Um i say signet of the wild should give 50% bonus damage to pet and only the pet, note that this skill used to be pet related only and that you ned a grandmaster to make it work on both. Im fine with ranger gaining +10% long as pets gets more then what it currently grants. Keep in mind this signet is a ridiculus 60 second cooldown just to use so we realy dont need it nerfed to begin with. Maybe only for the ranger itself

Ok so fine im running a warrior.. ive ran sword (onehanded) and hammer (powermode)
But by all mean why does every single build in a suposed melee weapon specialist class has to include a ’’longbow’’ i mean what the hell are you bloody serious the moment a guy use a longbow in pvp my poor hammer/physical build gets utherly wrecked and im not talking about sword wich unless you use a offhand longbow end up just as useless. I mean fine i understand warriors neds a ranged weapon but how come in hell longbow pack such a punch that the stupid rifle looks useless behind o_O.
Its not even main melee anymore as all warrior are actualy maining a longbow for pvp. I mean seriously anet Nerf longbow ridiculus effectiveness and buff all melee weaponry back to the boot.
When it comes having longbow in your build is near mendatory its like what in hell.

While its no secret that they rushed the class couldnt they just merge a few of those trait togueter like idk… the pet cond damage/cond duration trait? That already would be progress in making pet specialised especialy if they put that trait in lets say the condition damage line.
The same way they could merge pet crit damage and critical heal trait togueter in the skirmishing line and if they feel even more generous they could make it so to merge the crit grant might to pet with it and or the pet movement speed (this would reduce the number of trait wasted in that line for 4 trait wich cant all be taken to 1 or 2!)
If wed fellow some logical senses and didnt had to waste our entire traitline for nothings

5 skirmish (increase to crit damage crit on might movement speed and heal on crit to pet this trait could also affect master if anything)
2 survival (pet condition damage and condition duration)
0 Nature magic (that trait shouldve been in BM in the first place please replace that with a spirit junk)
6 Beast mastery (The trait to survival has effectively been transfered as a beastmastery grandmaster trait and as such would require 6 point to aquire however we now have a serious reason to go 6 point into the line, if they do any form of merging we could actualy save on the wasted dps traits)
Every hit the boss or mobs waste on a fodder unit is a hit you aint taking. Considering the fact dungeons with a lot of mobs should normaly work like dredge fractal (a place wich is hated quite a lot by most high end players) and not be a rush for the next corner with every single idiotic things stacking over your head free for getting slain in an aoe spam, one should think that encounter are designed to last a lot longuer and that simply dodging all the blow or minimising the time during wich mobs can do them isnt suposed to be an option. With the current way Anet works constantly at ruining close range stacking im prety much sure simply overdamaging everything wont remain viable forever witheout additionnal form of control.
I dont want to sound lame but dredge fractal is prety much the closest we currently have to an actual working as intended instance.
Support would slow down in the case of a party wich overlive everything throught sheer damage, but what would happen if from lets say starting today you no longuer could stack togueter and started getting seriously hit in encounters. Minion master in GW 1 had the lovely purpose of making easy prety much any encounter trought number of availlable targets, Id like to point out that right now thx to the overwelming dps a team can cause you only need to last about 5 or 8 seconds in a corner to kill everything. When a fight takes way longuer zerker paths starts to seriously show some serious deficiency.

