I get such a laugh out of the anti-mount people. The amount of energy used to twist logic to use against mounts is mind boggling. Some players really want mounts, end of story. The issue should be simply choice. If a player wants a mount so they can traverse Tyria’s vast open world, great. If someone doesn’t want a mount and uses the way points, great. It’s ALL good if it keeps players entertained and invested in the game. Telling either side they are wrong and can’t have does nothing but lessen someones experience of the game.

The word for every anti-mount person to learn is tolerance. This isn’t YOUR game alone.

Its such a waste not to implement this and it shows a lack of vision, imagination and ability.

No it doesnt. Copying other mmo’s sounds more like a lack of vision.

Why did you decide that mounts is copying of other mmo? In reality people also used the mounts. By your logic all mmo – plagiarism of reality? And even if we assume that the implementation of the idea of mounts is copying – then what prevents to implement it so that it will be not like in other MMOs?
See? Lack of vision.

Dont come with BS explanations please. People want mounts because they have in in their old MMO and/or RPG.

Thats BS. The MMOS I played with mounts utilised them differently if not in play style in design, SWTOR, LOTR and a crap game called Black Gold. Infact I hated the mounts in that latter game and was unimpressed with them in LOTR. The games I have played the longest GW1 and DDO dont even use mounts!

In SWTOR I found the mounts in them were fun and worked nicely. When I considered the huge tech and magic variables in GW2 there is scope for so many fun mounts. The witches broomstick, the tunneling device and the flying carpet are proof of this already.

Some people really do have a shallow and unproportional dislike for mounts. Infact its a hatred that would beggar belief to me until I played Black Gold. I now can see how some people would be put off for life. That is from an experience that was bad and where some people can see a bad experience or two as not being evidence of a bad idea just a badly executed one others become blinkered and just see an idea that cant work period.

This is a game not real life so their needs to be some sort of compromise and a player with a thousand hours or more of play has shown a certain amount of conviction to the game, has helped keep the game world populated and alive. Just because they haven’t farmed like mad specifically for a Legendary or ascended gear shouldnt mean they cant have one or have significant help to get just one character a legendary or full ascended gear.

It doesnt mean a player who has ground and farmed into the ground is devalued unless that player is looking for some sort of vain bragging rights. That player would also get the option after so many hours of gameplay to get the same benefit and therefore he wold have more than one of these very special items where most of us will only have ever one if we get help to get it.

Its distressing to see any one game encourage such an extreme unhealthy playtime on a computer that some players put in on an MMO.

To be honest the best way to make the maize balm work for everyone is give the elementals that spawn from them much more health (make them veterans) so they take considerably much longer to kill even with multiple players around so the player that spawns them and surrounding players can all get a piece of the action for a win win situation.

Really?? Just go somewhere else.

And as for heart quests, well, often in the normal events of the game a heart quest – or anything really, all sorts of events – can’t be completed at the specific moment you happen to be there – you go away, do something else, and go back some other time to do it. This is normal gameplay. Seriously, have any of you actually played a game before?

No all the rest of us are just thick, trog like neanderthals who think a monitor is filled with tiny people or the ghosts of our ancestors. JUST SARCASM back at you. ;-)

Guild Wars 2, the repetitive mmo?

Life itself is repetitive, me boyo….

I think by the age of 47 I’m well aware of that. LoL I’m talking about a game that uses repetition to make up for a lack of actual original content. It’s a 2 year old mmo game that has been slowing down on content delivery since it’s first year but with the game’s makers trying to make us believe we are getting a lot. It is for nothing I suppose but it isn’t really for nothing due to the game ship and even at that I would rather pay for guaranteed substantial content.

I doubt you played a whole lof ot mmos by the sound of it.Gw2 compared to many other mmo’s handles this “repetitive gameplay” very well.. Take a look at archeage or Tera for e.g,Then you can talk about something being repetitive up to the point its becoming painfully obvious the devs were just being lazy.

