What’s so special about the humans that they were the only ones chosen to become Exalted? Glint had an entire order of Dwarves at her disposal that were devoted to her and her ways. Why got so out of your way (by a whole continent) to abduct/manipulate groups of humans to go to Maguuma for your trials?

Weird lore is weird. Let’s hope it makes more sense later on.

I would guess because the Dwarves already had an anti-dragon mechanism?

You seemingly don’t realize that the previous dragon rise left Tyria in ruins and eradicated most life on the planet. The few races that survived this and kept the knowledge about it also kept it a secret. There isn’t even the slightest similarily in this.

But why would they? And why would that be all okay that they didn’t mention those massive threats, but there seems to be the worst thing ever that they didn’t mention these secret magical Warriors?

People still know about the Fall of Rome, but there is plenty of people that know nothing at all about of bunch of people living in the northern parts of Scandinavia for example.

The importance of a situation or creature is relevant to if it is talked about or not.

So a race of hidden lizard-men with very little actual influence over the world being forgotten is used as an argument that massive EXTREMELY strong and dangerous mountain-range sized Dragons (which multiple creatures we actually talk with have faced) were not talked about?

Stories evolving is one thing, stories being retconned and lore being contradicted is another. Why would glint mention the dragons if they were asleep, it wasn’t very relevant at the time.

Here’s actual GW lore:

“On the fourth day, delirious with hunger, Saul emerged from the trees to see what he thought was a hallucination—a golden city of massive towers reaching into the heavens. The architecture was astounding, and the creatures who lived here were unlike any he had ever seen. Walking down into their city, Saul got a closer look at the denizens of this place. They were tall and thin with strange wing-like appendages that waved about in the slightest breeze. When they walked, their feet seemed not to touch the ground, and when they spoke, it was the most melodious sound he had ever heard. Surely these creatures were the stuff of divinity”

Gold city. In the maguuma. Full of mursaat.

But now there’s another golden city in the maguuma, full of things that look like mursaat but aren’t, built to house an egg (just one egg, not all 200 from gw1, and not the one that had already hatched in gw1!) and this makes sense how?

It’s like the writers for GW2 read half the GW1 wiki and said “YEAH OK, I THINK I GOT IT, FORGOTTEN IN THE MAGUUMA, FORGOTTEN ARE THE BIRD PEOPLE RIGHT?”.

Also I’m pretty certain that 250 years ago the forgotten had already been, you know, forgotten by humans, surviving only in the crystal desert. But just 50 years before that they were turning humans into mursaat lookalikes? I mean, it wasn’t even humans who were custodians of glint back then, it was dwarves, so it makes even less sense.

I don’t think you know what a retcon is.
For something to be a retcon it has to actually go against and/or change existing information. Nothing here does that.

You are also making plenty of assumptions. Such as the fact that the thing placed in the city is an egg. Where was this stated? Or are you just assuming?
You are aware that the legacy they talk about is something left BEFORE the game started, whilst the egg was being delivered AFTER the game was released, right?

What the kitten, ArenaNet. I really don’t see any good explanation for this. 300 years ago, the Forgotten had become a myth to most if not all of humanity. I wasn’t until the events of Prophecies that human civilization ran into them again (not counting Turai Ossa a few centuries before). So how is it that we never heard a word about this before? Sounds like another lore mess to me.

Edit: I’m also super annoyed by the fact that the Forgotten are now continuously presented as servants of Glint, where they were primarliy servants of the Six.

Ah, how much did we hear about those massive magic-eating Dragons before the very end of Eye of the North? Why weren’t we told about those? We interacted multiple times with both Glint and Mursaat, both which knew very well that these Dragons existed, and yet they never said a thing about it. What is it with people and only wanting to have stories based on the very first installation ever released? Stories evolve, if they didn’t, we would have run out of stuff a very long time ago.

Either this is some ruse to throw people off, or anet have really just thrown all the old lore out and are just making up nonsense now. If these things were created 300 years ago then why did glint never mention them, why did we never see them in gw1?

But they were there all along! loooool, pls hire new lore writers anet.