1. Enginer turrets: Its no secret that turrets not only deals bad damage but are brittle easy to destroy and have no purpose in general save for wasting the team time. While stuff like net turrets in general have the advantage of causing periodic immobilize turrets like rifle and missile are just plenty useless.
Missile could simply put have the ability to cause AOE effect knockdowns instead of single target when overcharged and for a longuer duration (yea that totaly silly but granting the things lauch about only every 5 seconds the rockets can either be dodged or just can be ignored via stability). I highly approve the insertion of a trait granting statut stacks every few seconds but those status especialy the might one needs to stack a longuer duration and or grant a smaller interval.
The last thing is that turret should be WAY harder to destroy. Mobs can just smash them in a single hit and ruin everything, if a turret build is to ever serve some kind purpose turrets needs to have a serious amount of hp and take some time to die unless focused. For this purpose increasing the feat of the armored plating to turret would be good
2. Minion master pets: You going to say something like.. what seriously you want to make MM even more anoying? Well ill put it that way MM pets dies way to easily and while for any necro the loss of a summon is not such a burden yet the moment a boss fight begins you likely are going to loose your pet very often. Consider that each hit the boss waste on pet is meaningfull it would be wonderfull if it worked that way but the issue is that the moment pets are targeted by a red AOE they all die at the same time due to taking the full damage from them. Weither a MM pets die within seconds or not is somewhat irrelevent in spvp because almost no player targets them behing way to focused on taking down the MM itself and unless you actualy aoe like a godlike monsters its very likely youl still be fighting the MM pet even when hes downed and about to die something that right now thanks to the lovely protection of the horde trait that cause all pet to die on necro down is no longuer an issue.
3. Ranger pet: you all gunna say the ranger pet is useless for anything else then dealing DOT and in theory you would be 100% right, however shouts like guard protect me and search and rescue could actualy have been of some use in a fight especialy SAR. The reason such ability are not is first that the pet dies way to easily to aoe and second that it takes it entire minutes to simply jump to a target and start healing.
4. Mesmer phantasm: As with necromancer and enginer phantasm mesmer have the issue of having a hard time maintaining their illusion long enought to be worthwhile, im looking at the phantasmal defender and disanchanter for instance who simply put serve no purpose save for getting themselves one shoted quickly. Defender could have its AOE damage taken largely decreased as well as for any real phantasm since like all illusion they are squishy as hell and die to the first aoe ability spammer that gets out in the field. Bosses becomes a test of how fast you can rebuild a team up and in the end you just become another distraction spammer (hance the reason why most mesmer spam illusions and phantasm only for the purpose of breaking them up). I wont deny the advantage of a shatter build but running an army mode mesmer shouldnt be worst of a build especialy since it also is highly damage oriented.
5. Support ele: Elementalist buff while usefull brings no real advantage to the team in a boss fight, not to mention just any ele can do the same job while running a full zerker build. Supportive ability should have their effect downscaled dramaticaly and be increased just as strongly by healing power (as it is healing power and buff duration scaling should be 2 or 3 time as strong while all supportive ability should have their benefits divided by half!) so to magnify the actual effect of running a little of it.
6. Healing power: as it is currently it hold so little meaning its basicaly the avoided stats, why would people need it anyway? A guy with absolutely no heal power can tank like a truck trought sheer evade blocks and self buffing (guardian, warrior, rangers, enginers prety much all class actualy overheal damage easily witheout any form of healing power if anything the current healing on heal skill or ability should be halved and granted a way bigger scaling)

Ill put it bluntly this game currently runs around two things. Damage, and the ability to deal it as quickly as possible.
While i agree pure damage team composition gets things done faster and that shouldnt change, the whole team shouldnt be handicaped either the moment a guy who runs a more defensive oriented build jumps in.
Im gunna get a LOT of hatred for this post and I expect it especialy coming from the high end player who thinks every single player who runs even the slightlest on a defensive mechanics is bad and team ruining but the whole point of this post is to make such mechanics actualy usefull to a team.
heal as one been a BM trait for time immemorial it should either be pet cooldown related or shout related. Also Heal as one could have the special property of reviving pet instantly wich is something none of the other heals can do (HAO did that in GW1 and was the only skill save for the original pet heal that could actualy both heal and revive the pet not to mention it also healed the master wich is something no bm ability could do save for that new heal that didnt revive pet in EOTN id also like to mention HAO was the one only healing spell beside of healing spring wich was a trap and was very hard to place down and troll unguant wich was in survival tree that a ranger could do to heal himself not to mention it was the largest instantanous self heal of the ranger and the only way a ranger could insta heal most of his hp).
The last thing I expect would be for heal as one to become survival related it has to long of an history behing related to beastmastery and has never been actualy used in any build wich didnt rely entirely on pet. Actualy I easily see this healing spell giving some buff like for instance.
1. Heal twice as more if pet is alive (with a base healing reduced by 20% or 30%)
2. If pet is dead revives it immediately
3. The skill had the lovely property to cause pet to leech health for every strike over 10 second and transfer it to you back in GW 1 this both added to its damage and health the ranger by a lot maybe they could give that back to us.

