BM: I want to present you my lovely jingle bear mia
If pet had voices: Mommy, I did it! :3
Running longbow/axehorn with that pet buff share and signet might stacking… you can figure how much im enjoying my cat high bite and heavy damage AA. Ive been waiting this for sooooo long i think a lot of people are about to die
Running 20 in marks 20 in skirmish 15 nature magic 15 or so about in BM
Im a beastmaster pet based build by default so how do i kill people? Well simply put longbow allow for damage spike knockdown cripple AOE damage might on crit spam and skirmish line is full of trait related to signets such as 3 might for 17 second and reduced cooldown. Spending 90% of my time buffed like crazy with might stacks or just going rampage with size enlargement its not as much the read the wind trait as my ability to have decent spiking upkeep something i couldnt get before when SOTB was still a trait and that longbow did peanut style damage now not only can i stack might like crazy (tons of hit at high rate im enjoying constant might proc as well as my pet) but i also hit serious damage. I think that change is most welcome to all ranger who didnt want to run that silly sword build to begin with (currently running axe-horn/Longbow in a go 25 might stack fashion style)
Tbh all sword ranger may be anoyed by longbow behing buffed but all those people who DIDNT want to run sword in the firstplace are currently in heavenmode (the day ill run one handed sword on a ranger ill just switch to thief lol)
Well RF is actualy a tactical combo skill id say… Use the longbow knockdown or the pet knockdown/immobilize then use RF to burn the damage. It was that way in the beta it just happen people dont remember that before all those awfull nerf the ranger endured before release longbow could have been considered a respectable weapon in pvp. What i like is not the longbow as much as my ability to benefit from signet of the wild and signet of the hunter witheout that ridiculus marksmanship grandmaster trait. GO GO ZERKER MODE we fight as one my pets!
Well the game didnt had an actual effective ranged dps meta build prior to this patch… i expect all sword ranger to switch to longbow soon or at least a good part of them. Ranger can finaly play the role it was suposed to. Aka the longrange heavy damage dealer.
Simple reminder to thief backstab lovers… backstab doesnt have a serious cooldown and is easily spammable, rapid fire isnt. Put bluntly RF is the long deserved tool ranger ned to actualy play a power build effectively the same way warrior runs 2h swords, there is no reason why it should be nerfed. If RF is to have increased channel time it would need that damage increased exponentialy. Same goes for weakened damage the channeling time should decrease as well.
Now thats laughable the thief who spam One shots with backstab cries about ranger tracking from rapid fire and the long nerf overdue warrior cry because now ranger can actualy keep up with their highly overpowered hambow self regen build in a ranged fight. You guys are plenty ridiculus ranger by default was supose to be designed as the distance fighter, as such that ranger possess low evade and one of the best ranged weapon style in the game is legitimate. Warrior longbow better then ranger longbow? Please stop dreaming it wasnt supose to work that way since day one! To make longbow rapid fire and everything else viable as a damage weapon was the best thing they ever did in the whole year. We might even see ranger in pve dungeon meta running something else then that stupid shortsword build. Honestly im going for a signet/pet might fusion spammer build with that and its rocking the hell out.
Ranger still is as squishly and defenceless as ever save now instead of behing a free loot bag its actualy a deadly long range glass cannon wich is what it should have been since the start.
It seems they finaly started to add beastmastery themed ability. That change to the signet is already a + i hope they keep up that way with pet based ability
I hope they keep working toward making beastmastery a full fledged spec amonst ranger. In the meanwhile a few additionnal pet strike based ability would be welcome
Halberds (polearms?)? ill tell you what that would represent
Ranger: Agressive Midrange style based on scoring multi physical hit (aka Tiger fury mode)
Necro: Reaping based ability similar to what dervish did (the halberd is a form of polearm wich also include the scythe)
Elementalist: Magic themed on longrange single target high damage striker such as lightning orb, Ice spear etc.
Guardian: Paragon spear style with a polearm
Mesmer: (clueless about that)
Thief: (doesnt fit the class)
Enginer: (just do not fit the class)
Most boss such as spider are easily doable by stacking in a corner where the boss main mechanic such as web breath weapon will not work. since the boss only hit one player at a time it makes prety much fight where the player should actualy avoid standing still a joke fest. An exelent way to kill stacking would to provide the bosses the ability to do cleaving attack with their auto attack ability. This effectively makes all the 5 player take serious damage at the same time and force them to spread out so not to have the party obliterated into 5 or 6 hit.
Im not doing the promotion of stuff like tanking or healing maniac here but actualy of actual good dungeon fighting because people have been hiding in the corners for to long.
before anyone cry about this idea behing lame ill remind you that most of the boss you people are stacking on werent designed with the idea of standing still in a corner to avoid all the boss mechanics and taking hits while overhealing everything you guys are suposed to dodge and move around.
