GAME CHANGER
Just remembered a major downside to Infinite Light.
The icon for your inventory is a lame standard sword.
So there you are trying to switch back from D/P or D/D or something to a S/x kit before you get back into combat and you equip some junk blue sword by accident!
Booooo, fix it Anet!
Also, might be cool if the glowing runes started to glow when you draw the sword instead of on all the time.
invisible bag can help. i keep all consumables and gear swaps inside invisible bags and have the last bag slot hold the invisible bag itself. everything i need is currently at the bottom of my inventory no matter how many times i press the deposit collectables + sort button
800 opened here
11 risen knights
way too many taffy
nothing else notable
just my perception, but since launch, every 2 hours netted me 250 coffers. i know, i timed it and sold them when i hit a full stack. since the patch, i’ve gotten 150-170 per 2 hours. the kill speed is the same as i had overkill aoe(they died within 3 seconds pre and post patch) so the only difference is the added 3 seconds for invuln, which shouldn’t offset my hourly rate. i’ve stayed in the same zones every time, so that’s not a variable. gear hasn’t changed.
i often go 2-3 nodes with only taffy dropping and usually it’s 1 coffer per node. i used to get 2-6 per node pre patch.
call me crazy but over 2k coffers sold…i can feel a difference
Even going as fast as we could me and one other made around 250 coffers each after about 4 hours, and this was in zones with only 1 or 2 other people in them doing the same, and we had little or no need to wait for a node to respawn. 250 in 2 hours… I dont think so, for starters the maximum number of coffers ive ever gotten from a node (ie the 4 holograms) was 4, 1 from each hologram npc, most ive ever got at one time is 5 and that is with a drop from some other stray npc that gets hit by the aoes and getting lucky and having each holo drop a coffer themselves.
That being said, getting 3-4 coffers per node feels alot rarer from my own personal experience tonight, sure it was uncommon before, but does feel like its not as often, i am seeing quite a few more single coffers only compared to pre change. Although oddly for me Ive had alot fewer ‘nothing but candy’ streeks.
Its pretty much up to oens own personal perception, and im sure none of us are really right about it.
i think so. my mule farmed 97 in an hour, 97×2 = 194, a clear reduction in drops from my 250, which was a conservative estimate in 2 hours for my farming method. my numbers improved since i was farming alone this morning, but the reduction in drops is not commensurate with the buffed holos(non factor). if my OP came across as whiny, that wasn’t the intent. it was to show the reduction in coffer acquisition from holos since yesterday’s patch in comparison to dragon bash’s launch.

are you running to each node? i only use wp’s. now that profitability has been sliced, i’ll most likely farm them only to open instead of selling

do what makes you happy. it doesn’t really matter who has it or how many has what you have if the real value lies in how you like it. what are the odds you’d run into someone with bolt on your server as opposed to infinite light? i know on ET, i have yet to see an infinite light and the only other person with bolt is my friend and we crafted them together on the same day.
i was going to craft infinite light at some point, but to avoid the grind for the next BiS weapon, i made bolt instead. i’m very happy with it, since i paired it up with FSP and they look amazing together on my guard.
now if there was a lightning-themed gs, i’d be all over that too…i settled for the foefire gs until something new that i like is released.
the only essentials are WoR, SoA(trait accordingly for WoR) and a scepter unless you’re a boss at dodging and only melee. staff can be useful for the might stacks. i don’t use staff as i feel it’s a waste of my time and in case we are in combat i can’t switch to my dps loadout.
everything else is gravy. i’ve run fotm 40-49 many times with all kinds of builds, full clerics, full zerkers, support, bunker, boon dispenser, AHEM, meditation, etc.
aside from the commensurate AR, other helpful things are potent potions of slaying for each boss type, food buffs and communicating WoR and SoA order if there’s more than 1 guard.
already got bored of the set i made last week. here’s another….
no cool pose this time…just standard view
the 4th iteration of my guardian’s custom armor set. none of them have ever been revealing….
if i find other pictures i’ll share
i think scepter is the highest single target dps for a stationary target. otherwise the prize goes to 1hs
scepter is still the highest single target dmg for non moving targets.
You go from “thinking” to a bold claim with one post. Care to substantiate that statement?
If you go to the mists with a stopwatch and test it on a heavy golem, scepter will kill the golem in 6.2 – 6.4 seconds while sword will take 6.8 – 7.1 seconds. I was able to get the sword as low as 6.4 seconds, but that was definitely not the norm. I haven’t tested the mace out on the golems yet.
