No, it doesn’t really need to give lot of AP. Some players would do anything that gave them easy APs, no matter how few.
Just look at all the posts on the forums about people complaining that they can’t do certain stuff for those extra 5 APs.
Why would they suddenly change this?
The game has been out for over a year, and it is still not balanced to require Exotic or even Rare gear, so why would it suddenly start requiring Ascended?

There is another update-day before Halloween itself, so it is fully possible that more stuff will be released by then.
If you want to compete in achievement highscores you have no choice but doing as many dailies, monthlies and living story as you can. So this daily which takes more effort than 10 other dailies combined seems out of order.
So you basically want to be the “best” without having to do the work to be so?

Good thing you don’t have to complete ALL dailies then, aye?
Adding more WvW specific dailies is a good idea, since some of us more or less only play WvW, and we should have the same ability to get our dailies done as PvEers.
Well, there ARE Unlimited Tools (or well, were in the case of Sickle and Axe for now) in the gem-store. And since they have already been sold it is most likely not really possible to go back and make everything unlimited.
Yeah, so lets hold the ability to make/use addons responsible instead of the people that force you to use them. This reminds me of that time that idle gun shot somebody.
Or simply don’t allow them at all, which would solve the problem without giving ArenaNet the extra workload needed to check and accept/deny every single add-on people do.
What I was saying however was that there is always a risk that groups would require all members to use certain add-ons, which would effect the game negatively, since not everyone want to download un-official stuff.
It could also create quite massive problems for ArenaNet as a company if one of these add-ons did large damage to users (even if they make it clear that they don’t take responsibilities for 3rd party stuff).
I am against this simply because it will always be a risk for people to require using certain add-ons. And I for one don’t feel like downloading possibly malicious software to my computer just so that I can do stuff in this game.
And do you really think that has nothing at all to do with the fact that it is “annoying” to check gear currently?
But it will also most likely increase the issue with elitism.
A great example of this is LotRO. You have the ability to stop people form inspecting you, but most groups won’t take you if you have that one active, simply because they can’t inspect you.
If the ability to inspect doesn’t exist at all situations like that would be much more rare (sure some people will still shout about people pinging gear, but most won’t bother with it.)
So just because some elitism exist, we should increase the elitism even more?
I see people using it all the time, the “issue” is that parties fill up within seconds, so it is easy to miss.
Would make it completely impossible to sneak-take a keep/tower, since as soon as the Lord saw the enemy he would call out and get people there.

There is already more than enough elitist kitten in the game, no need to make it easier for them.
One way to solve this issue is to try to come up with original and personal names for the characters, instead of “common” one.
I have yet to find a single name on any of my character (last created quite recently) that wasn’t free.
Just wait, within the next 3 months – give or take – the playerbase will begin dropping…

I truly hope that they don’t make GW2 flop with this “Living World” story.
Excuse my cynicism. But the LS is proving to be a larger and larger disappointment, only providing grind to a game where we were promised no grind.
But then again that have been said more or less after every single Living Story chapter since they started with the living story, and still the concurrency numbers seem to increase rather than decrease.
I prefer new stuff every 2nd week over new stuff once per year (or something like that) which will be completed within a month anyway.

We heard of Scarlet as early as Flame & Frost if we spoke to the prisoners after Molten Alliance Facility. True, it was not by name, but we did get the name in the Aetherblade Retreat.
The path is pretty amazing tbh, so I don’t mind it replacing the previous TAFU. Since we can assume that the new path is only here for a month though, I expect things to return to normal afterwards.

Do I need to play it to know that what was once a sylvari/Nightmare Court-themed dungeon path has been replaced by something with Aetherblade Pirates?
Yes. Because you have no clue about how they have handled it.
For all we know all the lore and such from the former path is in there.
So why not fix it with something that appropriately thematic? Whey inject Scarlet into yet another area of the game where her presence is not required?