I dont know what qualifies for a whole lot of MMOs . I am asking where does GW sit in a ranking of repetition and saying why i find it repetitive. What I have realised though is it may be the type of repetition that annoys me

Of what I have played I find that the repetition in Guild Wars 2 is mostly of a different kind from the other MMOs I played. GW2 seems to encourage a hybrid, part solo, kind of game play. Its like playing around other people and beside them but a lot of the time not with them. A similar experience is like being in a room full of people but still feeling lonely.

Things like Fractals, Dungeons, Guild Missions are like the old quests and raids of old to a degree where though repeatable the communication and fun with a good party makes all the difference, literally. These are the kind of quests and raids I didnt mind repeating in GW1, DDO and SWTOR (the latter to a degree). But there are a limited amount of fractals and dungeons in GW2. Dungeon paths are often the same part way too. Guild Missions are few imo.

GW2 is truly built around dynamic events with the gameplay style of people joining in but not really bonding or often people just doing much of it solo. The LS is often soloed too. I find it hard to get guildies to do the stories and even sometimes pugs. I believe already Anet said no more dungeon content and that is more what I would like. I want content designed for an organised, communicative bunch of people that can maybe even bond if just for a short time.

I do grow tired of unresponsive or unfriendly pugs as well though. As I said age is making me more grumpy and less patient sometimes.

Im not pulling punches here but the original GW1 used to have prompts for taking a break afer a few hours of play. This game doesn’t. It seems an unhealthy lifestyle of intense gaming seems to be whats being built on and pushed here. Gamers seem to think its okay to give the game so many hours, nay days, of their lives over to play the game or to work at it like a job farming, grinding for gold, materials etc.

A person who wants to have a life outside the game, who has a job thats enough of a grind that they don’t want it in their leisure time finds their game handicapped because its ramped up for the hardcore except for the nice little rewards for a logging in so often and easier dailies to keep us casuals partly motivated. We are told the grind is for just cosmetic differences but full ascended gear does give quite an advantage in pve and wvw that it makes a difference if a party is geared up like this. After a thousand hours playing a person feels like he deserves at least a legendary as a treat for being a loyal customer. Its not my fault getting a legendary has been designed to be so demanding a person has to go far out their way to do stuff they may not enjoy like farming certain areas instead of being able to get it in the game play they enjoy.

NOW before anyone flames me for being thoughtless I know there are people whose lives, health etc mean the game does become a focus for them, for an escape and enjoyment and so Im not trying to demean you in any way for spendinga lot of time in the game and I sympathise with you. This doesn’t mean the game needs to have such a repetitive time sink progression system.

I agree. The game has a number of silly cosmetic bs such as outfits and minis. None of them are any different from having mounts and Anet already have a selection of cosmetic mounts anyway so it can be done. There are so many options and ways it could be implemented to add no more lag to the systems than having minis does and to not break game mechanics. The fact this game has such a rich magic-tech culture means there could be so many amazing different mounts from golem suits to rocket jet packs, plants, creatures. SO many varied sylvari, charr, asura, norn and human creations.

Its such a waste not to implement this and it shows a lack of vision, imagination and ability.

Well, I appreciate the feedback.

Sticky? Nah, no can do because there are half a dozen or more posts that would call out for the same thing, and stickies push down current topics so we’re trying to keep them few in number. (I’m actually asking team members for a review of stickies to see if we can have fewer.)

Official answer? I don’t see the value of that unless we had the post stickied (see above) or if we had a working #%^&#^ search engine. Since we don’t have a functional search engine, an official post would just slide onto Pg 3 or Pg 4 and we’d see another “Hey, let’s have mounts!” thread.

Perhaps more importantly, I don’t believe there is an official answer on the subject, although sure, I’ll ask about it and see if there’s a way to take advantage of any info on the subject that may be available.

Have you ever considered if there are so many common conversations that there would be many stickies there could be a separate common discussion forum with the relevant stickies only limited to maybe two or thee pages so folks can easily find them and add to them instead.

Maybe the answer is to give 10 tomes of knowledge for the option to use them at any point in the leveling process as a compromise on a scroll that skips them to the 20th level . You may find folks may spend these tomes at different levels spreading their leveling activity around different maps depending on their preferences instead of a level 20 scroll motivating them to avoid the early maps.

