I don’t run 40-48 that often. Probably twice a week.
Like I said, I do mostly 28-38 because historically from doing over 500 fractals, the best drops seem to be in this range. I was lucky enough to get a precursor at level 38 in Maw once (sold for a nice 200g).
Still, I believe that with ascended gear coming soon, the game would be extremely unbalanced if one could simply level a character to 80 and then deck in all ascended gear from saved up materials. The character is simply unworthy of being called ‘ascended’. Therefore, fractal level-gating should be a mandatory requirement for wearing fractal based ascended armor (ignore trinkets) per character. This way, not all characters will be running around with it.
You realize ascended weapons and armours will be crafted and will have nothing to do with fotm? I have 2 characters at level 80 and I’m not really fond of leveling 3rd to 80 who has max AR anyway.
They might introduce ascended armor such that it could be obtained using different ways, like trinkets are right now.
I have leveled multiple characters through fractals and feel that it should NOT be account-wide.
Mes – Level 48 / 45 AR
Guard – Level 40 / 45 AR
Ele – Level 30 / 40 AR
Warrior – Level 24 / 40 AR
(+4 more characters)All my characters have the final ascended back-piece (one thats costs tons of relics + 500 ectos overall). I have invested quite a bit of time and money getting to this point.
Fractals SHOULD reward multiple dailies (at same bracket) for multiple characters worthy of it.
The system is already too lenient…people can still run the majority of any fractal on ANY profession and only switch for the final boss where the agony really matters. For instance, I have used my warrior exclusively for FAST runs and have switched to other classes for final fractal bosses and the maw fight.
How often were you doing multiple dailies in one day? 40-48 dailies especially.

The system is already too lenient…people can still run the majority of any fractal on ANY profession and only switch for the final boss where the agony really matters. Recently, I have used my warrior for fast runs and have switched to other classes (ele, necro which are less desired in teams) for the maw fight. This means I have given up good loot to progress my “less-desirable” characters. I mostly run fractals in the 28-38 range. Leveling a character through 1-28 means giving up better loot and relics.
The hope is that future ascended armor may be fractal level gated – only characters worthy of it should be able to use it. And as an altoholic, I like all my characters equally :P

