Nemata Sapshield – Dragonhunter
Lillian Estre – Tempest
Ah that’s too bad, I wish we could get the full swiftness :/
If there’s a difference, it’s noticeable. And why shouldn’t they stack? +25% from the Signet, and +33% from the speed buff…. I don’t see how these wouldn’t stack.
I’ve recently found that, on my Ranger, when Signet of the Hunt is equipped, speed buffs from warhorn etc… do not actually apply any speed bonus.
Are signets and speed buffs suppose to stack? or is 25% movement speed max or something…
One of the reasons high level players don’t do low-level events, if because the exp, karma, and silver rewards are so negligible. It would be nice if, similar to item drops, event rewards scaled to the level of the player.
It would also be nice for things such as mats (claw, bones, etc..) to also scale, but I could see a few problems with this.
Currently, auto-target has a seemingly random order in which it targets. This can be frustrating when trying to quickly take a low-heal target out, and using TAB doesn’t do the trick, since its tedious to have to cycle through every single possible target.
Here’s some improvements to auto-targeting:

Brom Jordinson
Very experienced lv80 Ranger (1000+ hours) looking for a large, active, and committed dungeon running guild. I’m a chill, friendly player who likes to help others as well as the guild as a whole.

Many Rangers feel that pets are more of a burden than a boon. I’ve heard so many times in dungeons “The only problem with rangers, is the constant babysitting.” I’ve played the Ranger class for 1000+ hours, doing dungeons, fractals, and WvW alike, and I unfortunately agree with those players.
The biggest problem with the current pet UI is that it lacks control, and forces our pets on us, even if we don’t want them at that moment. This makes pets uncontrollable and unwieldy.
Here are some changes to the pet UI system that would greatly improve the current system:
Thank you for taking the time to read my post. If you have anything to add, or just have any comments or criticisms, please feel free to reply below.
Last month they updated professions, I don’t see why they won’t this time around. Probably going to nerf barrage along with all other AOEs, but that’s w/e since it’s only one skill. And hopefully they fix some of the other Ranger issues to make up for it.
The skill occasionally fails, not sure what causes it. It’s very aggravating, but at least they buffed the skill itself so when it does work, it heals you a ton.
While I never played Everquest, I do agree with what you said about legendaries. They aren’t an actual achievement of skill, its just a matter of who has the most gold, the most luck, and the most time to farm.
Agreed, I really hate that legendaries are being sold on the trading post, completely takes away from the “legendary” aspect of them.
Lodestones are the most expensive crafting mat at the moment, and are very hard to get. While I’m not asking for a dramatic increase in lodes, it would be nice if dungeons had a higher chance of dropping cores/lodes from chests.
I have done HOTW more than 200 times (that is not an exaggeration), and I’ve only ever gotten 3 Glacial Lodestones, and 1 Corrupted Lodestone (from a boss, not the chest). Since dungeons are the primary end game content, it would be nice for regular dungeons (not just FOTM), to be more rewarding, and give more high-end crafting materials for legendaries.
Another option, would be to add more difficult version of the same dungeon, similar to FOTM leveling but not ever increasing. This would be an “inferno” mode per-say, and would have dramatically greater rewards, such as more tokens, t6 mats, and lodes.

Actually, you CAN’T get vials of mist essence from fractals lv20 and up. If you really want them, you’re going to have to grind lower levels (1-9). An alternative though, would be to simply downgrade a glob of mist essence into 3 vials, the recipe is on the wiki.
If you really want different stats on legendary, you’re going to just have to transmute it…
Or one better, offer lodestones for Karma. Account bound, of course.
It’s impossible for them to make account & soulbound lodestones, how would they stack?! You obviously wouldn’t be able to stack account bound lodes with regular ones, so either they would have to be completely separate items, or it just wouldn’t work…
The area each server starts in is random, so check back next week you will likley be near the points you need. Also you should be against different servers.
That is incorrect, the server that wins the previous week will be Green, the Loser will be Red, and the middle server will be blue.
It’s a WvWvW jumping puzzle, it’s meant to be a hostile area. While I understand your frustration, as jumping puzzle campers are extremely irritating, it’s just a matter of life.
Me and a friend started to level alt characters, the only problem is that when I help him with his story quests, I don’t get any experience or reward for doing so. My suggestion is to at least give some experience for helping others with their storyline, otherwise there is no rewards for doing so, making it a waste of time.

