can someone with knowledge about necro development drop by and say at least a word about the necromancer’s state?
This profession is neglected in every discussion since forever. I tried to bring that matter to developers yesterday during SotG, but it went unheard and unanswered. Engies, eles, warriors, rangers were the hot topics, I understand, but let me just say – it doesn’t mean necros are okay. Far from that.
The Temple of the Silent Storm week showed us how some mechanics and map design favour professions with good mobility in design. How long can we be forced to play our beloved profession without any help?
Competitively I want to be able to do more than just stand on the upper ground spamming marks or wells and using the rez signet, occasionally soaking up damage in plague form. This is not fun.

I read between the lines and have been following their decisions and comments forever now.
I can assure you it in fact is the final state unless they get some reason and fix their PvP.
I agree and will do the same. Just to boring to stick around.
It isn’t even like an invisible elo rating. It’s more like some kind of internal number or indicator that is a basis for a calculation of team indicator that is then used to match your current team against another one in a paid tourny.
So don’t expect that they have an invisible number tied to every account and winning a match adds to this number while losing subtracts some points. It probably shouldn’t even be called ‘rating’ considering what people think when they hear that.
Hot-joins got to go, add solo queue.
For me personally, SotG was make or break and it turned to be a break. Nothing of substance, poor moderation, a lot of pointless talk, underutilised player guests. No meaningful discussion on profession balance/philosophy fulfillment.
I may consider coming back when PvP is ready for something more than one sad game a day.
Solo queue would be a first step in right direction.
More devs and a good moderator that actually knows the hot topics and can ask about them.
We need a person that can keep the discussion flowing and get some questions answered.
After 3 SotG’s every time we know just as much as blog post and forums tell us.
We will surely have an opportunity to ask them today.
I’m just hoping the SOTG doesn’t turn into useless mumble like the first one with guys praising the PvP and debating one or two of their biggest gripes without getting the questions answered.
Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against topQP players invited, but it really should be a community event, not a situation where they talk about only one profession or one skill for 30 minutes.
Ele downstate needs to be nerfed just like ele.
Other than that, there is a counter to every other profession.
A party kicked me from a fractal before a final boss. This is the first time I encountered this kind of situation.
How should I report that guy and how to prevent such a disgraceful behaviour? Has anyone been in such situation and what did you do?
Btw. he just linked me his loot from the fractal with a smiley.
How am I supposed to continue playing now, having seen and played with that shameless person?

I really need Custom Arenas and spectator mode.
And most importantly, Anet has to, and it’s an absolute must, do something to bring more people to tPvP and make them stay. At this point it is really hard for me to think of a thing that could do this.

Mesmer: 30 clones up at all times, stealth duration increased to 30 seconds and MOA CD reduced to 10 seconds
Don’t forget Time Warp granting irremovable stability for the whole duration of the spell, that is 30 seconds.

Teleporting to the Wurm (effectively killing it) does not trigger the poison cloud from the Death Magic grandmaster trait.
Poor or no scaling with Healing Power at all.
If you are aiming at PvP there is a lot of disappointment and a lot of hard work waiting for you.
Few things you need to know about necro in the current PvP environment:
- You will be the primary target especially in the beginning of the match. This wouldn’t be a problem in itself, but necro has no strong defensive ability outside of the plague form so if the enemy team decides to focus you, your role changes from spreading conditions, corrupting boons and interrupting targets to trying to stay alive and kiting around.
- All you will do is use Staff + Scepter/Dagger in all of two viable and safe builds necro has.
- You have kitten mobility and close to none stability so effective roaming is out of discussion.
- You will be the worst 1v1 profession in game considering the Conquest mode.
- You will get gibbed many, many times.
- Ele is better and more fun.
What are you talking about?
Necro is a free kill so you shouldn’t get points for killing them.

It is possible you may be unable to get a change, but maybe….
I watched Tsurugi play axe necro and it definitely has strong points.
I played another setup on my necro numerous times while trying different builds and there definitely is a potential.
The axe is a weapon that I feel is designed to support necro’s Death Shroud. It is quite fun to play, well the whole power build is rather enjoyable compared to standard condi necro.
The one thing that this kind of necro needs is new DS UI so you can actually get most of those builds. I hope it is coming soon, because as it is now, it really cripples necros.
I can also promise that, unlike most of people posting here, I will test this particular build in paid tournaments and try to get some feedback, taken I remember to.

Yeah, that’s what we realised with my team today.
Why does it take up to 5 seconds for models to load in HotM?
I know that it isn’t really necessary there to see other players, but it just feels like a beta test.
Any chance for fixes? ;(
Here’s the solution I came up with.
1v1 queue, winner stays, loser out.
A team can play up to four matches (taken it wins consecutively).
Randomly chosen maps.
Opponents are matched dynamically from teams that just joined or won a match already.
So basically such system enables an increase of reward – you get the reward based on how many matches you managed to play while retaining the traffic.
The only problem I can think of with ‘winner stays’ system is the entry cost/reward ratio.
Warriors fixed, how couldn’t people see how simple it can be.

What a troll patch. Nothing, literally nothing of vital importance to pvp has been done for this update. In the meantime, there are couple of quality changes for PvE.
I’m disappointed.

I think they said this previous guru’s state of game e01 or in twitch thing. So dont expect anything big this month.
I believe it was directed more at PvP other than balance changes, i.e. we won’t get any CA or MM, but balance is still coming.

Can I please ask Arheundel.6451 to stop protecting ele on every possible occasion and think, for one moment think, reasonably and realise that eles are too strong compared to other professions.
I have a feeling that you are just afraid of not being op anymore and having to actually work to win.
For me, the most crucial part we need to get is to have more build diversity for some professions.
Question 2: What is the end goal for sPvP? For this question ill use a metaphor. At the moment it feels like we’re building a car but we only have the engine, and the engine is no good without wheels or a shiny body. So what I’m asking is; what will the game look like when the car is finished?

What should be done – Warrior, Ranger, Necro and probably Engineer should be brought to the level of Elementalist, Mesmer and Guardian viability/strength/diversity.

there are a few builds that are quite good acually… its not cuz you dont see many warriors in the current meta that they are not viable… I can even see a warrior work instead of thief since thiefs die in 2 hits anyway. 1tip. dont take frenzy, take the sigil of rage on your gs and get a more usefull utility like fear or balanced stance. Also get runes of lyssa with reduced signet cd, does the trick for me.
Here comes the Big Playasauruz. Watched this warrior work on Sauruz’s stream, and I used this sigil/rune setup on my power necro. It really works people!