To be honest as I get much older I’m becoming more cynical and grumpy and less patient for BS.

I’d say get out of MMOs then. I have contemplated it and I have come to the conclusion that MMOs are inherently inferior games. Unless you have friends who can make up for the pitfalls that all MMOs have, they will never achieve what you want them to.

I’ve been thinking about doing that very thing. Part of me is nostalgic for the pen and paper dungeons and dragon’s experience I had with my friends as a very young man. Never going to get those days back now. I just need to face up to that.

What place in the order of AAA games does GW2 have in regards to repetition? It seems every bit of content is designed for drawing out the most from relatively mediocre amounts of content (now the game has been running over 2 years) whether it’s dungeons where the paths often share similar maps, fractals with increasing difficulty and complexity, living story that has achievements that require revisiting the story again, events that spawn regularly. It’s a lot if you enjoy repeating all this time and again.

I do agree Anet probably have no big plans for the game and are happy they have the target market interested. This is people happy with repetitive content and achievements with various currencies and collectibles as carrots to keep them chasing.

For me the game is stale. It is burnout with me but because of the heavy reliance of repetitive content to keep people involved. I think the LS2 has not delivered on the impressions we were giving by Anet at the beginning of the year. It is no better than the LS1 and infact Im sure its less content than delivered that season.

What Anet have done is tried to create an illusion of giving us more than LS 1 by giving us bigger chunks but less often, by making stories and more events repeatable at any time and making it that each character must repeat it and do achievements. The story may be okay but its not very imaginative. However it seems there are plenty that are happy with this.

It depresses me as I do love the world and the general game play and now and again great group content. But all my guild and most folks I know play the living story solo and do not want to play with others. It appears to me its strange if that’s working as intended. I moan because I truly wish the game would pick up with a really expansive amount of content but it wont because enough people are happy for now.

It seems like such a glaring omission for an adventurer not to have his or her faithful steed. Imagine the Lone Ranger without Silver, King Arthur on foot, or even General Grant without Cincinnati or General Lee without Traveller. And there’s nothing saying that equines would be the only available mounts; that’s just my taste. A Charr on a huge tiger would look imposing and awesome.

Or the Duke Boys in the General Lee. :-D

People that don’t see the need for mounts or that hate them are like people who don’t see the need for bread or hate it. …

Your eating bread does not interfere with my gluten intolerance, but as has been explained in all the various other threads begging for mounts, mounts would interfere with the enjoyment of many people playing the current game.

No it wouldn’t if implemented properly. Not at all. It adds a third option to how to play the game and you can play it your way still.

Only if they were not able to be used in battle, were invisible in towns and around NPC that characters need to talk to, gave no advantages such as speed buffs (EDIT: not any additonal speed buff above the current 15%, 25% and 33% increases) , and were culled (EDIT2: along with their riders) when too many players were in one map that there was lag.

I can accept disallowed in cities and not allowed close to friendly npcs or important enemy pcs as a given. Speed buff should be much better but I would accept a constant 33% to compromise. They are not for battle, cant be used to attack and enough damage from a basic mob will cause a dismount. A certain amount of lag would cause a cull of rider and mount until dismount. Rider to be warned. Also no mini pet and mount at same time.

Why does some having mounts affect your game anyway? There are mounts already implemented and they can just be made faster.

Now you see, where it affects me, right?

No I dont. what I see is someone with a cosmetic dislike for mounts so far. Like someone may have a dislike of minis or a dislike of outfits. Fasts travel is already available and in fact its superfast travel. Slow travel at running speed +25% and with added skills and traits is already available. All that’s being asked for is travel that isn’t slow but isn’t near instant for many. A dislike of mounts could be valid only if it was to break the game but that’s like saying don’t do anything new as it may break the game.

Precursors drop everywhere. This is bad.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: joneb.5679

joneb.5679

The reason precursors feel so nasty to acquire isn’t that they’re too rare. Based on my knowledge of MMOs, players will literally grind for anything. The problem is that they’re too distributed.

