We have some thing that will be in the tests for the new map that will help WvW be more alt-friendly. We will talk more about it as we get closer to the test actually beginning.
whew, that is pretty funny to read. On the topic of Alt Friendlyness, how about we make the WxP exp/ranks account bound instead of soul bound. Almost everyone i’ve talked to ingame would love this idea because a lot of us play alts. You guys say it is a character progression system (even though the personal story ends at like lvl 20), however personally i would like my account to progess more in a WvW sense.
Oooh okay. That looks like a pretty nice build to me. I main engi so I’m not as well versed in the other professions but I think this could really go well with my play style. Btw Thank you Stx and everyone else for the advice and such
maybe we could get a few more opinions about it. Still have dagger but can switch for warhorn if needed. Was also thinking of traveler runes mostly for the extra movement speed but that is just me.
I know on our TS we have had to make a private protected channel so we can converse with each other because other server’s would come in and blast the most annoying sounds known to man in our ears loud enough to leave us ringing and with very bad headaches. I don’t think it says in the rules anywhere though that if two opposite sides meet, that you HAVE to fight them. But I agree double teaming is wrong as well.
We all paid the same amount to play the game. Everyone enjoys the game differently. some PvE. Some WvW. Some want to grind for achievements. You are saying because you play WvW only then people who don’t play the same as you should not be given priority. If you are que’d then I can promise you other people are too. I would either transfer or just wait it out. I play in bronze league and have experienced Que’s myself (maybe not as long) but I waited it out. Sorry, but can not do much else.
I am not really sure which type of build but found it here on the forums. I could switch traits and weapons and stuff around but I wasn’t sure in that regard as well as which type of equipment. If it is more of a power build should i invest into zerker type gear and not celestial like in the link?
Been leveling my Necromancer (at lvl 45 now). Been investigating different possibilities of what I could run. Really a lot harder then I thought. So the following build is something I’ve found. Idk if it is effective or just plain trash but it looked interesting to me, So I wanted to get a second opinion about it.
What I’ve found out is someone said they was using a build similar to this (changes runes from Divinity to Traveler). I believe it is a tank(ish) build for PvE and WvW. Personally just going to use such a build for open world PvE and while zerging around in WvW with my guild (no fractals or dungeons). So let the “You’re a noob/idiot” comments begin.

I am trying to come up with a half decent build for both PvE/WvW. I am not looking for the BEST build, but something that could work in both of those cases. For PvE, probably not going to set foot in a dungeon with this guy so it will most likely be open world pve, helping guildies and friends out stuff like that. For WvW probably just going to be in a guild group so not a lot of solo roaming.
Pretty much a shout AH guardian. Knights armor with mostly Berserker Trinkets.
Prolly most of the time looking to go with GS/Hammer or Hammer/Staff but going to keep a few more of the weapons like scepter for ranged situations and stuff.
Again, looking for feedback. Don’t want to be totally useless but don’t want to be totally “hard core zerker pro.” Thank you again for reading.
1. Account bound WXP Ranks – I want my account to move forward more than I want a single character to.
2. Skill lag in massive battles. – cant enjoy the fight if i can’t fight
3. Changes to zergs – reward organized groups differently then just a mindless blob of players.
For the people who cannot see the boulders, try setting the Character model limit and quality to medium (both) before the boulder scene. I’ve done this and since then I’ve been able to see them.
I can confirm. It’s broken. I wouldn’t expect a fix though. Devs don’t seem to care about little annoyances such as boulders in CoF not being visible for over a month now.
I think you might need to set your graphics up higher. try setting model limit and quality to medium.
Try turning your Character limit and quality to at least Medium. It has worked for more multiple times (and still works). Might have to change it before that room opens up though.
I doubt they can add just a log out timer for just WvW, and if they added it for everyone, then someone else would complain about it. You are basically saying to waste someones time/punish them from closing out their game (which I’ve had times i had to go and close off my game quickly).
TL:DR
Yes it can be a problem but I don’t think the solution is just that simple. As well as this really only affects the top tiers, so I don’t think its a major issue. Sorry for your bad luck.
