Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
And yeah, Blizzard gave numbers. So did Frogster, and they had a very small amount of numbers, yet they gave the numbers nonetheless. 2.5 million? Hahaha! Right. When I walk around an entire server and don’t see a single person, there’s probably 5 people per server. And yeah, those “2.5 million active accounts” are probably just doing the dailies and then going back to WoW.
Actually no.
The only thing Blizzard have ever released is: “We have so and so many subscribers”. And that doesn’t really say anything at all. Especially not with promotions such as “Buy 1 year sub of WoW and get Diablo 3 for free” since it is quite possible to several of the people buying that sub didn’t actually play the whole year.
Sub numbers != active users.
Maybe because it actually have nothing to do with WvW? ^^
But Anet refuses to give us the numbers repeatedly. Why is that? Think hard. Why would they refuse to give us the number of players playing atm? Are they embarrassed? That’s what my theory is. The number of people on my server took a fall off a cliff a few weeks ago and the only people I see play on patch days for 5 minutes and then the log off.
Actually I don’t think ANY MMO gives actual numbers of players. So I suppose every single MMO every released is embarrassed then?
And funnily enough they HAVE given numbers. Just a few weeks back they stated a number of 2,5 million active accounts each week.
Pointless, since legendary gear isn’t a stat upgrade (it’s the same as exotic – and in the future, ascended) but purely cosmetic, and jewelry is invisible.
Why assume it is not possible to add effects to jewelry?
I don’t think you know what a Retcon is.
I am fully aware what a retcon is.
I am simply stating that using your logic was silly.
None of the Charr we actually saw suddently turned around and became good, and yet you claim that it was retconned instead of accepting the fact that we saw a very small part of the Charr and it was very possible that there were good charr even before EoTN.
Every single living world release that have been in higher leveled areas have upscaled characters to lvl 80.
I really don’t see the point of legendary trinkets. They don’t have any visible graphics. Plus, legendaries have the same stats as the highest tier, which is ascended and we already have ascended trinkets.
It is quite likely that it would add effects though.
Why not level it while doing the Living Story?
In all seriousness, if the blog post made less than a month ago was sincere and legendary armor is off the table, then that only leaves back pieces in terms of “new types of legendary gear in 2013”.
Hm?
What about jewelry?
They were the retcon.
So, just because some of the vikings ran around and raided villages, killed and kitten d people it would be a retcon to state that not all Scandinavians raid, kill and kitten ?
We saw everything from the Ascalonian (Human) side in Prophecies, of course we would see the Charr as mindless beasts with no good in them.
Just don’t wanna be obligated to play Fractals to get the better armor sets. The devs must look for the WvW players too, it’s sad how we have to play PvE to get things…
It is highly likely that the fact that we are getting lvl 500 crafting this year is tied into Ascended Armor and Weapons.
Indeed, a very nice feat, especially in this age with all those MMOs out there.
Those armors have been in the game since release.
There are more Legendary Items coming, but we don’t know which slot they will take (most likely jewelry, but time will tell)
You have to keep in mind however that not everyone have completed or even started (oh well, almost at least since you are forced to start it) the personal story. Building the Living Story around that would be quite hard in that case.
Sure they could have a few different lines based on if you are in an order or in the pact or whatever (which they already do btw) but building it all around it would most likely take way too much time and resources, due to the fact that there are way too many variables.
The Orders are working as the Pact now, and they HAVE been part of the Living Story, even if it was not “in your face”-ish. The ones tracking down the Molten Alliance for one were the Pact forces and such.
As for knowing the identity of Scarlet and stuff like that we have to wait and see who is behind it before wondering why the Order of Whispers didn’t know who they were (for all we know it could be a former agent which would therefore knew how to avoid them and such).
Maybe it would go faster if you lot werent spending all your time creating new S/TPvP and loads of new (and boring!) content for PvE?
Not the same people working on those things though.
I’m really astonished people actually believe this
the center of gw1 was pvp, especially gvg. the weak claim that guild wars was about some event in lore and not the core pvp feature is pretty much bunk.
Ah yes of course. Silly me, the creators of the game clearly have no clue about what the name is from….
The whole original game (Prophecies) is based more or less on the aftermath of the latest of the Guild Wars.
And when will people understand that Guild Wars is a lore-based name rather than gameplay-based?
Highly unlikely, due to the fact that everyone gets the same one.
Maybe the corrective measure is something that was planned to be implemented into the living story? So that it was more or less: “Part 1: Get loads of gold into the system. Part 2: Remove massive amount of gold from the system” and thus balancing it out. I could think of quite a few way that could be implemented to the living story, based on how the next part plays out.
Null Field works quite well for condition removal.
The thing about AT is the fact that you also takes boons from the target, which could become quite OP with a lower CD.
Simply because “forcing” people into certain areas of the game is never a good idea.
My point being, the Mursaat directly threatened all of human kind. That includes Lion’s Arch, Divinity’s Reach, Ebonhawk, and basically any human settlement such as Beetleton, Ascalon settlement, Nebo Terrace, Travelers Dale etc. Their beef is with humanity, not just with Kryta’s royalty. And they’re not exactly the only ones threatening human kind. Threatening humans is not a unique trait that instantly links them to anyone else threatening humans.
And yet all of those (other than Lion’s Arch and that is not really a human kingdom) is govern by Kryta and the Queen. So there really only is ONE human kingdom in all of Tyria (continent) at this time. Killing/hurting the Queen and destroying DR would most likely mean the end of humankind on the continent.