Play ESO… youl have fun until you realise all the bugs and glitch in the game are not actualy april fools but reals.
This is early release yet i suspect Zenimax is using their ‘’pre purchase’’ players as a tool to do beta bug fix before real release (laugh)
Gods preserve us if they do that…
You are not prepared!
Look at him..
..
Look closer…
…
MY EYES IT BURNS!!!!!!!!…..
But seriously you aint purple enought to be him anyway
A weapon that actualy proc pet attack the same thing as Guild Wars 1 Beast mastery moveset? Sure why not, i dont see them making utility to proc stuff like brutal strike anyway but why not on a weapon? Staff has been the beast master emblem for generations until spear/shield took over.
I like the whip idea but what would the other class do with a whip (unless they make it a transformation skill for the ranger only?).
Got to love the doubled damage Under 50% and mass degen with heavy damage was all the point of it at that point the pet was like a constant 33% increased attack speed sword/shield warrior with high movement speed or improved damage that had uber survivability + the ability to ressurect constantly but had its deep wound replaced with poison instead.
Those guys where all like (Oh its just a ranger… what is she doing with a staff and a pet? OMG help its eating me!)… ill remember those assasins screams for years…
(edited by kyubi.3620)
its just i got a hard time imaginating how its even possible to wait 20 minute for a fractal run
i actualy prefered brutal strike (the damage equivalent to ranger of warrior final trust without the ridiculus adrenaline cost and a somewhat short cooldown) coupled with the Lucky 7 bleed/poison degen heal as one symbiotic link build wich both had the damage and the survivability in it :/ sad you ned to keep charm animal in pvp else id had brought myself even more damage XD
Enraged lunge was also mighty but lacked the self survivability of heal as one (7 second cd 180 heal + endless pet ressurection… woot?)
Yet people wants new weaponry variant so why not? And if the files already exist it would be twice as easy to add them to the game
but seriously… ERP is dominated by wich race anyway? I as a scientist am most interested into elaborated research in the subject…
there have a picture of me im the middle asura and those are my krew
(edited by kyubi.3620)
may i ask how you managed to xfer the headband to a defrent character? id like to have it too
if you wrote full zerker only or meta only dont expect a miracle at this level :/
The day they give us 16-14 back in Guild Wars 2 ill find acceptable the idea of a ’’stowable’’ pet.
16-14 cheerleader could indeed do a comeback in GW2 and with the possible addition of staff as a ranger weapon it would actualy make much sense. Cheerleader was actualy one of the best form of symbiotic build in the game… the pet hits the ranger heals… the ranger direct the pets the pet deals damage, the ranger heal itself the pet heals, the ranger shout at the pet the pet go for the kill. Having a big angry rainbow pheonix or a jingle bear never felt so fun since (i can still taste their fear… and tears)
Since Number 1# would exist in the form of aspect wich the dev actualy got interested in why would the reverse not exist as well?
(edited by kyubi.3620)
there is polearms in the datafile btway… scythe is a form of polearm… so not so april fool yet.
this aint a april fool btway… there realy is rumors of polearm around.
those are base mechanics that can make it actualy working… it wont make it viable however. The pet deals to few damage and those change will only make it actualy be Worth it as an accessory for non pet build. glass cannon Pet focused build will need more love then just that to be viable as a damage specialisation.
Everything in the game point to the fact pet are supose to be the ranger main heavy damage source (from might to pet on crit to give all buff you get to pet) in some way pet is supose to be MORE buffed then the ranger itself yet despite all of this it still deals ordinary damage at best. You guys want a glass cannon spec to ranger… well you wont get it based on the ranger damage itself thats for sure, anet dont want ranger as anything more then a progressive damage/control specialisation and thats been the case even in GW1 however pet has always been the heavy direct damage side of the ranger profession and it would make most sence if it actualy came back as such.

Dont you wish you could hit chains like warrior and guardian for 16k+? Im just proposing to put the pet to the same lvl as them at the cost of making the ranger inefective damage Wise. Im not talking about health point and armor just about damage as a general rule. Of course we would be fighting… but at this point once axe/longbow/shortbow deals the same damage as sword/greatsword… wich would you think youd choose to buff up your pet with might stacks? If we blurr the lines off damage to the point its more of a question of utility rather then dps done is longbow/axe so bad yet? I dont think so, and actively buffing the pet trought fight doesnt necesarily mean dealing damage. If longbow/axe actualy happened to deal the same damage as sword they both would be in a better line for beast mastery spec then sword would.