This thread has popped up a lot of times. Some agree, some don’t. A couple solutions would be decrease the amount of damage they can do or have a difference between whether a player can attack a reinforced/unreinforced door. The problem is how the game works and you got to balance it on both sides. Personally I am on a lower server so i don’t see this as much.
I have never seen or heard of one game that at least one person did not complain about. The game is what you make of it. If you expect one thing and don’t get it, then you cry about it. This game is not perfect, but I can still play it because it can better then most other games that I’ve play and are sick about. They have done good and bad things. I am here to focus on the good stuff and to play with some good friends. That is all. Thank you.
well they could start by making the outmanned thing ACTUALLY useful. If they are going to add more stats for the ppl with more numbers why the hell not give the outmanned guys more stats. Its not fair in any kitten sense to give the winning side more reason to keep on winning. MAKE OUT MANNED USEFUL. No one wants stupid MF in effin wvw. No one comes to wvw to use mf.
the reason why they don’t want it useful is because they don’t want users to start relying on it, which i can see but in its current case its completely useless (only “useful” thing is no armor repairs). come on Anet please make it slightly useful. unless you don’t care about the side getting steamrolled.
GG again Anet. Because of leagues none of the serious WvWer’s on HoD want to WvW this week because we don’t want to be at the bottom of the silver league or whatever one is going to be the middle. Personally I could care less but because of this it makes guilds a B**** fest and interferes with the game i enjoy.
here is Teq on HoD main after the update. GG Anet. It went from 10 ppl doing the event to no people doing the event. Amazing seeing a world boss hide behind a bone wall for 15 minutes.
god anet please do something about dem down skills. almost every other class have something that helps res them (guardians and rangers) or something that could stealth them or teleport them (mesmers, eles, thiefs) something that could even fear or just rise up all together (necro and warriors) but the engi has a rope, bolts, and an explosion, and pretty much worthless in both pve, wvw, and pvp (too many counters in wvw/pvp and if your target is not almost dead in pve, you can’t do the damage to kill them)
I know people in my guild (along with me) have just been sending these to other guild members, sharing the love. (Sending about 1000 of them at once to a person is just too funny).
Ever since this reset HoD has been having massive lag in EB EVERYWHERE and people keep getting dropped (highest I’ve heard was 8 times.) has anyone else been having these problems?
So really the only way to define GvG here is its organized than other battles, because i’ve seen large guild groups meet up and battle it out but just because they got in our way, its going to happen. Idk why they call it Guild Wars 2 if there is no guild wars in it.
Over the last about couple months I have noticed something being on HoD. That is we have not been fighting for first place, its always second. Just due to numbers one of the servers have (coverage etc) compared to the other 2 (usually us and a different server) we just cant compete. Don’t get me wrong I don’t want to just get first place every week, steam rolling other servers but i want a chance at first, not just second. (i.e. last time I checked the score board it was closer in points to 300k, 125k, 123k not very exciting to me but that is just my opinion.)
Okay, lets get a tally of how many servers have beaten Teq without using a TS or similar software, because i have heard of none, but have heard a lot of complaints of people not being on TS makes them fail.
Probably going to take a lot of heat for this but really Anet? I understand if you want to make challenging content (some say impossible) but for this you are 99% required to use some sort of TS, Vent, Mumble etc. How about we not make content so hard you have to have another program to play it? Just my opinion (although forgive my ignorance I kinda think this would go with that 3rd party program thing but maybe I’m just an idiot.)
I have been on HoD for a while now and its not that players don’t care (some don’t but for the most part), it seems that we cannot organize the main map and several overflows at once, and it spills over into other servers, thus we get even less people where we need them and we get some that have a chance at beating him, some that just try and get any of his health down, and the final few that just give up because they know that they will not be able to win either by numbers or organization.
