Is it actually confirmed that all skins have been found yet?

We still want to have some content that can happen each year, our holiday festivals, Super Adventure Box, Zephyr Sanctum, and the new Queens Gauntlet are all intended to be content that will regularly return. The goal of having these in our portfolio of event content that can occur again each year is they allow us the opportunity to easily build on something we’ve already completed as themes for some of our releases for year 2.

People need to understand that developing stuff for WvW is most likely takes much more time and work than PvE stuff.

The Gauntlet is not a one-time thing though. It will come back again even after this event is over.

It doesn’t really have anything at all to do with laziness, since it is quite clearly a choice rather than a bug/limitation.

Putting it in an instance would most likely not take many moments, so the lazy argument don’t really work.

Personally I usually don’t have any issues even with the zerg right under me, since they are far enough away to don’t actively effect me. It might require some tinkering with the settings though.

Someone that follows SC2 e-sport is most likely more interested in RTS than MMO for one. Just as someone who follows CS would be more interested in FPS.

I am personally on Underworld and have been since release and I would say it is quite busy most of the time.
It is also a fact that ArenaNet themselves have stated that the population in WvW is increasing.

You are confusing scraps with tickets.
Before the weapons went out of season they cost 1 ticket, now they cost 5 tickets.

People are clearly buying the RNG boxes for a chance to get skins (and they did even before this system that sooner or later guarantees a skin) so clearly it is a good business strategy.

In GW1 you had to actually “swipe your credit card” every single time you wanted to buy something in the store, whilst in GW2 you technically never needs to, since you can buy the gems with in-game gold.

I also fail to see how you are “asked to swipe your card” every 10 seconds. I have yet to come across a single situation where I have been asked to pay money without personally actually entering the store in the first place. And I have played more or less daily since head-start.

Based on personal experience and ArenaNets own words that is quite clearly not the case, since the population in WvW has actually increased since January.

They should create a new mode, a real GvG mode (not that boring kitten on WvW maps).

Rather weird to compare different type of game when talking about e-sports though. The only game on your list that can actually be somewhat compared is WoW, since that is the only other MMO on there. And WoW is quite small (if not non-existent) on the e-sport market.

The Guild Wars is ancient history. There are more pressing issues in the world now, especially since 2 out of the 3 kingdoms involved in said war no longer exists.

People are doing Champion runs all around the maps at the moment, so I would say it is quite alive.

Another thing to keep in mind is that much of it can also be seen as experiments to see how it works and how people react to it, which would make future releases better due to more experience and knowledge of certain areas.

They will not come naturally by simply playing the game, exception aside. Go and crunch the numbers yourself – or check out the post that has already crunched the numbers for you in 5/10/15 year figures. The vast majority of players are going to fall into the 15+ year estimates. A small amount are going to fall into the 10 year estimate, and if you fall in the 5 year estimate you’ll likely be dead in a year or two from muscle atrophy, malnutrition, and sleep deprivation from physically being attached to a computer that much.

Besides, GW2 servers simply won’t be around to play on so many years in the future.

Don’t take this as a personal attack but one would have to be completely deluded or ignorant of the numbers involved to say they are achievable from simply playing the game mode as usual.

If you actually are playing WvW you will be escorting dollies, you will be killing dollies, you will be taking and defending camps/towers/keeps/stonemists, you will kill players, you will siege and you will repair. And there we suddenly have all the achievements being worked on.

Lets not assume that the servers will shut down x years in the future, since we have no actual information about this (GW1 is a good example about how ArenaNet works with “dead” games. they simply makes stuff automatic and keeps the servers up, the same could be done for GW2).

Also, I bought the game, but I regret it. So those statistics don’t prove anything. How many active players do they have?.. that’s the question.

It sold over 3 million copies within half a year. That is more than most MMOs sells in their lifetime.

They also seem to have an activity rate of 2.5 Million active users per week which would suggest it is indeed quite successful.

True that it is specifically for WvW, but there have also been talks about increased population overall, I’ll see if I can find it.

Based on what ArenaNet themselves have said there have actually been an INCREASE in population the first 6 months of this year.

GW2 is currently one of the most (if not the most) successful MMO on the market, claiming it is not as successful as their competitors by a long shot is therefore simply false.

Yes, they want money, but they would most likely lose way more money (from current and future customers) if they decided to go against everything they have said about the game.

Because that is exactly what these achievements are about. Playing WvW. By playing WvW you will, sooner or later, finish these achievements.

It’s absolutely not beatable by every class.

Try learning/beating the bosses while at the same time playing a Norn who, apparently due to some genius idea of making a solo fight in the open, while at the same time in a claustrophobic space which’ll make the camera useless.

If you have dps gear, and the right builds then yes you can. Those of us who’ve played support and tank (low dps) roles for months are out of the loop, because guess what?

No matter how well you learn the fight, you only have 2 mins. Maybe if someone had tested the gauntlet with a variety of race/class combinations, it wouldn’t be this broken.

And yet it have already been beaten by all classes, so clearly it is beatable by every class.

They have updated WvW quite a bit since release. You even admitted it yourself

If the game play dictates the build I should be running, then that is the very definition of a stupid design, expected coming from a game feature that was rushed to completion with low quality.

If people don’t feel like changing builds there is nothing forcing them. If they however want to get the achievements they simply have to accept the fact that they need to actually adjust to the challenge at hand.

There is however a rather big difference between some classes having it easier and it being impossible to do on some classes.

The first would always be true unless every single class was identical. The second is not true in any way or form.

The Gauntlet have been out for little over a day.
It will be here for a MONTH.
Just because you haven’t managed to do it yet doesn’t mean it is impossible.

It’s really dangerous to walk around with all our money, especially if an accidental misclicking could have you unintentionally spend most/all of it, which is not cool. Everything else about the wallet is awesome.

No matter how much you test something there will always be stuff that slips through (or don’t even happen on the test-servers for that matter).

^ And you are making a fatal mistake with that post.
You are assuming that they created the patch released a few days after the blog post after said blog post was posted.

Each living story have about 4 months behind it, which would mean it is extremely unlikely that events that are released just a week or two after said plans were discussed would be built around said plans.