As a side-note, GS will down a heavy golem in 5.4 seconds, but that is due to being able to burst with #4 & #2. When on cool-down, GS DPS drops off quite a bit. Also, since I have about 50% less +Crit-Damage in the mists then I do in my PvE/WvW gear, you don’t see as much benefit from right-handed strength on the golems. I kill mobs in Orr with a 1-h sword before the burning from activating justice wears off. GS seems like an eternity in comparison.
Scepter = best single-target sustained DPS if they stand in the smite
1h-sword = best single-target DPS for killing things that don’t stand in the fireMy personal experience with the scepter is that it works the best when you treat it like a melee weapon with extended range. If you can stay around 250-300 from your target, the orbs tend to hit without issue. If you go 600 – 1200 from your target, better hope your target is a wall.
thank you for proving my point. there’s a research thread buried many pages back comparing all the guardian weapon dps…and I can’t find it to show the numbers, but scepter is the highest single target dps for a non moving target.
I’ve spent over 1k hours with scepter/sword//shield and gs. sometimes it is faster and safer to smite a downed target than to try and stomp. scepter2, dodge, rear view + gs3 will save your life if you are <50% hp in a 1vx
Kiba, in so far as my query is concerned, your argument is invalid. Higher leveled characters revisit an area like Godslost Swamp for the meta event, and the reward(s) it offers, alone. Then they leave. They do not stay. The fact of the matter is that Queensdale has actually very little of any content apart from the meta event to offer any player, of any level. Oh, a couple of reknown heart quests and a couple pre-events that lead up to the meta event, but by and large nothing else. Most of the time when the Swamp is “dormant” the area itself is just as vacant as Times Square on 1st January at 3am… But Queensdale is only an example of where such faulty reward placement is taking place in game. I can think of at least a dozen jumping puzzles in the game where the reward is not commiserate to the challenge the player(s) must undertake to win access to them, either. The game does a wonderful job of scaling up difficulty to meet the demands of a greater amount of participants. But not nearly so well when the participants are far fewer in number; or a player is going it solo. S/he is scaled down, but the magnitude of the forces s/he must face in opposition does not scale down. Thus rendering it nigh impossible to procure the reward(s), at all. Or, if s/he, by great luck, does manage to reach the prize, s/he finds it was/is hardly worth the effort and or frustration endured. Moreover, the respawn rate of the foes found in these same problem areas in the game can prove quite insane….
firstly, people are calling out troll, oak, wasp all the time in queens. spend some time there yourself if you haven’t. on ET, we do all of them and the attendance ranges from low to 80’s.
secondly, jumping puzzles are not for the reward at the end. chests give miserable loot in general. why expect an exotic or a rare at the end of the jp? those jp’s are meant to showcase some more hidden locales in the game and some of them are just spectacular(crystal caverns, cubular bells, branded mine, hexfoundry unhinged for example) and i have every single jp unlocked and revisit multiple times for the wow factor.
you seem to be under the assumption that loot = end game. if you are positing that as your argument, then it’s pointless to bring up jp’s as the loot is in general terrible.
your counter to my argument is as far as i’m concerned, invalid.
yup. i find that people confuse beam attacks with projectile attacks. different birds, friends, different birds.
What does Sword 1h do? Is it ever justified?
1h is the highest single target weapon we have. You can argue and say scepter is, but until they fix the scepter’s auto speed. I’m going to say no.
i think scepter is the highest single target dps for a stationary target. otherwise the prize goes to 1hs
scepters shots dont always land though.
you missed the point. a stationary target will receive all the hits from smite.
now if that target has aegis or block, well it won’t matter what weapon it is, now will it? scepter is still the highest single target dmg for non moving targets.

Somebody willing to purchase some exos to see if there’s a difference between exos and rares? Don’t have that much gold right now
if you have some blsk’s laying around, just do a quick margin calculation and front the cost for some exos. you’ll break even or make some back in addition to the free ecto and…for science!