Spamming autoattack on world bosses and farm trains shouldn’t get you essentially the same odds for a precursor as Arah or FotM 50. There’s absolutely no reason for there to even be a minuscule chance of them dropping off of trash mobs.

When so much faceroll content has odds of dropping a pre, the odds for any given activity have to be crazy low to keep the supply limited. Players are pushed into this global lottery where nothing feels like progression. Why work my way up to harder content if it won’t even improve my chances?

This leads to a situation where the most effective method is to find the easiest gold grind and buy it off the TP, rather than actually putting any effort into playing the game. This feel cheap to do, and is the reason why legendaries have near zero prestige right now. When you see a legendary these days, all it means is “farmer” or “RNGeesus”.

My suggestion:Take precursors off of trash mob loot tables. Take them out of afk-auto world bosses. Dramatically raise the odds of them dropping in actual content, so that players get to feel like they can do something about getting them, and they regain a bit of prestige factor.

What do you guys think? Would it actually help the process of getting a legendary feel more special, or would it see too much casual backlash?

I dont think basic trash mobs like moas or should have them drop but [EDIT] the chance to get them from veteran and from world bosses especially should be much higher. Also there should be a much better chance in dungeon, fractal loot. This especially because the effort and cost to make the legendary even with having a precursor is still high.

I have played many hours from early start and have not had one drop.

No it’s not—-many many many DO NOT WANT MOUNTS ADDED!!!

So NO!

Mods please merge with the dead closed thread where it belongs.

Why does some having mounts affect your game anyway? There are mounts already implemented and they can just be made faster. You can still run or wp everywhere if you want. As for lag, unless a dev says otherwise a mount is not a pet with the need for additional pathing to the character. There is no reason if people have lag problems there couldn’t be a toggle to turn the graphics of the mount down to a very basic or even make mounts disallowed when serious lag begins.

There can be waypoints, fast running and even mounts with no new mechanics as they are all available but less wps and faster running or fast mounts is more preferable to me.

What a contradiction the rest of the world design is that Anet made such a beautiful world and made travel an instant world avoider or such a time waster. Some of us have less time to play than others but still want to enjoy the world.

Would love to see mounts in the game. Was one of the few things that disappointed me about GW2 when I picked it up (The others being lack of guild bases and lack of personal housing)

Frankly, I’d rather have guild halls, fixing the Personal Story, finally fixing – for good – all of these dynamic events that are always getting bugged, and a lot of the other things Orpheal listed (even raid-style content!) before we can even consider mounts.

Thats never going to happen because it seems even a fix to one thing can cause a break elsewhere in this game. They already have mounts like the flying carper anyway so all they have to do is make them faster or introduce a few more. Either that or make running faster.

What a contradiction to make such a beautiful game and have travel an instant world avoider or such a time waster. Some of us have less time to play than others but still want to enjoy the world.

Make a travel from Rata Sum to the Fields of Ruin just only on feet using no speed buffs, no movement skilsl, just plain normal running and repeat again, that Tyria is small.

It would be a matter of a minute or 2, depending on how long the loading screens take.

1. From Rata Sum take WPs to get to the Asura gate to Lion’s Arch.
2. Go through gate to Lion’s Arch.
3. Run to Asura gate to Divinity’s Reach.
4. Go through gate to Divinity’s Reach.
5. Take WP to Rurikton district.
6. Run to Asura gate to Fields of Ruin.
7. Go through gate to Fields of Ruin.

Anyone who WANTS to run over that territory without taking WPs or using Asura gates or using speed buffs or movement skills, that’s their choice and their problem, not mine or the game’s.

MMORPG games are meant for a variety of people to enjoy and not just you and people like you. You are no more or less important to the games success than me.

I use all the movement methods and they are still pretty poor. Asura gates and WPs also need a loading screen often and I can be on a loading screen for over 30 seconds to a minute. I cant afford a better computer. Waypoints and Asura gates are often world avoiding. 25% speed buffs are still slow. Using whatever skill and traits a character has access to I still find they don’t allow for a decent running time. Its so easy to pull aggro and be slowed.

