Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
Ah yes, I am sure they would go with a model that would make them less money if they had an alternative that would give them a more steady and increased income.
What makes you assume that it is temporary?
The majority of the things from the last release have been permanent after all.
So, why don’t they sell them cheaper?
Ah yes, I am disagreeing with you, thus I am a troll.
It is funny how we get these posts every single time there is a preview.
Why can’t we just wait until the patch actually hits before shouting about it being too small?
There might be a reason to reveal little of the content.
Based on the trailer for the new update coming next week I would say we are in for quite some dark stuff.
After seeing that page about a “previously unseen ally”(Hint wink nudge Scarlet) my heart sank.
I am quite sure that Scarlet is not a “previously unseen ally” since she has been seen quite a bit. Previously unseen would suggest it is something new.
Then maybe you aren’t as skilled as you believe?
There is not a single class in the game that would win against superior skill
You are however completely ignoring the fact that the game is not and never will be balanced around 1v1.
hahaha so good
i would just sieg up some tower or keep and keep farming bags tbh at this point xD
Meh, we don’t need to do that in order to farm.
We can just stand outside Hills (hostile) in our map and farm Kael ^^
They were released at the same time as Costume Brawl last year. Before them there were not a single item that made it possible to costume brawl (this has been change since, but before that was the case).
The Costumes are just that. Costumes. Not armor.
They can’t be combatable since they actually give costume brawl-skills, that wouldn’t work in combat, since the skills don’t do any damage.
They were town-clothes last year as well, so it would be quite unlikely that they suddenly weren’t.
They are used for Costume Brawls, and thus can’t really be combat-able.
Another thing to keep in mind is that just because they are developing the game doesn’t mean they can just snap their fingers and suddenly have a new functionality added. It takes time and resources to program stuff, and even if they did decide to add it it would probably end up hurting more than helping.
I find it quite interesting that you apparently know the reason for why everyone is buying stuff.
What makes you so sure people only buy it for the buff?
And if they did, how come there are still loads of items without buffs being sold?
The costumes are in the gemstore right now.
Because it most likely wouldn’t work in a game that is built completely different without some major changes?
Which would kitten off all those that bought it when they were released just to find out that a few hours later the price dropped. Don’t you see the issue with this?
I have NEVER seen something drop in price a few hours after release, especially not that steeply.
I have seen sales, but sales just a few hours after something was released? (Unless they had a sale as part of the release that is) No, I have not actually seen that, and that is exactly what you were saying. “Drop the price down as soon as it has paid for the dev cost”.
I am not the one talking about stuff being hard.
And lets face it. Ascended Gear is not HARD to get, it takes time, but it sure ain’t hard.
Ascended is also rather easy to acquire. Sure it takes time, but it is still easy.
Getting Exotic at release took quite some time as well
Was there an outcry about content being “trivial” in Exotic gear before Ascended was released?
As far as I remember there weren’t. And those extra % you get from going Exotic — Ascended won’t make anything trivial unless it already was trivial in Exotics.
What makes you think they will change that?
If they didn’t build the game around Exotics at release why would they suddenly build the game around Ascended now?
Why do people keep shouting about how MASSIVE the gap will be and how REQUIRED Ascended will be?
The difference between Rare and Exotic is larger than between Exotic and Ascended. And yet it is fully possible to run around in WvW and kill people, it is possible to complete every single dungeon in Mastergear Items and so on.
If it was such a massive difference, wouldn’t that difference have been even more massive between Rare and Exotic? And yet no one seems to complain about that.
? Most of that isn’t from the living story its just updates that any normal mmo gets… and thats not a lot of stuff at all….. Not enough to make me and my friends come back.
Also some of the things you’ve said are trivial.
I sence you just don’t want to pay money.
None of the stuff you’ve listed is comparable to a real expansion go check out World of Warcrafts expansions, or guild wars 1’s expansions.
I have never mentioned Living Story. I am talking about Living World, which is what they call their 2-week release system.
Just because it is not enough to make you and your friends come back doesn’t mean they are not adding and/or fixing stuff.
Most of the things I posted is far from trivial and make the game much better and playable.
I already pay money. I buy gems, and clearly enough people are doing that. Since ArenaNet seems to be able to keep releasing new stuff every 2nd week for free.
Most of the stuff I posted is exactly what you get from a real expansion.
Incorrect, there is quite a bit of stuff that have been permanent addition that has been added with the Living World model.
We have gotten a new area, new dungeon path, two new dungeons that are coming back as fractals, new fractal, new reward system, new WvW stuff, revamped world events, improved crafting and so on.
And yes, we have gotten new weapon and armor-skins with the Living World.
*This game IN MY OPINION NEEDS
All of those things can (and most likely will) be added via the Living World updates. No need for an expansion to get all those stuffs.
It is important to note that the game is rated Teen. Which means they can’t make stories like the Witcher (rated M) or Game of Thrones (Definitely not a T-rated story).
Also at so point the development costs of festive items have been paid for. They should drop the price at that point, so more players can afford these fun items. Anet may even make a larger profit this way.
Expensive festive items are bought more by guild farming and not with cash.
So basically kitten off those that bought the item in the first place just to find out that a day after release they could have gotten the same item for much less?