Don’t know if I’m even adding anything, but since the last patch, I haven’t been able to get more than 1 Ecto out of a single rare even using Black Lion kits.
not sure if this is isolated to rares only, but i’ve salvaged exotics for ‘free’ ectos for awhile now, including the past few days and even this morning. using blsk’s, i haven’t seen a deviation from the norm. i’m still getting 2 and 3 ectos from exos in addition to the normal spread of 1’s and 0’s. for example, i received 7 ectos from 6 exotics this morning.
by no means do i salvage as heavily as some of you here, but i haven’t noticed a change in the past 8 months in regards to exotics. in regards to rares, i have no idea as i never salvage rares unless they are SB
how about bringing people back into lower level zones so they stay populated? otherwise queensdale would be a ghost town aside from the random dailies requiring 40 krytan kills or 4 events in kryta.
the whole point is to reward players for traveling to all the different zones in the game so not everyone is concentrated in orr, frostgorge or southsun

i’m saying that 10 points in radiance is wasted, so almost anything is better than that, since your build does not use precision. even 100 more power or 10% virtue cd reduction +10% boon duration is more useful. if you think that using 10 trait points just to unlock a 20% sig reduction so your heal downtime is 8 seconds shorter….then go for it. there’s just no synergy.
i ran with sword for almost 1000 hours so i’m used to the mobility and projectile negation it offers. the speed of attacks is also appealing to me over mace, however, i agree with you that mace is much better as a team-oriented support guardian.
in regards to staff, i just keep 1 in my bag. no reason not to. i prefer gs for the all around utility it offers. might stacking on auto(70% boon duration), small burst(if you land all of gs2), a gap closer with blind, retal and cc. as a bonus, when you come across a player with stability or a creature with defiance, use gs5, but don’t trigger pull. extra dmg ticks never hurt. i rarely ever see another guardian do this…is it that overlooked?
as for your build comparison…it’s more complicated than just absolute resolution versus altruistic healing. to keep it short, the use of ah in your build will outheal the passive in mine. you are dispensing boons like crazy, which is great for your team.
the builds are focused on 2 different things, however. i maintain that condi removal is one of my highest priorities, while your build focuses(from what i see) on spreading boons and self heals from ah.
one thing i see as a weakness is the 10 in radiance. the precision is wasted and using a trait for one utility is a waste IMO, unless you are using other sigs. i prefer shelter as the 2s block is invaluable.
here’s something for you to consider….will you be taking that much dmg that you will need that huge stream of healing from ah? or are you focused on mitigating dmg for yourself and your team, in which case, bigger heals are more important for the attacks you can’t avoid? because i see a problem of overhealing in general when people go full support with guardian. you can’t go full bunker and utilize small heals over time because you’re mitigating attacks and whatever sacrifices you made in other stats for those small heals is wasted. just my 2 copper.
i use shield for pushing people off cliffs/bridges in wvw or negating stomps. in pve it is less important, but again, i’m used to it when paired with sword. sh5 can be a great on demand projectile denial, but f5 also offers that. the extra heal from sh5 is a bonus if i miss the projectile denial. focus is great for team play in pve. i would stick to it if i were a new guardian, but…well old habits die hard

first pic: gs(energy)
second pic: sword(force)/shield(energy) or scepter(life)
third pic: traits
unbuffed stats, numbers should be self explanatory.
armor is full clerics with 2x water and 4x altruism.
trinkets are full clerics with soldier back.
weapons are full ptv.
this has gotten me through wvw and all pve content successfully. i used to run the ahem build, but it got so boring so fast. once i started pvping, i switched over to full clerics and it somehow leaked over into my pvx/wvw.
my previous iteration was:
0
0
30(iv, ix, xi)
30(ii, ix, xi)
10(vi)
i gave up 10 in valor because i didn’t make use of xi all too often even though i was moderately dispensing boons. once i switched over to ix in virtues, i noticed how powerful the passive regen became. in addition to almost double the more passive regen, i now had even more condi removal(maybe overkill, but i find you can never have enough condi removal, especially in wvw or dungeons) and an extra heal in sanc with the option to rez almost uninterrupted. as a bonus, you can swap out the last utility with wor or hallowed ground for more stability or purging flames for more dps and condi removal as you desire.
this isn’t the highest dps build out there, but it’s how i like to play and frankly, hardly downing or dying in fotm 48, any dungeon, frontline wvw(sanc for breaking up z stacks) works for me.
as a final note, i’ve come to realize that in wvw, having huge hp with huge toughness doesn’t mean anything. what’s more important IMO is having high toughness with on demand condi removal. nothing spells death more than being crippled/immob when you’re on the frontlines
[edit]
if you’re running dungeons or small group rampaging in wvw, bring a staff. clerics(energy)
[edit2]
i made a mistake with absolute resolution. the trait increases regen by 25%, not 50%. i have no idea where i got double from; perhaps the 12xx healing power scaling with absolute resolution versus the ahem build i was running before had double the passive regen. sorry for the mistake.