As far as we know theyve added but a single new pet to the game wich is a reef drake with confusion breath. Do the anet team actualy plan adding new bird/cat/bear type to the list or even actualy work out new pet type like raptor (quick and damaging glass cannon) pheonix (new kind of pet between drake magical breath and bird speedy attack) cattle (cow dolyak wich can do charge and stampede etc)
I mean cmon its been two years and yet no new pet save for that drake prety much no one uses.
truth is they actualy dont care about it. Making anything related to the pet stow option is prety much the last of their priority. Theil get new pets out and fix the AI years before they do anything related to pet stow and thats witheout mentionning the pet itself is one of their already lesser priority. In theory dont expect any keybind to that until at least 5 year have passed.
Indeed one of the main advantage of pet in guild wars 1 was their very long leash range. you could simply throw them right into the middle of a mob pack have it kill a few then call it back with the ranged pet revive doing hit and run attack witheout any kind of risk. (not to mention pet could chase a very unlucky assasin for kilometers making them the number one nightmares of squishies
Well if you can have a battle pig i expect my eagle to turn into a pheonix this is a long awaited prestige pet for all true ranger.
Role filled by pet can indeed be based on how you raise it cept as a swift action out of battle you can make it dire, playfull or old.
Regardless Pets hardly have any depth to it right now and could use more customisation for the animal love.

It’s not really a bug. A while after release, Arenanet updated the cutscenes to no longer include headpieces so that you could see your perty face while talking.
Ignoring the fact that people who RP or dress their characters typically like their look with the headpiece, Arenanet was content with the update and never gave it another thought.
I don’t wear a headpiece 99% of the time and I both RP and dress like a maniac (so many trans stone…) just saying because you like ironheads doesn’t mean every single stylist do.
Helmets should just be removable in all game… I cant stand having to wear something on my head when playing dark souls so I play with a crown a hood or nothing at all.

For some funny reason when a guy talk about bow or sword everyone jump in but the moment its about pet its like a common agreement from the ranger population that the topic must die its like if from a common accord all player on this forum wanted the pet gone or dead :/ well this is sad it just show how much pet needs to be improved.
As insulting as some might call it turret build actualy works very well for non serious pve purpose. As long as your leveling or doing regular dungeons you can run a turret build but I highly subjest going for FT bomb or nade the moment you jump into fractals
Well for pug id just say Jugg is most usefull (you never know if youl have might or not) For non pug then you may want to run bombs altrought regardless of pugs or not running FT with HGH 25 perma might helps making yourself usefull to the team
HGH is pretty terrible for pve in my opinion, yeah you can maintain might… but all the time spent chugging elixirs is time you are not doing damage. HGH also forces you to use elixirs on cooldown to maintain that might which puts you in a situation of possibly not having the elixirs available for when you need their effects, essentially rendering those skill slots and toolbelt skills ineffective.
Because the thousand buff elixir and the condition cleanse elixir actualy are a problem to put on cooldown? I blow them up all the time! Id also mention that the toolbelt elixir do count toward the might stacking, Including nonetheless the toolbelt healing elixir and the multibuff elixir. Also might stacking with any profession but elementalist is time wasting regardless (Im looking at you bomb enginer you spend so much time trying to stack might in that burning circle of yours that you aint auto attacking with bombs!) Its all about what elixir you use and how well timed they are. In the end the many buff granted are actualy worth the while to the team regardless

If as many suspect the nightmare court is related to mordremoth then it is very likely we will meet that BLEEP again in some other instanced dungeon. Like team rocket she only flew to another sky so to appear again likely in an instance featuring mordrems.
From a villain design Plunt is hardly more then a regular politician. I mean I can easily see a president justifying a war under false pretence. The same way phlunt or whataver is his blasted name confisc Teimi invention under the pretense that she is just a kid but in truth intend to study it so that he can himself get an improved model out and reap all the glory. Its the principe of Lawful evil you do things by the book but you use law to back your bad deeds which in turns gives us two option either is to become lawless criminals like Robin hood or to do nothing and try to eventually pin him down for one of his mistakes because in theory he legitimately has the right to do so and we have both of our hands tied until we can actually catch him doing something out of the book because he’s eventually going to make an error. The same reason Caudecus can abuse law and regulation to justify the ministry guard all while pretending he never had a hand in anything Phlunt can also abuse law to justify stealing stuff.