If the elder dragons had risen multiple times before, why didn’t anyone mention them in GW1?

It is also rather funny that you decide that it is weird that Glint didn’t mention the Exalted in GW1 but apparently have no issues whatsoever about her not telling people about the big-kitten freaking dragons killing everything sleeping around the world.

Stories evolve. Or do you really want them to only ever release stuff that was mentioned in the very first installation of a series?

I don’t know, it could lead to quite interesting situation.

Keep in mind that it is only 2 minutes AND it breaks as soon as you attack. Which means that it can basically only be used for surprise defense. Something that is already fully possible with a bunch of mesmers and dark-fields.

You can of course, you know, change the stats if the current stat-setup doesn’t work for your new character.

But, sure using it on characters that can’t use the same items could be seen at an issue. But on the other hand, being able to magically change your items to other items could be very bad for the economy, seeing as it might very well end up being cheaper to just do that than to craft the item you wanted in the first place.

population at prime >> off peak population

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few

It is a map for the borderlands. They have never been balanced. The “home server” always will and always should have an advantage.

It have been available for quite a bit actually, the last closed beta for it was several days long. And yes, it is rather fun. It is a large map with plenty of new things to discover and will change quite a bit how WvW is played.

There is no such thing as nightcapping. Ones night is someone else’s day.

Yes, it is frustrating. But at the same time, wouldn’t it be just as frustrating for the people playing during your night when their work is nullified during their night?

I am not sure PPK is the way to go to be honest, seeing as that would basically make people that play other times than the main prime time in their match up contribute much less than others. It might also lead to people simply avoiding fights and just karma train from capture point to capture point.

You are also talking about a SINGLE boss in the FIRST wing of the first raid. They are not going to add in more or less impossible to do fights as the very first showing of a raid.

We had 4 Engineers/Scrappers (only some of them took the specialization if I recall correctly). They were all wearing Rabid with whatever Sinister they had in their banks, since Sinister gear wasn’t available in the beta boxes. The Revenants, Warrior, and Chronomancer were all wearing their appropriate damage gear.

The fight is definitely challenging; make no mistake about it. But the fact that the only clears I’ve seen were by full zerk team denotes a number tuning problem. More defensive groups aren’t able to do it as easily.

Quite weird to say this in a thread where the group was NOT full zerk team.

I am aware that the gems will have to be bought in order to be traded for gold. That doesn’t really change my point though.

Player X buy a bunch of gems and trade them for gold. Player X have now spent real money on said gems.

Player Y decides to get gems with the gold he/she/it earned in-game. Player Y now have Z amount of gems without spending a single $ on it.

Player Y can now buy the expansion the the gem store without paying any real money, ergo get it for free.

Anet should at least try to fill in the missing heal and elite skill types in future patches. It just feels wrong to not have them, because it makes some skill traits a bit less useful. Also, why is warrior mending still not a physical skill?

And adding one for each skill type would require major changes to most of the traits, otherwise it would most likely become extremely overpowered rather fast.

There is a reason why they are usually not effected by traits after all.

Not unless they released it to the public. Stuff like that however are rather easy to test in-house, so it is fully possible that they have tested it and figured it simply wouldn’t be worth it.

What they did say was that they were going to LOOK INTO adding DX10. And since they clearly haven’t done that it seems likely that their looking into adding it showed that it was simply not worth it.

Here’s the question I’d like to know the answer to: When ANET were testing the raids internally and setting the difficulty, were their testers using ascended or exotic gear ?

Because the gear those testers were wearing is the gear ANET designed the raids for.

Ascended. Thus why they have claimed that the raids are balanced around Ascended gear and Ascended gear being required. Oh and the fact that you could get full Ascended gear during the beta by entering the raid.

Yes.

There are two kinds of Masteries when HoT is released.

One for the current areas, such as Fractal Mastery, Pact Commander Mastery and Precursor Hunter Masteries. These you can get experience for by playing the current maps.

Then there is another set, such as Gliding and those thingies, for the expansion areas, which can be leveled up by playing in the expansion areas.