As a reminder many of those ‘’pet buff’’ traits are stuck in the wrong traitline in the first place and should be removed from the game or recalled back to beast mastery as many player subjested. What im proposing here is a true pet based build without the risk of having the ranger dealing overpowered combined damage by recalling all this damage back to the pet when traited as such.
This also bring in a new fighting circonstance to the game
Today: ignore the useless pet focus the ranger
Tomorow: burn down the dangerous pet then aim for the vulnerable ranger
(edited by kyubi.3620)
Pet ranger as they are todays are a pale shadow of what the class used to be… what im proposing here is something a lot of player might deem absurd… blasphemous even!
What im proposing is the reverse of the pet removal… the pet stat focus as the ranger itself withdraw from the scene and work as the actual directing hand.
The curent balance of damage power in ranger even on a BM is about of
40% – ranger
to
60% – pet
What im proposing is a return to the beastmaster of guild wars 1 via a trait aka
1% – ranger
to
99% – pet
Now how does this work… Ranger technicaly sacrifice its whole power, ferocity, precision and condition damage stats and transfer it to its pet aka a stat transfer of 100% of damage done. The interest of it is ranger still can cause various crowd control or effect that power up his pet via weapon ability and utility but becomes a passive tamer behind the beast whos purpose is to take command and direct it (the guild wars 1 staff beastmaster 16 BM 14 expertise) The cool stuff is pet actualy now gets to deal serious direct damage and act as melee hammer of the same damage lvl as a warrior where the ranger can keep a distance and buff from affar. However as a cost to the ranger finaly behing able to reunite all its damage coeficient in a single attacker the ranger itself is technicaly unable to deal damage (or at least act as a minor dot at best) and must fight trought its beast companion.
Put a trait in grandmaster or master beastmastery and call it ‘’beast tamer’’ it would definitively open up a new form of specialisation to ranger or at least make it into a full archtype of its own.

Did someone talk about big pickles? or bad Salad oh well either way i heard the tarnished coast went afflicted by a strange mind controlling disease called ERP wich infect even little asura.. is that true o_o
True fact
Guild Wars 1 pvp and pve
Pet maximum damage (done with all self buffing as well as a fully charged elite) – 210
Warrior maximum damage (executed with the axe attack elite) – 180
Explanation: in Guild wars 1 a sinister pet wich is fully buffed up can score hits way above what a warrior can do all while maintaining a permanant 21 damage reduction high speed attack rate and powerfull Healing, Pets also could be endlessly called back to life using heal as one without any death penality.
In close to all way warrior were inferior to pet ranger (bad heal less tanky less damage) save for the fact that despite their lower damage they could chain knockdown any target to its doom using a well balanced hammer build but to even do that they ned to sacrifice close to all form of survivability. The ranger itself had non existant damage as a compensation but the pet alone acted as a heavy dps powerhouse. Pet were the heavy physical damage aspect of the ranger and reflected the bestial power of nature well.
In guild wars 2
The Ranger always possess decent damage regardless of traiting but pet was highly weakened as a consequance. While the damage ratio of a beast master ranger was of 1% ranger to 99% pet the damage ratio of a BM ranger in Guild wars 2 is actualy at best of 40% ranger to 60% pet and this result into them as a team dealing fairly decent damage but behing extremely weak individualy. Pet also has a very long recharge cooldown on death dies to nearly anything and cannot dodge wich makes it prey to about every AOE attack. While my Jingle bear could solo tank Duncan in GW1 my Jaguard in guild wars 2 needs to be constantly watched on to keep it alive. They need to at least make pet specialising better then this.

Someone hinted up that there would actualy be Polearms somewhere in the data base… does this means we will get to have scythe, lance and halberds soon? And on what class? necromancer? warrior? guardians?
[&AgGyWAAA] this is the link that was posted in the forum and to be honest i like the idea of wandering around in Kodan armor and pretending im a dervish all over again
Polearm could be anything from a cavalry lance (not a spear a lance) to a halberd or a scythe… but i like the idea of fighting with a scythe quite a lot.