I do agree a lot of trait related to pet wich aren’t in the BM tree could’ve been merged there however there is a few issue to this
1. Theres to many trait related to pet in the ranger tree already heres the list
pet movement speed
pet condition damage
pet condition duration
pet critical strike damage
pet might on crit
pet heals on crit
pet condition transfer per second
pet CC transfer
pet shared buff
Just there I can see some trait merged togueter
Pet cond damage + cond duration
Pet increased healing + heal on crit
Pet CC transfer and condition removal
Pet might on crit and pet critical damage
Pet shared buff should’ve been the last trait in the BM line at 25 while that stupid healing to power should’ve been converted to vita to power and transferred to the nature magic tree
To many of those traits are spread around in the trees. Also the bloodlust trait for pet is most useless if it disappear each time pet goes down. This buff should apply to ranger and be removed only on rangers down.
Simple truth… in guild wars 1 my jingle bear 16-14 ranger build with a spear/shield soloed Duncan the black from slaver exiles out of pure damage and raw tanking. Ill just mention that unlike here the guild wars 1 pet was a 600 hp killing machine with the constant option of a 30 point damage reduction, hasted attack and movement antiblock, 6 self regen heal on hit, 7 degen and over 120+ damage hit spamming (aka dervlike damage). Guild Wars 1 pet was in all mather actualy superior to a player unit as it also could be resurrected to full health every 8 second via heal as one and NEVER had a death penalty wich also made it the ultimate tanking weapon for taking initial nukes, whats more ranger didn’t even ned to participate himself he could just sit in a corner and run around while pet wrecked everything.
Pets here neither do the insane damage they did in GW 1 (altrought at time they are more then able to score crazy critical hits) Or possess their sturdiness (as I said all pet in GW1 had ridiculously high hp could be resurrected at will via heal as one every 8 second and tanked like trucks effectively behing able to even solo other player in battle!) Such a composition sacrificed the ranger ability to deal damage entirely as the build relyed totally on shouts and pet buff wich in the best scenario affected both the character and the pet.
The issue here is ranger pet not only have ridiculus respawn cooldown but also just stands and takes all the hit. If a spell like heal as one wich is currently in our list did resurrect the pet on each use with full health and maybe granted the life steal on hit to pet per attack for pet and master (HAO healed the ranger for about 30 hp per pet hit for a while) then likely BM would be easier to play

My ranger has tasted a full year of pet hate I think any beast master worth its salt who has truly tried to run 100% on a pet build would be angry by now with all those ‘’NO pet please remove it make it optional’’ guys who by the way might just end up being the first people to kick you out of a team if you run one especialy if you build revolve 100% around it with little personal damage and heavy pet dps. If BM is to be optional they better make it so able to compete on damage with a ranger who runs without if not actually do better to compensate the management wich itself would now be optional and promote the lazy choice of just not running one.
It would be highly ridiculus for a guy fighting alone to deal more damage then a duo. While I don’t disagree it could open the way for some sort of tanking spec using condition damage and running on aspect more similar to a animist shaman barbarian then a pet user I really don’t think a pure sniper should deal more damage then a pair of character fighting together to bring the target down (one arrow < a bite and an axe toss I mean honestly what do you think logically would cause a bigger wound?)

