It is quite possible that there is a in-game reason for this path to be removed (other than the fact that people clearly hated it)

Well, people have been whining about the path more or less since release. And this is probably one of the best ways to fix it.

Actually people have repeatedly asked for wins to mean something. People have also asked for more open world objectives in WvW.
Leagues takes care of the first and bloodlust the second.

Sure it might not be in the way some people want it. But it still addresses both of those two wishes.

We also know that they have players in the alpha team (thanks to certain members that can’t respect contracts) which would most likely mean that they take feedback from those as well. And we don’t have a clue about what feedback they give.

You make it sound like it is a mistake.
It isn’t.
The Shatterer is not a single specific individual, it is a rank, and it is quite possible (even quite likely) that several of them exists at the same time.

The main issue is that the feedback added by players are in most cases vastly different and in some cases contradict each other. So who should they listen to?

Why do you think the Achievement is hidden and don’t reward APs?

Super Adventure Box achievements are still available because SAB is still available.

As far as we know it will leave with the patch coming on the 1st.

Unless they have added the do world event daily in permanently.

The kills are not the intent or purpose, the are a by-product of the fights. Just as in WvW, the kills are not the intent or purpose, they are a by-product of the fights.

They have something the other side wants and they are taking it by force.

Robbing players of their lives in WvW is fair game.

To pass back and forth

These three are also definitions of trading. And I would say all those three fits GvG quite well.

Suddenly? It have technically always been against the rules (if you decide to read the rules a certain way) so it wouldn’t really be something that “just popped up”.
ArenaNet have decided to not act against it because it has not been a problem.
But due to more and more spam about it everywhere it is fully possible that it is starting to become a problem, and they are within their full right to start enforcing the rule.

Basic deduction dictates when someone sees something and that something is corroborated by the majority then that something is likely the closest to reality. Devon has said multiple times the numbers he’s seeing aren’t declining yet the numbers everyone on the forums are seeing are. Logical deduction is he’s not making the a connection between metrics.

And yet not “everyone on the forums” see numbers declining either.
And technically the only real numbers are the numbers Devon have, since he does have exact numbers of the players in WvW and their increase and/or decline. Thus his number is much more likely to be unbiased than “random forum poster that lost his guild # 9001”, right?

I would love to know how you have the information about what the devs see and don’t see, because apparently you have much better insights than the rest of us on these forums.

I also love the fact that you talk about e-sports, when WvW have never in any way or form been talked about with e-sport.

Fractals is for lore, and to bring new players up to speed with what happened in GW1.

That would mean that they should delete all but one of the current (and confirmed future) fractals then? Because only one of those have anything at all to do with what happened in GW1.

Besides lore doesn’t need to be historic to be lore, something happening currently could be lore as well.

Well, he did have a point (if the story is true). You DID disturb his WvW, and the devs have made it quite clear that WvW will always be more important than GvG in WvW.

You have to keep in mind however that the only one that actually have any kind of numbers are ArenaNet.
And it is highly unlikely they would spend high amounts of money and resources on something that doesn’t increase (or worse, decrease) the amount of people playing. Thus I would say it is safe to assume that the living story does indeed increase the number of people playing.

No. I’d rather some things that are there to stay and require using brainpower instead of reading some prewritten guide.

Isn’t it your own fault that you uses the guide though?
As far as I know there is not a single thing in the game that directs you to said guide, which would mean that you would need to either know about it, or search for it yourself before using it.
If you feel like the game requires no thinking due to these guides, have you ever though about simply not using the guides and doing stuff yourself instead?

I for one like the living story.
I prefer to actually have new stuff to do every two week instead of having to wait a year or so for one months new content.

We will have leagues starting next Friday.