I forgot to mention that I will also be using the “all-purpose” ascended trinkets.
I have some questions about the celestial weapons:
1. Are the new celestial weapons that can be crafted overall better stats-wise compared to other weapon types such as berserker, rabid, etc?
2. Has anyone crafted a celestial weapon – if so, does it have a different skin from those previously craftable?
3. I am considering to make an all purpose armor+weapon set for my ele using the celestial weapons and the celestial armor. Is this a good idea for PvE high-level fractals + dungeons?
I am in the process of transferring to one of the top 3 WvW servers. I play mostly WvW and PvE (high-end fractals and speed dungeon runs).
I would like to join a guild that does guild bounties, guild missions etc and occasionally shouts out for the dragon/world boss events.
Have 6 level 80s – War, Guard, Mes, Ele (main), Thief and Necro.
All level 80s are decked in fractal gears, 3 of which are fully decked out. All characters have multipe armors (with 1 berserker set), all exotic weapons, etc.
Guard and mes are at fractals 42, and 48 respectively. War and Ele are playing catch-up and now in the teens.
Already a dungeon-master and with 5500+ achievement points.
I could write a 50 page essay comparing the two games, but it won’t be a pleasant read…
Most likely a bug. That being said, buying 12 of them without trying em out first may have not been a bright idea.
12?? He must have a big family or lot of workers on his farm…
Spider boss is too easy!
The designers need to make this dungeon harder.
Need more challenge.
Update: Still at 0 keys purchased.
Got 2 keys doing story-mode but got nothing nice, still very proud of myself though.
Quickness nerfed from 100% to 50%.
They better reduce the cool-down time of Time-Warp from 210 seconds to 105 seconds to make up for it without breaking the game.
0 keys, 0 tickets, and am proud of myself.
Stop gambling on Black Lion Chests. Unfortunately, some people never learn from their own mistakes.
I find it perplexing why ANET did not give out rewards to long-standing WvW players.
Some may argue that ANET does not have the data to give out WxP for accomplishments before the 3/26 patch. However, this is NOT true because one can easily view all accountwide WvW accomplishments under the ‘World versus World’ tab in the accomplishments menu. The question then is, how could have ANET used this information to reward WvWers?
First, it would be silly to give away WxP rewards for the number of kills alone because these kills could have gotten in illegitimate ways.
However, the number of Keeps captured, Keeps defended, Dolyaks escorted, Castles sieged, etc. are all time-consuming activities for which I feel rewards should be given. Why should anyone coming back to WvW start at rank 0 if he/she has helped defend the Castle 25+ times, helped captured 250+ Keeps and so on? Why put him in the same bracket as someone who has ZERO WvW experience?
Now, some of you will come and say that people play WvW for fun. That’s true – but since there is a reward component associated with it now, ANET should make some plans to reward long-standing WvWers, just as they plan on rewarding long-standing PvErs in a later update.
come on, i know everyone wants this.
when we will have it?
Wait till Guild Wars 3.
Well, from the looks for it, WvW titles aren’t entirely for vanity. There seems to be skills and buffs associated with them too.
Correct, but they should separate them. Ranks should be account wide and skills/buffs character based.
Apparently, ANET designers are bad at designing their own game.
I have to agree with the OP in this one. Most of the people who are disagreeing have not played the other professions thoroughly.
I have 5 level 80s, and leveling 2 more. My 80s are: Ele, Mes, War, Guard and Necro.
I have tried pure DPS and pure support for all these characters. Here are the results on these 5 ONLY (thief, and engineer undergoing evaluation).
Best DPS (power/condition):
1. Warrior, A+++
2. Guardian, A- (roll a 30+ crit chance, 90% crit damage one and see how stupid OP it is WHILE providing support. GS skill 2 can do over 12k damage easy)
3. Mesmer, B+
4. Elementalist, B-
5. Necromancer, C+
Best Heals:
1. Guardian, A+
2. Warrior, A-
3. Elementalist, A-
4. Necromancer, A-
5. Mesmer, B-
Highest non-heal support (condition removal, damage boost, etc):
1. Mesmer, A+++ (fields, feedback, portals, time warp)
2. Guardian, A+ (condition removal, blocking, stability, reflects)
3. Warrior, A- (shout heals, stat boosts)
4. Elementalist, B-
5. Necromancer, C-
Using Windows 7 Professional Edition,
I cannot start GW2 because it did not shut-down properly after the most recent update.
If I try to open GW2 again, I get the error that another GW2 is already running.
If I CTRL-ALT-DEL and select “GW2.exe” from list of running processes and select “End Process” or “End-Process-Tree”, nothing happens.
Need help!
The travel costs are rather high when you start playing and leveling your first character. However, once you are level 80 and making 2-5g/hr, the travel costs are manageable.
I still think that any character with 100% map completion should have ALL travel costs waived. It’s a reward for hard work, and it would encourage people to help lower-level friends/guildies.
The less they hear the community, and the more they roll out these stupid updates, the less I feel like supporting the game. There.
Does anyone know the recipe to upgrade ascended backpacks (not the fractal one, but others like Tomb of the Rubicon, Koss on Koss, Book of Secrets, etc) to the infused version?
I was trying to infuse my Tomb of the Rubicon. I placed the Tome, 5x coagulated mysts essence and ectos, but I didn’t know the 4th ingredient.
Any ideas?
p.S. I meant back-piece, and not backup…
My level 80s are: Warrior, Guardian, Ele, Mesmer, Necro. All geared in multiple exotic sets + ascended rings.
Of all the 80s, I enjoy necro the most in WvW vs zergs because there’s where the necro truly shines. Drop a bunch of conditions, laugh and run back.
However, in PvE, the necro of GW2 does not enjoy the awesome mechanics/fun of GW1 necro. In GW2, conditions on bosses expire too quickly, are shared with other players and pretty much make a conditionmancer (one of the most used necro builds of GW2) relatively weak. Moreover, power builds just don’t work well on necro. Even my damage specced guardian does way more DPS overall than my necro.
They need to bring back hexes the way it worked in GW1. Necros and mesmers should be able to hex others – to allow automatic damage when certain conditions are met such as enemy attacking, enemy missing, enemy using boons, etc. This will not only improve the overall DPS of necro, but also make playing a necro a lot more strategic. There is a necro skill which converts enemy boons to conditions but it does very little damage because those conditions don’t last too long (even with consumables). The recharge on some necro skills are also ridiculous at the moment, reducing overall effectiveness.

Screenshots of my necromancer’s Twilight armor dyed using two versions of pink:
Isn’t she cute? I particularly love the Avatar like skin on the back of the armor.
It’s not rocket science.
The guy who started the dungeon instance rage-quit, making everyone leave the dungeon. Team suicide, there you go.
Consider this scenario:
1. Running FOTM 26 for daily
2. Using an alt with 20 agony resistance (from infused rings collected from main)
3. Alt has never done fractals before.
Questions:
1. Will alt have a chance at an infused ring?
2. Will the number of the fractal tokens scale, i.e. 10 tokens per fractal instead of 5?
Very impressive indeed. Looks amazing!
Also need this for DM.
Already been to Simin several times but the teams give up eventually.
I have a full-zerk war, mes, ele and prot guard.
Update:
Completed this will my guild. We used 3 zerk Wars and 2 TW mes.
If you need just Simin, I can help with my war.

