Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
Oh?
Clearly you are on the forums, and so are loads of others based on the new posts coming in.
There is also quite nice increase of activity in WvW (at least for my server).
But they’re one and the same in this game, we’re all playing on testing servers.
Which is completely false.
How do you think the media manage to play and report on stuff before release if they don’t have test-servers?
Except this took… a few days to notice?
After it went live yes.
Which is quite plausible due to the difference between live and testing servers.
LOL. You’re so far up ANet’s backside that you can’t even recognize sarcasm when you see it.
Oh I am fully aware it was sarcasm, and I responded based on the fact that he implied that they didn’t test with the fact that even with massive testing stuff will get through and/or turn up on live servers.
Indeed, nice match-up this far. Quite intense fighting at Underworld Garrison ^^
I believe there was something data-mined some time ago about being able to buy double material storage or something like that.
It may be harsh, but I think it’s fair because some people can’t play on their own server because there’s someone from another server guesting on theirs. Another option may be to have someone from the home server move in front of guesters if queing for a spot on the main server.
Why?
If you didn’t wait until the last minute you most likely would be able to join in on your server. If not, use the system I mentioned earlier (joining a party on the home-server and then “Join in #map#”).
Guests are most likely seen as identical entities as natives in the queue system, so basing queue on nativity is most likely not possible.
Flip side is, why should someone who is trying to do things on their own home server not be able to and miss out because guests are filling up the maps?
Why should people be able to wait until the event starts and then kick out people playing with their friends because they happen to play on different servers?
Lol @ guy who just deleted post asking for evidence of anet’s previous stance, I see youuuu :P
Well, my post was no longer necessary since they question is asked was already answered in a post written while I wrote mine. So I really don’t see any reason to leave the post in since it doesn’t add anything at all to the topic (much like these two posts).
I wouldn’t say that is fair at all.
Why should someone suddenly be kicked out of a map just because someone else turned up?
If you are doing organized attempts you should be at the map quite some time before the event starts anyway, and if not you can always use the "Join in " command with a party.
It’s hard to believe with all that testing this wasn’t recognized…
Testing can never find all issues and some issues might not even turn up on the testing-servers at all.
Counter-suggestion: Learn that simply adding more servers and/or upgrading servers usually don’t do much.
Having now played with the bloodlust available for quite some time I really can’t see the issues here.
Maybe my match-up is even enough so that it won’t be too unbalanced (which is unlikely if looking at the scores and coverage of one of the servers) but as of this time no server seems to have gotten an unfair advantage due to the buff, nor have a single server ever managed to hold all three buffs for more than a few minutes (if ever).
Why do NPCs get the buff too? That seems like adding insult to injury.
As a solo player, hitting a supply camp with no upgrades was a 9 out of 10 times success rate. I tried 2 last night when they had the +150 and got my butt handed to me.
Anyone else have a similar experience?
Well, now instead of just taking camps you also have the ability to take the ruins (they are quite easy to take on your own) which is quite good since taking camp after camp after camp does feel quite repetitive after a few hours.
If you have issue with buffed camps simply take the buff on the map in order to buff yourself and unbuff (a bit at least) the camp.
Good luck avoiding risens… They teleport to you and drop pbaoe under your feet.
And they get aggroed from a great distance.
If you don’t have a dodge/endurance build, you will enter combat somehow.
They can’t kill fully geared characters, yet constant combat slowdown is annoying while travelling. I only enjoy travelling when I’m playing with my thief, nearly perma-stealth ftw.
It is fully possible to avoid risen as well. One simply have to run around instead of just running straight through.
I LOVED roaming around in groups of 4-5 friends and killing groups of 10+ enemies before. But that wont happen again if the others have the buffs…
So why don’t your 4-5 friends group take the buff away from the enemy?
Angel was brought into the fold in 2007. Nightfall was basically wrapped up, and the plans for GW2 were already being discussed. Eye of the North was the transitional bridge between the two games and shouldn’t really be considered GW1 proper.