Also there are people who have a short play time and want a chance to experience a more immersive game in that time. Travel and do events in three or four zones, no WPs but not stuck to one or two zones either to get their daily. I find nothing worse in my short time to play running around missing events or having to wp fast to get to an event. Crossing ground faster would help alleviate that.

The idea of a fast mount or faster running speed is to allow for someone to still enjoy the world but also get to places faster. Its keeping a level of immersion that porting everywhere when you need to travel fast breaks. Also in a short gaming session which many people only have time for you can explore many zones fast and run across a greater variety of events just because faster land travel will allow for that.

Right now we only have porting fast to get places fast or running slow so people run a short area in maybe one zone then port a huge distance. There are people who run everywhere and so say twenty minutes travel to them may not be much but I and many people like me may only have a short time to play and experience the world.

It may be time to do a dungeon, or to run around a zone for a daily and a few events. But sometimes I want the chance to explore and experience more in my short time which if I had a fast mount or running speed I could get through maybe three or four zones just riding and coming across a variety of events in a variety of settings.

To be honest I see not having mounts or high speeds for exploration but many waypoints a complete contradiction to what Anet mean for this world. ie exploration of its beauty. I mean they even built in vistas with cinematics just to show it off. But I will only ever explore it fully once with one of my characters because its too much of an effort.

People that don’t see the need for mounts or that hate them are like people who don’t see the need for bread or hate it. You may say there are potatoes, rice, pasta so who needs bread? Some of us may just like a nice quick but enjoyable home made sandwich instead of cooking but also instead of a packet of potato chips/crisps.

I hope the metaphor here makes sense.

I’m not sure what you mean by ‘posting in the Support site’. Did you create a ticket and submit it? Did you note down the ticket number? Did you receive the automated response? If not, did you read the Sticky, ‘Not Getting our Emails’? If you did get the automated response, did you post your ticket number in the Sticky, ‘Tickets 3 Days and Older’? You can find those Stickies in the Account Issues sub-forum. Every post in the latter Sticky gets a response.

Good luck.

Thanks. I didnt take note of ticket number but Ill check my mail again. Its a bit convoluted to get help all the same. It wont happen tonight. Too close to bed time.

I have not had a reply from Anet either here in the forums, in the game or on the support page even after posting a second request in that page. I did not see instructions to repair the client as Inculpatus said. I guess Anet are so secure in their size of player base and popularity of the game they can ignore us or at least me.

I followed Ayrilana and Shadows link and the problem I have is a bit different. You see I’m not having a problem with the various magic find buffs being added into the magic find total in the Heroes windows equipment pane. That is showing as 101% before buffs and upgrades. The problem is my base magic find as reported in the Achievements panel is just 10% now after the base MF suddenly been reduced at least twice in the past with it happening last a few days ago.

It may or may not be a wrong number in the UI and the real total is still counted but I do not feel very confident or assured of this. I played a lot of hours, salvaged a lot of items instead of selling and consumed a lot of magic find essences so I think I deserve to have the correct MF and to know this for sure. I’m expecting at least my base MF to be 101% but as it was already reduced before and rebuilt up it could easily be 110% base.

I sent in a ticket yesterday and heard nothing so I’m putting this here. The basic Magic Find I should have is wrongly displayed in the achievement panel of the heroes window at 10% but in the equipped pane of the heroes window it is at 111% with only a current plus 10% guild upgrade boost. This would mean my base achievement MF is really 101% but I believe I really should have more than that.

I say believe because a while ago I thought I Iost some of the Magic Find, which I am also sure was over 100% back then, from my achievement panel but I soldiered on. The last I knew before I checked my base MF last night was I had it back up in the high 90%. I logged in last night updated and opened a lot of trick or treat bags and started clicking essences of Luck and thought I want to check what my base MF. I could barely believe it was all the way down to 10% in the achievement panel.