4. Still no possibility for ranger to gain a serious condition removal save for when specing 30 in survival or running the anti cond signet and the healing spring. This makes any build which doesn’t have 30 in survival utterly easy to destroy via a condition build and highly limit ranger viability in pvp to survivalist spec who runs on condition effect (I heard you don’t like tank well that’s pretty much the role your forcing the rangers into). Bear can cure one condition when using its special but that takes time and running a bear in pvp is poor choice damage wise (kill people with a bear? not likely).
5. Running a pet is a marriage of sort between you and a complex yet not always answering AI. Sometime you have to do a huge load of work to direct the fur ball at what you want it to kill (aka Mesmer fights, thief fights, necromancer fight with a lot of pets). I’m not talking either about when the pet accidentally agro things or just refuse to react immediately but literally at how the pet keep track of its target. While I approve the fact Mesmer can hide behind illusion pet should have the option to attack exactly what YOU are attacking which is to say that if a Mesmer hide behind an illusion and you spot it the stupid cat should react accordingly and attack your new selected target rather then force you into several precious loss of second recalling him back to attack something else then a clone. Again the thing also stop attacking once a thief stealth which means that since it disengaged combat not only the thief got a free shot but you also need to direct your pet to attack it again because the thief may either break out of pet agro by moving away or literally backstab you and hide again with pet doing absolutely nothing. Once engaged the pet should seek it chosen target the moment it break out of stealth rather then wait for a likely stunned master to do the first blow. While I am way over the pet standing still and not answering anything when you point it out at a way distant target there is always more space to improve my relationship with it.
I applaud what Anet has done for the petmaster rangers this year but the spec is far from finished and could still use many changes to be actualy truly viable as a pvp and pve choice even to the elite guys above Please don’t forget our lovely cats and dog this year Anet we love your work and thanks for the axe change.
Current time September 15
When axe and longbow got buffed to boot with a damage increase and a triple might stack on hit I jumped on my ranger right away so to see if now the build I’ve been waiting for so long became viable. Since Beast masters now all benefit from the signet affecting both you and pet I directly saw the damage upgrade however to make running a pet actually viable in pve there is several issue that first needs to be addressed.
1. Pet cannot cleave and as such any great sword freak or aoe spamming ele easily outshine pretty much any if all ranger which would even bother running the pet itself. Maybe an ability like Sic em could grant the pet the ability to deal aoe damage in a small cone for the duration of the effect on its attack. You did it for the thief dagger and the necromancer dagger so why not allow ranger pet to cleave?
2. Pet have no stat scaling no mather how the ranger is built the pet will never deal more damage unless you stack might on it as well as the bloodlust. While I understand Anet decision to decline the ranger the ability to scale its pet stat on himself for the purpose of deciding the pet damage health and armor so to make using pet less complex of a choice it also largely limit the possible damage your lovely furrball can do. The worse is that even when you totally invest into it the pet still is utherly easy to destroy pve wise. Because of its unability to dodge aoe red circle wich normaly may 1 shot players it just end up dead within seconds, Pet as such should benefit from a massive damage reduction to aoe effect or gain the ability to get the dodge invincibility frame when the masters do.
3. Axe while now useful for stacking might lacks the ability to deal serious damage, Short bow stack conditions at extreme speed while longbow now has quick strikes and heavy damaging combos. Axe on the other hand has the most useless second skill in the whole class list history, that multi axe toss that cause bleed not only is subpar to short bow auto attack for bleed stacking but also deals terrible physical damage making it totally unreliable for both the dps or defensive uses. While axe 3 and axe 4 are very useful and axe 5 has a role for missile deflection axe 2 not only fits no role but is time consuming to use (auto attack deals more damage and proc 3 might). Axe 2 could either proc 1 might per axe hit or have its bleed damage removed and replaced by a serious damage bonus equal to what the engineer blunderbuss skill gives (the more axe that lands the heavier the damage gets which is to say that this skill would be a range based attack dealing way better damage at close range) Because yes you’ll notice that axe not only has no evade move (short bow both got a stun and backward dodge, sword retreating backward dodge) but also lack a melee ranged attack to defend itself (longbow push) Which means anyone can just close the gap and melee the ranger head on. Worse yet stuff like path of scar only pull the target to melee range with us which really doesn’t help to keep a gap between us and the target which if melee specialised will clearly deal twice our damage (don’t get me started about whirling defence the damage is jokish and is not worth using unless fighting against another ranged target which you know already wont get a sword out at the first notice).