perhaps you should stick to the op’s issues contained in this thread instead of reaching out to other perceived problems. i’m not offering it up as a fix for any and all problems. i’m offering it up as a fix for the op’s 2 problems. if you can’t see something that obvious or literal then there’s nothing more to discuss
hyperbole indeed
Sorry, if you had actually bothered to read the op, it is about the mechanics of certain encounters. Explain to me how your suggestion “guesting” has anything whatsoever to do with the mechanics of those encounters he is talking about?
Hint: Nothing
What it does do is say “Ignore it, just go somewhere else where it’s already been done”
smhThe OP, if you’d bothered to read it, says he has what he needs to get the rest of his armor but on his server, the temples are never taken. THAT is his problem, no matter what the title of the thread is that was what was said. Sure he’d frustrated by the hard encounter but the bottom line is he wants the armor he has saved his karma for. To buy that armor, you need to get to an open temple. There are servers that have temples open daily….just not his.
His problem as stated in the post is solved by guesting. The encounters themselves were meant to be hard. There are tons of people complaining there isn’t enough hard content in the game. Orr is meant to be end game content. It really is supposed to be hard.
Of course, dealing with a pug to take a temple is harder than dealing with a guild to take a temple. Just be happy I didn’t tell him to join a guild too. lol
Let me quote the op " Ridiculous and infuriating encounters", That was the title.
First paragraph: “I’ve been playing GW2 for a while and have even been a big advocate to my friends. Unfortunately, I’ve run into one too many infuriating encounters and have really soured on it.” Hmm, mentions encounters being infuriating.
Second paragraph: “You know, those encounters where two of you stumble on a village that’s under assault, and NOTHING says “[GROUP]”. Yet the bad guys keep respawning in twos and threes faster than the two of you can possibly kill them.”
Here the op is talking about encounters that are overpowered, even though they don’t say [GROUP]Third Paragraph: “Or Orr, where I’ve logged in twice a day for a week and couldn’t find a single temple that’s open. (The Narthax was open for about five minutes before it was raided and I was slaughtered.) So a bunch of us try Grenth. First stage, ok. Second stage wipe, but recovered and won. Third stage, someone lured the spider to the NPC and the NPC called it quits. 20+ minutes (or was it 30 or even 45, I lost track) of a 15-20 folks time and, nothing to show for it.” Here the op talks about encounters that he feels are broken or overpowered or that the mechanics are frustrating.
Fourth paragraph: “So I’m sitting on enough karma to get the last two pieces of gear, but there’s nowhere to get it. How ridiculous.” Here is the one and only place he talks about having enough karma to get his gear, but that is it. He isn’t saying he needs more people, or that he wants to know how to get his gear
Summary paragraph: " GW2 is different from other games in its mechanics and I like that a lot. The encounter designs are way, way behind the times, though. There’s either no scaling concept, or it’s so poorly implemented that once a tough group fails, every smaller group that comes along will be overwhelmed. It’s infuriating." Here, again, he mentions encounter mechanics.
I’m glad you decided to take one single sentence out of context to try and prove your point, but in actuality you ended up proving mine. Awhile back you mentioned about taking your statements out of context, and I responded that you do the same exact thing on these boards. Thank you for proving it.
you proved the 2 issues the op had, so thank you for that. you’re taking the title out of context of what is contained within as subject material. he says infuriating encounters, plural.
those non group encounters are 1. he isn’t looking for a solution to that, so i posted none. he made a comment about how they are unbalanced, that is all.
he then makes mention of trying to find open temples, in specific, 2. grenth and the narthex(which is not even a temple, but has a temple vendor). these temple encounters make up the 2nd portion of his enounters issues. but here, he makes a comment about needing something, having the currency to buy it, but is unable due to the event not completing.
i offered guesting as a solution to both(read: 2[grenth and the narthex](and other temples since he mentioned them in his post)]), which satisfies the conditions to fix his encounters issue.
perhaps someone should revisit argumentation again.
perhaps you should stick to the op’s issues contained in this thread instead of reaching out to other perceived problems. i’m not offering it up as a fix for any and all problems. i’m offering it up as a fix for the op’s 2 problems. if you can’t see something that obvious or literal then there’s nothing more to discuss
hyperbole indeed
I love how guesting went from “Play with your friends” to “Fixes any and all problems in the game for everyone”. All games should just use guesting from here on out to scapegoat anyone who has an issue with anything.