Not only do I want my MF corrected to what it should really be including adding the loss I had when it was over 100% the first time I lost some MF but I dont want to find my Magic Find in the equipped window to drop to actually reflect the current wrong base magic find as it is now.

I don’t want to accumulate more MF from essences until this is sorted in case it adds more confusion. Will you please help me Anet?

*I cant really afford a better computer system (PC and OS) so Im stuck with lesser graphically demanding games.
*I would love to run other games but cant afford to. Im thinking of trying a few other MMOPRPGs but waiting to see if I get a new job soon or lose even my broadband.
*I have tried a few other less graphically demanding mmorpgs and have not been happy with them.
*My guild in GW2 is friendly.
*I have tried some fps of late but frustrated with the big difference in play due the power of a pc, and also with cheaters and with pay to win features

Is anyone happy anymore?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Of-course there will be people that are happy. That’s the way of the world. There are people who enjoy the comfort and relative safety of monotony, repetition, avoiding change and there are people who need to experience new things, see more, be challenged, even put themselves in danger for thrills. Then there are all sorts of in between types of people.

I need to see more, experience more, have challenges sometimes in my games and GW2 has just completely burned me out as even though I log on now just to make sure I get my LS2 story updates free I can barely get motivated to play them. The dynamic events in Dry Top or anywhere else don’t excite me as neither do the major world boss fights and I cant be bothered completing dungeons that I have tried a few times and never been able to finish because I and parties I have had have not been competent enough. I don’t have the patience now days to repeat fail rinse and repeat time and again.

I do want more expansive content that brings people together to work at closely like in GW1 where people actually cared to talk with people and enjoy the company instead of as it is now talking to people as if they are npcs with good AI.

Guild Wars: 2 Years

Though I have stopped playing for weeks then came back and tried to get involved I’m finding it hard to enjoy this game again. To be honest I want expansive adventure, campaign, quest, and dungeons content. I also want people to play with which I don’t need to pre book ahead as a guild event of sorts. I’m wary of pugs because of elitism or players who don’t play well as a team. The cosmetic focus and intensive equipment grind does not interest me at all. Also recently the other day I was getting disconnected a lot and that was off putting too.

I find the game stale and the LS2 content development and delivery no better than LS1. I think Im also fed up with finding temporary new friends in all the games I play the just for them to move on as a guild folds or doesn’t suit me or them. In a game I have had great times in the past it is a downer. :-(

Name it an expansion, name it an add-on, a new chapter, whatever but this game needs it big time. You would think by te success of Factions and Nightfall and Eye of the North Anet would realise people are willing to pay for that. I just think Anet have got lazy as why work hard to make new expansive event, quest, dungeon content when you can get away with a little (in relation to an expansive add on) every other fortnight and getting folks to pay for new cosmetic items.

The game is purely a business model and Anet seem to have no pride in making it better except in ways to max profits to effort.

Pretty simply I tried coming back to this game. I played a lot back in the day since early access but I have found every guild I had after the initial year or less was solo players or little cleeks unless there was a specific guild event. There was no helping each other unless folks were particularly good friends it seemed. So I have been struggling with a Living Story episode and my guildies basically are not interested.

I want to play the Living Story and its hard in bits to solo though Im sure many players persevere or are better than me but the game has been created to be such a way that has made people want to do their own thing mostly. If I cant get a guild who groups in the open world and help each other then I am wiping my characters.

Why wipe you may ask? Because each time I have come back I have grown more and more frustrated so I will take away that temptation next time. Everything I have will be ruined. I haven’t much gold but I have plenty other stuff.

Why Anet would you create a game that made people play like this? You have so many gameplay types such as PvP, WvW, dungeons, fractals, that in the open world, leveling and story instances most people I have known just solo. This is where I also want to play with others. I am quite depressed now anyway so that doesnt help my mood.

So Anet I just want to say where I am coming from. Whether you care I dont know and Im sure others will post how they are sick of leaving threads and others will make jokes about leaving them my stuff. Some will insult me, call me a whiner, a bad player, a care bear. I just wanted to play a game in community with companion players. I dont want to struggle to solo (and I managed to solo most of the main personal story too except the last part with Zaitan). I dont feel this game is happening for me now.