This isn’t a problem, when I changed servers, all the ore I had mined on the previous server hadn’t reset on the new server.
Magic find is such a tricky and controversial issue. While I don’t really like mf gear itself, as it can lead to dungeon leeches etc… I’m not sure if GW2 should have an alternate leveling system. While an alternate mf leveling system made sense in D3, GW2 has its own method of leveling after reaching level cap (as in you continue to get skill points which you can spend on high level items).
The only problem is that some armor, like Norn t3 heavy cultural armor, already has a cape built in. I do agree that there needs to be a wider selection of back items though, but I’m sure that’s something Anet will expand upon in the future.
I completely agree with you, similar to other game unlocks, dyes should be account wide rather than character based.
Why would a single piece of 80 (rare) cultural armour cost what an 2 entire sets of exotics would cost you?
In this case, your not paying for the gear itself, but the awesome skin. I don’t think cultural armor is overpriced at all, it’s the best looking gear in the game, and so it should cost more than regular gear.
Use www.gw2lfg.com, makes finding groups MUCH easier.
There is currently a way to do this with regular dungeon tokens (kind of). If you’re one of the lucky ones and get a special dungeon recipe, you can turn dungeon tokens into items and sell them on the AH.
I’ve been doing this with HOTW tokens, turning 200 tokens (a days worth) into 3-4g basically.
This is a great idea, it’s really hard to distinguish good from bad commanders, if there was some way to track a commander’s WvW history, it would reward dedicated commanders for their hard work.
That could work too, but I still like the idea of an unbreakable gathering tool.
Really lame to categorize the fractals like this and even forgot one of them. Which scale are you on? 2 ?
I’m on FOTM lv20 (as I put in parenthesis on my original post), and I’ve done around 300 fractals. I didn’t forget Jade Maw, I merely left it out since its a “bonus” fractal, and isn’t that hard to begin with.
I’d buy the expansion… especially if it included the Northern Shiverpeaks and a fight with Jormag.
Its just the hassle of constantly having to buy them (I buy them for karma in orr and southsun, which can be troublesome), and having to carry around a spare set in case you run out.
I think some sort of unbreakable tool would be a really great reward/option for people who gather frequently, especially in different level areas so you don’t need every single type of gathering tool.
I didn’t realize Lionguard Lyns sold 250 picks (cause I’ve never talked to her), so maybe the mystic gathering tool is unnecessary, but I would still like to see legendary ones since 4s, or 350 karma, adds up over long periods of time.
(edited by jwaz.1908)
I realize this has been posted before, but I just thought I would expand upon the idea in my own way, and create actual recipes for potential future mystic & legendary (unbreakable) gathering tools.
Mystic Gathering Tools
Similar to Mystic Salvage kits, these would have 250 uses and would be the highest tier (other than black lion).
Legendary Gathering Tools
These would be infinite-charged gathering tools of the highest tier (other than black lion).
(Gift of Fruit would be a lv400 chef recipe, consisting of 250 Omnomberries, 250 Raspberries, 250 Oranges, and 250 Cherries.)
I totally agree with you, I find it tiresome to have to constantly purchase gathering tools (I buy them with karma but still), and have to carry around a spare set in case I run out. They should introduce some sort of “Unbreakable” or “Legendary” gathering tools that last forever.
I used the Brown and Polar bears for the longest time, and while they were good at tanking, they weren’t very maneuverable/versatile.
My newest favorite is the devourers, they are fast, easier to keep alive, and have powerful ranged attacks.
Legendaries already cost 1 million karma, I don’t think adding to this already extremely large number is necessary, although I DO agree that they need to implement a new way of getting precursors.
I agree… I was expecting Eternity to be this super awesome angelic great-sword, instead its just Twilight/Sunrise again….
(edited by jwaz.1908)
Yeah its really disappointing in my opinion, even the legendary precursors have generic icons, and even skins in some cases.
A lot of the high-end exotics, mainly those crafted in the mystic forge, are lacking proper icons. I find this disappointing/ironic since these weapons cost at least half that of a legendary.
Icons are an extremely important part of a weapon; they make a weapon stand out in your inventory, when equipped, and even the moment they are crafted, and to use the most basic of icons for weapons like Volcanus, Wintersbite, and Cragstone seems kinda lazy for the level of value those skins hold.
I would really appreciate custom icons for these extremely high-value weapons, demonstrating how unique they really are.
(Picture of my equipped Wintersbite longbow, cost around 250-300g and yet has the icon of a white item.)
