Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
From Anet, already announced last year.
http://www.gamefront.com/guild-wars-2-level-cap-raise-confirmed-for-future/
That isn’t really a confirmation though.
All he says is that they are EXPECTING to raise the level cap in the future.
Technically, sure.
But seriously? It’s in the game. Let’s be real.
Indeed, the OPTIONAL grind is in the game. I see no mandatory grind however.
They also explicitly said about no grind, and here we have gear grind, gold grind and material grind.
Get real.
Incorrect. They said no MANDATORY grind in order to enjoy the game.
There is currently not a single thing you NEED to grind in order to do content in the game.
Of course, it probably won’t work in most cases, because people seem to only think about shinies (stupid skritts) and thus don’t look at the whole picture.
Denying the enemy siege, badges and materials is a rather smart strategy though, even if most people won’t use it.
Well…. it would be important to stop the enemy server from getting said Ascended materials in order to stop them from getting Ascended Weapons, right?
So technically there is MORE reason to defend stuff now.
Why do people keep assuming that new server = no lag?
It is quite likely that they already have more or less the best possible hardware.
LOL. You are so cute.
“In the future” sounds quite a bit further out than “soon”, and we all know by now what “soon” means.
So?
The OP didn’t want it to go away, I informed OP that it won’t go away permanently.
For all we know it will be back with the Halloween Update.
The reason for the increase is the anniversary sale that they have had the last week, with old wanted items back for a limited time.
People simply don’t want to spend real money on gems, so they trade in gold, which decreases the amount of gems available in the transfer and thus increasing the price.
It is indeed quite likely that there will be an actual story behind the new fight, if not it would be quite weird to have it as the main selling point for a living story chapter.
Well it is quite logical.
If it weren’t like this people would simply transfer to servers in the Gold League since it would give better rewards, no matter how bad the server does.
A winner should always be rewarded better than someone at the bottom, no matter which league it is.
The Gauntlet will return in the future.
To bring in more gem sales. Many of the refined mats can be bought on the TP. So, even if you have the mats you need to refine, you can only make one a day. Therefore, you are more likely to just trade gems for gold so that you can buy the refined mat straight off of the TP. The prices are probably going to be staggering at first, so it’ll net a nice bit of profit for them.
It’s basically a way of forcing everyone into a position of needing to spend gold since you can’t make what you need even if you have what you need to make it.
Oh? I had no idea the Ascended Weapons were temporary and that you HAD to get them within a few days of the release. Mind to link the source where this is stated?
Time gate will still be the easy part. It’s the 500 temples/dragons, 500 dungeons/jumping puzzles and 500 champions per weapon that will hurt more.
Would love to have a source on these numbers as well. Or were they only fictive in order to try to make a point?
^ What makes you think it would still drop after you reached the cap?
It does also destroy the whole point of salvaging blues and greens if you can simply buy it all on the TP.
What I hope is that this time the best loot comes from successfully beating the event and not stalling it to farm champs…
And hopefully it will be also punishing to those who come to the event, jam their 1 key down and go AFK.
Well, since you won’t get any drops from champs that spawn it would be quite stupid to farm said champs.
stupid excuse imo. Those Materials are still hard to get.
No they aren’t.
^ So, just because most people don’t want harder content they should not add even 1% hard content in the whole game?
Most likely to stop people from rushing through it and then whine after a week that they have already completed everything (as happened back at released).
^ And yet in the real world it is not really that uncommon for certain tournament to pass on the cup to the next winner after each finished tournament.
Why?
Celestial already have more stats than other items on the same tier, removing a completely useless stat (combat-wise) won’t really change that.
I believe there were some lines data-mined some time ago which implied that more slots will become buyable, I’ll see if I can find it.
This will be great… as long as it scales down cleanly, to offer a reasonable challenge to the five or so people that happen to show up once the novelty has worn off.
So basically making it a ground for people to abuse others because they turn up and increase the difficulty of the event?
The dragon events are supposed to be large-scale fights, they won’t (and shouldn’t) scale down to small groups.

We will also be able to get materials and weapons (with unique skins even) from the revamped Tequatl ^^
Wouldn’t a power-creep require that the game get harder and thus require the new gear in order to do stuff?
I doubt that will happen. The game doesn’t even require exotics, so why would it suddenly start requiring Ascended?
^ How would pve-players have 5% over WvW-players when it is done by crafting, which is fully possible to do in WvW as well?
If you could only get said weapons by doing Fractals or Dungeons I would agree, but as of now you can get them from crafting (both doable from PvE and WvW), Guild Missions (PvE), Fractals (PvE) and Rank-up Chests (WvW), now I am not that good with math, but I am rather sure that there are quite fair, due to the fact that you can get it from WvW in 2 ways and PvE in 3 (where one of them requires a guild, so it might leave out a big part of the players anyway).