Since all the 3 paths were separate versions of the story, there is absolutely no reason lore-wise to remove one of them.
But that might be one of the issues they have discovered.
As far as I know TA Explorable is the only dungeon which have 3 patch where only one can actually happen at the same time.
All other dungeon paths can all happen independent of each other, but the TA only ONE can happen due to how they are built, and maybe they have decided to start fixing that?
It’s lazy in that, all that was wrong with forward/up was that the boss was bugged pretty bad, and it would have been easy to repair, as it had been working fine before a certain update. I like how one person put it somewhere earlier in this thread, “they’re chopping the arm off because of a broken finger” they designed the new dungeon path anyways, the reason given for replacing the path instead of just adding it doesn’t seem good enough.
So, doing MORE work is being lazy? I would say that sounds quite backwards.
Sure they could have fixed the bugs. But then people would have complained about something else in there.
Did you assume that you would skip 20 levels worth of Personal Story with the scroll?
You can do them and still get xp and level up (the xp scales with your level, not the level of the mission).
Same situation, I’m short one more daily too. It looks like the new monthlies rolled out and the teq dailies are removed. Unfortunate since it’s technically not October yet.
It is in Europe ^^ And I believe the dailies/monthlies are reset based on that time.
Very likely it was least played simply because of the final boss issues. Which means you killed it not because people didn’t like it, but because you didn’t bother to fix the bugs.
So instead of fixing a few bugs (probably wouldn’t take much time if someone was dedicated on only those bugs) they created a completely new path with new mechanics and new bosses and that is a bad thing?
People seem to imply that ArenaNet took the “lazy way out”, which really doesn’t make any sense at all, due to the fact that fixing the bugs would most likely take way less time than doing the new path.
Arah P4 is also bugged (in a way that made it impossible to even complete, unless they have fixed it), and yet that was apparently not the least played, so most likely the issue was more than just bugs.
It is quite interesting that people seems to imply that ArenaNet are taking a lazy way out of things.

Your missing the point. Why is this lore outside of the game. Why has every revelation we have had about anything in the lore either given by a piece like this or through an interview with their lore team?
It hasn’t.
Scarlet was introduced in game for one.
So was the Molten Alliance and the Aetherblades.
Some things simply don’t make sense to put in the game and is not needed to understand the story, thus they can add them outside of the game to give it some extra flavor.
If all you care about is the achievement. If you care about experiencing all the content in the game, sucks to be anyone who doesn’t get it done by tomorrow.
So they should basically never change anything at all in the whole game, but only add stuff on top of it?
Because if they change anything someone wouldn’t be able to experience it, and that would be a bad thing, right?
Instead, he thinks remotely challenging content should be removed because it forces you to use more than a single brain cell.
Oh, I am rather sure people complained about how hard Aetherblade Retreat and Molten Alliance Facility were back when they were released, and it is the same team that have done this one. So don’t assume it will be easy or easier than the path it replaces. It is a lvl 80 path after all.
They never said anything about removing fractals. If they did, it would probably be the long ones, like Dredge.
But they talked about reworking the long ones and also adding a logarithm so that you don’t get 3 long fractals in a row. Can’t remember the thread it was in, but it was a red post.
They are just being silly and spamming the forums because of the fact that the new TA path will replace the old F-U.
A big fail to consider also, is this REMOVES great lore and background about caithe and sylvari, and some nice cutscenes. This should not have happened Anet.
What makes people so sure that it will be removed?
How can we know that it is not simply added elsewhere?

You most likely will. If you play early and manage to do it before the patch hits.
Incorrect. English is not considered the “international language of the world”. In certain business German is considered the international language for one.
Also, i feel it’s bad because last permanent addition to the game has been November 2012 with Fractals + Southsun.

So many people here are missing why people complained about this path. It’s because the final boss didn’t reset properly.
This does not mean the entire path needed to be removed.

I am quite certain we saw quite a bit of complaining about the dungeon even before the change that stopped the boss from resetting.

Everything without specific language tags are international servers and thus have no official language.
I hatedkitten however I absolutely loved the lore around it. It deserved a better story and the Fae-Sylvari and the Courts deserve a better story. Did you ever STOP AND READ the dialogue they have in that story?
And have you seen everything in the new path?
How do you know that said lore is lost?
It’s not against the rules, but if you’re on an English server people might dislike you for it. So best to either join a server that’s in your own language, or join a guild that speaks your language and avoid typing on the map chat. If you don’t care about a few angry people though then go ahead, they can’t get you banned for it
There are no English servers though.
So, we have had months of people complaining about F-U, now they do something to address that issue.
And now people suddenly seems to think that F-U was the most awesome and perfect path ever.
ArenaNet really can’t win.
If they don’t change stuff people complain that the world is not changing and stuff is bad, boring and don’t get fixed.
If they do change stuff people complain that they fix stuff and that the bad, boring and unfixed stuff was good as it was.
But there isn’t, all 3 of the paths use the same areas, they just use different sections of those areas, EX: In one path you go up a ramp that leads into a hallway, but in another path you go past the ramp and through a door that was closed and end up in the same hallway.
I am fully aware about how TA works. I have done it quite a few times.
What I said was that there might be a reason for why F-U specifically was changed that will be explained in the release.
We also don’t know if they made other changes to the other paths as far as I have seen/heard.