It seems the smaller gaming communities were always the more helpful. As games get bigger and more diverse its harder to find like minded people.

Being forced to replay missions is bad

There are rewards for the total achievement points held in an account. Apart from that the achievements are designed to make the new story content seem more than it is. By having players repeat it multiple times for each character makes it seem a lot to those who don’t mind doing that but to those of use who don’t play that way its very little content.

Just my 2 cents regarding the 'cassual' LS

in Living World

Someone says why shouldnt it be short and I say because we were seemed to be promised much more expansive LS" content updates and less frequent than LS1 but this seems to be back to the best LS1 content standards as does the frequency of 2 weekly. However because its been 5 months of repeated festival content in between this to me is too little content and not enough to hold my attention more than 2 days and it doesn’t really inspire group play either.

I’m enjoying it. I like the change to the achievements. I now feel like I don’t have to grind out a meta. I can play it as much or as little as I want, it reminded me of my time playing Guild Wars. Playing to have fun. I don’t exspect to be able to finish everything. But it’s nice to know I can do them when ever I want.

Buts its too little content after so long without anything new and its not much to hold on to. I cant be kitten d repeating it so I will go back to my fps and beta mmo and even though I look in each update I wont stay for long. If many people just do as i do and dont properly engage with the world outside of each update how can that help keep a healthy sized consistent population? To be honest the way I feel let down right now i have no interest at all in coming updates. There will need to be something considerable to get me interested again.

There should have been a full new zone by now not fed to us in bits but something full of events and bosses, champions and a world boss. It doesnt mean that even if a full zone is opened up to us the LS story cant develop in it the same time as we explore the new events etc. The events throughout the world of Tyria do not all relate to the personal story and the world is accessible even without doing the personal story

People want more, bigger, better content and WILL pay for it. Anet obviously aren’t doing as well as they say from this games free to play model or we would have had a large zone with a full list of events and bosses and a world boss yet after 5 months of repeated festivals and promises of less frequent but larger updates than LS 1 we get another Living Story episode that doesn’t even equal the largest LS 1 update of Southsun Cove. What a joke. BUT now Anet have gone back on what they said about less frequent and larger content and we are back to the standard of the best LS1 stories on two weekly basis it seems. We needed a full zone with events and a world boss by now.

This is not what Anet said was coming as in much more expansive Living Story content but less frequent. Its back to Living Story one standards. Yes this is good for a two weekly update but no better than some Living Story 1 content and certainly not as large even as Southsun Cove. After 5 months of repetitive festivals I expected much more and I would have paid for much more rather than for cosmetic items that Anet seem to think this game thrives on yet GW1 was so much better content wise. So much better.

Its good content but definitely not what Anet led us to believe was coming. Well those of us who read all the stuff that they wrote since Christmas about what the LS2 was bringing. Its not enough to hook me for long. Im back to my fps and MMO beta.

There is not much material in this one as there was expected because

  1. We were promised less frequent but larger Living Story updates .
  2. I did the story instances easily and some of the achievements over a period of two days and yet had more trouble with some LS 1 updates
  3. This actual Living Story update is just a short story and small area again with large amounts of achievements bulking the new area out to make people repeat stuff.

SO as far as I can see its no bigger than the largest Living Story 1 episodes but its all we have to go on for a much longer period than 2 weeks. Who knows, maybe another month or two. You can denigrate me all you want but I have an fps and new MMO to play so it suits me whatever insults are thrown at me because this game is moving off my radar anyway as it is for many folks and if no one wants to know why people are leaving let the game suffer in ignorance.

Ok after watching that video i went to the vendor in game. Note that when I did the Zephyrite favor was at 2 but on the first tab of the vendor which was tier 1 I seemed to see ALL Maguuma related items with BOTH a price cost and geo cost and on tab 2 was tier 3 which had an icon with a red one at each item which when I hovered over said tier 3. I guess what that means is that when tier 3 is achieved that icon change to a gold price.
