I think this system is a large step forward from GW1’s profession specific armor. I understand you would like to stand out more as ‘a necromancer’, but what does that actually mean? Does that mean you should be wearing green fuming armor, or lot’s of skulls? Any of those cliché’s?

Personally I’m glad to be done with that. I don’t want my necromancer to look like the most socially inept creep, but rather a civilised, high ranked member of the community, that just happens to be adept at necromancer magic.

The thing is, if you want to look like the cliché (by lack of better words) image of ‘a necromancer’, you can. You can look like whatever you want really. Also, I believe there are already a few vanity boast items, such as legendaries and special dyes, and instead of boosting variety they end up being the standard look you see everywhere, ruining any special value it has.

But that’s just my 2 cents really.

by the same token, you can ignore the profession specific armor and be happy looking civilized

i’m sure i missed it somewhere, but should i craft any pvp skins before the 15th with the mats acquired from pvp reward bags/chests? i didn’t see any mention of these skins being craftable via pvp post content patch nor anything about the mats being usable.

this non-heavy, heavy armor landed me third place out of 500+ entries on gameskinny. part of the fun is guessing which pieces were mixed and matched. details will be given if requested. it’s still one of my favorite iterations on my guardian, though i’ve moved onto different setups since then.

Her secret is she died a very long time ago to Scarlet before we even knew about her and she used her Mesmer magic to make her last clone last until it finishes it’s mission. Once Scarlet dies she’ll reveal this to Marjory and we’ll have a sad, dramatic scene of them saying goodbye to eachother~ then the clone explodes…

Seriously, though, I’m getting a vibe that Kasmeer is just who she says she is…only she’s about to go bad on us. She’s been harboring resentment against the other nobles of DR for years for what was done to her family, remember. Then we have the finger-pricking incident, the perilous pursuit of Scarlet, and the lurking menace of ED corruption she must encounter in her travels.

Many have hypothesized the Scarlet will die at the end of the LS arc, perhaps in the act of redeeming herself. But somebody’s gonna have to take up the mantle of Bad Guy/Gal…

But Kasmeer and Delaqua are an analogue for Lyssa, so they’re sort of a package deal. Braham, Rox, Kasmeer/Delaqua, Canach, Taimi, and E aren’t Destiny’s Edge 2.0, they’re the six Gods 2.0, no longer human-only.

Braham: A guardian. Basically, a courageous warrior who lights things on fire. Balthazar, obvs.

Rox: A ranger (in GW1, they were explicitly linked to Melandru). Also, a miner. Name sounds like Rocks. Nature + Earth = Melandru.

Kasmeer/Delaqua: What’s Lyssa all about? Illusion (Kasmeer), Water (“Del Aqua”), Beauty (depends on your taste), and two women entwined tog… uh, I’ll be in my bunk.

Canach: Was a pretty hero Sylvari, then got all grim and dark looking, and acting, but still sort of a good guy. What with Grenth being sort of a better-than-the-alternative deity, he has the attitude, even if he doesn’t have much in the way of an ice motif yet.

Taimi: Not a lot to go on yet. Certainly, her illness could make her more compassionate to the suffering and give her an interest in studying healing magic, but who knows? But, and it may be a stretch, remember that the legs of Dwayna’s statues in GW1 were always broken and fragmented, and the statue was suspended by her magic (presumably, since the whole thing collapsed in the absence of divine favor). Asuran technomancy always seemed sort of air-themed, what with the crystals and sparks (that also being the theme of the Air dragon), and it’s that tech that keeps her mobile. Though if she upgraded Scruffy to fly or at least levitate, so much the better.

E as Kormir is basically just speculation, but E seems to know a lot about things that are pretty deep in the shadows. Secrets are just hidden Truth. Most likely human and male, or else capable of passing as such both vocally and when holding someone from behind with a knife at their throat. Would be the one gender flip, if male, but then again, Abaddon had the role before Kormir. And if we’re talking about secrets…

seems a bit of a reach. the gods were humans for a reason. the other races worship other ‘religions’ and deities if they have them.

juggernaut vs mjolnir+ascended hammer(stats of your choice)

the cost of an exotic skin does not even come CLOSE to a legendary.

that aside, this is the first time i’ve thought about using my makeover kit for a gender swap. the male phalanx armor is just that good. add cinders dye and it is nigh impossible to resist.

i received 11 scraps and 1 ticket from key drops so far. not complaining as i don’t think anet intended for everyone to get every skin, every LS.

people who say they quit:

a full medi build with sigils of generosity has little problems with keeping condi off.

if i wasn’t so happy with my current build, i’d give this a try. perhaps in the next few months

what is this for? pve, almost anything will work.

one of the biggest flaws i see is traiting for symbols when you only use 1(2 if you count being downed). it seems your build is lacking a focus or direction. mediocre crit chance, mediocre crit dmg, a TON of armor(overkill…really). no on demand condi removal unless you slot your armor full of soldier runes.

i’ve been playing gs//s/s exclusively for the past 9 months on my guardian through healway, ah and now finally finding my niche in meditations over the past 3 months.

if you are into doing damage with high mobility and on demand condi removal, i suggest this. it works fine in pve(what doesn’t….), dungeons and can be tweaked for w3.

pure of heart can be swapped for shout cd if you need stability. rely on your blinds for dmg mitigation and to ensure stomps if you aren’t using SYG. use your leaps and tele for chasing or to re position yourself for breathing room.

this sucks for zvz if you are in the thick of it, but for roaming or picking off stragglers, it works wonders.

may not be the best or for everyone and it took some adjusting from the too-safe playstyle of ah.

Someone farm gold then buy mats and then craft, while others farm mats and craft. Where is difference? There is non. You still farm and then spend all you farmed and price is same.

200 seems high, especially when you factor in that you can resell some of the items that you’ve made. 100 is more realistic.

The problem is that after you’ve spend that 100, you still have to go out and grind for all the parts of the vision crystal. That takes a long time and is not fun, especially the empyreal fragments.

i can’t take this statement seriously. emp frags come from jumping puzzles, daily chests(not your daily, but chests that reset daily), guild mission chests, w3, dungeons…

how is that grindy? anet finally did something right by rewarding players for doing what they LIKE.

as a bonus, i hate staves. i’m finally free to use a medi build that isn’t kitten by staff or a shout for move speed

a fellow guildie said it best: carrots are necessary in mmo’s.

however you interpret that is up to you. stats, skins, titles, ap…the list goes on.

a bit of perspective is needed as well.
i feel as if many of the negative comments are based around carrots being prohibitive of ‘fun.’ they aren’t obstacles unless you make them so.

just use the 1hr food…i don’t get the 30min if the cost is prohibitive

I would LOVE this +25% movement speed (as my other char is a ranger and in comparison my guardian feels sooo slow) however I am wondering if 6 of these runes would be viable with my build…

I currently have full Knight gear with 6x Soldier runes running 0/0/30/30/10 AH and Pure of Voice build. Weapons are both zerker and all my trinkets are zerker (3x ascended, 3x exotics).

Is my build still viable if I just switch out the Soldier runes for the Travellers? I mainly PVE – dungeons, fractals, Living World stuff – rarely do I WvW

just my 2c, but removing 2 conditions per shout is overkill unless you’re into pvp/w3
