Did these merchants take a break this year? Did a dragon eat them or their flying hunk of junk crash? If anyone knows and would like to tell me it would be much appreciated.
Good story, but I don’t think it really is being told as a “story” gets told. I don’t know about other people, but I read a story at least a chapter at a time, not a quarter of a page at a time, so I’m just wondering, is that how other people go about it, or just me?
Add “Disco Inferno – by The Trammps” to the stun phase of the Tequatl the Sunless encounter. It would make it so much more immersive and motivational to defeat such a big opponent.
If you had to describe the game to a friend who wanted to start, what would you tell them?
I would say while it is a unique game with stuff going for it (different skill and stat setup and lack of Trinity), what I will remember from my experience would be a unnecessary dragged out story line (called Living Story) and a story that the only personal aspect is you can pick somewhat what you do (Personal story), skin grind, and bugs that have existed since the game started that really pop up when you do map completion and an unbalanced pvp/pve mode (WvW).
I would just like to really thank you Anet for making this new patch and changing the gem currency exchange. Before I was always tempted to buy gems to convert into gold for some extra funds, but with the latest patch that feeling is totally gone and I can now buy other games that I could find as equally enjoyable if not more than this game, so thank you for taking that temptation of buying gems away.
Edit:I understand they are going to change the gem exchange again to add an opinion for custom amounts. My feelings are still the same.
Suggestion: Revert it back or put in an option for specific amounts.
Although I do support many on here and on reddit for their anger, and I really feel sorry for this game for what the devs do to it and for the new players that have to have everything spoon fed to them and not actually learn how to do anything and complain about the slightest inconvenience that most of the veteran players have had to deal with for +2 years.
I’m not too sure, but there was no evidence that it sold, not money, wasn’t in the transactions or on any characters. Sadly since I do not have first person access to his account I cannot check and give a conclusive answer. (And according to Anet it shows that he never had it at all, not much him selling it)
Be careful about putting anything too valuable on the TP. My friend put a legendary (Sunrise) up on a Sell order then decided to cancel it to sell it at another price only to have it disappear completely and when he contact Anet they said that they cannot track any of the trading post transactions at all and said he is just out of luck and won’t get his hard work back. Be warned.
Man I hope they fixes all there bugged events or most of them. I would really like to go back and just roam tyria doing whatever just so happens, like they keep advertising but its hard to do when a large majority of the the events are bugged.
Thanks Anet for making sure we have varied match ups that gives us a chance to fight and making sure that its imbalanced so we don’t get bored of sights like this. I really want to thank you for reminding me why I don’t play in the regular maps anymore.
I can’t play anymore, if the game requires me to use skills, I cant play that part (World bosses, open world, fracs, dungeons, etc. Only hit me with the new patch and I have done everything I can think of to get more fps besides turning the game off, and its not my computer because everything else runs great, so Idk what Anet did but, thank you for giving me a reason to not play GW2.
With all the changes to the servers with Megaservers and Guild Unification, I was wondering:
What does guesting affect now?
I only wonder because I was thinking that if it would allow me to gain access to another copy of Frostgorge that did not support the toxicity that Anet has been supporting I would guest more often.
I’ve noticed some events that people actually need to finish are being farmed too the point that if someone tries to complete it they get the toxicity that Anet has given to the players since there is not many other ways of getting gold/items besides dungeons/world bosses/flipping TP. So the new one is the Defend Coiled Watch event that is being farmed like the Orr event. So I am wondering Anet, when is it going to be fixed so that some players can actually complete achievements/Living story without getting torn a new one?
This shows some pretty epic action happening on HoD, although the video is not mine personally and not sure about the audio. (sorry if this like triple posts but the forums are acting up for me)
I feel like GW1 sets up GW2, even more so when they added Guild Wars: Beyond, which tells the player how the queen got to power (and how if they did not, the world would be very different according to Anet) and how we get other important NPC’s like Logan or the Sylvari, and even important locations in GW2 come from GW1. (i.e. LA ruins or Droknar’s skill point.) It may not be an important thing to most players, but I would hope that they don’t dismiss something as important as the foundation of GW2.
So I’ve noticed another player expressing interest in a game that may or may not be related to the Universe of GW2, So I would like some clarification, Is the lore/history past of this game part of the universe of GW2?