So, technically you’re right. Realistically though, not so much.
And yet I have seen quite a few people talking about how awesome Guild Wars: Beyond was, and it is quite likely that she was doing parts of that.
I haven’t played since the introduction of ascended.
It really feels like Anet is PURPOSELY screwing wvw up. I mean cmon how many threads had been brought up about how ascended first and the bl buff later would kill GvG and WvW altogether?
Countless. And they did it anyway. They knew exactly what would have happened. This game has been a joke for months. But now this was the last straw
So you haven’t played since November and yet you are still hanging around posting more or less daily on the forums?
It is actually quite cute that people start shouting about this AFTER the patch, when we have known this would be added for more or less a MONTH.
Wouldn’t it be more logical to leave BEFORE the patch in order to send the message that you don’t like the planned patch, rather then leaving after said patch is already in the game?
^ I suggest you read the forum rules before posting, since they quite clearly states that shout-outs to specific employees are not allowed.
As for the last part you do know that Angel WAS with the GW1 lore-team as well, right?
No they didn’t.
ArenaNet used godmode to show off the different phases.
I don’t mind having hard content, but I think it’s bad design to let a group of players take part in a battle that they have no chance of beating. If you’re in an overflow, forget it. If you have less than 80 players, forget it. Yet the game doesn’t inform the players that they don’t have any chance. Anet seems happy to let dozens of players wave their weapons at Tequatl for 15 minutes, only to have him fly off. That is not okay in my book.
If there aren’t enough players, either don’t spawn Tequatl at all, or scale his health down based on the number of players that are there.
So basically removing the ability to actually manage it with less people than intended?
You basically want to remove everything from the game if you can’t complete it at that time?
Should we also kick groups from dungeons if they don’t have the optimal set-up?
Or if they die at the first enemy group?
Is that a reasonable requirement for all servers? Is that an amount of players that most servers would be able to gather for this event?
Yes it is.
This is more or less the only thing in the game that is actually hard. Let it be hard and accept that not all content will be built to be doable by everyone at all time.
No idea, but I would assume it would be about 80+ (which is what the event is built to require)
^ And yet as far as I know there is still only one “main server” that have complete it. So clearly the main issue is not overflows..
+1. I’ve been saying this since the first fail. I love the mechanics. But the time is nigh impossible.
And yet at least one server have completed it (several times even).
Indeed, the Pacts offensive COULD work for both people not completing the personal story (as in the actual attack on Zhaitan) and people that have completed it (as in a "peace-keeping mission).
The mail is exactly the same if you have completed the personal story.
Yeah, sadly people can’t really accept that some thing are hard and decide to give up because they can’t do it less than a day after release…..
So unique Ascended weapons, Wings and a mini is not enough?
What do people need in order to find it “worth the rewards”? A guaranteed Legendary of their choice?
^ Well, when a guild “disbands and drop out” several times it is a rather bad example, since they clearly didn’t drop out the first time, and most likely won’t this time either.
Ah good.
Less queues and less clueless people. I am all for it ^^
Have fun
Indeed, thought about Twilight Arbor as soon as I saw it.
Going to be interesting.
Imo yes I’d rather have it that way. Less people means more time for bugs to be found…meaning it still might take several weeks anyway to get a full release. Since they decided to slowly release it to everyone.
It is highly unlikely that this is a bug-beta test but rather a stability one.
If they put it on with millions of people using it at the same time and it crashes they won’t really be able to test much at all.
Releasing it slowly would make it possible to adjust the servers and system in order to accommodate the whole player base gradually, rather than just having everyone crash it at once.
Are you serious? Well, there goes my hope for a good patch today. Stuck using gw2lfg that doesn’t work half the time. Next thing you know you’ll be forced to buy it if you want access to it….
So you would rather have something pushed live with everyone having access, thus risking crashing it completely and making it unusable for several weeks?
