i’m talking about stacking locust signet with it so that, like the thieves, we could have +50% speed bonus for a short duration! if it was stackable would anybody else consider switching out a trait for it? i feel like it could change a lot of things about my builds if i had that kind of mobility.
DS is not “short” duration if nobody hits you.
In 80 group pve – necros are second hated class after ranger.
But, rangers have 1 good and usefull build even for speedruns. Necros not.
They dont´t deal rangers/warrios/thiefs dps, they don´t have good support (might, banners, frostspirit/spotter).
Only a little bit not 100% active vul.
And they are slow like hell. It´s cruel to do Arah with a necro.
Until the necro is comming the other 4 finished the fight already.
And still, people hate ranger more.

I don’t know alot about guards but I think they get 1 sec base duration on most of their burns.
Ele’s have a trait to proc a 1 sec burn on crit (30%) no matter the attunement and nobody takes it. Eles have great access to burning true but they don’t have enough cover conditions with good base durations for the long burns to even run their course. Also no S/D ele auto attacks in fire unless they messed up somewhere thats the only auto attack that burns(2 sec base).
It’s like fighting a Dagger/Dagger condi thief that just death blossoms sure he can put 25 stacks of bleeds with 16 duration but you won’t kill someone with just bleeds if they have a clue on how to play.
A Necro for example, can put this 25 stacks of bleed back to the owner with a couple of skills.. Bye bye thief !

I’m sure i’m not first but for gods sake. What the point of 1s. of stability? Necro have tons of stunbreaking skills, but stability? NO WAY, IT WOULD BE SO OP. Warrior can use stability for 18 seconds with just 60s. cooldown. Necro (if not count stability from transfrom, because you can’t stomp fallen enemy) have 1s stability from well and 3s. when entering DS (But only with 30 point trait, which should replace deathly perception and cut off 50% crit chance, i’m really think this trait should be moved in lower tier).
Well of power must apply stability on every pulse.
what pve are you asking about? open world? any class running around naked can be successful in open world, dungeons and fractals? thief is basically required for most speed runs and high level fractals
edit: and if you are looking to run dungeons/fractals what kind of class are you looking for? the easiest possible? the highest damage? the most support?
Who the hell would ask about class for open world.. you don’t even have to use brain in openworld.
Rifle #1: Lowest damage of a 2 handed 3/4sec cast weapon. Boring appearance and doesn’t relate to any of the weapon’s other skills
Pistol#1: Lowest damage of all 1 handed 1/2sec cast and lowest bleed duration of all weapons in game.
Harpoon Gun #1: Not just lowest, but absolutely HORRIBLE damage for the longest underwater cast time for a primary weapon in the game. (warriors hit more damage on one of their 1/4 sec cast shots then we do on our 1sec cast shot! WT Kitten!) No option for a condition build to even attempt to use weapon. Projectile speed is EXTREMELY slow and doesn’t “home in” very well for being called homing Torpedo.
No wonder we feel FORCED to use kits, and at the sacrifice of utility slots ontop of it.
ANET, PLEASE fix our weapons!

I made thief mainly for wvw and start to think use it somewhere else, how thief in pve? Can i keep using full zerk? Or better stick with my necro/war for pve?

Probably, but you can’t choose to have them and they’re random.
Play necro, we’re don’t have problem with conditions, we’re actually love them. (And we have high hp pool)

Consume conditions is great skill, like best healing skill in game (low CD, high base heal, great additional heal by cleansing ALL you conditions), but in PvE, when party members always cure conditions from you faster than you can even cast CC with aoe cleanse skills.. It lose half of his potential.
But what else to use? Blood fiend is bad emergency heal for non-MM and well of Blood have long cooldown.

how do you get those stats? 50% crit 102% crit damage, 16k HP and 2.5k armor. and how much power??
just a tip though, don’t go over 2.5k armor if you do PvE if you don’t want to attract aggro from guardians/warriors.
I have necro for pve, he’s on 30 fractal level and i don’t want to farm it again, and i love my necro in pve.
I rolled a necro because people call out the other classes I play as, cheap, easy, forgiving, OP etc. Please tell me what class in this game isn’t OP? My options are running out
Ranger. Everyone hates them. Lot of fractals LFG discritptions contains “NO RANGER” (well, and “no necro” aswell.)
Condition dmg in PvE is fail, think what u want. But the truth is true. Play it if u like it. Play if u have fun. But don´t play it if u want to do “good” dps.

That’s strange. I’ve seen some pictures over in the Gas Mask thread, and they didn’t have white screws. I am pretty sure my gas mask doesn’t have white screws, either. I will have to look.
On my guildmate screws was red. (I’m sylvari, he’s human)
Mostly pve problem, when mob start channeling and you go stealth – mob keeps turning his face to you and hitting with channgeling skill, i don’t think that should work like this.
Necros that wear dark colors are cliche….. Way to be boring, switch it up!

Run one day more today, it was definetely better, lot of kills (but still making damloads of mistakes). Need just runes of traveler so i can replace 25%speed signet with something like hook or shadowstep to better chase/runaway.
Very inspiring moment was, when i saw head of massive zerg got one of us downed and i save him from stomping with shadow refuge and we runaway before rest of zerg come.

ideas for you to get better
1. start p/d – you’ll have better armor 3k. and you’ll learn to hit cnd right. give you range perspective of the fight and more time to react and learn your enemy moves
2. after go d/d – i started with pvt armor and zerk trinkets and after a while change to pvc armor for more crit dmg
I’m really don’t have money for 2 more armor sets
White for me, but yes, terrible bug. Looks awful with my gold+abyss necromancer with dark red glass.

Terror damage does go through Defiant. However, a number of bosses also have permanent, un-strippable Stability that may or may not show up on their buff bar, which negates Terror entirely.
But for others.. it’s 1200 per tick with 3 ticks, not bad, really.
Dying the frame to white fixes the problem!

It’s possible to convert pve skin to pvp, but not back. I’ve got Gas Mask and now i want it with slickpack in pve world because it was unfittable to me without something like new mask.. but it’s impossible. Add something to gem store if you want more gems, but make it possible.
I love Gas Mask and how it fits my Necro, but this undyeable white screws destroying everything
Quick question – did Champion/Boss mob take damage from terror if he got fear condition on him but didn’t runaway? It’s quite unique condition, only necro have access to it.

To answer your question: thief is capable of winning almost all 1v1s so if you are having trouble it’s your skill or your build. I’m certainly not saying we’re on equal ground as all professions but we can still win by outplaying them. If you’re really in full zerker gear that’s too glassy for your skill level. Mix in some soldiers (chest,helm,legs if I remember right) to gain some sustain. Thief plays differently than all the other professions, you have to learn a new style of play to be effective.
Are you 10/30/30/0/0 or 0/30/30/10/0? I still think one of those is best for d/d in wvw.
0/30/30/10/0, and i don’t see how 1k more hp can save me. Only way to survive i see – is do not take damage at all
Don’t like power necro in pvp at all. Pure damage can be greatly reduced by weakness, protection and blocks will stop 100% of this damage.
And you need 3 damage stats to output maximum damage (pow,prec,crtdmg), when condition necro need only condition damage (and precision, but optional) and can use defensive.
