Do first boss in any dungeon.
Get Bag of Wondrous Goods
Get your tokens.
Repeat.See it works for dungeons aswell?
I smell Arah all over this post since it is a kitten to complete for most groups.
But why do that when you can run Arah P3 in under an hour with a good group and get 60 tokens + ones from the bags?
The 4th boss chest of FOTM 10 did not give me any ring.
The brown box which popped up in the bottom right corner gave me 35 fractals and some money bags.
Where does the pink rings actually drop??
So, two of five members in my group got their rings after FoTM 10.
My guildies say that we only get one chance daily to get the ring (if we do FoTM 10, 20, etc).
My concerns are:
1. Why is the giveaway random? Why can’t they just let us exchange fractals for the ring we want after we have completed FoTM 10?
2. Where is it written that rings may drop once per day on FoTM 10, 20 etc?
3. Is it recommended to do FoTM 11+ without any agony resistance for the unlucky ones didn’t get the rings?
Tried to do the following dungeons:
1. AC Path 1 – Hog won’t open door to find the 5 scepter pieces (buggy before, buggy now, maybe will stay buggy forever, but it’s very very random). No enemies skipped, so keep that stupid excuse to yourself. Kohler died too.
2. TA Path UP – Beat final boss, Morrigu won’t give rewards (token, exp, etc). This was a new one for me.
3. COE Path 1 – Bjarl won’t get knocked down….new bug introduced handsomely in the last patch.
4. Arah – Can’t even enter dungeon because majority of the Orr DEs are broken after last patch.
5. FoTM Charr map – random crash for the whole team.
Please release more patches to break the game further.
Thank you

Are there a lot of items in your pick up tab?
No, just sale from 2 items.
Update:
Nothing changed so far. To check for yourself, type “…” (three dots) in the TP search. It lists 5 items, and one of which is the Arachnophobia (which is selling for 26g+)
Buyers will have not clue how to search Arachnophobia due to this TP bug. ANET, please fix it.
According to the TP, I sold my Ghastly Grinning Shield Skin for 25g that was listed yesterday. It has been showing in the “Item’s I’ve Sold” list for the past 9 hours but I have still not received the money.
Is this a new bug, or the TP being ridiculously slow? What can I do?
Buyers cannot search for Arachnophobia (bow skin from Halloween) on the TP.
However, sellers can still sell it. When wanting to sell, it shows up as “…” on the TP.
This needs to be fixed.
Thanks
Just finished COF Path 1 with a pug where the leader kicked the party immediately when the dungeon rewards showed up on screen. The other people did not get their rewards. Why is a feature like this in place where the leader can disband the whole group?
The leader did it on purpose because he called us names during the run as well. How can we report this so he gets a ban to teach him a lesson?
I have blocked him but will it stop him from teaming up in future runs? I don’t want to team with dungeon griefers.

I bought a bunch of BL keys and got a large number of Black Lion logging Axes, Mining Pick etc.
The problem is they don’t stack! Each one has 25 uses (the harvesting sickle has 10 uses).
Can ANET please allow to stack each to 100 (and the sickle to 50) please? Taking up valuable inventory space.
I can’t figure out what jewel to put into the Mad memoirs complete edition backpack. I have tried brilliant jewel, embellished and exquisite. None are working.
What should I do? This is the only good backpack I have at the moment because my storyline is bugged at level 76 and I can’t have the one from the story.
I agree – exclude minis from going to storage.
I agree that karma should be account bound. My example:
I do dungeons on toon # 1 (which brings tokens in for my other toons)
I have another toon stationed permanently in cursed shore (because I absolutely hate WP costs, but that’s another issue)
—> Need a way to combine karma so that I can buy prerequisites for legendary without burning my eyes out playing a single toon
I don’t think karma should be used to buy dungeon armors – there’s tokens for that.
I feel really sad when I compare the GW1 heroes/villains with GW2 ones. The GW2 ones are just not memorable enough. >.<
I have played the same storyline in GW1 multiple times on multiple characters. Nightfall and EOTN were extremely memorable to me. I really enjoyed playing with the following heroes,
1. Koss – who would make you smile with his dance moves on his rescue
2. Margrid – who respected money more than anything else
3. Norgu – whose illusions of grandeur were quite mesmerizing
4. Olias – arguably the best executed necromancer hero * and players would do anything to get him first *
5. Zhed – whose dialogues with “two-legged” creatures were quite interesting
6. Vekk – loved this guy’s teeth, and arguments with his dad “Gadd”
7. Mhenlo – the charming guy everyone wanted to be
8. Jora – whose race and elite hero armor were quite breathtaking dr00ls
9. Gwen – the loveliest hero of all, whose legacy (and Jora’s) continues in GW2
and so many more heroes I did not mention!
And GW1 had some memorable villains,
1. Shiro – who kicked a lot of kitten until people started using clever builds and OP PvE skills to bring him down quickly
2. Abaddon – a god who tortured us dearly in the realm of torment but went down fairly easily
3. Mallyx – a boss 99.9% of the groups could not beat without using the door exploit (in the first few months when DoA was released).
4. Vizier Khilbron – a guy who looked more wicked than anyone else
I find Trahearne of GW2 similar to Kormir from Nighfall. Both.are.useless.
Can I please have a “Tyrian Explorer License” for 1g per month that gives one of my characters unlimited travel for one month? Or, as a reward to those with 100% map completion…who are not in favor of creating legendary weapons?