Do you think its good enough as it is? I feel like nothing is getting done about the issues (Illegal selling of a certain currency, bugs, glitches, and other illegal activities), and if you ask about it on forums, it gets locked and deleted faster then a professional speed run dungeon team. I feel like Anet is just trying to hide the major problems of this game and hope that it goes away. (Fact: It Doesn’t) So I wondered what some of the other player base feels.
Do you think they in game method of reporting people is satisfactory and Do you think anything is getting done about the reports? (If so: should Anet give us some type of communication about it ((I.E. In Gw1 they had a messege every time you logged in that they had banned people for doing some of the activities above.))
I would like the zergs to be gone too but I don’t think this is the way of doing it. If you want it even down to 1v1, then it will never be fixed, since not even the SPvP have even fights and that goes down to 5v5. I would accept some debuffs, but not to the line you have suggested, since being zerggy doesn’t mean you have to be debuffed to the point of not being able to do nothing. I would suggest content that works with smaller groups with organization/coordination. The only problem is they would have to redesign a lot of wvw so it doesn’t benefit from zerging so much.
Not a class. Its a buff the bosses have in the Queen’s Pavilion. Once you link it and mouse over it you crash and I don’t think they have fixed this bug yet.
Can’t log in. I click on the gw2.exe, it opens, does the little load thing, counts down (the auto-play opinion checked), and the game crashes. This is kinda odd because about an hour ago I could play so idk what happened.
It seems to me personally that the content bugs up a lot (which can be normal) but it seems like the same type of bugs. With almost every pvp type content like Aspect Arena) sigils/runes seem to always work when they first release it almost every singe time. And other bugs crashing your game. it just doesn’t seem like a good time personally to me. And I apologize when I’m doing an event in the Bazaar (or the Pavilion) and it takes 100 people to do. That tells me there is a zerg (A zerg is a large, loosely organized group of players with the goal of completing a task or series of tasks – wiki) doing the event.
So I know for some this was going to be big, for those who didn’t play these before could and relive some of the experiences we had before on some level. Now, I just see game breaking bugs (Aspect arena with sigils and the Crown Pavilion with the boss buff bug, although one was fixed), no loot in Crown Pavilion (with even having to pay to play the content in there) and just the zerg fest in Bazaar. So is this the content we are going to get now? Buggy content that we have to pay with either ingame or real money to start (AND having to pay for our reward with money as well) that is just a laggy zerg fest?
edit the use of real money is mostly gem to gold transaction when you absolutely have no gold left
If you link this effect into chat and mouse over it, you will crash. Please Anet fix this for the love of all things holy. Its not just me but friends and other people.
I’ve been thinking back to when these two areas was introduced into the game and I am wondering are the same venders going to be there this time and for how long these areas will be back? Has Anet ever said anything about these questions or does anyone have some information about them from sources other then forums? Thank you.
Problem is Anet doesn’t test any of it. They design, look at it for about 10 seconds and then put it in the game we the players test it. (This does not include the quality of the content itself either) I’ve based this opinion on the need to patch every single thing they put in (even with months of “making sure its correct”) and mostly within that day if not a hour or two of the updates going live. (Again does not include the quality of the content aka story or new mechanics they add which have problems their own)
Does anyone know if this has a limit? I have noticed mine has getting fuller and fuller because of the mass of gold sellers that a certain company can’t seem to control/fix. So I was wondering if I’m going to be stuck with a mass of whispers from sellers because my ignore list may not be big enough.
So I’ve been trying to find out the best stats for a lvl 80 Ele along with my build. Right now I’ve been trying out different weapon combos and found D/D, S/D and Staff may be class to what I want to use. My problem is I have no idea what my stats should look like.
Personally I would like some of my stats like:
15k health
2.5k armor
2k power.
Although this might sound balanced to me, I haven’t really found any easy way of doing this. I want to be able to do good damage while being able to take a little bit in case my dodges/skill rotation isn’t perfect.
TL;DR
What type of weapon/armor/trinket combos are there for balanced between PvE/WvW? I don’t mind having 1-2 different armor sets but I would like to have similar trinkets if i must switch.
I usually get on because of the friends I have made during my time in-game, not as much for the game itself. I hope in the future they add some expansions, similar to Gw1 with the other story lines, other places. The world used to be a lot bigger and then they shrunk it down so I hope it regains a portion of it in the near future.