Guild Wars 2: Winds of change (could be also called Echoes of primordius as it likely will deal directly with the destroyers)
- New region – Dominion of winds
- New race – Tengu
- New trait, skill (6 new novice 6 new majster and 6 new grandmaster trait per profession, 6 new utility and 1 new elite per profession)
- New class – Dervish (Based from the Air mysticism tree)
- New weapon – Polearms (Scythe, Halberds, Cavalry spear)
- New weapon – Battle axe (Two handed axe)
- New dungeon – Depths of destruction
- New dungeon – Throne of the winds
- New pvp map – Volcano setting
- New pvp map – Canthan town setting
- New pvp map – Jade quarry setting

thats because of achievement box and you aint sure to have it fully
Guild Wars 2 still is a Superior quality MMO despite all that was said and done. However there is several reason ill likely play ESO for a while and they are
1. i finished the game with all class (80 and geared)
2. got a craft to 500
3. got a high level in fractals (more then i ever hoped for)
4. tried the stronguest build and played them (aka most meta)
5. Finished prety much everything Worth doing in this game and since there is no actual new permanant content Worth myself dedicating to i need to keep myself busy with something interesting
for all those reason ill likely go to a downgraded quality MMO as you call it and play it so to do something ’’NEW’’ Scarlet was in no way something as great or interesting as in an expension and i didnt actualy bother to spend time doing her storyline. Since april doesnt seems to bring anything interesting ill be just leaving for a while and play something new until GW2 itself has something new as well. Its not a question of game quality its just that like everyone i like doing something ’’new’’.
Well lets see it the bright side… less money for run vendor… less runs and at least the dude that aquired arah armor in pvp did aquire it after a huge time of works.
Idk if this was posted yet but the lynx female charr new face seems to have a cliping issue with its botom teeth actualy getting trought its lips. There are several picture of this on the charr forum female topic. I find it sad such a cute visage would have a bug with the botom teeths. Im sadly not curently on my own computer otherwise id also put a picture but im prety sure those teeths placement werent actualy intended.
(asura have their sharp teeths behind their lips why do a female charr model has them actualy moving trought it?)
I made a red square around the area wich i think is having a cliping issue
Am i alone to have noticed Lynx face has a cliping issue with the botom teeth? This face would be infinitively cuter if the middle teeth didnt actualy ’’clip’’ out of the bottom lips. If you need any proof take a look at nekomimi pics… I do also have the face on my character and altrought its wonderful to look at it could be even better with no teeth cliping
(made a square at the location)
Its a shame realy.

wow… that picture makes me dream of making my ele look like this.. anyway your all done for because i already reserved Annie as a name
10/10 to Zijju it perfectly match asuran style for short name lots of repeating letter and Z,X,K or U presence
I dont think asura name ever had a e at the end even for female save for Taimie but shes an anomaly so ill rate 9/10 (Temie)
Tripxi (Asura female warrior)
Kami (Asura female thief)
Kira (Asura female necromancer, heck is she also is my main so i ned her a significant name wich sadly isnt much RP)
stop trolling already im gunna die laughing…
well those alchemic turret will be interesting to have with long buff uptime :P
im actualy more concerned about the fact that the change from critical to ferocity is actualy just their first step in their attempt to put damage to the same level as other specialisation… they are normalising the damage so to go for the next step… i can explain it in a comparison
The butcher tenderise the meat… before it is bought and utherly cooked up
Currently Anet is tenderising the critical damage stat so to make it easyer to post nerf it accordingly (its easyer to downgrade raw numbers then percentage…)
‘’This wont end well’’… or at least it will for zerker based players.
To be honest i would like to see a reemergance of sword/shield warrior around… i miss running stuff like final trust and all out strenght builds :P
you do are aware vigil armor is already a spartan style armor right? only missing the round aegis and then you will only need a spear.
right now we talking necro versus necro but what about necro versus other target? Just because condimancer can kill MM doesnt mean MM cant do better then condimancer in other situation (aka killing a warrior)
I wouldnt ditch out necromancer short so quickly yet… Minion master and conditionmancer both are very dangerous threat in pvp when played right and can easily topple down builds like warriors who runs on health regeneration and buffing with mass debuff and poisons. heck is their fear also allows them for a long time crowd control. Thief is good at playing hide and seek but thats prety much all its epic at.
Dare to put in your stability ill boon strip it from you… I dont care if you have zerker stance or not… it doesnt immunise you to my knockdown, nothing will as long as i got a focus in my offhand. You better have a lot of strong aoe because your prety warrior will get swarmed and pummeled to death… Put a thief in against me and your only escape is stealth, if i ever manage to immobilize you with my dagger or my minion your a goner. Mesmer are trickyer as they can disapear constantly hide behing multi targets and got near endless stun/immobilize breaker.
(edited by kyubi.3620)
tell me how is this build supose to… kill people? I mean i see a lot of cond damage here but dear it looks like a ’’1’’ spammer o_O
if they have no necro whats their 8th class?
but but i will no longuer be able to spam /surprised with my charr to make it look like im flying like nyan cat
(mostly done in spvp random arena when i kill a player and want to mess around or are utherly bored waiting on a flag and with another player around)
meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow…. (asura golem quote)
meh maybe not an entire traitline but MM will still remain a spec in itself
Any of you Wonder what kind of gear well have for modremoth dungeon? I want a Grass style armor or a return of the GW1 elite druid armor… those cleavage…