TL;DR
Try and not make content that requires 3rd party software i.e. (TS, Vent, Mumble), and just a bit more easier i.e. (maybe some scale?)
i have a ranger alt. prolly dont know them as well as others do but from the small amount i have played, i can say its not perfect (no class is) but its playable. sure its not gonna burst like a warrior, it might not have as much utility of a mesmer, but it has its place. personally yes i can see they might need to improve some things but i wont say its either totally perfect or totally horrid.
i think one problem with this is, charr is the least played race in all of them, and of that most people play a male one (i do too, but i never play a female char).
i feel like the new system is they put numbers in a hat and then select the servers based on that. the personal reason i say this is the end point system i.e. its usually about 250k, 90k, 80k in points, with the old system (wasn’t perfect) i think it was more even fights (on most occasions) but with the new one its not a fight about who comes in first, but who comes in second. and its happened for the last couple months.
I main engi. Loved the class, 2 character i ever made (first was thief but found out wasn’t to interested in them) and only have a few complaints. I would love to see not as much RNG in some of our skills i.e. Elixir H and Elixir X (Great skill, but i always get the thing that doesn’t help me out much and i either have to exit and wait over a minute to try again or just roll with it and hope i don’t get stomped (killed)), Turrets: would love to see a little more survivability and little bit damage, maybe would use them more often, and lastly downed skills, just feel like other classes have a lot better choices for theirs then engineers do. that is all. hope i did not rant.
So I main engineer, but would like some more ways to play. got a guardian and mesmer besides my ranger and engi. Tried thief but not my cup of tea so to speak. I am at about lvl 70 on my ranger so now my problem hits me. I’ve been researching about different types of builds since i’m no ranger expert but it seems like they are all outdated or not exactly my play style, which is more of a low maintenance type build.
so TL;DR Need to find a nice ranger build for PvE/Dungeon and WvW. Can be one entire build or to separate builds idc. maybe even PvE/WvW and Dungeon style.
This build is what i’ve kinda theorycrafted. Trying to find a build that uses Shortbow and Longbow but am open to Greatsword and like Axes or Axe/Torch. In the link its SB/LB with defensive armor and offensive trinkets and weapons. It would most likely be used in open world PvE.

This has happened to me multiple times and did the same thing but posted in dungeon part of forums. To their advice just either get a Mesmer or play a Mesmer. Its never lets fix it or report the problem its just play a different class.
I think with one of the last patches it introduced a glitch or bug into this part of the dungeon, or my settings are too low, but when we get to the boulder section the boulders can be invisible and you see a slight shadow. has been happening for the past couple times for me and various guildies and it might not make it unplaybale, it makes it annoying as hell and in my opinion a little bit harder.
dude stop being kitten, its called the CHARRzooka, not the ASURAzooka. charr deal with mechanical war and i think had more of a role in engineering while the asurans deal with the eternal alchemy and magic. not only 2 separate things but it would go against the lore about both races.
god I don’t know where to even start with this one.
1. I would love to see stealth stomping atleast changed, since it is saying that no matter what, you are dead, if you have an entire zerg with you or 1v1 not much is going to save your sorry kitten .
2. The belief that when you go down you should no chance. not totally true, if you are good enough (meaning lucky), i’ve had many a time where we both went down, and it was down to just those skills, so i think we should have a chance to get back up with them, if not, why even have that system when that was what they advertised?
just my opinion as everyone has already shared theirs.
That kinda sad, because they are not offering just the “Heroic Edition” items (as far as i’m aware), so now if any of the people who already bought the digital and want any of those items, we have to pay about 20 bucks for a couple new items, then the 20 bucks we used back when we got 5 new items.
I think the fact of the matter is, they just become what everyone thinks they are: annoying. They might be able to go around and just 1-shot people, but they are still annoying and i just don’t think people will forget that.
Really, i don’t care if its a thief, a guardian, or an undead chicken; i just want to be able to use my downed skills for what it was designed, to give me a 1 in a million chance to rally. if i don’t even get the chance, just let my char die and let me get back into battle. (Might just be because i’m a horrible player idk and idc)
Time to change this since its just ending up with the same thing. I hate the downed state is a lot of times useless in WvW, maybe do to a perma stealth thief or in huge zerg fights. maybe buff the skills up a little or change some of the mechanics of it i.e. “Finish Him!”
I know we have updates, I know sometimes they will give a warning but seriously, on HoD server whenever we are paired up with NSP, whenever they take SM or whenever we are taking something important like SM or a Keep, they have a patch and we know they have staff there. ~rant over~