Hello I run a beast master ranger since beta and I’ve always defended pet based builds in this game and pretty much in any game that has pets. I want to confess here my feeling for the current beast mastery system as well as my experience as running a pet centered build since release.
First I want you to know I ran many defrent pet from the black moa (my first pet in game) to the Snow leopard which is my current pvp killer. I appreciate the various choice offered in game each with its strength and weakness. Pet handling has been an adventure I have embraced since the creation of my ranger and I never turned my back on it.
Beta
I started pvping with a axe and a horn as well as a jungle stalker on a charr female. Matches in the beta ran mostly around longbow users and or sword shield warriors with a few elementalist and necro (very few Mesmer around). While I admit at this time pretty much everyone was noobish the spec felt infinitely better to run around as the ranger self healed large amount from the signet periodic healing and stuff like heal as one were most efficient. Pet also dealth way larger damage (they have had their damage nerfed on several ability later on) and I barely even acknowledged that the pet could sometime mess up because it actualy was efficient (it could easily kill players but sometime got stuck in a wall or didn’t fight at all etc).
1rst year
Running beast mastery didn’t felt much defrent from the beta although they did nerf signet of the wild I ran a somewhat simple 0 25 0 15 30 build centralised around building pet might on multi hit and criting. Considering the fact stuff the like of fractals didn’t exist yet people had no needs for a meta and the zerker joke wasn’t running rampant yet. Pet dealth some lovely 10k and I was happy for my build as I ran around might stacking it. Later this year warrior gets a buff so to be able to keep up to pvp and at first it just look like they are finaly able to keep up.
2nd year fractal of the mist emergeance
When fractal of the mist appeared the game started to aim itself more toward direct efficiency less then originality warrior behing the most used class for this comp. While the Spvp wasn’t much for the better itself behing very strait on the builds the fractals brought that junk strait into pve as well and from that moment if you had a pet or ran anything not the way some tought guy wanted for the purpose of behing a 100% dps class for maximum effectiveness (no originality there you don’t even play your own build anymore) you were automatically branded as useless. While perfectly able to run the meta guardian and warrior I simply refused to play my ranger and my minion master necromancer otherwise then the way I intended them wich is to say as pet users. As such I was relayed to pug team only with a few elite team at time wich I generaly declined the offer from preferring to run my main the way I wanted then to run my alt for some easy quick earned reward. When ranger and necromancer officialy got branded as useless class pve wise I stopped playing guild wars 2 for a while.
2nd year scarlet junk
I skipped about 80% of the year because of the scarlet arc although I did come a few time online so to play my ’’infamous’’ ranger or necromancer in low level fractals. I did reach level 40s fractals on my warrior but got sick of it and stopped playing the moment I reached the level. The same year ferocious bite get its damage nerfed by a serious amount while pet necromancer keep behing lovely playable. A little later pet necro get nerfed as well for a joke amount of stat but keep behing playable. For some reason many instance suddently either get themselves nerfed or upgraded to ridiculus level (I should mention here that Simin used to be the worst boss in arah for a reason and that since the nerf she became a huge joke while that pirate zombie boss ended up getting boosted to boot when she used to practicaly just be a hide and seek in the corner. I didn’t play for most of the arc save to check on the recent upgrade to the fractals of the mist wich I didn’t enjoy that much in the end.
Again option brings elitism and elitism brings the death of option
If by any means running petless ended up behing better then running with pet before long all if any ranger running his pet out would get the party kick! I didnt pick up ranger so i could could shoot prety daisy arrows but so i could run a killing machine called the pet.
While giving option to the player not to run the pet could be possible running the pet should also remain a viable if not more viable option (pet cost time control and sacrifice to play correctly those who are eager to makes those sacrifice and live the wedding with the AI should be rewarded as such properly! Difficulty should always be rewarded somehow)
You petless freaks all thinks ranger is better off witheout pet but did you realise the work and dedication it takes a pure pet user to work his/her build trought with effectiveness? Just because a minion master runs on AI doesnt mean the AI doesnt bug or act stupid at time, the micromanagement is ridiculus and its a full time job to keep track of both you and all of your pets if you got any else either you or the pet end up dead, im litteraly managing two character at the same time so why by all means should a build wich runs on a single character be more effective then mine.
does the Anet team plans on adding new pet to the game. Ive been pondering if they plan to give us back the phoenix from Factions or eye of the north back again in the game.
I mean come on now that ranger petbuilds are usefull why not add a new pletora of lovely pet to the game
:3 tigers? Phoenix? Desert lizards? Maybe an Ostrich or even a tamable raptor
?
We also could use some longlegged birds to.
A dolyak or cow? i mean why no cow?Why not make the bad ones into good ones first instead of creating more pets?
Bad and good is in the eye of the believers each pet got its own fonction after all