I think Anet that you need to add a few more dailies to the list. Currently there is only 10 for PvE, WvW, and PvP, and this is all well and good, but your problem is it is going against what you preach about before you released the game in some areas. You said you wanted players to be able to play together and have no kill stealing. Well in some of the dailies, this is what happens with some of them (example: Daily Reviver). If you wish to do this in PvE it is kinda difficult because all the good spots for achieveing these are no longer good because the MegaServer sends like 50 people to these areas and in some areas (The Reacter where the creatures kill off npcs) you can catch some hate if you kill any creatures if people want to do Daily Reviver.
TL:DR
Please add more dailies so we have more of a chance not being forced into PvP/WvW and to promote a better playing experience not messing up other players because of lack of easy/good daily quest.
I know the past 2-3 times I’ve gotten puzzle discovery these jp have not counted and I even went and did Urmaug’s Secret completely and it didn’t count towards puzzle discovery either.
So I’ve have recently found out that Troll’s End and Urmaug’s Secret JP in LA no longer count to this daily achievement although both can be completed for Daily and Month Jumping Puzzle. So I’m wondering how many other JP no longer count toward this achievement.
I have not heard any news about it. The problem with race change in this game is that the personal story is partially linked to creating your character, so they would have to rework the code so that it will forget all about that and any advancement in that and reset it in a way that would allow it to work (at least my thoughts are how this would semi work). But i think because this takes time and I don’t know how much money they could make out of it, that they won’t do it, I mean look at all the bugs and exploits in this game, it won’t make them money to fix them so they don’t do it unless it breaks most of the game.
maybe this could be buff that would be placed on the map or on a structure. and I remember i believe Edge only worked if your health was so far down, so it wouldn’t be too much of a draw back.

Lore is not just the ruins of famous buildings. It sets up this game and its history without, I doubt they would have as big of a world or as diverse.) It affects how the NPCs treat each other, why the Destiny’s Edge hated each other, and even map completion. ie droknar’s forge, the original searing cauldron that killed so many people.
My apologies for assuming the sequel would be…Oh, I dunno…like the first. Is it my fault that people are leaving the game in droves for not containing key elements of GW1, too?
The problem with this part is this game plays very differently then in gw1. different skill system, weps, armor, traits, no wvw in gw1, pvp and pve very different. only one playable race. It does not surprise me that with change of combat and gamemodes that they changed party size. (In Gw1 the party size was dependant on the area you were going out in (starting zone was 4, end game zones were 8 ) and not everyone played GW1 as well.
People forget that GW2 is 250 years after GW1…………… I do not see how old lore could make it back into GW2 from GW1…..
If you want Guild Wars 1 lore, you are playing the wrong game. Guild Wars 2 is 250 years in the future, so things are forgotten.
Lets look at real life…. do you really care what happened 250 years ago?
the problem with this is how all the NPC’s treat each other can be semi based off of gw1 history (charr and humans). It even affects Map Completion and Events (as well as Personal Story). Without the history it would be a lot harder to explain stuff and connect some of the dots.
maybe make a way where you can go between the new orr and old orr if they made the maps different. (i thought i heard they was going to do a time warp portal thing for personal story that takes place in la so maybe something like that?)
Now I know the game is in for a bunch of changed and what I’m about to say doesn’t have to affect it but in a Living World, doesn’t thing usually get better? I mean we can have stuff that permanently changes the world but I don’t remember a lot of good things happening, like maybe with Orr? We “cleansed” it but nothing changed. But with Scarlet, things actually changes, like we got a tower, then blew it up. The land wasn’t ruined forever but there was damage. Are we ever going to see good things actually happen to the world instead of “Oh you beat Scarlet, Good job.”? And is a Living World just concerned with Living Story like if the Living Story doesn’t affect it, it shouldn’t do anything (like with the cleansing of Orr)? I’m just kind of curious.

I changed it to what I believe it has become. And if they changed the death zone to the entire world, it would actually have an impact since a single zone isn’t big enough.
Fine, I will not be self entitled anymore. I just wish when Mari failed it killed everyone on every map. Then it would be so much more “if events fail, there are consequences” going on.
