want my Warrior, or my Guardian, I’m told my Warrior every single time.
What does my Warrior provide?
1) The highest single, and second highest AoE damage, with a very good set of weapons to choose from.
2) Very good CC, if I choose to use it.
3) The ability to increase the groups DPS, with a minor boost to survivability. That Guardian you seem to be upset about, is that much harder to kill because of the regen I grant him.
4) The ability to stack Vulnerability, and Bleeds PER CRIT, which stacks with any weapons attacks that also have Vulnerability. It’s common for me to see 13 stacks or more of both Vulnerability, and Bleeds. Vulnerability also increases the groups damage.
5) The ability to bring downed players up faster than most classes, all but the Guardian.
6) The ability to grab agro because of my insane damage, and dodge around, allowing for a Guardian to recover when they get overwhelmed.
Don’t sell the Warrior short. The Warrior is probably the most complete class in this game.
The build I came up with for my playstile.

@Luna
So basically you don’t want defenders to be able to stop siege, so defending keeps/towers becomes virtually useless, to anyone, but a zerg?
The only way I would agree with this, is if I could restructure a keep because the current architects sucked, and I could design a better keep/tower, that I could defend easier, than they are now.
I’ve leveled 4 toons to 80, and working on my 5th toon, who is level 30 now.
The drop rate of Badges of Honor is a joke, considering how ugly the gear is, which can’t be transmuted, or anything done to it, and by the time you gear and level one toon if you’re going to do it with Badges of Honor, I can level 4, and gear them up in the same amount of time.
So in my opinion they need to increase the drop rates of Badges of Honor, and add a variety of stats you can purchase with them.
What is the worst, is I’ve had a lot of solo kills, that give me absolutely no Badges of Honor. That’s a kick in the face.

You could do camp runs, and get enough Karma to purchase an entire Exotic set out of the Orr Karma merchants, before you’ll get enough to purchase one piece of armor, or weapons with Badges of Honor.
Use your Badges for siege equipment.
What changed with Necro’s recently? They use to be speed bumps, and free Badges of Honor like Rangers, but lately I’ve been running into Necromancers that are kicking my teeth in.
I might have to level my wifes Necromancer to learn the class, and how best to counter them. I have to say the Necromancer is the only class I know nothing about.
@Kirrund
Others do it too brother, and it is just that much easier on a Thief. I have 4 80s; Ranger, Warrior, Guardian, and a Thief. When I get on my Thief, it is a world of difference, and I can enter into a massive fight, and come out with 30-50 badges of honor.
It seems the second I steatlh, no one can see me for minutes from that point on, I just wade through, and pick my kills. Every now and then throwing one Cloak and Dagger if I start to take damage.
I can not do that on any of my other toons, because they can be targeted. This game has some of the worst rendering I’ve seen in any PvP game, second only to Aion, which oddly enough was created by the same people.
I have an extremely fast computer, and even I’ve seen issues where the opposing zerg did not show up on my screen until I was in thier midst. I waded in thinking I saw only a couple groups, and found out there were probably 50 there. On my other toons, they die in this situation, but on my Thief, I stealth, and get a lot of badges.
An auto-loot system would be nice. The thing that annoys me the most though is loot is based off damage done, so my bunker builds rarely if ever get Badges of Honor, while my glass cannon builds get a lot of Badges of Honor.
I like that idea Merendel.
@Dinas
I love testing things, so I test for hours to find that build that fits my play style, and choose the food that seems to fit the build the best. Like I found out on my Warrior the +Boon Duration food allows me in his build to keep Regen, Fury, Swiftness, and three stacks of Might up permanently on myself, and my group. While I can stack up to two minutes on myself, unfortunately it seems to cap out at one minute for other players.
@Styx
The illusions crack me up. They seem to fool most people, but there is always that one person that no matter what I do, it doesn’t fool them.
@In General
I’m still a little butt hurt over the nerf to my Guardian heals. I don’t understand why it is ok for me to Kill Shot on my Warrior for 7-8k against a heavily armored opponent, or 16k-20k against glass cannons, yet it is the end of the world if my Guardian dodge rolls, and heals for 1600ish health. These recent nerfs to the Guardian has lifted my Thiefs bunker build above my Guardians bunker build, and I’m not sure I am ok with that.
1) Altruistic Healing Guardian
2) Meditation Healing Guardian
*Note: Both use Greatsword/Hammer so they can draw people in with GSword, and trap them with hammer. They both also use the healing tome, which will need to be coordinated in Vent.
3) Elementalist to maximize the Guardians GS/Hammer Trap, but also able to bunker down with them as well.
4) Confusion AE based Mesmer.
5) Warrior, or Engineer.
@Dinas
That; “+duration food” should have been “+condition duration food”.
My fingers are failing me today.
@Dinas
Yeah, when I get on my Thief, it makes it very hard to go back to both my Guardian, and my new baby Mesmer. At least I can keep up Swiftness all the time on my Warrior. My Ranger though…… He’s become a farming bot.
I’m working towards the Confusion build on my Mesmer, though I’m not sure if I want to run the +duration food, or the +endurance regen food that I run on my Guardian, and Thief.
What food are you running, and what build are you using on your Mesmer?
There is definately a population boost in WvW participation. I’ve leveled 4 80s in WvW, and it’s kitten hard for me to level my 5th. No matter what time it is during the day, or night, I’ve put together a 3-5 man Karma/Xps crew for my “now” level 26 Mesmer, and every time I run into a massive amount of people.
Prior to the most recent weeks, I was leveling an 80 in WvW every 7-9 days, now after 17 days, my last toon I’m trying to get to 80 is still only level 26. It’s fun though, running around on a low level in WvW. I hate PvE unless there is a risk of PvP, so I’ll keep digging in, and I WILL get this last toon to 80 in WvW.
Another issue might be this is the first toon I’ve played that doesn’t have access to a long duration Swiftness, or have a perma run speed like my Thief.
Seriously again? This is getting out of hand. I took your word on it before ktith even though AR tried it 4 times that day but here they are again, the entire zerg, abusing land exploits. Please, just stop, if not for the sake that you keep failing but that this is our last week together and don’t end it on such a sour note.
Here you can see some AR commiting the exploit and about to jump into the keep.:

You know there is only one way AR is ever going to learn their lesson.
Because that is a representation of every guild, and player on Anvil Rock, like when Borlis Pass ghosts into Bay, or climbs the mountain, and jumps into Hills. Glad to know the actions of a few, represent the entire servers.
I have fought many of these thieves, my opinion is.. wow you guys actually have problems killing a thief even in stealth? L2p
Looks at signature, yep as expected.
Actually, thieves inherently just know how to counter other thieves. It’s not that he’s defending the act, he’s merely pointing out that it’s not that hard to take that thief down. Something I noticed people rarely observe is, thieves actually target thieves a lot, at least that’s my experience.
How many here can truly say they have never killed a thief in stealth? Random aoes, wild-swinging melees. Poof, there appears a thief, one arm stretched pining for the day when he was in stealth and not laying down in the mercy of his opponents.
Thieves like to move from cover to cover, even in stealth. while culling issues of course exist, but half the time I notice people just throw up their hands and scream in frustration when the thief is actually just hiding out of your los.
I have never died in stealth, ever. How can you get hit by AEs when they show a big red circle on the ground, and dodge rolls negate all damage? AEs are the easiest thing in this game to avoid.
@Bearded
Learn how to do multiple frontal attacks, and one person won’t be able to mess it up for the zerg. There is no need for you to insult that person.