“Does your game suffer from not having enough invested population? Try new and improved guesting!! Even removes hard water stains!”
hyperbole
op was having issues with temple and group events. that’s 2 problems, not ‘any and all.’
your hypothetical won’t apply here. i’ve personally been to TC to farm sparks after dwayna on multiple instances and done balth without ever encountering overflow. in fact, i’ve never experienced overflow in orr nor heard about it from anyone else in my 496 member guild or in /m ever.
the event chain for temples requires a bigger time sink vs reward in comparison to your quoted world events. that’s why you will never see overflow for any temple clearing. ever.
if your server cannot finish or do the temples, then use guesting. it’s there for a reason. no one said we would have absolute access to the temples whenever we wanted. anet gave us the opportunity to clear them and it’s on you and your server to do so or use the tools that anet graciously gave you, aka guesting.
unless you are against guesting, try these:

i had it in my mind to spend 25g for gem conversion to see if i could get a ticket from the crates and another 25g after if i didn’t. so 50g in total.
anyway, went to ss after i woke up early and couldn’t get back to sleep and in the second crate the dropped, i received a ticket.
guess i won’t be spending that g after all, but yes, i would have. just set limits on how much you want to spend and have the willpower to stop yourself when you get there. i find that people in general don’t have any willpower when it comes to games of chance. the thrill of winning on the ‘next one-more try’ is very alluring…enough to make people do things they didn’t want to initially.
not sure if this matters, but karma gear can’t be salvaged nor MF’d unless anet changed something in the last patch…it’s been this way for months now.
my main has fine infusions in her ascended trinks. 2 of my other 80’s in 5/6 ascended gear might get fine infusions too(i don’t run fotm with them, but the laurel ones are +4) as soon as i get 6/6 for them. my other 80’s idc as they are only there to check for events/mine ori
money sink? totally. for perfectionist min/maxers? totally. doesn’t bother me one bit. if people think the prices are exorbitant, then just buy the laurel versions….
thanks for the replies!
so i’ve switched out tolerance for signet use and yes it totally makes sense to use signet of agility over shadows. do you think it’s overkill to swap 10 in DA for SA to grab shadow’s embrace? with IS’s condition removal along with the signet of agility, i don’t think i’ll need to use stealth to remove additional conditions, but i guess i can play around with that later as it’s only a retrait. the difference is losing out on 100 power for 100 armor, but i gain almost 4% dmg reduction in the process if i fail to time my dodges correctly.
also, rune of the air will interrupt my stealth, so that’s another reason why i shouldn’t take embrace. i’m not against using stealth…it’s situational, but i’m not into disappearing so often that i drop my dps(maybe take up hidden killer?) at this point, taking lyssa runes does seem to be a bit overkill….mm more choices
anyway, thanks again! i will definitely try out the proposed changes
hello all-
new to thieves here and since the patch made them more appealing, i decided to give them a try.
before i go on, i want to point out that i would be running dungeons/fotm and possibly wvw. i have an effective build on my guard that i use for hotjoins so i’m not looking for pvp with a thief..yet anyway.
here is the current build i’m working with:
i’m a little flexible with the way traits are distributed, though i would like to retain the 30 in CS and possibly 20 in acro. 10 in DA seems like a waste just to access the heal from mug, but having an extra heal is handy. i’m not asking for something amazing like a super bursty+bunker build because frankly i don’t believe any profession is going have superb damage, control and support all at the same time. my thief i want to have great dps while having access to condition removals. being tanky is not something i want to excel in.
also, if possible, i want to avoid SA because i don’t have any real use for stealth outside of wvw and i can retrait for it if need. i chose runes of the air because the extra 3-4k hits will come in handy, though if i’ll be dodging often, perhaps lyssa would be better to clear conditions when i use bas venom or dagger storm?
tl;dr-
how do i gain access to condition removal that withdraw/dodging won’t grant me on a more reliable basis than 45sec cd from traits/lyssa runes while avoiding 10 in SA? if i MUST, i will trait for shadow’s embrace, but to me, it’s wasteful, just like i’m currently using 10 in DA for the heal on mug.
anyway, thanks all!
i hope to learn more(than i already am) from your videos and useful threads =]
gz on the bolt!
don’t let naysayers get to you about s/s guards. my main is s/s with bolt and flameseeker prophesies and i tear it up wherever i go =]
yes on ET green keep in eb has been green for months. I’ve tried with pushes for over 3 hours many times for naught.