Cant edit my post for some strange reason… Regardless ive ran stealthless thieve build before using a sword/pistol – sword/dagger build and know what it worked quite well since i run on acrobatics!
Stealth isnt everything there is to thief ya know. ive ran many build who didnt even had it and they worked quite well.
Lol seriously you guys who can near permanantly spam stealth asking for the only stealth breaker to be removed from the game? First it wont be removed two the window between opening and applying stealth again should be doubled
just to limit the ridiculus abusive use of the backstab ability.

Well for pug id just say Jugg is most usefull (you never know if youl have might or not) For non pug then you may want to run bombs altrought regardless of pugs or not running FT with HGH 25 perma might helps making yourself usefull to the team
Warrior is the most used however i could recommand ranger as a class for pve due to its easyer control (having a pet realy help staying alive)

reality is about ALL class should use their mechanics.
A thief who doesnt use steal is somewhat a bad player because steal is a free teleport move usefull for closing gap and using various OP move.
A mesmer who doesnt shatter just lost about 50% of its effectiveness as it wont gain the free 4 second invuln or else
A ele who doesnt switch atune has very slow cooldown between moves if not subpar dps
A guardian who forego its Class mechanic may kind of lack a free access to a quick heal block and might stack especialy if using the renewed focus elite to -.-’
A enginer loose a lot when simply not using the toolbelt since TB has a lot of instant attack wich also have a variety of usefull effect
A warrior witheout burst is no warrior to begin with and a build like HB wich runs on perma staying on 100% adrena is outright stupid
A Necro witheout death shroud? So squishy!
Why of all thing now should ranger NOT run a mechanic go and tell me! if anything pet is one of the stronguest mechanic in the game due to its damage rate combined with the various ability pet provide (knockdown fear regen protection might cripple immobilized poison and even a lot of bleed stacks!). Sure the whole class shouldnt be 100% designed around the mechanics either but there of course needs to be a tree of it dedicated to the mechanic (im still clueless as to why the beastmaster tree doesnt have all the benefit reserved to pet or as to why some of the best pet trait such as crit damage and might on crit are in the skirmish line worse yet some trait are totaly useless and shoulve been granted to pet by default such as the increased condition damage crit damage and Healing!)
Trait such as the beastmaster bond wich grant the player might when pet falls below X hp or grant pet enlarge when player is Under 50% hp should be merged togueter with a trait such as for exemple the bloodlust pet stacking trait. And im not talking about stupid stuff like that trait that grants pet health on crit (shouldve been merged with the pet crit increase trait) and the pet condition draw (shouldve been merged with the pet Healing final trait from BM or something else seriously what is a pet related trait doing in survival in the first place especialy as grandmaster!)
So many of these pet trait shouldve been merged back togueter in the beastmastery line with other trait but where are they? in totaly random lines wich either have no link to it or just force the player into specific niches.
If a player wants to run weaker class mechanics at the benefit of more powerfull non mechanic ability they have the right to but the mechanic itself should be a most viable build on its own.

Actualy this kind of thing helps in tactical play and reduce the number of brainless fight in pvp area. Ive started to see rangers perching on rooftops in pvp and longbow sniping people from where it is very hard to hit them back. I must applaud on the tactical ingeniosity altrought the fact a guy can just hammer me for that much damage from a location strait in face of a control point in sky hammer where i cant in theory reach him witheout doing a long jump puzzle actualy anoys me (note that once im dead he can at any time just jump down of his perch and cap back the point again)
as a response to this… well i guess fractals lvl 40+ are OPer then us the proof is within one year it has scored more kills and KO then any other feature in the game i say its skills needs to be nerfed 8D
ill just point out that an axe using BM may actualy outdps sword when it comes to pet damage by far unless the team got a war spamming 25 might for everyone or something of the like
ill just say that in Spvp my cat could split a guy hit point in half with his bite when properly buffed with enought targets to stack my might
actualy i ran it before patch and it could pack up quite a fairly good amount of damage the problem was actualy related to might instability (old axe bm build ran on a similar principe to what we have now using the critical might sigil so you ned a lot of hit to cap the 25. now if you rune critical might rune + critical might trait and boonshare axe becomes the one weapon to perma stack might on pet in about any circonstance
Axe: +1 to 3 might per attack to yourself
crit sigil: +1 might per attack for yourself max 2 (because of the 1 second cooldown)
Crit trait: +1 might per attack for pet, max 3
Result: maximum 7 might per strike wich generaly last long enought to perma 25
Just so to make sure you gain as much might as necesary i recommand using a rune of strenght or hoelback
If you use the horn buff you increase your crit rate by 20% wich likely is already quite high from running a zerker based build so youl likely gain might on most hit
Now for the pet bloodlust stacking it can be usefull at time or suckish at another if your pet is the kind to constantly die. A cat can do an amazing job but if youd rather run something hard to kill i recommand you switch to wolf drake or in the WORSE case scenario a bear, Bear is somewhat tanky but lack serious damage as such it is a poor choice for damage.
Ill mention that if you run the might on signet marksmanship option you can actualy pack in a 10 free vulnerability as well as 3 might per signet use for quite a duration (likely signet of the hunter and signet of the wild for pve) By all mean make sure you got sic em in your skill bar.