Images after reaching level 80. I kept her looks simple (via transmutation) because that’s how I like it. I play melee-based (sword + focus) in PvE, and use the GS (from AC) for WvW and sometimes in dungeons when enemies KD too much.

Karma should be account-bound.
Why is it otherwise?
Any news if ANET will change it in the near future?
Other related stuff: Skill-points could be transferred in GW1 from one toon to the other. Any chance this could return to GW2?
I don’t look at your level – I rather look at your achievement points (AP) (i.e. experience).
I rather have a person on a lvl 35 alt and > 1000 AP than someone with level 80 and 500 AP. Maybe one or two newbies (who listen) per run is fine, but a load of them (three or more) is sure disaster.
I don’t play plate classes, and I often find other parties not wanting to take my cloth classes for the TA dungeon.
Elitism is on the rise. Live with it, or die trying.
Guys…I don’t think you got the message of my first post.
The 40s is not being charged for learning a third or subsequent craft.
It is being charged for coming back to the same craft which you have already maxed (level 400).
TA can be a real pain the butt because ANET did add too many way-points in this dungeon. I think there are only 2 way-points in this dungeon – one at start, and the other at 75% of the way. So, if you get a team wipe, it’s a major pain.
And those volatile blossoms….oh those volatile blossoms…
There is very little room for error…and almost all newcomers succumb to this dungeon which will also wipe the team. Overall, having a minimal number of way-points kills the fun and is, IMO, bad design. It increases hostility between the teammates after each wipe more so because now they have to run past the same mobs that were skipped and kill the same darn blossoms. And it’s not just TA that’s at fault, many other dungeons have the same issue. (lack of way-points).

IMHO, It’s not really a gold sink so much as it’s a mechanic to deter players from leveling their toons to 80 predominately through crafting and little to no adventuring.
— But what about players who are already level 80 in character and level 400 in crafting?
— This does not stop people from reaching level 80 via crafting alone, because it does not punish them for switching to new crafts. So people will still do it if that’s their goal.
— Once the “Master Crafter” title is achieved, I don’t know why anyone would be interested in using crafting to level up a brand new toon because crafting is a chore. Grinding dungeons and Blessed Shore (cursed shore..) are the best places to level.
— All it does is punish a max crafter for trying to use previously learned crafts.
Your solution is not a sustainable one. Yes, cooking is cheaper in the TP, but for many other professions like Jewelry, it is economical to craft it yourself.
I agree the game needs some gold sinks, but to punish max crafters to pursue other crafting disciplines is going a little too far.
I would love to hear ANET’s stance on the reasoning behind it.
Long story short,
- I maxed Jewelery and Cooking
- Then ditched Cooking to learn Tailor
- Wanted to craft some nourishments for alts and noticed that I have to pay 40 silver (WTF?) so I can craft cooking stuff again.
Why is this such a massive gold-sink for people who already maxed certain crafts?
Does the 6th effect of the superior rune of Lyssa give you all the different boons in GW2? Because if it does, then it’s darn over-powered.
Here’s my lvl 60 Mesmer – will change armor once she dings 80. This is also my current background
I ran most dungeons on my main character (ele) after hitting level 80. I did the higher level dungeons first, and the lower level dungeons last.
Once I knew the mechanics of each dungeon, I revisited them on my secondary character (mesmer) at the legally allowed level (o.O). So, my mesmer started AC EM at 35 and so on. I found this to be a great way to level this character up in addition to crafting and such. By thetime she’s 80, I will have enough tokens to get all exotics on this character (those crafted + those from dungeon tokens). hehehe….
That said, I think knowledge > power. Since I know what the dungeons entail, I tune my mesmer’s traits and skills to best overcome the challenges and this makes the game fun. My group LOVED ME when I showed them Time Warp elite skill (when I was just level 35). Get the most important elite skill and utility skills for your profession, and any lower level should be just as useful as a level 80. Grind those skill challenges if you are lower level!