after going with humans exclusively for over 1500 hours, i finally caved and went with a different race. sylvari really piqued my interest and i must say that i am the most satisfied visually when looking at my sylvari
no other race can produce such a sly, foxy, curious and irresistibly suspicious expression. i’ve tried
prices will never be static in an open market(as open as ours is anyway). the fact that you can buy mats at whatever price they are going for voids your argument.
as for legendary weapons dropping, I could care less. I own two and would love to see more people with them. maybe I’m in the minority when I say this, but the skins have intrinsic value to me that is not diminished by how many others have them. I could care less about being a snowflake because exclusivity doesn’t increase an item’s value in my eyes, which is unlike most players’ expectations
try using the wiki…
here’s one for example
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bramblethorne
6.2g buy out
4.4g buy order
hit 80 in 36 hours and went traipsing all over orr to get my base armor stats for xmutation. finished it all today =]
Hi everyone!
Recently I got this desire to get a Legendary for fun but I go back and forth on the idea, like it sounds exciting and challenging but is the time spent on it, worth it?
I would like the know from anyone that has or is trying to get a Legendary, what really made you to try/get a Legendary? Or what turn you off from it?
Did anyone give up? Why?
What was the hardest part?
How did you feel when you did finally get it?
How long did it take?
Would you go for another? One is definitely enough for me LOL.THANKS for commenting!
1. i liked the way the skins looked. also they will be automatically upgraded to match the best tier in weapon stats, forever, so no more grinding for weapons of those types
2. nothing was difficult. sometimes having a pve server that cares nothing for wvw can make it a bit more annoying to 100% wvw maps, but that’s all
3. amazing. my guildie and i both made bolt a day apart and i found new friends while farming for the mats(he even made a legendary too[in about 150 hours] after we chatted about it)
4. 400 hours for each
5. sure, taking my time with the 3rd(not actively pursuing it)
my advice is go for what makes you happy. if you like the way the skins look, then make legendaries. the free stat upgrades are a bonus
I believe you will find that there are exactly 0 scenarios in Guild Wars 2 where your base stats are not taken into account.
Jumping puzzles.
Actually in some cases your base stats are taken into account, even in jumping puzzles. Many of them have monsters within them that you have to kill. In others there are times when you’ll fall and survive and can continue from there, where other people might just die.
falling dmg is a % of your hp.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Falling#Falling_damage
Really, if you care about 20 more precision, or 25 more power, then you need to man up and really stop whining. You really WON’T feel the difference (except in Fractals with Agony resistance).
just some quick and easy math
i run full clerics, so these numbers will not reflect the backpiece
5x sapphire ori trinkets = 461 healing power
-2x rings(184) + 2x accessories(162) + amulet(115)
5x ascended trinkets = 543 healing power
-2x rings(206) + 2x accessories(181) + amulet(126) + 2x omni fine infusions(10) + 4x fine infusions(20)
pretty big difference, as i’ve survived countless times in wvw and dungeons by less than 50hp, where that extra 82 healing power made a difference when i used my heals.
not arguing for either want or need, but i’m saying from my experience, it is quite nice to have those extra stats regardless of want or need

yes, there is no cleric’s ascended backpiece, but i can still upgrade it with a fine infusion, hence the 6th +5 healing power infusion

what i don’t get is, why complain about a free heal, even if you don’t buff/trait vor or use any kind of healing power. if the heal isn’t worth it, just use the passive and be happy you have it
strange post is strange
I believe the sword out DPS the mace by a considerable margin. True each mace attack hits for more damage, but the sword attacks much faster. The sword attacks 4 times to the mace’s every 3 and the swords 3rd attack is guaranteed to attack three times even on single targets which means on single target bosses it actually attacks 6 times for every 3 mace attacks. Although I do agree the swords alternative skills are lacking in a PVE environment.
Just to let you know mace dps>sword dps but sword dot>mace dot. So over time to the same target you could deal more damage but unless that target is a dungeon boss that’s not likely as with the mace most targets don’t live long enough for sword damage to be better.
impossible. check the link i posted. the sword dps > mace dps. i don’t understand what you mean by dps vs dot because the sword does not have any form of dot….
as far as any type of foe, sword will kill it faster. just time it with a stopwatch if you don’t believe me. i’ve got almost 1500 hours alone on both my guards and i can tell you in very few situations will the mace outdo the sword’s damage