Anet is not making money off these items now! They cost too much to use real money on.
Players buying more expensive items in the gem store. Will use their left over gems on smaller less expensive festive items.
Cheap festive items will also act as a gold and gem sink.
Anet needs cheap items for impulse buyers.
Oh?
I see a rather massive amount of those items around in the game at all times, but I suppose they were somehow hacked into the game rather than bought then?
Players buying more expensive items will already have bought the gems, thus if they use the leftovers or not is quite uninteresting from a money-making view. There are also quite a few cheap items that they most likely could spent the gems on.
“Expensive” festive items is also acting as a gold and gem sink. In order for it to work just as good as it is now one most be able to guarantee that the amount of cheaper items would provide a large enough sale to be comparable to the amount currently being bought at the “expensive” price.
Impulse buyers will by items they find nice no matter the price.
There is still people left fighting in UW. GuM is not going anywhere.
And last night we managed to get a rather massive zerg in homeborder and wipe the enemy quite a few times and retake most of our stuff in there, so there is still fighting going on, even if the majority of the guilds decided to flee.
Money won’t fix an issue. Work will, and no matter how much money you throw at an issue it won’t magically go away.
Yes, it is a known problem. But it is definitely NOT a gamebreaking problem for ALL players. Sure it might hit everyone now and then, but it is not gamebreaking most of the time.
And knowing a problem doesn’t mean it will magically change itself. It still need work, and they ARE working on it and HAVE made changes that HAVE lessened it.
Funnily enough the “gamebreaking problem” wasn’t really that gamebreaking and big before the league and influx of new players started, so clearly it is only “gamebreaking” during certain times (which of course is bad enough, but I wouldn’t call it gamebreaking if it didn’t actually effect the game at ALL times or at least most of the time).
To Sell game accounts and SE…
That does not prove intent.
No.
These are items you don’t need. They are extras, and they still cost money to create. Why would they bother spending money on creating stuff if they don’t really earn enough from it?
Why do people keep assuming that they are not doing everything the can to fix issues like this?
Threads like these make is sound like ArenaNet simply sits on their backsides all day doing nothing. Problems like these are most likely extremely complex to fix in a good way, and therefore takes time.
Personally I have not have much issues with Skill Lag since the latest wave of optimization.
So basically people are stupid enough to just watch a short video and then buy a game?
Would you complain about a movie you went to see after you read the first synopsis release before the movie even started filming, if it weren’t exactly like said synopsis?
It is the topic of this thread, what did you expect to find in here? Of course we are discussing the Manifesto in a topic called “According to the manifesto”.
People…
I think he referred to the fact that people still seems to take the Manifest as 100% truth and final, which it never actually was, and also seems to ignore all clarifications and information posted after it but before release.
Well, WvW players is “forced” to do PvE for world completion as well.
Just because they have 50 people on the same map doesn’t mean they will all run around in a zerg.
And no, I have seen fights with more than 50 people (and quite many on other sides) without “unplayable lag”.
I think 50 guild members in 1 borderland map is enough ( I know guild can increase to 500 members)
community event? then its out of wvw, make another gvg mode, enabled same guild in the same server fight each other.
So we should basically punish big WvW-guilds?
No, it is fully possible to have WvW-community events as well.
But how can you decide that?
What if server A have low population, but they are facing server B and C which both have Very High population, should they get more maps or not?
What about guilds with more than that?
What about community events with several guilds?
But how would that solve anything?
Making maps take time, and for some servers adding more maps might create major issues due to them already having too few people to fill the already existing maps.
I think you misunderstood my post.
What I said was that there are more than a few guilds that have 30+ active members in WvW.
There are quite a few guilds that have more than 30 active WvW:ers
Hm?
Wouldn’t it be likely that this is due to the very fact that he does not go through all his “phases”?
The fight is supposed to have several phases after all and bypassing them might very well break the achievement.
Hm?
I see quite a few of the usual players on my server in WvW.
Sure there might be some queues, but it is far from impossible to play.
Why are people so afraid of some more people finding their way into WvW?
No, I work through a list that is given me as a QA in the first step.
I check the list, then I check the product. I see the facts. I evaluate them.
Best gear easy to get for a casual (5h playtime a week). No.
Do content relevant bosses respawn in short time frames. Yes.
“Grinding is no fun, so we do not want people to grind.” statement. FalseI don’t care about testing, or editing, I check he hard facts. And in this matter, ANet has failed his own Manifesto.
It is still easy. It just takes time. Time != Difficulty.
No, they do not, every single specific boss I have killed in Personal Story stayed dead.
Refers to mandatory grind which does not exist, unless counting playing the game a grind.
A manifesto is still not an absolute truth. It is an intent and a plan.
You also seems to completely ignore the fact that all those things were also clarified upon just a few days after the Manifest and YEARS before you could even buy the game.
The only way I see this work is you would be unable to see any other player while you were there.
Otherwise it would be way too easy to abuse the system.
And also make it completely impossible for larger WvW guilds to play together.
areanet has become another blizzard, disappointed me again with sequel, I am sorry, but gw2 is really boring LOL
And yet here you still are.