I think these bugs came up after the October 15th update.
AC is really bugged right now.
I tried Paths 1 and 2 today on my level 54 mesmer. We kill Kholer both times.
Path 2 = got Detha to the Hall of Champions but she wouldn’t start the cannons. We tried everything:
- Dieing and trying to reset
- Letting Detha die to reset
- Way-pointing back and forth
Nothing works – the dungeon is bugged. We also noticed that when the guy who started the dungeon left, the dungeon was NOT reset. We could still enter and see our progress to Hall of Champions.
Then tried path 1. Hodgins wouldn’t start the cut-scene after Ooze fight….
What changed between a few days ago when I last tried it, and today?
I will post screenshots if required.
I don’t really mind the challenge in some of the boss encounters in the dungeons.
My only gripe is that in many dungeons, the WP to the final boss is just way tooooo FAR…and this needs to change. We need WP closer to the final boss, or increase the time it takes for boss tor reset.
In GW1 Eye of the North, for example, we had a resurrection shrine in most boss rooms. Don’t you recall?
As elementalist, I did most of the alarm disarms because eles got some nice long duration block abilities – so use them! That said, you should only disarm after beating the big golems. Then, most of the group should rush tothe console – the squishy classes can disarm while the melee classes can blow up any small golems that come close. After completion of one disarm, fall back and repeat.
Hope that helps.
Only Path 1 is pug-friendly.
The rest of the paths requires coordinated groups. Path 2 in particular has a very far away WP which SUCKS. ANET needs to bring WP closer to tougher bosses, and this applies for every dungeon.
I recently dyed my ele armor black – I think it looks more gorgeous now, similar to my GW1 ele.
Tell me about it.

GW1 = skill-bar wars (can’t spam much because energy is an issue)
GW2 = spam-dodge wars (lack of skills, infinite energy pool)
Tera = best action combat (you didn’t see this coming?)

Zerg + Wv3 = staff ele
Thieves are only annoying when you DON’T detect them. Once detected, any class should be able to hold one off with utility skills. That said, some utility skills show always be spec-ed for survival such as blocking, teleporting/jumping out, etc.
That said, I think a good mesmer is much more troublesome than a good thief. Me (level 80 staff ele) and and 2 other allies (ranger, guardian) fought this one mesmer in Wv3 and it took us a good 2 minutes to take him down. He was the toughest mesmer I ever fought, and he used both short-range and long-range abilities to great use.
Right now, I am leveling a mesmer and at level 26, I can assure you that my mesmer causes more chaos in Wv3 than my ele, and I can easily challenge level 80s and troll all day with clones. It’s a real fun class to play in Wv3, indeed.
Here’s my level 80 norn ele with mix armor designs:

Dunno. but the ele ones are absolute trash
tornado – become slow moving, dealing less damage, losing access to 20 skills for 3 bad ones, and you are totally vulnerable while doing it.
fiery greatsword – summon a weapon, again losing 20 skills for 5, only 3 of which are useful, and still not worth using over all your others.
Glyph of elementals – summon an elemental. Either it dies before it hits anything, or it does kitten poor damage and takes about 4 hits before going down.
They’re not even situational. They’re just bad. Glyph is the only one i’d ever consider using in a serious setting just because it doesnt actually hamper me like the others do (no seriously, if the entire point of the ele is having access to 20 skills, why do 2 of my elites remove the only aspect of me that’s A. unique and B. the only part of me not vastly underpowered? )
Level 80 elementalist here. I agree with everything you have said.
I only found Tornado elite useful in very niche events only in Wv3,
1) helping the team rush in the Stonemist castle Guild lord room,
2) repelling foes quickly outside fort/keep. Turn tornado inside the keep, go through the door and cause some chaos outside, and finally come back inside the keep – know the timing or you WILL die. Let your server clean up the mess . It is also useful for getting into a keep being hammered by enemies.
Other than those two uses, I found Tornado rather useless elsewhere.
Long cool-downs are definitely a bummer for Ele.

Using all Power/Toughness/Vitality exotics now for survival in Wv3 and PvE dungeons.
May switch to Power/Precision/Critical after I have obtained some dungeon gear.
More choice = always good
Would love to use a second set (D/D) for offensive purposes.

Yup, flat 30/sec @ lv80. Does not scale with healing power.
LOL. Hope they fix it, thanks for the info.
I think GW2 is a successful product since it has given so many reasons to spend hundreds of hours,
(1) Dynamic events which are better than the old questing systems
(2) A beautiful MMO universe with day/night and environment changes
(3) WvWvW which is extremely fun but has a few issues still
(4) Gems/gold conversion to buy cash-shop items such as additional characters, etc
Now, let’s look at how ANET has messed up GW2 (from my point of view):
(1) Gold is harder to ‘farm’ unlike other MMOs. Combined with relatively high armor repair costs and teleportation costs, many players are left near broke at max level.
(2) Gems to gold conversion ratio is completely out of whack.
(3) Mystic forge is the biggest troll ever
(4) Armor sets of casters (i.e. light category) are poorly designed and look abysmal. Some starter sets (acolyte) look better than the dungeon sets and the god-set. Only the CoF set looks like something to get.
(5) Weapons look abysmal and extremely non-flashy compared to other games (e.g. Tera, etc). Starter weapons look fine, but the end-game weapons which require tokens MUST look phenomenal. At the moment they don’t. Legendary weapons also look average, yet will take the average players months to get (time is not the issue here, but the looks are)
(6) All dances except the human dance look abysmal. GW1 had much better dances. I wish they brought the old dances back….if they didn’t have much time to work on new ones
(7) Where is the dungeon finder which is now a standard in many MMO games? Even GW1 had a better system in place.
(8) Skills locked to weapon type is a step backward from GW1. Mixing skills is not possible anymore which was actually fun. The ‘build’ system in GW1 was free, but in GW2 if you want to play a certain ‘spec’ you have to pay to re-spec (which is BS even after you have brought a Grandmaster manual).
(9) Cash-shop items are over-priced, and many items are not ‘cool’ (such as armors). GW1 cash-shop items looked much better!
(10) BUGS everywehere – more every week.
(11) Where is my chibi-Gwen mini-pet? I really miss her.
I played over 8000 hours of GW1 – tells you how much I loved their product. I know GW2 is much bigger than GW1, and requires significant work – let’s hope ANET brings it to the form it promised us during marketing.
(edited by mage.3570)
How much is the health regeneration on a lvl 80? Have you checked?
My opinions on these are as follows,
(1) Players can only report at best – but the rest stands on ANET.
(2) By logging out, it is possible to prevent armor from being damaged and hence this saves some coin. Player’s wouldn’t have logged out if the repair costs were eliminated or toned down significantly. On the other hand, if ANET fixes it by making sure you still get armor damage even if you logged out just before death occurs, and the winner getting his loot – the incentive to log-out wouldn’t exist.

Thanks for the replies Jeffrey. I guess I will try it again later on.
I don’t see any stairs …..
I tried climbing it from all four sides but couldn’t…it’s simply too high. My character is a norn, and you can clearly see how high it is.
Please look at the screenshot below and tell me if I am doing this wrong…
Sir, I did follow all instructions, climbed the stairs and then went to the green circle on the top of the ark and even circled all around it for minutes – no cut-scene triggered. All NPCs were beside me too.
I was going to buy 6x of these – now I won’t.