Also this isn’t really news, we got this information on these very forums last week.
And this is a good example about how todays gamers are lazy.
They want/“need” everything pushed into their faces in order to see it.
If you go out in the real world, would you know everything about the place you visited without “working” to find out about it?
Simply avoid being hit and you will not have this issue.
The slow-down only applies if you are actually hit after all.
Most likely depends on how it goes.
I would assume it will give access to a large group at first, and slowly increase the number of players having access to it over the week.
Why are they adding the buff you ask? I’ll tell you… to screw up the WvW even more, empower zergs and force us (20-25 man raiding guilds) to play siege wars like some servers already do, also strike another blow to GvG community because, to be honest, +50 on all stats is a big deal in GvG considering that we even avoid stack building weapons and try to be as equal in power as possible and put emphasis on team skill and strategy. This is just another step toward sPvP (which is not remotely popular as WvW but for some reason Anet keeps pushing it) grave devs are digging for themselves.
So I will gladly join the people here and say NO! to the buff.
And yet with your 20-25 man raiding guild you should quite easily be able to take or remove the buff from the enemy server. Which is actually a good thing and gives more objectives to smaller organised groups.
Not paying 100 gold to zerg herd. I know kitten well I do not have the patience for that; but I also can recognize bad orders/tactics when I see it.
And maybe you should not ask for the ability to destroy it for other commander then, since you clearly don’t even bother doing it yourself?
A better solution would be to simply tag up yourself and make people follow you.
They have paid as much as you for their tag, they have the same right as you to use it when and how they want.
I am quite sure they never “promised it will be all about the kitten dragons”.
If every single thing in the game would be about the dragon it would be an extremely dull and boring game, with a completely dead game-world.
Yep, people seems to think that they are helping out the situation by posting stuff like that on these forums, while in reality it is most likely completely the opposite. Keeping this up might end up with Josh getting even more “controlled”, or worse.
No. They have literally been bragging about how they’re finally adding in the LFG tool since they announced it. To slyly announce LAST MINUTE that “oh, by the way, we’re not actually releasing it” is ridiculous.
Also, if they want testing, they should have TEST SERVERS. As has been suggested since forever.
So, lets see a possible situation here:
LFG getting ready to launch.
They find something that might create issues with too many people using the system at once.
They decide to have a limited release in order to find the limits and/or adjust the system accordingly based on certain threshold of people.
They increase the amount of people having access to said system slowly in order to stop a total system-crash.
Please tell me how that is a bad thing?
Also they HAVE test servers, how else do you think that people can leak patch-notes and such? Another thing to keep in mind is the fact that a test server is NEVER identical to a live server, thus some issues won’t be testable anyway (such as server loads and the like, due to the fact that the live servers have way more traffic and user interaction than a test-server ever will.
But I suppose you would rather they release it fully on Tuesday and the whole system crashes and no one will be able to use it for weeks?
They release stuff “without testing it”: people complain.
They test it and people complain.
I would rather have these test than getting into a situation where my character is locked into something due to a bug.
I agree that it might have been better to leave the LFG out of the preview page though.
That’s most likely because GvG guilds are the hardcore WvW guilds
Yeah, you keep telling yourself that.
^ No he has not been removed.
The vast majority of people does not post on the forums.
And even if it were far from everyone is actually against it.
Oh, we’re holding an event now to stop hate against GvGers?
These mods are amazing!
No, we are however discussing an in-game event created by players. Thus this is a rather logical forum for it.
Banned for posting a link to a video of someones opinion? Could someone point me towards the forum T&C’s, I think I obviously missed that part…
Posting links to something that breaks contracts and such is quite clearly not allowed. Just as it is not allowed to post instructions on doing exploits or hacking.
Oh I think most people will agree that it should be available to the public.
The contracts signed does not however. And if you actually sign a contract you sure as kitten should respect that. If not you shouldn’t sign it in the first place.
There is a reason the information is not available to the public.