(edited by jwaz.1908)
What it comes down to is versatility of skills, in other words, the two have similar, if not the same, damage output. I’ve used longbow for the majority of my gaming time, and found that longbow is horrible 1v1: its slow, clunky, and only really good at burst damage at a distance.
Shortbow on the other hand is great for close encounters, since it has more cc and maneuverability built in, but it doesn’t do any more damage, and potentially even less damage than longbow.
All in all, I would say use longbow for WvW (great for defending/assaulting keeps), and use shortbow in PvE or sPvP.
Hold down both mouse buttons. You’ll be delightfully surprised.
Agreed. It’s really annoying to have your pets die instantly to agony. Either pets should inherit your agony resist, or some sort of special pet trinket should be implemented to give them agony resist.
Legendary weapons are the pinnacle of GW2: they are statements of dedication, endurance, and accomplishment. Whenever someone with a legendary runs by, everyone around them knows of their success, the only problem is, there’s no actual skill required in acquiring a legendary.
The current legendary template is merely hundreds of hours of grinding/hunting for mats, as well as gold. There’s no story behind the legendary itself, there’s no skill behind acquiring it, just dedication to farming.
Because of this, many people have spent hundreds of real-life money to obtain legendary weapons, which completely defeats the purpose of a legendary weapon being a personal in-game accomplishment (Yay! you can waste hundreds of dollars).
Now, I’m not just here to complain about legendaries, I understand that they’re suppose to be difficult to acquire, I just wish that half the legendaries out there weren’t fake, and I wish that acquiring a legendary legitimately didn’t merely require endless farming. Here are my proposed changes to the current legendary system:
>> LEGENDARIES SHOULD BE SOULBOUND ON ACQUIRE
– Being able to buy legendaries on the AH takes the accomplishment/grandeur out of them, and makes them like any other exotic weapon.
>> NEW WAY TO RECEIVE PRECURSOR
– The current system to receive precursors is too random, chance-based, and indeterminate. An alternate way could be some sort of intense solo-dungeon or quest-line. This would give players a concrete way of acquiring precursors, would also add skill to the process of achieving legendary, and would allow for story-lines behind the legendaries themselves to be introduced.
>> LEGENDARIES SHOULD BE (SLIGHTLY) MORE POWEFUL
– While I understand the need for balance in a pvp styled mmo, many people feel that if they are going to spend hundreds of hours on something, that something should at least be slightly more powerful. I’m not asking for legendaries to be OP, just have a few more stats here and there.
Thanks you for reading my suggestions, if you have any other comments/ideas/or criticisms please feel free to post below.
Depends on your play style. My current build is max dps WvWvW longbow sniper (Aka full Berserker gear and 30/30/10/0/0). This build works great for defending points, dishing out huge amounts of damage from above. It also works really good in zerg fights when your able to hide behind a meat shield.
Here’s Brom Jordinson, my lv80 Norn Ranger…
Sporting Norn T3 Cultural Armor, as well as Honor of the Waves dungeon armor; wielding Wintersbite, ice longbow.
Just wanted to start a tally of which fractals people think are the hardest, and the easiest. Here’s the list from my experience (lv20)…
8. Cliffside
7. Volcanic
6. Underground Facility
5. Urban Battlegrounds
4. Uncategorized
3. Snowblind
2. Swampland
1. Aquatic Ruins
8 and 7 are debatable, since I’ve had equal difficulty with both. Please post your lists!
Even worse than not being able to get back in, is the bug that kicks everyone out (sometimes) when that person tries to reenter.
Either an Oakheart or Champion Svanir Marauder, but I know those won’t be added ^^
I strongly disagree. Lick wounds was a crap move before, and did practically nothing. The current state is much better, and much more balanced with other classes survive downed move, like teleporting or stealthing.
Not exactly sure why, but often when I WP (Fast Travel) somewhere, or sometimes when I try to enter FOTM, my game crashes. Happens at least 10 times a day… Anyone else experiencing this? Only started happening to me after the big Nov update.
When doing lv20 FOTM for daily, one of our members dropped on the second fractal. We finish the second and the final fractal (Uncategorized Fractal) and the game decides to bug and not move forward to Jade Maw. Wasted two hours, no daily chest, no ring. Every day I end up wasting like 4 hours on fractals due to bugs and bad groups…. Probably just going to give up on them.
Happened to me too, lv20 daily failed :/