Ascended gear will be sellable on the trading post. Maybe cheaper than legendaries.
Incorrect.
Ascended gear will (as with current Ascended items) be account-bound on acquire and soul-bound on equip.
It would be even worse if they DIDN’T get the boost, since that would mean that Legendaries would be “useless” due to them not being the best in-game.
No, Prophecies alone had rather bad lore and way too many unexplained things.
Sadly people seems to overlook all issues with GW1 and seems to think that it was released at the state that it were when they announced GW2.
Because one would expect that when a company does something and sees the reaction of their customer base, they learn from it.
Then again, one can always expect too much of a company.
And yet there are several parts of said customer base.
Some shout about stuff like this being awesome, whilst other hate it.
Which side should they listen to?
It won’t be in-game.
If it were they would have told you.
The other rl-event things have not been made available in-game so why would these?
Which is also exactly WHY they aren’t telling us when they are coming.

It’s not so much the pictures, but the names of the pictures that are interesting.
One is called “ascended weapons”, and has a picture of a new rifle, and the other is called “account magic find”.*They jumped the gun a bit, I think. *
Why?
They have talked about Ascended Weapons since they released the Ascended Tier back in November, and as far as we know they have worked on them since around that time as well.
And yet back in GW1 people whined about some lucky few got 100p minis whilst other got 50g ones.
People have complained about RNG since release, and now when ArenaNet decides to not have RNG people complain about the lack of RNG.
Which way is it?
^ Because it might very well be a test to see how invasion-type events would work in the game? More or less every single Living Story release have experimented with new stuff, so why assume it is not the same case here?
I really like GW2 and your game idatoea, I hope I can know more just “the view”,
I want to know the whole story, what NPC’s talking, and more deep history with the world, I really want to.
This is not just about the user interface, it is about how we can enjoy the whole game,
many friends of mine always said they will join me to play if GW2 have chinese translation version.
please, I really want to see it happened.
Which is also why they are releasing the whole game in China sometime in the future.
^ Indeed, I would personally love to see Dragon-minion invasions…..
Wait.. so we had set 1 released when the game went live.
And now when a year has past we get set 2. Is that really suprising?
Wouldn’t it be quite logical to assume that a set would be released per year, or was I the only one who assumed that?
Doubt it, they bought multiples so they have them on multiple characters. If the gathering tools are accountbound you’d still have to transfer them each time through the bank.
I know I would be quite annoyed if suddenly I had two account-bound of each of them. Had they been account-bound at release I would only had bought 1 of each, simply due to the fact that I can only play one character at a time anyway.
Changing gem-store item after people have bought it would be extremely stupid.
Which would create the same issue as the “log-out just before you die” issue we had at release.
The main issue with this idea is the fact that it can quite easily be abused in sPvP and WvW, by getting downed and then insta-dead as a way to rally the enemy group.
So… the issue seems to be that you farm the event because it is profitable? So what you basically want is to slow down the game for those of use who likes the story simply because you can’t control yourself enough to not spend all your time farming the same stuff over and over and over and over and over again?
Because it would be unfair to offer more to people who just got here, and for the same price?
People who bought deluxe long ago are loyal customers and should have some fairness at least.
Why?
That is how business have always worked, and always will.
People rush to buy something at release (I pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition about 5 minutes after it was made available) and then get to play for lets say a year with all the awesome stuff in-game (quite a bit that are no longer available).
People that wait on the other hand will always have a chance to buy it during a sale or with a special offer, which are more or less always released sooner or later with almost any product.
What if they release an expansion in a year or two and people gets the ability to buy the expansion and get the standard game free of charge? Would you demand to get the expansion free then? Because you bought the game two year ago?
Based on the Wiki (and tests made by myself) it seems like it will always fail if it is the last item in a stack.
So in order for it to work you need to have at least 2.
And that is most likely one of the issues: They might not be able to put them into the promotions tab unless they are actual promotions (such as sales) or labeled as new.
This is of course something that could be reprogrammed quite easily, but doubt it is a high priority issue.
It is indeed the same mini as the one earlier this year (they are having the 10 days sale where they bring back popular stuff)
I believe the main reason for it to be tagged as “New” is the fact that it should show up on the Promotions Tab.
Why fix something that is not broken?
Get a group of guildies/friends/randoms and spend an hour or so in there and you should be able to complete it.
^ And as far as they have told us, that is actually their plan.
And why should they listen to your part of the community more than to the part of the community that likes the fact that they are rare?
There are more than one part of the community, some want to be able to get everything without any issues, others want to have special stuff that is only available by doing special things.
I would actually very much enjoy that, I am sure most guilds who GvG would too… Rather than having the mindless zergs following a single player expecting to win via lag generation there may actually be some decent fights going on…
Get of your high horse.
Seriously.
Why would new player even bother trying WvW if the “elite” guilds behave like you do now?
With that kind of comments and way of thinking we will probably end up with a completely dead WvW, since apparently only the very small part of the community that does GvG is welcome.
The invasion events starts around the hour (01:00, 02:00 and soon) every hour.
Any overflow that is created within 10 minutes of said event start will have the event. So if you join the map at the hour you should be able to do the event, no matter how many overflows there are.
And here we go again: “GvG:er are those that put the most into WvW”.
I would love to see how a match-up in WvW would work if everyone but all those “awesome elite GvG:ers” didn’t play for a week. I can almost guarantee that a match-up like that would be extremely bad and most likely quite boring.