I don’t understand why a sylvari would go to all this trouble. A charr, asura, or human I could understand, but not a sylvari. It doesn’t seem to jive with lore. Why isn’t she part of the nightmare court, and if she is part of the nightmare court, why would she care about Jenna and Divinity’s reach. Why would any sylvari care about Jenna and Divinity’s Reach?
Not all Sylvari are from the Pale Tree.
Not specifically Kryta though, nor directly the Queen. Just humanity as a whole.
And how many other human kingdoms do you see in Tyria today?
OP means that some of the most meaningful, difficult content in the game is solo. I agree, the complexity of the bosses are similar to raids in other mmos, but without that gratifying feeling of accomplishing it with a team its just not as epic.
Plus the true depth of GW2 combat is its group synergies, not in solo builds.
Funnily enough we had the very same post but the other way around back when Molten Alliance and Aeatherblade Part one had a 5-man dungeon close to the end.
This is a great idea. I’m not sure if GW’s writers are this smart, but it would make for a solid plan. Have everyone’s eyes focused on Divinity’s Reach, and then strike Lion’s Arch, freeing Mai Trin and killing the captain’s council.
And yet the Lionguard is still fully active in Lion’s Arch. It is also extremely unlikely that they have decided to slack on the security so soon after the attack, especially when the same group is still active and have made concrete threats.
There are more than enough ways to avoid being knocked down already, not really a good idea to make knockdown-based builds useless in my eyes.
then why are people allowed to keep the high stakes achievement?
I don’t mind getting it a legit way, even if the arena is incredibly badly designed and gimmicky as long as everybody has to get it the legit way.
Just another example of Anet rewarding those who rush through content and punishing those who like to take their time. Shame.
And how do you suggest they find out who got the achievement the legit way vs those who got it via an supposed exploit?
Simply removing it from anyone that completed it before the update?
Personally I would say killing her would be too “simple” so I actually think that they will do something more sinister than that.
I find the “It’s almost time for time to stop” line to be quite interesting.
Would that point towards Aeatherblades actually being tied into time-travelling or time-magic in some way or form?
And yet people have been complaining about RNG outside of the gemstore as well.
This statement should be amended to say ‘ever’. Please?
Let the past November’s event be a firm reminder to you that OTE’s don’t work.
And yet if they say ever and in a year or so have managed to optimize the game well enough so a one-time even would actually work they would be unable to do such an event.
Better to simply say it like this rather than locking that door completely.
They are not spoiling everything in a preview a week before the patch.
You can.
Simply drag empty bags into your other bags and you can put a new one in its slot.
This is quite easily solved with the already implemented AoE Loot.
Simply enable it and tie it to a key (I use Shift+F) and use that now and then during the fighting.
I would say it is more a visual error than an actual bug. And it is not really much of an issue since the actual store item state that it can’t remove upgrades.
Had it been the other way around on the other hand it would most likely be rather high priority.
It was never supposed to salvage upgrades, at least not according to the gem-store page. So it would rather be a bug-fix than a nerf. And as far as I remember I didn’t get any upgrades even before the patch.
How do you know this for sure?
I don’t of course, but it is extremely unlikely that only people that have played since release would get birthday gifts for their characters.
People will get their birthday gifts when their character turns 1 year.
A Priest would however have some ties to religion/gods and that would make it quite limited, since several of the races don’t have gods.
it almost feels like a scam to me, all the gathering types work as the top teir, and dont cost a thing for uses. now they sell me a junk unlimit piece of crap. so u go from top tier for 800 gems to lowest teir for 800 gems and then they charge you yo use it… give me back 400 gems and take this thing from my bank as thats will it will sit for the rest of my time in gw
I would suggest you read up what a scam actually is.
A scam would be selling something and then delivering something else.
In this case it is very clear that it is the same as Basic Salvage kit, thus not a scam.
Perfect balance & no exploits are an impossible pipe dream. The fact that the live WvW maps have had exploits is an undeniable fact.
Quite true, which is yet another reason why they should not rush out new maps.
Based on this thread maybe it simply would have been best to not have presents at all.
By “No one time event” does that just mean no Karka type event that takes over an entire map, or does it mean no massive plot point at all? Heh… I mean, I had it in my head we’d get the Battle of Divinity’s Reach or some other huge thing that would change Tyria forever.
No one time event means there is no event that must be done at an exact time, but rather something you can do during the course of the living story part in question.
There can be massive plot points without forcing people to be online at a very specific time.
Yeah, nice spoiler.
There is a reason why data-miners usually don’t post the story on reddit or such, simply because some people can’t respect the fact that it should not be spread.
how difficult it is to give precise numbers… >_>
Probably quite difficult because they can still be tweaking them.
^ And yet that could also happen if there were a set of lets say 10 different minis. Now at least people KNOW that they will get the same in all of them.
Yep. I assume I would. And since I’d be getting 12 of the things you better believe I’m going to. But you’re missing the point again. And it’s just so typical of forum-goers to know it all and just make idiotic suggestions like “Oh if you don’t like it just delete it”. THAT. IS. NOT. THE. POINT!
So, what is the point then? The fact that you suddenly want RNG?
Oh look that argument again. Yeah because everyone is going to want 5+ minis of a person who only became relevant in the last few weeks. You’re right, my mistake.
Queen Jennah have been “relevant” since before release of the game.
And no, not everyone want it. But not everyone want to get completely useless ones while their friend get a extremely valuable one either.
If you dislike it so much I would assume it is fully possible to delete it.