Here’s my female norn guardian wearing CoF/other mix and celestial white dye.
Hey.
Is there a way for one to download one’s transaction history (like it appears under ‘My Transactions’ tabs ‘Items I’ve Sold’, and ’Item’s I’ve Bought’)? Preferably in MS Excel format.
I would like to run some numbers and see where I suffered losses, gains, etc.
Any official website that would enable me to do that?
What anime is that?
Hey, what anime is that?
Tie pre-cursor to story-mode completion. Problem solved. The story-mode is such a long drag after the first time it is completed and could arguably be the longest ‘scavenger hunt’ I can think of.
For example: Completing the story-mode on a character gives a “Book of Secrets” (GW1 fans will know this) that could be exchanged for a pre-cursor (of choice) from a NPC in LA eventually.
Any news when she is coming back?
I am out of the regular harvesting tools and would like to buy the large packs available at her store.
Content IS crap. Stop gambling.
I’ve actually seen lots of the recipes drop in various dungeons. Oddly enough they always seem to drop for someone that a) isn’t 400 jeweler b) isn’t lvl 80 Since they are account bound on acquire it’s a double whammy to the availability of the actual items
Not always. I got the accessory exotic recipe (Ashes of the Effigy) from COF P1. I was doing on my lvl 80 mesmer w/400 jewel crafting.
I opened 20 wintersday boxes.
All I got was temporary tonics. I did not get a single mini-pet. How do you explain that?
You have lousy luck? What exactly is there to explain? The results of opening a box are random.
Isn’t that obvious? Tell me something I don’t know.
Plus, this deters me more than anything from using the cash shop.
Hi everyone,
The statistics reported on the wiki pages for the Wintersday Mystery Box drop rates are incorrect, due to the method being used for calculating them. Some of our item packages use more than one loot table to determine what you get from opening them. Whenever you open a Wintersday Mystery Box, it randomly drops items selected from 2 tables, each having specific items and their own drop rates.
We’ve seen people mention the low drop rates of Foostivoo from Wintersday Mystery Box and would like to remind people that the primary way to obtain this miniature is from the Mystic Forge, by combining other minis (wiki link).
Thank you.
I opened 20 wintersday boxes.
All I got was temporary tonics. I did not get a single mini-pet. How do you explain that?
Yes, I have stopped gambling on these chests.
Cheers.
Tell me what you guys think about the following:
1. Should legendaries be account-bound only, i.e. they cannot be sold on TP?
2. Should legendaries be account-bound on use, and not soul-bound on use?
Discuss.
Is there a pvp only bag? Don’t tell me that Tixx(in the mists) gives you another bag? I talked to him and there was NOTHING in the chest -.-
My pve character talked to Tixx in the Heart of the Mists. I clicked on “I would like to get one”, but nothing showed up in my inventory. I clicked him again, but he doesn’t do anything anymore.
Bug?? Can anyone help?
Nvm. I checked the chest nearby and got it!
ANET ….fix the RNG ring drop soon.
I am currently at fractal 19, and I have only +5 agony resistance, whereas most other people I know are at +15 or more. Why am I punished for contributing equally but having less than the average player?
I know ANET will change the ring drop-rate soon, but can we please ask for sooner than later?
Just give a ring at 10, 15, 20, 25, etc for CERTAIN but the type of ring could be RNG. The daily RNG drop-rate is crap for some unlucky people like me.
The graveyard zerg works in a bunch of places that don’t reset on party wipe, not just the Jade Maw, but that’s another story for another time.
My point is, the unavoidable agony is in essence a “gear check” to make sure you’re capable enough to run that difficulty. If you’re skilled enough to reach that level, you should’ve earned some form of agony resist equipment by that point. As it stands now, there’s no guarantees that by fractal 50 you’ll have a ring of any kind (nor will fractals have rewarded you enough materials to make an agony resist backpiece).
After 20 (and perhaps earlier) you’re just a burden to your party by not having the necessary gear to combat agony, simply for being unlucky. Flawed implementation is flawed.
I think this post wins thread.
same thing is happening here. Were you all in lions arch when the stuff startedto dissapear?
Yes I’m in Lion’s Arch always when I do my trades.
Everyone make sure to SUBMIT AN IN-GAME SUPPORT REQUEST. All the errors I’ve seen are at least showing up in your TP transaction history, which means that they can be tracked so you can have your funds/items restored.
I have 20+ buy orders worth over 120g. They are currently just sitting still in ’Item’s I’m buying’ tab. I have taken screenshots in case they decide to flush this tab and not return the money either.
Update: Two of the buy orders got fulfilled. These two items are now in the ‘Items I’ve Bought’ tab. But I cannot see them in the ‘Pickup’ tab. I have taken screenshot of this also.

Here’s another thread running in the Bug’s section:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Black-Lion-Trade-Bug/first#post869311
I created a new thread regarding a similar issue yesterday for one specific item Ghastly Grinning Shield Skin:
The mod closed it. I am curious to see how the mods respond to this thread now that it has gone viral.
OK, Looks like the “Pick up” tab is just not working.
Bugs:
1. If you have something in ‘Items I’m selling’, and you remove it —> Item doesn’t come in the pickup tab.
2. If you placed a buy order in ’Item’s I’m buying’ and you remove it —> The money doesn’t come in the pickup tab.
Anyone else having other kinds of problems with TP?
Canceled a buy order but didn’t get any money back.
Fix it! People are getting frustrated in game.
I have 20+ other buy orders worth over 120g which I fear of canceling. I have taken screenshots so I can file a valid case to support if hell does break over TP.
(edited by mage.3570)
I created a new thread regarding this not receiving proceeds from sale. I have been burned again this week. I lost 25g (before tax) to TP about 10 days ago, and lost another 29g 45s (before tax) today.
I need an answer to this.
